That's what I mean by it being harder than curing cancer. You'd need to weave the genetic materials together in such a way that they somehow don't conflict with one another. And you'd need to do so in such a way that the genes that come out as the dominant ones produce something aesthetically pleasing (or at least, that isn't horrifying). We simply don't have that much of a handle on genetics at the moment.
