In my experience, ladder stitch is enough. I've only had the thread break on me very infrequently and in very particular cases. In almost all cases, the fabric will tear apart before the thread breaks anyway, but that may be because of the crappy fabric I'm using at the moment.

In their defense, the biggest problems with those are the seams being on the outside, Judy being severely understuffed, and the tendril-hair that Krystal has. Which are all things that the maker seems to have recently stopped doing. So they do seem to finally be improving.

Granted, even the most recent ones aren't GREAT, but they're alright and relatively cheap for a 5-foot-tall plushie with two sex holes and a posable skeleton. Though that only really applies to maybe the two most recent ones, which are only okay and still have some noticeable flaws, so I'd still suggest waiting to see if they can at least remain consistent before I'd even consider actually buying anything from them.
