Honestly can't see like that. I mean sure she is suffering a lot, but we're talking about someone who was intentionally putting everyone on the city on a fucking war, even if the movie didn't show anything too drastic. You could have a caribou who got killed all because she got meanie boss and wanted more power, you could have a tiger getting his arm torn off because of anti-pred attacks and whatnot because of her anti-pred stance, even if it was a fake comfortable banner she took. Even in the context of the movie I feel like she deserves to suffer for starting such fucking clusterfuck putting the whole city in a war state because she didn't feel appreciated.

Also, on the museum, she made the decision of murdering Judy while laughing and having the time of her life, and not with her hands, by using a drug to force someone to do it while she watched. Like really it didn't work but the fact she was having so much fun with such a fucking horrid concept makes me lack any empathy aside from "I wouldn't want to get in jail and get almost killed", but nothing of "she doesn't deserve this".

I found drawabox very useful for the first exercises, since they really help in giving you the most basic training (draw a circle, draw straight lines) that are the basis of every drawing.

Villains are people just as much as anyone else. Just because you can empathize with them doesn't mean they aren't getting what they deserve.

It's not about trying to make you forgive them, or at least I don't view that way personally. It's showing you that things are the way they are. No matter what happened to them, they're just as 'human' as the heroes of the tale.

You can choose to pity them or have no remorse. They are what they are, and what happens happens. I find 'getting their comeuppance' stories fascinating, since it sheds a new light on the character. I should also add that you can like a character yet still condemn them for what they've done.

The fact that you can empathize with Dawn just makes me think Middry did a good job of conveying her as a person instead of just a villain.

My feelings towards the comic can be summarised in picrelated.

I sometimes wonder, did these people bother to watch the film at all? Why it is so many good artists are so bad at anything besides drawing?

See, I'm not going to start write / drawfag divide because it's meaningless, but I think we can all agree none of the crap Rem285, spinderella or cuckcomic would fly if they were confined to fics.

But porn is porn and a lot of things we do here for kicks, while "serious" content is subject to rather strict quality control. Anonymity helps.

I wish unions between write and draw fags happened more often - as is usually the case, films are more popular than books despite either medium having their unique qualities, but asking opinion of a several accomplished writefriends before coming up with a script can enormously benefit both parties. As well as the fandom, which can enjoy much better product.

I agree with most of your points except - The start of the comic was about Judy not wanting to make expression that she is in taboo relationship. That was the whole theme of the comic, the Max character was the warning sign of what happens when prey dates pred. before he was made into hybrid bullied by anti pred/prey terrorists and whatnot. The comic was good up to scenes in Hospital. It was even a little bit mysterious. But after that it was just pure shit.

Really great and compelling style. Although it looks messy each line seems to be there for a reason.
The expressions fit and convey the emotions of the characters really well.

The pacing evokes tension, but as a whole it seems confusing.
I'm sure things will be explained as the story progresses, but this chapter seems to be something more metaphorical.

I'm assuming Dawn wants to go "eye for an eye" on Judy, but would a savage ewe be able to wield a scalpel?
If Dawn wanted to cut her open then drugging herself wouldn't be the most ideal.
But this is a dream sequence after all, so it's probably there to express her vengeful intention.

I like this chapter as a whole though. It really solidified Dawn's stance on the situation.
In the first chapter I believed that she learned her lesson and realized that she acted out of line, but is still frustrated with how things developed.
Now I know that she wants to make Judy feel how she felt during her time in prison.
I'm eager to see what she'll actually do though.
(I hope she doesn't go through with taking revenge, that would make her a dumb ewe.)

But one of the things I realized through one of Comic's readthrough is that one of the most interesting things to see when there is a character in an altered mental state is to see the outside world and the unfolding of the plot through his/her eyes. Distorting reality a little, seeing normal situations become tragic and/or strange and viceversa.

Sapient races are already very varied in that reality, so maybe there is a finer line between fantasy and historical RPG. Also fantasy races will likely include non mammal (aka reptile, fish, insect or pure bizarre alien) elements more easily.
Maybe an interesting branch will focus on morphing, changing race and similia.

Well obviously you'd have specially designed dungeon maps for Rodents to actually play on.

You'd have an entire sub market where you PAY small mammals to actually act our your campaign if you're rich enough.

Naturally you'd also have the "It's going to cost 5 times the normal rate if you want us to fuck during this" clause that only the rich can pay

Though for some mice that's probably living the dream as you become the sex avatar for some horny rich player to fuck everything in the game.

Also you can get more creative with monsters.
