Chubby/curvy ladies
Also, why are so many artists, especially popular ones, assholes?
>>6686421
who are you thinking of?
>>6686421
Being an artist is the easiest way to inflate your own ego, and I say this as one albeit one who is budding. People who can't draw will constantly blow smoke up your ass and it will literally never stop. When you constantly receive praise no matter what you do or how you act, there's literally no need to be nice to people. It's annoying but that's just how it is.
>>6687163
Budding stalled out artist here, can confirm. People will constantly praise you if you make any effort at all to play for an audience, even in passing. And not even necessarily because they want something (although a lot of people want something). Some people are just super happy to see art related to their interests, and so they'll slavishly kiss your ass for it. It's really easy to fall into the trap of thinking you're hot shit, or thinking that only these people kissing your ass matter, and from then on the fuck do you need from other people?
You prettymuch either need to be really well grounded or have crippling self-doubt preventing you from crawling up your own ass. And self-doubt comes with its own problems. You don't want to end up being one of those people who nukes all their galleries every few years.
Or be like me, and just be a lazy fuck who just fucking forgets to draw for so long people forget who you are, that'll do it.
>>6686421
>Also, why are so many artists, especially popular ones, assholes?
Because people are assholes to them?
>>6687319
Yeah, the playing for an audience thing is basically an absolute guarantee you will have your ass showered in kisses. If you fill some sort of niche, like a fanbase or a fetish, nobody will dare to criticize you if you're meeting a need that nobody else is. I keep myself grounded by reminding myself that these people wouldn't give a shit about me if I didn't draw what they like, and a lot of people forget that nobody gives a shit about who the artist is, just what they make.
A good way to tell if an artist really enjoys what they do is to see if they keep drawing even if they aren't smothered in (You)s. I knew some people who just started to draw so they could get their e-dick sucked, it was gross.
Constantly having to deal with Speedy tier people all the time wears you down after a while.
I always tell myself to never let it go to my head. I try to be open with everyone I meet but there have been a few people I'v talked to that just need to stop :/
>>6687690
Yep, I make a lot of Pokemon stuff and the fans really like that, but I do wanna draw other things from time to time. Sometimes that stuff gets less views but at least I had fun making it :D
>>6686421
>Also, why are so many artists, especially popular ones, assholes?
are they actually assholes, were you assholish to them at first and they responded negativily because of it, or are you just blowing an answer that wasn't so bad out of proportion.
Because as far as art on the web is concerned, all three are very common
>>6688083
What do you mean Speedy tier? You mean people that are fast drawers, or is there an artist named speedy?
>>6690288
Speedy is an autist from the /trash/ Drawthread.
Basically, a faggot who likes to derail everything, annoy literally everyone, and request/commission the shittiest garbage that nobody should ever draw.
>>6688083
>>6690364
>>6690288
>>6690108
Its funny because I JUSTTT started taking requests and Im already feeling that. Bunch of rude shitheads on every site trying to demand things from you as if its their right or granted to them. 4chan I can brush off but everywhere I go I get fuckshits that tell me these autistic taunts and insults over being a human being that simply cant do 1000 requests in an hour
And even when its not me I can even begin to tell you how annoying it is to watch someone bust thier ass to make a drawing just to have some dickhead shoot it down like it was garbage
>>6690657
Protip: ignore them.
If they're in a Stream, mute them.
If they're in DA or any other art sharing site, skip over their comments.
They're fucking everywhere cause Autism is everywhere.
>>6690704
yeah man. I just gotta hit that mute button and keep trucking I guess
>>6691094

Annyone got pics of thic cow anon? Saw it a few days ago but forgot to save it.
>>6708516
There are a few of them. Is there a specific one you are looking for?
>>6686421
Even the well-reasoned criticism/praise arguments aside, creatively-minded people are statistically much more likely to have some sort of diagnosable mental condition. It's pretty much a monkey's paw kind of deal. "You get the power to put shapes on paper, but you will become co-dependent in your teens and suffer short-term memory loss."
tl;dr artists are crazy
>>6708516
The name is Anonymoo.
You can ask /huge boobs/, where she originated, for more pics if you want.

The internet has developed this weird culture about art where assholes get to hide behind the excuse that they're giving "criticism". It's this weird dynamic where they can freely insult people, but if they give some insults back in any way, or are evenly openly dismissive of the insults, they are suddenly bad artists for "rejecting criticism".
The world is just chockfull of people who don't know what the word "criticism" means.
>>6716919
This.
While there are many artists who really can't take the right sort of criticism, you have a lot of people who can but half the time they get stuff like,
"Your art is shit! Your poses/colors/etc are shitty!"
when they'd rather have something like,
"This pose could use work because blah blah blah! You can fix your anatomy problems by doing this, this, or this."
The first one points out a problem but doesn't exactly give any bit of advice on how to rectify the problem. As a result it doesn't come off as helpful, but just being a dick for the sake of it. Things like that are more likely to get rejected and that's when people start screaming about artists being unable to take criticism
>>6717072
Even worse, if you politely ask what is wrong, and you get the "if you can't see that without me pointing it out, you're completely hopeless as an artist anyway" spiel.
I figure a lot of prolific artists have tuned this sort of thing out, or have learned to expect people being assholes who think their unwarranted advice is a nugget of wisdom from God himself.
And at the end of the day people's wallets are a much more reliable form of criticism than some cunt online. I mean, I think Jay Naylor has some flaws to his art. Is he really going to give two fucks when he's pulling in 10K a month as is? No, he is not.

God i can't help but agree.

Hey man, you'll never know what can happen if you don't put yourself out there some more. Even back when you were Megahorn, I thought your stuff was really cute, for what it's worth from an anon on a Chinese wood-whittling board.

>>6750416
I haven't even drawn in years at this point and I've made a couple artist friends recentlyish. So long as you have something in common to talk about and hopefully neither of you is a hair trigger head case, it can work fine.
>>6698652
you need to improve a bit, just have fun and enjoy doing what you do

man, your art looks decent and cute, dont stop if you still enjoy drawing
