Sorry if I come into the discussion. I agree that the Pastebin is essential. Mainly NOT because it contains fics (but it is still very useful like this), but because it contains fics that are in Pastebins and other formats that are not indexed by a main site (like ao3), so, without the Pastebin, they will be lost.
Also the slippery slope argument is invalid in this case, since the Pastebin served its function well before the CC list.
But I know that sometimes people want to just know what CCs are here.
However I find the idea of a package neat.
So, why not both?

Since Pastebun isn't around I took it upon myself to start a re-write of the pastebin to send to him. I'd like you ask you all a few questions.

1. Considering the CC list is now a thing, should the art section be removed entirely? It's a bit redundant now and it was always lacking anyways considering there's only a few names on there. If not what should be done to make the whole section less pointless?

2. Same question, but regarding the music and audio section.

3. Should the order and organization of the fanfic list be re-evaluated? I'm thinking it could be split into sections (shipping, OC stuff, etc). On top of that, should the order be changed so that the more well known and renowned fics go to the top of the list?

For point one, I would argue to keep all the imgur links, but remove links to art blogs and such, since they're already there.

Likewise with soundcloud for point two.

I think the tagging system that's currently in place should suffice.
Perhaps you might edit the tags themselves to make fics easier to find if necessary.

For point four, we already have the creator list as well as the Thread Journal in there.
Whether or not to include the creator list in OP is a different concern altogether, but I digress.

I'm afraid the only one I have is outdated, and I've lost the link. I actually post the comic on my tumblr because it's easier to format and tag.

I'm pretty much done with everything except for splitting and re-organizing the fanfiction section, which I want to wait until I talk to Pastebun before I do so. There are lots of descriptions and tags for stories that are missing, and part of me wants to make a post asking any writers to add descriptions and tags themselves. I'd do it myself, but reading the potential hundreds of stories on here just to get a description and a tag list is too big of a process for me to want to bother with.

Though I think it's worth mentioning when we last talked, ThreadsJournal anon said he wanted to incorporate the CC list into the Journal by the way of expanding and rewriting existing CC section. Once done, I had originally intended to do away with the spreadsheet and imagined it would be used only to mark any new additions, keeping the google document on the sidelines and mostly out of sight.

Granted, I've not heard from TJ since Friday, so with the pastebin overhaul he might have different thoughts, but thought I'd let you guys know.

I honestly believe that the CC list should be kept, even if the thread journal is updated to incorporate it.

For one thing, it's a lot easier to browse through all the CC's in the doc than it would be in a pastebin

For another, you can actually click the links in the spreadsheet. You can't click links in the pastebin. This is a bit of a pain.

Not saying that incorporating it into the TJ is a bad idea, just that getting rid of the CC list (no matter the circumstance) is a bad idea, especially after all the work that went into it.

Hey /ztg/! Still trying to come up with something for TT story or art project? Here are a few partially thawed ideas that just need to defrost in your brain for a minute before they're ready.
