Magic, show me magic. Or else, i'll be bored.

Sorry, I don't...like being touched.
>She lets out a long, slow breath, before quickly starting to chant something under her breath, making a few small motions with one of her hands.
>Slowly over the course of a few seconds, from the top down, Madotsuki's body would dry off as if from having bathed.
>>6466980

>A group of large men(?) stomp into view, almost all of them carrying large bags. They were all completely covered in head to toe, making it difficult to see their features. In the front of the group was a single, short, blonde woman.
This doesn't look like a morgue. Maybe Veronica pressed a wrong button again.

Very funny, Anon. Tapioca isn't on the table this year or any year, for that matter. It's not the reason he's here.
>>6467198
Of course it isn't a morgue. I doubt that this place has much need for something like that, considering the lack of death and all.
>>6467198
You would be correct, that aside, all corpses that fall here belong to me.
>>6467198

>>6467231
Wait.. Stop..

Begin.. Operation..
>The girl sews herself back together and takes a seat in the loser's bench.
>>6467234
I was supposed to come here to pick up some spare parts.. What do you mean by lack of death?
>>6467255
You don't think you could spare a few?
>>6467260
No, I suppose I just got the wrong directions. I'm here to pick up some spare parts for my lab, but I'm not seeing any. Maybe I took a wrong turn somewhere.
>>6467269
That's fine. I didn't realize they'd be so fresh. I should come here more often. I suppose I'll just go ahead and watch.
>>6467273
>Fuckin' A, man.

>>6467279

>>6467279
I mean that despite all the fighting that goes on in this arena, nobody seems to really die. They just reappear after being killed. It's quite perplexing. What kind of parts are you looking for, anyway?
>>6467316
what a fucking emo
>>6467305
Duel 2
The spirit of the holiday is to blame for that death. Or maybe I am just thinking too much.
>>6467269
If you mean Thanksgiving then you are correct. I had thought that these holidays were supposed to be relaxing.
>>6467279
>The woman looks on unperturbed at what is behind the other as she speaks with a cold tone.
You are being too germinal. Parts from what?
>>6467334
「Sorry, I'm sure your death was my fault, but I prefer to be the cowardly loser over the cool kind of loser that's dead.」
>>6467334
I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm so sorry! Why do I keep doing this!?
>>6467334
It looks like night will be the boring times this time.
>>6467351
Generally, yeah. You the one doing the cooking?
>>6467364
「To be invited to join a team with you guys in it...」
「I'm not sure if I should feel honored or disgusted.」
>>6467315
Medical scientist. Technically speaking, it's impossible to raise the dead. I suppose you could emulate it, but you'll never really bring the person's personality or memories back. Don't believe the rumors that people can come back good as new. Brain death is a touchy subject.
>>6467321
I need more bodies, I used the last one to save a dying fireman. His skin was too far gone, so I just swapped his mind into a different body. Plus it's just nice to have extra organs and parts lying around in case I need them. Not to push it, but I'd probably need about twenty at least.
>>6467326
Organs, mostly. Do the bodies stick around?
>>6467351
People. Organs. Limbs. I go through them way too fast, I'm already almost out. This is one of my most urgent shortages in the last month.
>>6467364
Duel 3
Maybe you should not wear a suit in the desert.
>>6467383
Nope. They seem to clear out by the time of the next match. I'm not sure about bodies outside of the arena, however. I haven't observed any killings outside of the games.
>>6467393
Next day should be better. If only because you can not get any worse than this.
>>6467383
You may have the organs, however, if you are taking perfectly good bodies to save humans. I can not spare more than four corpses. It would be going to waste.
>>6467374
Attempting to. My results have been less than effective. I am sure whatever I make will kill someone and I am not trying to this time.
>>6467383
If you are aware of such a problem and with how common, I would think you would be smart enough to make that not happen.
>>6467410
Duel 4
It is much better than whatever that was yesterday. Mostly because of the efforts of one person.
>>6467383
With the proper magic or ability, anything's possible, lady, trust me. Gotta broaden your horizons.
>>6467423

>>6467622

>>6467633
Hmm... are you a cute anime girl?
>>6467634
If you think I knew the problem was, I would have fixed it by now.
Alright, I've got my food, so let's see how I...
>>6467580
Oh. Forgive me if I don't think five kills is that effective in third place. Adequately done, host. I'll have a word with the player later.
>>6467674
>Thanks!
I mean, there's only so many variables...do you not pay attention to it?
>>6467681
I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm so sorry!
>>6467406
That'll definitely complicate things. I'll have to figure out how to make the bodies stick around. Maybe I can catch them while they're evaporating and store them as a mist.
>>6467414
Saving peoples' lives is far from a waste. It's fine if you don't like people, but the advancement of technology and humankind is pretty important for everybody. Obviously someone saved you by relocating probably-damaged muscles to the inside of your skeleton, am I right?
>>6467423
It's hard to find someone that sells cadavers around my professor's lab. Usually no one wants to sell to me either, since there's some silly rumor going around that I create monsters.
>>6467434
When technology becomes advanced enough, it's pretty tough to tell it apart from magic, isn't it? I'm sure it is possible, but with the level science is at right now we just haven't made the breakthrough that lets us replicate the electron patterns that create memory. It's a very tough thing to copy.
>>6467675
Then what are you?
>>6467686
That... may be a factor to it. Despite my best efforts to, I find myself not caring.
>>6467681
So you are one of the people where victory means everything. Understandable. At least the one that won also had an equal amount of kills. Not that you would care.
>>6467701
I have found that there is some truth to rumors usually. Not that I care. For what purpose do you need a dead body anyway?
>>6467701
Hehehe...only to a degree, lady. Especially since it's taken it this long to catch up.
>She lays her hands on the back of her head, and kicks her feet forward, floating a few feet up in the air in a relaxed position
Not that it's common to have that sort of ability, either, admittedly.
>>6467723
Now THAT'S one of the most important parts to it! Maybe it's just not that kind of cooking you care for?
>>6467694
Oh, don't worry about it. The sting's pretty much gone now, anyway. I wouldn't stay angry over something like this.
>>6467723
Well, she drew even with me by killing me, so I'd rather that that hadn't happened. As for victory...it's not everything, but it's certainly a lot.
>>6467701
That's an interesting idea. I'm not sure how it would work, but perhaps you'll figure something out. If you don't mind me asking, what do you need these organs for? It seems like an oddly specific business to be here on.
>>6467747
I just wanted to win without killing anyone! Why can't I do that!?
>>6467723
I have patients that come in looking for all sorts of things. Extra arms, a brain swap with their sister, augmented eyesight, all kinds of projects like those. I need spare parts to make that happen, but it's not like I just stumble upon dead bodies all the time, so I have to order them.
>>6467734
>She takes note of the floating and walks over to the girl, bending down to feel the air underneath her.
Innovative. You're using magnetic force to attract tiny particles to your body, then the small amount of friction that provides, combined with the polarization under your body, to push back against the particles under you. That's definitely not the most efficient way to give a human flight, but it is wireless. It's been a long time since I've seen an augmentation this seamless.
Is this the work of the professor?
>>6467750
I've run out of spare parts. I use them for plenty of things, but usually it's what you'd expect. Someone comes in with heart failure, they pay me, and I give them a new heart. Of course, there's always the odd person that wants two livers or four lungs or six arms. Then there're the fun ones that want to switch consciousness with a new body or clone themselves.
>>6467734
While I do find the process of heating water dull, I do not trust myself to not mess anything else up. I would not want to ruin this day for her.
>>6467747
That is true. On both accounts. I am probably just indifferent to it because I was recently victorious. That will change eventually.
>>6467779
Are they not satisfied to what is giving to the? I hope it backfires on them somehow. Even if the problem of using humans that are alive occurs, you could just take what you need from a graveyard.
>>6467704
already told you.

dont get mad.

Hmmm... I guess you won't give me much to talk about... or to guess.

Who? I'll have you know this really is nothing but magic! Or...spiritual power if you wanna be really picky.

>>6467803
Rotting parts aren't any good for anybody. I need them pretty fresh. Usually I'll just find bones in a graveyard, anyway. Plus, I'm no grave robber. That's my sister's job. It's up to them what they do with what I give them, they just give me money and I do it. I don't just work for patients, though. The bodies are also good to experiment and test things on.
>>6467827
It does seem like magic, doesn't it? I don't blame you for calling it that. Did you ever have a run-in with a guy sort of hunched over, with a beard, whose last name is Madaraki? That's my professor. He's the only person I know that could put something like that floating ability you have into a person.

>>6467754
I don't know. You've got to accept that killing people in these games is a very real possibility. If you can't handle that, I'd suggest staying in the spectator section.
>>6467803
I've won recently, too, but I'm sure you know how it feels to get so close and then not get it done. As a person that likes to get things done, it's not an ideal situation. I imagine you're a person that likes to get things done as well.
>>6467850
This isn't even my real ability, thank you very much. And I've never seen anyone like that let ALONE a scientist like that, back in Gensokyo. I'll have you know I was taught to fly by my mother, thank you very much.
>She harrumphs a little, an expression on her face like she's being belittled.
And like hell would I ever let some creepy old man close enough to open my up, anyways.

>>6467884
He must have operated on your mother and made the process genetic. That's my professor, alright. He's not creepy, either. He's my role model. He does all the work he does to advance science and humankind. He's really a hero. I miss him.
>>6467909
Adopted. And whoever this guy is, you kinda can't operate on a centuries-old evil spirit.
...Sorry for stepping on a sore note.
>>6467898
Then you'll just have to be fine with killing them and hope that they don't hate your guts for all eternity, especially if they were on the verge of winning.
>>6467919
No, that's fine. Actually, I'm more curious about how he did it. Maybe he made a contagion of sorts that spread through the air for a set amount of time? I have no idea. His experiments are way over my head. Looks like I've just got to work a lot harder.
>>6467932
But that's...that's a horrible thing!
>>6467898
>bullies
>>6467944
Lady. Let's put it this way. There is literally a zero percent chance he has ever interacted with me or anyone else from where I'm from. It's a physical impossibility.
And ghosts can't exactly contract OR carry contagions, now can they?
>>6467827
Of course. Help will be needed if I wish to surpass my limits. However I have doubts that I will see her soon.
>>6467850
Is that so? Do you not think that is a reason why finding new ones is hard to come by?
>>6467862
For once, I understand how someone else feels. Whenever I get to that point, I would just prefer losing much earlier. All of that work for nothing.
>>6467965
But is zero really ever actually zero? Like you just said a moment ago, anything is possible if you just broaden your horizons. I've done a lot of thinking about ghosts and really it's just curious. There're certain particles that cling to atomic debris floating through the air, and among those, about half are known to carry disease. Although it would probably never happen in nature, if I were to contain a ghost, I'm sure I would be able to afflict it with some sort of illness. Most likely pneumonia.
>>6467983
I save a lot of people. People dying is inevitable, but if it's in my power, I'll save them. Obviously the more people I save the less people die, so the better I do my job, the less resources I'll have. It's really a slippery slope of success and failure.
>>6467964
Why??
>>6467952
Yeah well, this can be a horrible game sometimes. You either deal with it or you don't. Those are the facts. You'd do well to put such emotions out of your mind.
>>6467983
Exactly. I try not to get my hopes up too much until I have the victory in hand for just that reason. Try as one might, though, there's always that little voice that tells you that this might be the time.
>>6467983
It's all a matter of when she decides to show up, huh? Can't really help you there.
>>6468003
I'll ask you to not even talk about considering kidnapping my mother, thank you very much.
And this one's different. Frankly unless everyone in the entire world forgot or disbelieved in his existence, he'd never run in to us. Especially given the fact that neither her nor I have...technically ever existed. Weird stuff.
...Ugh. The worst part is that you skeptics can never stop trying to half-justify things scientifically, you know that?

>>6468021
Don't tell me you're from some sort of alternate timeline. Dimensional travel isn't my line of expertise. I'm just a medical scientist.
>>6468036
Is it really that cold? Or are you just that naive? Anybody who's been here for more than five minutes can see what I'm talking about. I know people deal with things in different ways, but it troubles me when people willingly put their heads in the sand.
>>6468003
This problem seems like it could be easily mitigated if you were a legitimate doctor. You would have the tools you need then.
>>6468019
This has happened to me various times. At least in this case, you did not get to see yourself get that close so there should be no feeling like that.
>>6468021
Everytime I come here, it seems the ones I am fond of leave. Ugh. It is whatever. You seem well today.
>>6468034
Wow. It is even more boring than what Mother described.
>>6468036
>pins wings
>starts punching your butt
>>6468059
Doctors have too many rules and regulations they have to follow. My professor never believed in that, and neither do I. True advancement comes from doing what's best, and sometimes rules or law go against that. I do all I do for the advancement and understanding of humankind. It's a much more interesting career than being a doctor.
>Phone rings
>>6468055
Less "alternate" more like..."rewritten". At least that's what the thought is. Pretty stupidly complex-sounding, huh?
>She sets back down, and pulls out a can of soda from her satchel, cracking it open and quickly taking a drink.

I'm sure I've got a cookbook lying around somewhere, at least. Eh, well enough. It's always nice getting a chance to relax with my own mom.
>>6468088
What do you want?
>>6468059
Nah, it just makes you wonder even more what could have been. I like to think that I can move on from that kind of thing fairly quickly, but it's still not fun right there in the moment.
>>6468070
>There are no wings.
>She cries like a bitch.

Sort of. I won't even try to start understanding the cause of it. As far as I'm concerned, you're just part of this world now. There's no reason to trouble myself with something that doesn't really concern me.
Do you have any proof, though? Something I can analyze?
I need to stop getting mad at shit so easily, only to get over it the next day.
I presume we need a game yes?
>>6468088
Hello? Tori? Sansy? Alphy?
>>6468076
Trying to take fate into your own hands? I guess I can respect that. You should be aware of your limitations however, whatever you are.
>>6468088
>Never seeing a phone before, she looks at it questioningly.
>>6468093
Your mom? I must have missed something. I thought she was dead. Or at least more deader than usual.
>>6468102
Hmm. I did not expect you to get so hang up on this loss. Color me surprised.
>>6468112
Affirmative.
Where do i get it?

Gonna be on for a few hours, remember to mind the layers.
Want pressure?
Check the size in the brush settings.
>>6468112
>If you want to.
>>6468109
As far as I'm concerned, it doesn't matter as long as I can get someone to remember me.
And that's the funny thing about magic, isn't it? It's something out of nothing.
>>6468125
She...she showed up, I don't know...a week or two ago? Hehe...she's even joined me back at the hideout, too.
>>6468125
>>6468130
Sure, il go and set up
Do we need a host? I've to make Junko's wincard and then I can host
>>6468145
look above
>>6468106
What else do you want? When you see it play out over and over and over again, the shock should wear off. Why is this such a foreign concept to you?
>>6468125
Strange as it might seem to you, I'm not a completely unfeeling person. Quite the opposite, in many respects. When it happens, though, it's best to just confront it head-on and get it out of the way so it doesn't eat at me.
>>6468145
Baron is hostan
>>6468125
Fran Madaraki. As far as limitations go, there are none. That's why science exists. Science is to learn what you can while you live and pass on that information so the generation after you can learn even more. It's an ongoing struggle. My job as a scientist is to push my limits.
>>6468130
Energy can't be created or destroyed, that's basic science. It has to come from somewhere. It doesn't matter if that somewhere is a gap in space that's been closed up since then. It's still somewhere.
>>6468149
Cool, I'll go after her then
>>6468155
>>6468151
You go ahead, il be too slow anyway
>>6468164
Go for it, the game will be over by the time I finish the wincard anyway
>>6468153
And that's part of the nature of magic, too. Just not giving a crap about that stuff.
>She snaps her fingers, and a small, dopey-looking ghost POPs in to existence next to her
>>6468130
How lucky for you. Though I suppose I should not be too upset. I have reunited with my own sister recently as well. I can say it has been welcome. I hope the same for you and your mother.
>>6468150
So is that what you do with emotions? I have just been pushing them away. Success in these attempts vary.
>>6468153
Whenever science is concerned, it is always possible to think you are much more important than everything else. At least in my experience. Ramlethal Valentine.

Believe me, I've tried pushing them away before. Never did work very well, or for too long. If you handle what's in front of you, it's less likely to come back and mess with you any further. Ever just sit down and meditate, Ram? That's what helps me.

Part of the nature of science is "giving a crap" about everything. Is this another ability you have?
I'm assuming you gather the moisture into one place and somehow rapidly accelerate its air exposure, possibly with the same magnetic ability you used before, to give it somewhat of a rubber-like texture. Similar to sperm left out to dry.
>>6468180
Patients are always the most important thing, aren't they? That's fundamental. You'll get a greedy doctor here and there, they come in all different colors, but most of them would put their patients' lives above their own.

L-Link!? Check your email its been months, I misses you. The baby misses you. Where have you been?
>>6468278
No, you brought it in from somewhere. A tear in space, maybe. Assuming multiple worlds do really exist, it can also be assumed that energy can be transferred between those worlds. It's still true that energy can't be created or destroyed, that's a fundamental law, though I suppose it's not impossible for energy to be added or subtracted from a world to another. You may not understand it, but I'm certain you're pulling it from somewhere. Possibly your homeworld.
>>6468194
Jian
>>6468206
That is a fair comparison. I have to say, I miss her.... being this active. I would have thought she would never recover from what happened. It makes me feel less hollow whenever I see her acting so different from me.
>>6468210
Meditate? I am unaware of that action. Explain it to me.
>>6468246
You would think so but once the scientists believe they will make a breakthrough, their morals will melt away like a lit candle. However it does not seem like I can expect that from you.

>>6468322
If you're asking about my morals, all that matters to me is that no one in my power to save dies. That's the only thing above my need to advance humankind and science as a whole. Nothing else is anywhere near as important.
You've worked with scientists before, I assume.
>>6468319
MAGIC. DOES NOT. CARE.
>She folds her arms, and a floating green eye with wings appears out of thin air next to her
The only real energy being transferred is what I use to maintain it's link and it's existence, alright?
>>6468322
Hehe...I know that feeling. It's like having a part of you back. It'd only be better if she stopped vanishing on me, not that I blame her. ow's she feeling, then?
>>6468336
Yes.
>>6468348
Let's begin
>>6468348
You should probably read this.

>>6468352
WTF
I HATE MONMOSU NOW
>>6468337
S-Sorry, I fell asleep thinking th-there was no way I'd win... Er, thanks, or whatever.
>>6468348
I know I'm pretty great, but when did I earn the title of champion? It's fitting, but I don't remember doing anything.
Regardless, I accept this challenge.
>>6468351
Let me cut you open. I'll be gentle.
>>6468360
You don't like my manga?
>>6468322
Very well.
>sits down on the ground
You don't have to sit like this. You need only find a position that's comfortable for you. Anyway, to put it briefly, meditation is a way of training your mind. How you train it, or what you train it for is up to you. The point is to let everything go and make sure it doesn't consume you.
Pushing thoughts to the back of your mind achieves the opposite result: not only does it remain in your mind to possibly come back someday, it weighs you down along with all of the other stuff you've shoved back there.
>>6468374
...You want the nice way of putting it, or the harsh way?
>>6468376
Yes, your manga is plagued with crabs, find a new one
kys LF
>>6468348
Many of the portraits are missing. Can you continue like this?
>>6468378
I want you to say yes.
>>6468150
...Lack of contact with anything that would provide that?
>>6468380
I'm only the mangaka.
>>6468303
Thanks dude, i'll just lurk the game.
>>6468390
Thats even worse, it means all monster girls are children of a crab
>>6468397
Never looked at it like that before. You can always try out some other monster girl manga, you know. There's plenty to choose from.
>>6468409
The only other one I know is the Alamo Elma one, but all girls look like shit
>>6468386
Okay, putting it nicely? My insides and my outsides are exactly 100% perfectly normal human. You won't find anything out of the ordinary whatsoever, and I know this.
>Unless you count the fact that her hair is the exact same shade of brown as her eyes.
>Rika
>>6468345
It is difficult to explain. It would be easier to say I know of someone that did do what I have said.
>>6468351
At least you know she is present. I do not think I had seen her yet though. As for El, it is like she had never been with Mother. Only reason I know that is not true is because of her appearance.
>>6468377
>Looking thoughtfully to the other woman, she assumes the same position. Only difference is her floating into the air.
So it is a way to relax. Many others told me that I need to do this some time. This seems like one of the more preferable methods.
