Well, I'd say that's a hell of an improvement then. I know how the fear of feeling like your gonna be stuck at the same skill level feels(Especially when you see some of the examples of the artists shown in this thread.). However, The worst thing one can do is give up because they think they're stagnating.

I think the biggest thing one can do as an artist(at least to me since i've been at it for a decade.) is to be self aware, always strive to try different things, poses, styles, and generally be open to constructive criticism.

Hell, sometimes, just looking back at your old art to see a comparison to see how you're improving can do wonders.

For example, pic related is something I did acouple years back.

Well, no, that's the point, as in, seeing how bad your old art is in comparison to what you currently do. Being able to see the differences in your work now from then, as well as seeing what you've improved on(and can still continue to do so.) is a good way to gauge yourself.

The way around it is to set your standards really high, if you want to be as good as an artist, you just go do it, tracing is not your enemy here, once you figure out how an artist approaches said stuff you can just replicate it from memory and improve from there.

Just keep making stuff, you WILL have an audience that will look up to you, and you'll get nothing but praise from getting better.
