Ross Scott [Accursed Farms] is great.

He's the guy that made Inside Freeman's Mind, but I'm not actually recommending him because of that. He makes the Game Dungeon series now, which are 10-30 minute videos reviewing a variety of games, usually really weird or obscure ones. He just finished reviewing the Deus Ex trilogy.

I wish there were more content creators like him, really. If anyone knows stuff like what Ross Scott does they should recommend it in this thread.

I'm a little on the fence on Heywatchyourmouth. I wouldn't say he's my favorite by any means, but he is up there. How high up there though I'm not sure. His personality and humor are all good but his content leaves a lot to be desired; the guy started out as another commentary channel, and has been in more and more drama. Alright. I have an odd request that's hard to word, but hear me out.

There is a youtuber I used to watch. I don't want to drop her name since she's relatively small and only gets a few dozen comments on video of hers if it's hot, so to speak, but she played a mobile game about dragons. It was really fun to watch because it was just her expressing herself, her opinions, and her day, on top of gameplay of dragons. It's cute, right?

I want something like that. Will anyone offer something like this to me? I know I said I'm scared to link the above person's channel cause she's so small, and anything you might have will doubtlessly be small too, I think, but, you know...

I guess the gameplay doesn't matter, honestly. The sex of the commentator doesn't matter either. I just want comfy expression- they don't even have to be speaking over gameplay. The format of commentating over say a mobile game that doesn't much of the time offer much change enables more personal expression, but it's fine either way. I'm just looking at what people've put forth so far and it seems more like cynicism (yay) vs. content (yay). But I don't really want that- I want personality first, you know what I mean. Anyone have any channel recommendations on this?

I'll put in a vote for the Continue boys, too. They put out weekly, good content that makes me laugh. Although I'll be honest, Nick's been kind of a fat cunt lately in several videos, so I've only really been following Paul and Josh's ContinueQuest stuff. Dragon Warrior was great, Chrono Trigger is pretty good (them shrugging off the permavirgins getting mad at them in the comments for not following the game's "perfect" route is hilarious), but hopefully their next CQ will be a co-op game instead of a single-player RPG.

Also I'm glad Dom is gone. I know he was on the show from the beginning, but he became an unfunny dickweed who stepped all over everyone else to talk about his own shit. Now, Dom doesn't show up as a guest on regular Continue episodes, the only CQ he was on (Mario RPG) is indefinitely suspended, AND the boys don't reference him in either series. I highly doubt that's only because he moved to LA. Something tells me that (aside from bad blood between him and Josh over the podcast split), Nick and maybe Paul also got kinda tired of his shit.

Just don't watch their old, OLD videos due to shitty reddit memes literally everywhere. They've grown up a lot since then, though.

If you're talking politics on Youtube, you'll absolutely NEED to stay completely on top of current trends and the social climate. If you fall behind for even a couple videos, people will find another channel. Always be on top of everything, and be ready to scrap a project if the facts change. If you say something, and then during post-processing a news story comes out with new facts regarding wahtever you were talking about, you need to trash whatr you're working on and start the fuck over. Political Youtube commentators are psychopaths, and they will do everything they can to prove people wrong.

If you don't have the most up-to-date information, they WILL let you know, and they will NOT accept "this video was recorded before this new information came to light" as an excuse. They will demand you issue an edit. They will complain that you're lying and spreading misinformation. They will post ridiculous lies about you on every related video. They may attempt to doxx you if they disagree with your politics, or the way you've decided to discuss an issue.

Political Youtube is a horrifying place full of poop-eating crazy people.

That kind of stuff is typically only if you get pretty popular, but still, you might end up with a crazy person who gets really angry and REALLY attached. The political side of Youtube is a weird, angry place full of shit-eaters with all or nothing, black or white opinions on everything.

One guy's unfiltered opinions about NES platformers on a gaming channel are easily ignored, and you don't even have to reply to him if you don't feel like it, but one guy's unfiltered opinions about muslims/jews/blacks/congress and whoever else he hates can quickly derail your entire fucking channel if you're not careful.

Just keep up with the daily news, stay active on your channel (by replying to good comments AND deleting/banning psychobabble), and talk to other political youtubers.

Last but not least would be Ephemeral Rift, as there seems to be no better ASMR channel and the videos are even interesting without the ASMR aspect in play.
