I've only ever been really comfy on one pillow, but I almost always sleep on my side, semi-fetal with a stuffed animal. I've slept like that for years, but only recently naked.

I either one arm hug the pillow or put it between my legs If I'm sleeping on my side.

Sleeping on my stomach I still hug the pillow but I need another pillow to prop up my hip/side so as to balance it out.

And laying face up is uncomfortable for my back.

It depends on a lot of things for me, but I mostly sleep naked these days. I do use PJs sometimes tho when it's too cold (have no AC at home) or if some odd reason I feel too uncomfortable naked that night (they reduce friction and absorb sweat). I also wear them everytime I visit relatives and stay over, obviously.
