I approve of all the gem/gem ships because I enjoy exploring the dynamics of all the characters, and shipping is one way of doing that. I really like the idea of endgame Jaspis in particular, and I truly think it would be a waste, as well as very unlikely, that Jasper won't return and have a significant role.

I already said it in the last thread, but Jasper's design is obviously based on pic related, a character from an anime that Sugar loved who starts out as a tough antagonist and ends up becoming the lovable awkward buff party member. We know SU takes a lot of inspiration from older media so we know that it's unlikely to be a coincidence.

I suppose so, but there's also heavy foreshadowing for things like Lapidot, between the entire Camp Pining Hearts shenanigans and pic related. There's also lots of Pearlmethyst moments, such as the beginning of Warp Tour. I'm not trying to refute your point, but rather, the crew is fond of their ship tease, so it's hard to say whether a certain scene means X will be canon, and it's probably for the best that we don't assume.

I trust the writers to pull off any relationship in a convincing way that brings everyone on board by the time it's basically established. And that's assuming there even are going to be any endgame ships besides the current ones anyway. I'm honestly leaning most towards the idea that it's all a bundle of red herrings, just to fuck with the fandom.
