i like to think that after spending such a long time around nothing but negativity, like seeing your special friend, friends and foals die repeatedly in your face, being treated like shit so much is what caused them to suddenly behave like greedy little shits with a bad temper

I rather think that it's simply what happens when such dimwitted little creatures are left to their own devices. Just like how children who lack proper parental guidance can become horrible little shits, so too do fluffies who lack human supervision act on their own selfish impulses because they have no authority figure to discipline them when they do wrong.

This lack of personal consequence, plus their own lack of foresight and impulse control means that fluffies will do terrible things because they're too goddamn stupid to think of the consequences of their actions.

To add to this, this is why smarties can be both integral and detrimental to herd survival. They're integral because they bring centralized authority and order. They assign roles, keep the herd on task, and prevent other fluffies from engaging in acts that could jeopardize the herd.

They can be detrimental however, because since there is no authority higher than the smarty, they quickly become drunk on their own power, and start think themselves gods, which is what leads them to do things like trying to invade a humans yard.

Unfortunately there will be a glitch most of the time in how fluffies preserve on Alicorns. The glitch will make them see Alicorns as monsters. If one fluffy gets it then everyone else will get it and they stupidly turn on the alicorn, kill it, and some dumb fluffy will take over
