Mine has been starving and in never ending agony for like 9 years.

No idea what Neopets is, but I know it was popular when I was in elementary school, as my sister talked about them for about a month until she got bored of them. I think it has to do with the internet.

No idea what Animal Jam is either, but I'm subbed on yt to a lot of furries who're into that. but it's all kids/ teens. (not a pedo tho)

Neopets suffers from an interesting problem where the game is so old that new art clashes with old art. It's kind of like how Runescape was before they made the jump to RS3. There were new assets interacting with old assets and everything looked dumb and stupid.

Also, real money currency sucks ass, but I suppose it's a necessary evil for the kind of game it is.

I would be playing Neopets now if the admins weren't such fucking absolute Nazis. I bought a Neopets account for $200-$250, I don't remember and it was awesome. I didn't have to grind for thousands of hours on stupid flash shit games, had all the nice paintbrushes I wanted to make my Neopet into a pretty sexy girl and I genuinely wanted to just carry on the account and enjoy it.

But nooooo, the Neopet admin assholes had to come in and ban the fucking account 1 week later for literally no reason than another IP was accessing it. Who gives a shit? to be fair, an alien IP accessing an account is a huge red flag, however banning an account due to it is some straight bullshit. Google just sends me emails every once in a while when I log into my account with them after a bit of inactivity.

They pretty much did, but not intentionally, but through the incompetence of their codemonkies that couldn't deal with neopet's dusty, cobweb covered program. I only stay because I'm a lousy addict who has been playing too long to quit. I'm going down with the ship.

The reason why the counter disappeared is still a mystery to me. I'd estimate about fifteen-hundred to two-thousand people might be online during the day, to around half that amount during the late hours. A portion of those only come online to feed their pets then leave.

The last plot I remember was that Faeries in Ruin plot, which took place back in 2012. Other than that, we get the annual Altador Cup and the Daily Dare once or twice a year.

Neopets has no minting cap. The money comes from games, random events, and interest. Using a decent script, you can tug 50-75k from the games a day per account.

Originally there weren't nearly as many games, and no scripts for earning NP, so you there were far fewer points and items in the economy as a whole.

As popularity picked up, more money was being thrown into circulation and being hoarded up by top players. Back in 2006/7, the richest neopian had over 12 billion points in liquid assets, if I'm not mistaken. Since there was no limit to the amount of money, (and you could reasonably make 100k a day), prices skyrocketed. Neopets eventually realized the economy was basically doing to die as soon as the bubble burst and tried to implement more money sinks (such as the 100k per play Wheel of Extravagance) but did it far too late. One the site lost popularity, there was nobody left to sell things at insanely high prices to and the economy crashed. You can see some of the insane fluctuations in Jellyneo's item database. Items went from being like 300k to millions and back to around 100k.

Well, personally, what makes me prefer chias over the other aforementioned pets is that while the base design is indeed boring and unappealing, they also have the ability to be morphed into various fruits and vegetables, giving them more personality imo.
