She's cute in the official art but the illustration looks very "busy" and it's kind of hard to tell what you're even looking at. Her in game sprite is cute, too.

I think the fan art is a large part of what really propelled her to being popular though.

Yeah, it's a shame we didn't get her in FFIX instead of Freya (nothing against her, but Sierra is 10x better)... and to think she was just a "quest character" because of the episodic nature of Legend of Mana, she would've kicked ass if we would've been playable like the side characters in Seiken Densetsu 2 and 3.

I'm disappointed that the Sindoll doujin where Sierra and Daena go to the spa hasn't been translated yet. Even without English language it's my favorite Sierra doujin, but I want to be able to read the context and ecstatic exclamations even if I can kind of piece together what's basically happening.
