Yeah, I actually did try to brainstorm a "breathing" apparatus with BSP, something like using an inflatable bladder and pump that could be placed in the stomach area of the plush so you could make it inhale and exhale, but the idea didn't really hold water. For starters, you'd need to keep manually pumping the air in and out just for the effect, which would detract from cuddling.

Renamon and ponies come out consistently well because they're both pretty easy to stylize into easy-to-make shapes. As long as you aren't requesting something with a lot of precise or complicated bits, you should probably be fine.

And obviously, ordering something they've already made before is going to come out better since they already have a pattern to work from, but if your character's shape is relatively similar it'll likely come out about as well.

I understand it's their own little business they're running and all. They even have very nice forms and detailed information for everything, so they do have that going for them. The issue is that not all of them are up to pay (in my eyes). I know that it takes time and they want them done in a certain amount of time, but still. If it meant waiting several months, start to finish, of them working on it just so it was as good as that Tavi one, I would hop on board instantly and get it decked out. I don't mind waiting, but if the final product isn't what I was expecting then I'll feel cheated out of 800 or whatever bucks.

It may be best to just simply wait and see. If they improve and keep at a constant rate of that Tavi plush, they could easily bring in more business and all. Now I can't speak for BSP's other customers, but BSP and I spent a *long* time discussing Tavi's proportions and features. I drew up diagrams comparing features from previous commissions and showing I wanted them altered/improved for my tastes. I personally believe that part of why Tavi came out the way she did was because I was relentlessly (but politely! =P) diligent and detailed about *exactly* what I wanted, and BSP was accommodatingly... um, accommodating. Sorry, ran out of words there.

Having said all that, I fully understand where you're coming from. We're talking hundreds of dollars here, and BSP's commissions vary considerably in design (due to both BSP's alterations to patterns and also customer requests - e.g. when someone asks for freakishly oversized breasts or something).

Hey guys, I messaged BSP, here's how it works:

Those last parts are both true, as I showed in my earlier posts, two of the features I really focused on were the head shape and the leg thickness. So yeah, if you asked for something like Tavi, plus any modifications/alterations in particular that you might want (remember, the more detailed you are, the better!), that'd be the way to do it.

TL;DR Tavi was modified from the base pony pattern but BSP says they could do it again

BSP's actually opening orders very soon. Addendum to this: when I say "open some dialogue" when the orders open, that doesn't mean necessarily putting in a payment or committing to an order, rather, I think BSP will be more open to establishing contact during an open commission period rather than when they're busy during a closed period. Even if you don't put any money down, at least you've made an expression of interest - and if everything turns out dandy, when they re-open later in the year, you can capitalise on the opportunity and get an actual commission slot yourself!

The only other one who's done anything comparable is the guy who ordered the Sanghelli plush - and I dunno about you guys but something about Octavia in lingerie is far more attractive to me than an Elite doing the same.

I'd have her arrive unstuffed so she can be the firmness I want

so based on her pricing she'd only be about 400 before ship (a price I can live with)

I hope this doesn't make me sound like a cheapskate, but it's still a bit of a craps shoot with their work and it keeps it simple with less of a chance that it'll look "bad" overall

The owner of that Tavi got it at a 'discount' because he was a friend and such. I say 'discount' in quotes because it was practically given to them if that 190 price is accurate. Looking at the guide on the site, getting a standalone anthro pony plush with NOTHING added is already 400. Then there's the fact that it's 35 or so per hole, 40 or something for fabric of the plush, what type of hair, and so on.

As one anon said earlier, we're too skeptical of plopping down 800 or something dollars in the hopes the lightning strikes twice. Those other anthros? They look like a few steps back from Tavi to me. I get where you're coming from. They should use Tavi as the new base for the anthro pony plush. I'm wondering if the lack of quality in most of their items is due to crunching the work schedule so much and trying to get each one done the fastest instead of taking time or if it's just 'easier' to some extent. That NMM one isn't terrible, though the head should be changed for sure. Also, since it's all black, it's hard to really tell proportions in some areas due to the lighting.
