Just my suggestions. Girl Genius has some dark moments, but is overall quite cheerful.
I never really got into webcomics, but I've started reading Poppy O'Possum, and it's not bad.

That's still going, huh? Read it for quite a bit until I realized I couldn't stand the cast and that the character art is the worst type of 90's Americanime art.
I mean, the fact that the comic is called "Girl Genius" should have been enough of a hint. At least the fanbase stopped being toxic, I'll give you that.
