The faction she's part of is called the KSR, a coalition of the countries police, military and intelligence services. And they're directly subservient to the Tsarina of their country (who got assassinated with food poisoning), so it's rather OBVIOUS (as if the whole violent uprising and the phonetically russian sounding gibberish the characters speak in-game isn't evidence enough) that the game is based on both George Orwell's Animal Farm book and the October Revolution.

The 4 factions are split into different ideologies:

Longcoats = blue colour, they're aristocrats and champion capitalism.
Commoners = red colour, they're common folk and champion communism/ social democracy.
Civilized = yellow colour, they're the bureaucrats and the church and champion theocracy.
KSR = green colour, they're the police/ military/ intelligence services who want to elect a new Tsar/ Tsarina, but until one can be found they champion for a stratocracy/ military dictatorship.

Little games like this can take a whole to get picked up on. I recall with Brigador the mainstream didn't even review it, and they gathered some recognition because an article was written about how they were completely ignored and the fact that it, at that point, seemed to be dooming the game and studio.

They weren't wrong, either. I was surprised when it came out on Steam. Some of those outlets seemed pretty positive about the trailers, but didn't even give a heads up when the game hit the shelves. And as a consumer, I'm much more interested in what I can buy now, versus which overproduced piece of AAA garbage studios want me to buy a year from now.

At least shit got better. It used to be that games would be hyper for years on end. Daikatana is an infamous example.

On the plus side most of the Let's Play community that focuses primarily on RTS or strategy games in general has jumped on this title, and are focusing on the merits/demerits of gameplay and story without dismissing it blindly as furbait.

That last part might be an immediate turn off for a lot of consumers of RTS titles, but if the reviewing communities can give it a fair shot, hopefully other consumers will too and spread the word.

Smaller devs making good games need this kind of boost.

I've got a friend who whines about furries a lot, but he's seen Zootopia, so I guess it's all just posturing.
