it's the 90s and we just got our first computer, an ancient Compaq my dad dredged up somewhere, with a barrel key lock on the front to keep it from booting unless you have the key. It's set up on the dinner table so we can all look at it, and it boots to Windows 3.1. all the previous owner's documents are there, because you can still log into secure servers as a guest. it has a two-button, DIN mouse with a ball. we marvel over the future, surrounded by hardwood and floral wallpaper, sitting around the dinner table-Mom, Dad, and seven-year-old me, surrounded by the smell of dust, hot electronics, faint notes of wood polish, and of age.

Had to give them up when I moved.

Both of them got adopted but I have no idea who ended up with the older one (14). The younger one was just over a year old, and he's in an adoption group for Maine Coons since he's half and half Maine Coon and Manx.

the older one got sent to a Humane Society but the lady who took him there for me lied about where she found him so they'd take him in. I didn't check in on him because I was broken up about my mom and by the time I mustered up the willpower he'd been adopted out, and since they think he was a stray they don't believe me when I tell them he's mine.

the bitch who took him threw out the paperwork when he was adopted because "oh well he's safe that's all that matters"

bitch he's my fucking cat, I had him longer than I've had any of my friends, he slept next to me after my mom died

Had a couple cats, I don't into cat breeds though, they were both tiger striped and stuff, one was black and grey, other was orange and cream.

I actually have tons of mountains and trees, more than the grand majority of the US has available. I occasionally drive my street car up mountains on paved and unpaved roads to shoot guns and walk around or whatever but only so much of any given day can involve those things as things are expensive even if you already own the guns and the mountains are mere minutes away. I'v also tried some nerd hobbies like MTG and D&D but wasn't able to keep the energy and effort they require going.

oh it's THAT. you know what i found acctually helped me? forcing myself to be happy and celebrate small things, like forcing myself to smile and say "fuck yeah!" when something good happened. e.g. when I'd find the coin i dropped, usually I'd be pissed that i dropped it then neutral about finding it.... i realised... I was missing something, i should have been happy about finding it right? because this coin was so imoprtant I got pissed off about losing it! so I'd force myself to be happy about little things and it made me feel better overall and ACTUALLY START TO ENJOY THE LITTLE THINGS!!! mind body connection goes further than you think. then I fucked my life up and I'm back to square one but doing that again now days.

God tonight's such a terrible night. I can't fall asleep without at least talking about this, none of my friends are online but goddamn I need to get this off my chest.
Just got done being a private group conversation of the higher ups/close friends in my discord group that has been around since the group was first started about 5 years ago on skype.
Since the start I'm already nervous because the chill dude I'm extremely close with tells me he has to have a "serious conversation" with me and some of the others before adding me to a private group chat. Long story short, it turns out that my best friend of 6 years has been constantly creepily asking my other friend for nudes. She's chill as hell and has given out nudes before but he kept asking way too much to the point where he was told to stop but just kept asking in other conniving manipulative ways. My issue is that not only is he my best friend but he's the creator of the group as well as generally a sad guy with a pretty sad life. His dad recently passed away this summer and when I went to stay over at his place to visit it wasn't exactly the best living quality. He also just cries a lot, a pathetically uncomfortable amount.
The issue kept being brought up to him but he just never stopped being a creep so everyone wanted him kicked out and I was giving the task of being the person to ask him to kindly leave, and if he didn't the others would just forcefully kick him out.
The hard part isn't getting him to leave, since he'll understand why I'm telling him that he can't stay in his own chat and he'll just voluntarily leave because he just constantly leaves the group whenever his depression hits anyways. The hard part is making myself feel okay that we're doing that to him. I kind of just feel cruel doing it despite it being basically the group's decision.

I've seen them classified as alot of different things like alt,emo,post-hardcore and pop punk but their sound changes pretty dramatically from album to album so I like to just think of them as their own thing.If anything I'd say their emo. I've been following them since I was small. I still think their best albums are The Devil and God are Raging Inside Me and Daisy are still their best albums.

But yeah for real it turns out it's way easy for anyone who feels down for a month or two to suddenly think it's enough to qualify for pity points from their peers. I think its worse when you have friends, family or roomates that went through situational depression and think that they have the cure for depression or that its easy to get over. My current roomate broke up with a long term girlfriend and had situational depression for 2 months before starting rock climbing and getting another girlfriend. I've had severe suicidal depression for over 13 years and he keeps insisting to me how easy it is to just get over depression. I told him that saying stuff like that just made my suicidal thoughts much much stronger but he ignored it and said "you just have to rock climb bro, everyone has depression you just have to rock climb". I did try it multiple times, I didn't feel anything just like how I never feel anything. Now my roomates just think I am lazy or not trying hard enough to feel better. Nope, I've tried pretty much everything and am now on meds and smoke weed to keep the thoughts at bay. This is the best I've been in over a decade and even then its still not enough to pull me out from being a useless piece of shit. Both my parents and my brother have had severe depression all their lives and all are on meds so I am pretty sure its genetic. I just want to live peacefully and die without any children so I don't have to pass this shit onto another generation. But leaving in peace is too much to ask now in days anyway. I keep my shit to myself and my family because depression is a literal mental plague and if you care about anyone you best keep it bottled up unless you want them to catch the disease as well.

I totally get the thing about not wanting to talk to people about it. I spoke to this counselor by chance once and she said the hardest thing is that no one sees it and no one understands, because it's not always on the surface, so they don't believe you! Which has unfortunately been my experience. I remember when a doctor told me I was depressed for the first time.. I was like
