Different writefag that "tore" into him here. Here is a sample of something I started but never finished in July of last year sine you are curious: https://pastebin.com/XQwZcnsB
Do you want your two minutes of hate now because you feel Teether has suffered an injustice. He asked for criticism, so I gave my opinions to him. If you think they are vicious, then ask yourself why you chose to be offended by anons' opinions on Teether's work. I don't see you offering any criticism at all for Teether. I also don't see you posting your own work to validate your position as someone to offer criticism of others either. Funny as you demanded the other writefag to show his credibility while withholding your own. You can throw stones from your glass house all day, but don't be surprised when someone sends you one back.

Ah, you mean how I put a letter or two onto the dialogue in places where multiple characters were talking? I suppose I didn't need to do it, but I saw that others had done it in the past before, and it seemed like a clear way to signify who was talking during scenes where more than just two people are speaking. I'm sorry you're not fond of it.

Does anyone else have a problem with this? I can always try and write my dialogue without them and just attempt to make things clearer to understand, if people would find that better.
>>
>>11480320
I think something like
>z said, "y"
>"b," replied a
would be a better way to format it.
>>
>>11480438
Doesn't just having
z: "Y"
seem simpler though? I feel like your way might be a bit cluttered, don't you? One of the reasons I chose to do it the way I did it was because it was a simple thing to denote who was talking.
>>
>>11480237
So a few things, the first being myself as the one who originally asked that question -
I stated before that I use 'tore into' because to me, that is what it was like. It was brutal in the amount of detail in every point made, and Teether took it like a champ

>which is to be expected, as he was one of the nicest people in the /yeen/ thread

So I didn't mean it as a stab at people. The second bit you actually linking a pastebin, that's nice. I can now go through it, form my own opinions on what you thought went right/wrong, and ultimately go "Oh, this person actually does know what he's talking about. Maybe now I should go back to the previous arguments and read through them again."

>chose to be offended by anons' opinions on Teether's work
Third, I wasn't offended at all. Ultimately I just wanted to see if those arguably valid points were backed by someone who in turn actively follows those principles. Nothing is more obnoxious to me when people try to claim facts without actual experience with what they try to say. Something that, now, doesn't apply to you

>I don't see you offering any criticism at all for Teether.
Well, I don't write. I don't have any criticism to offer him. If I were, that would be damaging to his desire to write, and I don't want to be responsible for that as I do like what he does casually and want to see more. I just know what I find nice to read through and stick to it. So I don't have any work to post either, that wasn't my point.

>you can throw stones from your glass house all day, but don't be surprised when someone sends you one back.
I arrived rather late to the thread, right when the second wave of points started to appear, so I hope you don't associate me with people trying to meme away your valid criticisms
>>
>>11480523
>>11478845
>>11480021

I can respect that stance, it being closely tied to your real identity. No worries about that then.

I can put myself in your shoes too. A virtual lego simulator is what pays for my schooling, room, and board. I've put in a lot of effort into it, and the result of that is a substantial amount of people I don't want finding me either. I guess I'l just keep my assumption and hope that I'm right, and if I am, then I believe your points at Teether were entirely fair.

>no one knows that I browse /fur/ threads.

>We only get 2000 chars a post, so economising is somewhat important.
>What I used to do was, whoever's perspective you're in at the moment, ie Anon or some other character,
you just leave whatever they're saying out loud
>Outside of the greentext, like that.
>Then, when you get to another character, you
>"Type it like a normal quote", says some anonymous prick who thinks he deserves an opinion.

At least, that's how I used to do it.
>>
>>11481271
Ahh, I suppose part of the confusion comes from the fact that I write my stories to be placed on Pastebin, and then transfer them over here as best I can. I'm not too worried about the character limit, especially since I imagine that those that are interested in seeing my writings would go to Pastebin typically any ways.

As for your suggestion, well, I typically keep Anon's text without quotes or > arrows. I suppose that, given how little he typically talks, that's not the biggest worry, but it's an easy way to differentiate between other voices and his, and it also shows him as a bit of an outsider.

For the
>"Type it like a normal quote", says some anonymous prick who thinks he deserves an opinion.
part, I don't know if I'd want to do that, as it means that someone might accidentally miss a line here or there as they pass over it, their brain thinking of it like the rest of the more descriptor lines that begin with an >. I mostly worry about confusion in my writing, and wanting to keep things as clear as possible.

Thoughts, anyone? If people do like one form more than another, I can always try and modify my writing from now on to better assist with others reading it.

I think people were just concerned with loosing writefags from the criticism, and out of it came a knee jerk reaction. Don't feel bad about shitting up /trash/, just expect nothing to go right here.

Don't worry anon-kun, I'm definitely continuing the story! I've got most of Chapter four done, as well as maybe a bit of Chapter five? I'm not sure yet on that one, as I'm debating how long the next part of what I'm currently writing up is going to be, whether or not it warrants a new Chapter and all that.

I'm glad to hear you're enjoying it though, thank you! One thing I do want to ask, though, is do you dislike useless pets, or people fucking useless pets?

I was really really tired when I wrote that, ha!. I ment that I dislike the virgin beta stereotype without any character development or attachment to the wellbeing of thier owner in the face of conflict.

Yeah, that makes sense. I was actually fairly inspired by Runner in To Tame a Human when I was originally making my story. I liked the sort of dynamic he had going on, and that has translated a little into who my Anon is/will be. He's not a wilting flower by any means, and he may prove to be quite useful later on!

I'm glad you're liking who he is, even if he doesn't quite fall into the same category as other Anons.
>>
>>11495410
Even if he was on the scrawny side if he's self aware to go "Wait, hold up. This isnt fucking right. what can I do to make it better?" Then he's pretty good in my book
>>
>>11495654
Ah, about the situation that Bryce and the rest of the Bats are in currently?
>>
>>11495725
Thats a good example, yes. Anon is smart enough to remember his high school history lessons about nobility and the confines one works in to play tithe to a king. In essence it seems to play into his character as well with his owner. (but I'm also fond of the trope of servents becoming more. Like a knight or body guard)
>>
>>11496071
Yeah, you'd definitely be right about that! In some regards, while he saved Bryce, she also saved him, considering what an awful shape he was in when they found each other. There is, perhaps, a certain loyalty there, as well as the factor that, going off of what he knows about Bats, and what he's heard, Bryce and her people are stuck in a poor position. While he might not be a Noble, or seemingly capable of great change in the world, he still wants to try and do the right thing, to help those who need it.

Bryce also has that going on, though I think that'll become a bit more evident with future Chapters. Anon's gotten more screen time due mainly to the fact that he's the Anon of this story, but Bryce, and others, will be getting more development as well!

(As for the trope you mentioned, it might very well happen later on!)
>>
>>11496204
I'm always looking forwards to more updates. Also is Bryce a Megabat?

I kinda wanna write up an intro or first chapter revolving around an entire commercial airliner full of humans swapping places with an identical airliner filled with furries and what happens in the ensuing hours, but after that I don't really know where to take the story, and as such I'm unsure whether to put in the effort to write up the first chapter if I'm not sure where to take it from there
in essence I have a cool idea but no story to go with it.

thoughts?

fuck I'm retarded and forgot to add on to it
basically that and then filling in the juicy bits as you write it out. If you want start writing the points you lay out first and connect the dots later
>>
>>11499656
ah, I see what you mean, thanks for the advice, anon
for now I guess I'll write up the sort of first chapter to see how it goes and if any ideas pop up for where to take it past that then I'll look into writing more
>>
>>11499680
speaking of juicy bits, I think it'll do me good to shy away from any smut for atleast the first two or three chapters, so as to make it not centered around the sex life of two characters
>>
>>11499429
So basically The Langoliers except it wouldn't scare the living piss out of an eight-year-old me if made into a television miniseries?
>>
>>11499817
If I was writing an actual story for anon's to get interested in I would let smut take a back seat to workbuilding and action. Let the fluff bring it to life and it makes the sexual encounters that much more meaningful and with your added fluff your readers get a better idea of how anatomy and beauty in your world is shapened
>>
>>11499834
I'm afraid I don't know what The Langoliers is so I have no idea if it would or wouldn't scare the eight-year-old you.
to be honest, I kinda took the mystery plane idea from the opening of The Strain, as it seemed like a cool concept

alright, a quick Google search later and I can see what you mean. it somewhat would be like that, but with a duality in the sense that the fur and human airliners have switched places over some spooky place like Bermuda triangle, and don't realize anything is amidst right up until they land, where the first and most notable sign of the swap being the ground crew. I might incorporate a "happy ending" where both groups return to their respective worlds by retracing the steps that led to their initial swap, but I don't want that to happen immediately as it would make the story short and probably unenjoyable

>"Come on, little guy.." the big furry hold my hand into the white box. Is this my toy?
>The big furry open the door, and there was mom! On a black small bed.
>I ran inside the white box and seeing my mom sleeping with a weird plunger on her mouth.
>One of a animal, who's a doe, told me to sit down
>I feel the white box rumbles as we drive away our home. Where are we going? Are going to a park?
>I looked at the windows and see our park, only, were not stopping.
>Hmm, are we going to a circus?
>I felt my shoulders touched by one of a nurses hand as I responded by looking at her.
>"Um, I believe this is yours." She said as she gave me a paper.
>I grab the paper and what's in the paper is... Me and Mom. Cuddling in our favorite park looking happy as ever as usual.
>As usual...
>You know, I remember when my mom spanked me and she sent to my room and I would always cry under my blanket. She would always walk to my room and just, suddenly, sleep under with me. I remember when I look at her face when she was under the covers, she gave me that smile. She even laughs and starts hugging me.
>I remember when she and I watch a black box with colorful things going on as we sit on the couch. I don't know why my Mom always laugh at the box, but for some reasons, I laugh along with her.
>I remember when she went outside and we play chase at our favorite park with our energy. I'm really good at that game! Mom always lose when I catch her.
>I remember when we lost all our energy and lay down at the floor, she whispers into my ears and say "I love you".
>I don't know what that means, but it gave me this warm feeling of comfort.
>Is this my toy? A toy that gives me happiness?
>...
>I look at Mom. She's asleep, but still have that weird plunger on her mouth.
>I slowly walk to my mom.
>As I made it too mom, I look at the paper of me and my Mom. Being happy.
>I gave Mom a hug.
>Thank you, Mom. This is the best toy ever!

Thanks. I knew this idea would best fit in this universe. Children can tell a dead person when seeing one. But when a pet sees a dead body, they don't know what to react. Are they happy to see their owners is with them despite their soul being gone? Or will they notice? The idea capture my attention when I was thinking about it.

Not really, admittly. But it's touching and sad to see pet's acknowledging their owner's death. Makes you wonder if they ever tried to move on or their mind still locked on their owners. I doubt pet's can be delusion, but it would make a good story for a work of fiction

Great going, champ.

Even if it wasn't "for precise aiming" (this is a stupid reply by the way) the fact is there's completely unusable sights featured on the weapon in question. It's like putting tires on the roof of a car and then mumbling "yes but it's not for racings of fast." Yo I'm ready for Medieval Anon. I'm hype as fuck, that and An Unlikely Bride gave me enough inspiration to work on my vampire story
>>
>>11550398
>Damn it, I put the Mongolian part from your post into the title. Apologies.
Be careful with stuff like that, you might tempt me to make another historical fiction and this time one might see the light of day.

>or it got linked to?
A possibility for sure. You're welcome for the advice though, I get a little annoyed when people see a youtube video and take it a bit too far. Since your bats are poor and seem to have less farm space than would be necessary for cloth-based armors, I think leather was the way to go.

>I'll definitely give your story a look soon enough! Do you regularly hang out in the Kobold thread?
Thank you, and yes I do. At least until my gift to the kobold enthusiasts are done, I might move on and write somewhere else after that.
>>
>>11550422
Thank you, anon! I'll try and have the next chapters out soon! Six is nearly done as well, and I'm debating whether or not to include it in the next ones I post, or keep doing this whole two-chapters-at-a-time thing I've got going on. Also, go for it, it's always great to have more writers around!

>>11550749
Case in point!

>make another historical fiction
Sounds like it could be interesting to me! Is it /PoFg/ related, or Kobolds, or actual history?

>Since your bats are poor and seem to have less farm space
Yeah, like I've said, I'm not the most knowledgeable about all this stuff, so help and ideas are useful. There are animals in this world, non-sentient, non-Human ones I mean, though they're a bit different than the kinds we know, but that's where they can get some of their gear from. Leather shouldn't be too hard to come by, and the Bats aren't completely cut off from benefits and favors, just poorly favored, really.

>I might move on and write somewhere else after that
Any thoughts of where that place might be? It seems we share somewhat similar interests, after all.
>>
>>11550986
>Historical fiction
You mean... make a story on how the world became to be?
>>
>>11551169
Well, it doesn't have to just be about that. It could be set in some point in history, or be about an event that took place, or some other such thing.
>>
>>11550986
>or actual story?
>Mongolian Bride
I don't know, you tell me. :D
>so help and ideas are useful
Well, let's be fair here, most of my "writing" is actually just obsessive world-building because I can't cope with real life stress any other way than clinging on for dear life as my brain casually disregards reality to think up stuff. Your brief description sounds good, rather straightforward solution to the, "but the animals are also people," problem that isn't weird. (like, you know, anthro cows milking regular cows) Since your bats seem to be neck-deep in forests, trapping and hunting probably would substitute for ranching rather well. People sometimes forget that very fertile land can support a fuckload of grazing animals. Oh, and couple that with the complete misunderstanding and ignorance of medieval hunting methods and animal husbandry. For your setting, if you have forest-dwelling browsers that form herds I'd suggest having your bats use pit traps and cheap fencing to funnel animals in. It's one of the oldest methods to kill a lot of animals really, really fast and if successful. I would suggest a lack of spikes in the pit, we are trying to harvest hide too.

"Benefits and favors" is something you'll have to explain a bit, because I just don't get what you mean. If they're not so well-liked it doesn't make so much sense that they would be given anything, so they probably need some trade good(s) that affords them enough to remain friendly, but not too valuable so they're a target.

>Any thoughts of where that place might be?
No idea, I mostly keep to myself. I literally have no friends and I sometimes go almost a week without uttering a word.

>>11551169
"Historical fiction" means fiction based in a historical context, in this case a story about a Mongolian bride. None of the characters have to be real, but the setting and plot have to have some basis in reality.

I love to see your world building writing! Seems a lot of gun!
>>
>>11551359
>:D
Hey now, for all I know, your Kobold story might be set on an alternate Earth or something like some of this threads' stories are.

>obsessive world-building
Thank you for even more ideas and advice! The Forest certainly would provide plenty of spaces for them to hunt as it is large and the darkness of it can obscure view, as well as the fact that sudden light, like from a torch, could be used to startle animals into traps and the like. As for the animals themselves, well, my main idea was having it be something like Humans and monkeys in our world. I was thinking of it as, much like how Humans evolved from a lesser form, that being apes, there too still exist older, more fully-animal versions of Furs and the like. So, to use your cow analogy, something like Anthro cows milking different, far more primitive versions of cows as we know them.

I imagine what I just wrote sounds like a bit of a clusterfuck here, but it makes sense in my head, and it should hopefully make more sense when they come up in-story.

>they probably need some trade good(s) that affords them enough to remain friendly, but not too valuable
Well, I don't want to go too deeply into it, as I'm going to incorporate it into the story eventually, but one thing that the Bats have access to right off the bat (badum tsh) is the Forest, or more accurately, massive potential amounts of wood and other plant life, though like many things in this world, it's not quite that easy.

> sometimes go almost a week without uttering a word
Honestly I'm not typically around myself, but I just try and keep up with the thread, so I can understand where you're coming from there, Anon.
>>
>>11551430
>Seems a lot of gun!
Haha, whoops? Anyway, I have a few of those stories too; just not in with this sword and magic stuff. I have an entire world set up specifically for the post-apocalypse, I feel like I should be posting more of that universe soon.

>>11551499
>Hey now, for all I know, your Kobold story might be set on an alternate Earth or something
Well that's better than being mistaken for Skyrim, but it's an understandable mistake given the terms and the fact that the wide-open steppes of the north are called "the Reach."
>Thank you for even more ideas and advice!
No problem! Honestly, since I know what you're trying to do now, I'd suggest going backward in evolutionary history and then finding evolutionary dead-ends since they sometimes have really cool features that just sucked for where they were. I don't know how much research you've done so far, but that's what I did for something else. (ghostwriter)
>massive potential amounts of wood and other plant life
Just to save you some headache and potential questions from detail-oriented folks (or screeching from weirdos) I'd advise the trees being hard to grow in any way other than naturally and producing fruits. It's simple, fulfills the needs, and gives the bats a niche role there. (being able to fly and crawl in the trees)

Wood is one of those weird resources that nobody's gone to war over unless it was some weird circumstances. Well, that's not entirely true, people have gotten very pissed when some assholes come by and chop their forests down many times throughout history. I have a pretty brutal war in my setting that has careless logging as casus belli for both it and the smaller-scale sequel.

I also would suggest that any logging be done by humans and not bats, they just could not physically do it on a large scale. You'll see why right away in your research.
>>
>>11551741
>going backward in evolutionary history and then finding evolutionary dead-ends
I'm planning on trying to find good examples to run with, though some will more than likely need to change. It'd be odd to have, say, horse people looking back at huge horse-creatures, and then the Bats pick up an an old Bat-creature they can hold in their hands cause it's so small.

> I'd advise the trees being hard to grow in any way other than naturally and producing fruits
I might add that in later on, yeah. I already set the trees up as being pretty huge and sunlight-blocking, but still, I don't think that'd stop me from adding some more to them. There are reasons that it's useful for the Bats that the woods are like this, but yeah, the fruit could be a helpful addition.

I do think that the trees being trees make them a helpful resource, but definitely not something that can't be gotten any where else, which, I don't know, tempers how much people would want to fight the Bats to take over the land.

As for the logging, I didn't actually plan for the Bats to do it, nor for Humans. The way I have it set up, at least at the moment, is that the logging is done by a different Noble house and is somewhat overseen by the Bats, or something along a similar line. It's not easy for them to do the logging of such ancient plants themselves, so they've made a sort of deal with another Noble to handle the more physical labor-based part of things. Again, like with the animals, it may sound weird in here, but please trust me when I say there's at least a little bit of a method to the madness.

>Pets of furries
What exactly does that mean?
Is it like owning a pet, except the pet is an anthro (or possibly feral) girl/herm/shemalr constantly lusting over her owner?
One of my deepest fetish is owning a bunch of sexually obsessed anthro pets, spending their days thinking about pleasuring their owner.
For example, when the owner walks by, the pets in the room throw themselves on their knees, opening their maw as mide as they can in hopes that their owner puts its dick inside. When he does, it's such an honor and excitement that the ones allowed to taste his dick can litterally have an orgasm from giving head.

I know it's fucked up, but man that gets me off in no time.

>it'd get flak
Okay, I read it and I've busted out the Bofors so here's what I've got:
>You have a bad habit (that I also share) for making run-ons.
>Also you interrupt speech with a single dash, I believe proper form is two or three. (I use two)
>I was also taught that a comma goes inside quoted dialogue in place of a period, but that might just be Americans.
>Line ten has a double space and I *assume* "anon" goes in there. Or maybe you just left it blank for later, but I caught it.
Those tiny, tiny things are the only bits of criticism I could muster. Very well-written in my opinion, seems crisp and clear like we're seeing this from the perspective of an aviation professional. Personally? I would find a way to chip off the end of that last paragraph to make it flow better, it's the largest one you have and stands out. That end where they both say the same thing could use it's own little line, I think it visually pops better.

It's not quite a cure, but it is treatment, I need more if I'm going to survive. Maybe someday soon I can go watch The Langoliers again. I also fukken saved your pic related, hope I get a chance to use it soon.
>>
>>11565950
>busted out the bofors
good laugh at that
>double space in line ten
oops my bad, accidentally hit space twice there. thanks for catching that
>comma in place of period
you know, I'm not too sure how the rules go for quoted dialogue. I though commas were for situations like
"I say," X said "that blah blah.", where you have an interruption in the text to add in the "X said"
>interrupt speech with double, not single dash
whoops didn't know, will go fix that
>run ons
man, that one always gets me. it's very hard for me to find the right place to stop your sentence sometimes, especially if I'm describing something like in the first paragraph.

I have to thank you for even the little bits of critism, because you help me develop and refine the story, like spotting the typos or improper dialogue stop, etc.
For the aviation professional look, I binged a few audio logs of radio traffic between air and ground, and then read up on some details like the napping and the plug doors. In addition, I also read that some pilots are licensed to carry a firearm in defense, and I'm considering adding it for extra tension
Admittedly, I rushed the last paragraph, I just wanted to have something to post by at most Friday night. I'll go back over it tomorrow or whenever I get a chance and see about refining it a bit, and you're absolutely right, I should pop that dialogue out into it's own line for emphasis.
I hope you enjoy the saved pic, it's a cool one. And I also hope to get more "treatment" out by atleast Monday night. That should set out atleast a decent posting schedule for me.
>>

I chuckled when it came to me.
>thanks for catching that
Typos rarely get past me if I'm alert, and since I'm in the middle of writing (while jamming to some olde tunes where the beat doth droppe) I'm ready to catch all the little errors.
>I'm not too sure how the rules go for quoted dialogue
"Well," anon began, carefully considering his words, "it could always look like this."

Another anon lit up, fresh with his own perspective. "Or like this! This works too!"

"Perhaps it does," the first anon conceded. After a bit of thought he then added, "it really depends on the way it's done."

>I have to thank you for even the little bits of critism
You're welcome though, I sometimes have moments where my writing just goes ninety degrees somewhere else. I suffered a pretty bad whack to the head some years back, I have issues. By the way, "criticism" was spelled wrong. :P

fuck

I kinda try and refrain from listening to music while writing since it somehow distracts me, but only ever when I'm writing, for whatever reason, not when I'm doing other work. Frustrating as fuck. Anyways, thanks again for the feedback, I'll be sure to try and continue the story further
>>
>>11566330

Music for me works just great, I guess I'm one of those people. Sometimes it can be a bit distracting, I've been doing some writing to Tengger Cavalry (somebody here showed me it) and it's helped me set the mood for myself to delve into some serious killin' and beatin' of stuff. I posted links to my posts over in the kobold thread above, I don't want to spam the thread with cross-posting nonsense.

Not the same Anon, but if you ever wanted a villain in a story, you could just use the furry world's equivalent of PETA, PETH. Massive business(basically) that kills, what, 1,000-2,000 Humans per-year?

Could have Anon just hanging out in his owners yard and a van pulls up, two Furries get out, grab him, and shove him inside. From there, he has to escape before being killed, and then figure out a way to take PETH down.
>>
>>11596524

>>
>>11596668
Not him, but you should do a little research into that. They kill a fuckload of animals because they say they can't afford them, but yet they run multi-million dollar ad campaigns that nobody pays attention to and some people willfully spite.
>>
>>11596668
I'm going to post a pastebin link to just a few sites of the many out there, but, since 1998 they have killed approximately 36,381 animals that they have taken in. They're also in multiple laswsuits for the tons of shady shit they do, including stealing and euthanizing peoples pets, and giving out gruesome, lying propaganda to children and others.

They're pretty horrible overall, hence them being a good villain.

CHAPTER FOUR
~~~~~~~~~~
>Bryce followed after the Elder, walking behind him as he led the way to his home
>He held the door open for her, though, allowing her to enter before him
>Once inside, he shut the door and walked over to a large table set in the center of the main room of the building
>Slowly, he opened a cabinet, and withdrew a large, cloth-like scroll that he began to unfurl over top of the table
>As he moved, it was easy to see that his large cloak was actually his wings, which he kept wrapped around himself
>Bryce stood to the side, examining what new treasures and items the old Bat might have added to his collections
>He'd always had a fondness for sparkly things
"So, Bryce, you finally got yourself a Human, hmm?"
>He asked, a certain inquisitive tone to his voice
"Yes, I did indeed. I'm glad he has not seemed overwhelmed by our home."
"A worry worth contemplating, but it seems you have indeed found yourself quite the beast!"
"Elder!"
"Apologies, apologies, I was merely commenting on how large he appears! It is not often you find a Human of that height, and even moreso, of that build!"
>>
>>11599403
"Yes, he certainly is...remarkable."
>When she spoke, the Elder turned his head to look at her, thumbs and wings smoothing out the cloth before he stepped to the side to go fetch something, calling out to her to speak
"Hm? Is their something affecting your admiration, my dear?"
"What? No, no, he's most definitely a fine Human. I was mostly thinking of the...unique circumstances that brought him to me."
"Aren't those typically known as trappers or breeders, Bryce?"
"Nothing of the sort. He appeared out of nowhere when I was in danger, covered in injuries. Still, despite them, he fought to help protect me, a stranger."
"You speak like he's one of the noble Humans from your stories, my dear~"
>He replied, a soft, warm tone in his voice, the Elder walking back into the room
>He smiled at Bryce, and she returned it, soon following him to the table
"I'm not quite sure what he is, Elder. What I DO know is that fate, it seems, has seen fit to bring us together for the time being. I have no way of knowing what the future holds, but I do know that it feels just a tiny bit more secure than it did the day before."
>He laughed, placing down a few crudely-cut wooden figures, setting them up at different locations on what turned out to be a large map
"You talk of him with riddles and respect! Well, whatever he is to you, however he has come to be with you, if it makes you smile such as you have been, then I am happy that you found him~"
>They shared smiles once again before beginning to mull over the map in front of them
~~~~~~~~~~
>>
>>11599421

~~~~~~~~~~
>As the little Bats led him through their...uh...base?
>Town?
>Hidden Village of the Leaf Clan?
>Whatever
>As they led Anon along, showing him one interesting sight after another, he couldn't help but think back to Bryce and the Bat she'd called 'Elder'
>They talked pretty casually, something that seemed especially odd to Anon, given his, admittedly small, knowledge of the past
>Typically, he recalled nobility getting respect from all those who talked to them
>Unless you were a Noble yourself, you couldn't usually just call a Noble by their first name, or offer them advice
>Right?
>Then again, maybe it had something to do with how they raised their young?
>He really wished Bryce were here so she could talk to him and answer his questions
>And it wasn't like it was worth blowing his cover to talk to these children
>They might be smart enough to walk him around, but he doubted they'd know enough about these matters
>Speaking of which, what about-
~~~~~~~~~~
>>
>>11599445

~~~~~~~~~~
"So, you say the attack happened over here, then?"
"Yes, they attacked when we were slowly moving through the area. I am less worried about the fact that there was an attack and more so how close it was to the castle, and therefor, the Forest."
"And there was no official way to tell whose soldiers they were?"
"Well, yes and no."
"Hm?"
"I recognized one of them, but I don't really have any way to prove it was him."
>The old Bat frowned at that, taking a seat in one of the chairs ringing the large table and map
"Who was he?"
"Williams. I'd recognize his eyes anywhere."
>A silence grew in the room like a bubble, getting bigger and bigger until it finally popped
"Well, at the moment, I see two major points you can attempt to use. The first is you can go to see the King and ask him to place more guards on patrol on the roads. While it might not do much, especially if Williams is one of those that are attacking people, it WILL curb some violence, to a degree."
>She nodded examining the map, before her eyes wandered back to him
"The second point is the festival that's happening within a month, is it not?"
"Indeed it is. This will be an excellent chance to gain some favor with the King. Of course, we may wind up aggravating more of the nobility should we do too well."
>He said, looking back to Bryce
>>
>>11599454
>She was staring at the map attentively
>Hand at her chin and finger pressed to her lips while she thought
"I suppose we have no choice but to upset them. Should it come back to harm us, do not worry, I will claim the consequences."
>A scoff drew her out of her thoughts and over to him
"You may be nobility, but don't look down upon the rest of us. We're a family, and we will all band together as one should the worst come to pass."
>She nodded, a certain pinkness to her cheeks
>She always felt embarrassed when he pulled rank on her
>She didn't really FEEL 'better' than any other Bat, but such was the way with stature
"Now, shall we go over strategies? We have much to discuss for the festival."
"Yes, let's."
~~~~~~~~~~

>His train of thought was derailed by a stick as it was waved in his face
>Well, it was closer to his chest, as well as bouncing up and down
>Tybbie wasn't a tall Bat, after all
>Still, he was trying to best to get Anon's attention
>Had he really been that out of it?
"Aaaaaanoooooon! come on, Anon, get the stick! Do you want the stick, boy? Do you?"
>Well, he didn't dislike sticks, he supposed
"Go get it, Anon~!"
>Watching the branch fly into the bushes, Anon made a decision
>He'd try and keep his mind off of inquisitive questions and rambling ideas that took up space in his head
>For now, he'd try and enjoy a relaxing, fun, hour or two

~~~~~~~~~~
>>
>>11599481
~~~~~~~~~~

>Had it really already been a few hours?
>The time she spent with the Elder just flew past
>Then again, they WERE talking about important matters
>She hoped Anon wasn't too bored
>They'd mostly figured out a strategy, though they both knew that a large part of it would rely on a gamble or three
>While the Festival might be discussed as a display of skill and aptitude from the houses of the various Nobles, deep down it was anything but
>The world wasn't so kind as to make things even
>That's just the way things were
>While such a defeated attitude might have sounded sad to some, Bryce, and most of her people, had accepted this simple truth of the world
>That didn't mean she couldn't fight to change it
"I think that should suffice, Elder."
"Yes, anything more and I fear we might begin to overthink things, even for us."
"Like usual, the outcome of this Festival is up to the strength of our people, and the favor of the Gods."
>She gave him a confused look when he chuckled
"Ahh, I like that one."
"Did I say something funny, Elder?"
"No no, not at all my dear. Quite the opposite really."
>He explained, though it really didn't make her feel any less confused
>While she sat, he slowly started to clear the dishes they had left
>He was quite fascinating to watch work
>He had been born with arms and hands made more for flight
>Unlike Bryce herself, for instance, who had hands and minor wings mostly attached to her arms
>The Elder had proper wings, a thumb sticking up, while his fingers extended down, longer and longer, resulting in huge wings he could use to fly with
>Though, she couldn't really recall the last time she'd seen him use them for that purpose
>Well, he was pretty old, after all
>>
>>11599506

"By the way, there was one aspect of the Festival we have yet to talk about."
"Oh? Which spot is that, Elder?"
"Lord Rammstein's additional 'tournament'. If we're planning on trying our hardest to win favor, submitting Anon could be-"
"Elder! Do you really think I'd submit Anon to such...barbarity? Lord Rammstein may hold his little 'tournament' and it may be a good 'in' with him, but I will not submit my pet to such an event!"
"I apologize, Bryce, but you must see the benefit of placing him in it, yes? He's larger and stronger than most other Humans we know, and you yourself have said about how he fought to defend you. Does he not seem like the right Human for the task?"
"I have no way of knowing what might take place there, Elder, and I will not risk my pet's life for it! Speaking of which, I believe I shall collect him and go."
"Allow me to once more offer my apologies Bryce. I do not wish to offend you, I merely think of our people and the benefit this could have for us all. Still, if you'd wish me not to speak of it again, I shall remain silent."
"Yes, I think that would be for the best. Thank you for the talk, Elder."
>Bryce said, getting up without another word before the Elder could react
>She marched over to the door, opened it, lamp light streaming in, and then headed outside
"Anon! Where are you?"
>She called out, not even bothering to look back, the Elder standing in the doorway of his home, watching her
>Not too long after she'd called, Sy emerged from the bushes, soon followed by Anon
>He had Tybbie on his shoulders, the little Bat laughing, while he also held on to a smaller bat's (Gabby, was it?) hand
>Spreading her arms, Bryce drifted to the ground easily, touching down with practiced grace
>>
>>11599528

>Walking over, Sy stood to attention, and bowed, with only a hint of flourish
>Okay, the spinning hand and large, sweeping arm gestures might have been a bit much, but still, a commendable effort
"I..We, showed your Human around, Lady Bryce, and now we've brought him back!"
>Said the little Bat proudly, Sy clearly puffing his chest out to try and impress her
>Of course, one serious gesture deserves another, and so she reached out, placing a hand on his shoulder
"Thank you very much, Sy~ I truly appreciate your, and your friends', effort to help not only my Human, but myself as well."
>From the way his wings flapped, she could tell that had made him very happy to hear
>Of course, Tybbie and Gabby got their turns as well, Bryce making sure to thank each of them individually for their work
>Eventually though, it was done, and she wanted to go
>Looking back around, she noticed that the above-ground homes had once again become heavily populated
>Turning, she looked up at the many smiling faces looking down at her
>Then, in the middle, was Elder's face
>Still smiling, but it was smaller than before
>Had she been too harsh with him?
>She felt in her heart that she had made the right choice
>But was it also the wrong one?
>Whatever it was, she was stuck with it now
>And speaking of now, she had her people to address
>>
>>11599553

>Calm down, Bryce, clear your head
>Remember, calm and reassuring, this is just another visit, one like any other
>Just feel the ground beneath your feet, the wind flowing through your fur and wings and
"Thank you all for yet another wonderful visit! It brings me much joy to see you all yet again. Not only that, but thank you Sy, Tybil, and Gabriella, for taking care of my pet while I spoke with our Elder. It can be difficult to handle a responsibility placed upon you all of a sudden, but it shows a strength of character to rise to the occasion. Thank you all yet again! I look forward to our next visit."
>She gestured to Anon on that last part, inspiring a cheer to go up from the two Bats currently holding on to Anon
>Still, as her speech came to a close, Anon lifted Tybbie up off his shoulders and down onto the ground
>Before the little Bats left, though, he crouched down, letting them pat him
>With that, they fluttered back up onto the raised platforms and to their families, joining in the waving as Bryce and Anon Began to head out
>Once they were past the last building, the lights in the forest dimmed, a wave of darkness swallowing up the world behind them
>Before it swallowed them too, Anon reached out, taking hold of Bryce's hand

CHAPTER FIVE
~~~~~~~~~~
>>
>>11599577
>it was late when they stepped out of the woods
>Though, it was odd how the night sky was brighter than the forest at daytime
>The guards greeted them in their usual manner, though Anon noticed Bryce only gave them a small nod
>He had wondered why she was still holding his hand, despite their being back on the grounds, but he got his answer when he walked up beside her
>She looked exhausted
>Trying his best to act like a concerned pet, he let out, what he hoped sounded like, an inquisitive whimper, attempting to catch her eyes with his
>It wasn't too hard, her eyes widening in surprise at his whine
>Still, he saw her crack a faint smile, though she raised her spare hand to cover her mouth
>They kept walking, with Anon standing closer, letting Bryce lean on him
"Sorry about this, Anon, days like this just..hahhh..leave me feeling so drained."
>She kept smiling at him, but her ears flopped down on the sides of her head
>Well, as adorable as that was, Anon wondered what the etiquette was here
>Did he just let her walk along like this and maintain some dignity, while tiring herself out further
>Or did he do something about it, and risk getting her in trouble or something?
>He thought about it for a little longer, until she stumbled on her way through the court yard
>Sure, she'd probably have been fine, but that was the last straw for him
>What were they going to do to him, after all
>Give him a bath?
>Reaching down, he slipped one arm behind Bryce's legs, the other moving to her back and then, with a quick movement, he scooped her up off the ground
>She was surprisingly easy to lift, lighter still than even he had thought she'd be
>Maybe it had something to do with her needing to be light enough to fly?
>That seemed fairly, wait, what's that sound?
>Well shit, that's the guards
~~~~~~~~~~
>>
>>11599594

~~~~~~~~~~
>Bryce didn't really like Anon seeing her like this, but, well, it was a sight he'd probably need to get used to
>Despite all the time she'd put into her schedule and keeping to daylight hours, days that dragged on like this got to her
>Well, at least he was sweet enough to let her lean against him
>What an wonderful Huma-
>Goodness, she'd nearly fallen there!
>She really needed to not let herself get distra-
>Wait, what was he
>And then she was up and in his arms
>Pressed against him as he held her in the air
>While she did appreciate the thought behind the gesture, this was simply too much!
"Anon, put- What? What are you staring at?"
>Twisting around in his arms, she saw that four of her guards had quickly started approaching the two of them
"Stand down, men. Do you really think my pet wishes to harm me? He is merely trying to help me to my bed."
>They looked from one to the other before nodding at her, backing off to their original posts
>She felt a warm hand squeeze her side, so she turned her attention back to Anon
>He looked...not worried but, unsure?
>That seemed like the right word for it
>Looking into her eyes, he tilted his head from her to where he was holding her, and then he looked to her, and then at the ground, before coming back to her
>She wasn't exactly sure what he was getting at, but honestly, there was no one around, and she was too tired to really care
>Reaching her arms up, she looped them around the back of Anon's neck, her wings draping over him
"Carry me to our room, please, Anon."
>>
>>11599611
>She had been quiet, but she knew from the way he nodded that he had heard her, and then they were off again
>Some of the guards held the doors in their way open so Anon could carry Bryce along, managing to get to, and inside, her room
>slipping her down onto the bed before he slumped down beside her, his arms flopped at his sides, he sighed
I never thought I'd be so happy to be able to talk...
"I'm sorry about the long day, Anon. I hope you didn't mind spending time with the children while the Elder and I talked."
Nah, it's alright, they were pretty cute, and I know you've got your royal duties and all that. How did things go with them?
>How did they go?
>Not that great at the end, really
>Still, she couldn't tell him about it, right?
>He might not know about it, but it was a big deal, and she didn't need him worried about something that she'd decided against
>Right?
"They were fine. We discussed ideas and plans for the upcoming festival, as well as an meeting I'll soon be having with some, as you might say, 'higher ups'."
See, you say you're fine, but that pause doesn't seem like it was for effect. What's on your mind, Bryce?
"Nothing, Anon, nothing, I'm simply tired, is all, and I lost track of my thoughts. How about we get some sleep, and then talk more tomorrow morning over breakfast?"
>>
>>11599633
>She looked over at the lounging Human, laying there sprawled over her bed
>What a sight
>It certainly wasn't one she'd planned on seeing any time soon
>Still, it was nice, in it's own way
"Is that alright?"
Alright. Still, you can't blame me for wanting to talk, right? I don't get the chance to do it much these days, after all.
"I know. Don't worry, we can have a long talk tomorrow, I promise~"
Good enough for me. See you in a few hours, Bryce.
>Anon said, slowly getting up and walking over to his bed in the corner
>She'd made sure to get him a proper one, even if it had seemed odd to those involved
>Other than her, of course
>He pulled his curtain shut, and Bryce tried not to imagine what it looked like as Anon stripped himself of his clothes
>Now that he was up and about, she could get him some new clothes too
>It might help him feel like he fits in to her world better
>Speaking of soft fabrics and fitting in, had her bed always been this comfy?
>It felt like she could just...
~~~~~~~~~~
>>
>>11599653

~~~~~~~~~~
>Oh, he was going to need to get Bryce to get him to a bathtub, or whatever they did here, in the morning
>He hadn't lied when he said he enjoyed hanging out with the kids and keeping them company, and vice versa
>But traipsing through that forest? Now that had left him pretty dirty
>Still, Bryce seemed beat, and it was definitely late
>He supposed he'd just have to rub as much as he could off before he climbed into bed
>Pulling his shirt up and off, he used a cloth by his bed to brush himself mostly clean, before repeating the process with his lower half
>Thank you whoever was up there for these curtains being heavy
>He really didn't need a breeze to roll in and blow them to the side while he was changing like he was in an anime or something
>Pulling on some thin, cloth pajamas, he dragged the curtain back, looking over to Bryce
>She was all curled up in bed, arms wrapped around her, causing her minimal wings to encompass her, while she tucked her legs in as best she could
>Sighing, Anon got up and walked over, gently removing what bits and pieces he could, leaving her in most of her clothes, her belts and shoes on the side of her bed
>Then, he pulled the blankets up over her before he crawled under his own, drifting off to sleep as well
>>11599697
Sweet, thanks for sharing this! Looking forward to more.
I'm still working on kobold adventures.
>>
>>11599771
Don't mention it, Anon! I'm glad you're liking it so far!
Sounds good to me! I haven't gotten a chance to read the story yet, but I'll try and check it out soon!
>>
>>11599824
You fucking better or I'm going to write a story about how you were mean to me. Or worse, write a story about how I made you my Mongolian bride.
>>
>>11599895
Well, here, have this, perhaps it will help to sate your appetite while I write more.
Then again, I've never been an abusive Mongolian bride before, so that would be quite the interesting change in life for me.
CHAPTER ONE
~~~~~~~~~~

>This was it
>Today's the day!
>The day when she'd get her own Spirit Animal!
>She was so excited she could barely stand it
>She wished she could teleport so she could be there now
>Sadly for her, she'd need to physically make her way there
>Whatever, it didn't matter, she was going to get her Spirit Animal!
>Hers!
>Moving quickly around her room, she grabbed her clothes, fastening underwear, pulling on robes, and doing up belts
>She was ready to go in a matter of minutes and, the moment she was, she all but ran out of her room, from the dorms, and towards the main hall
>She passed by a few friends on the way there, but she didn't slow down much for them, preferring to give them a quick
Hey!
>Before continuing on
>Finally!

~~~~~~~~~~
>Gods above, this was taking forever
>She knew that this was an important speech and all, but she already grasped the basic gist of it
>When you summon your Spirit Animal, they will have been drawn out directly for you, a sort of reflection of the soul, in a way
>They are bound to you, and you to them
>The whole 'if one of you should die, so too would the other' thing
>Yada yada yada
>She got it already, start things up!
~~~~~~~~~~
>>
>>11600010
~~~~~~~~~~
>Alright, this made up for the speech
>She wasn't too far from the front of the line and the ceremony was already proving to be quite the show
>People stepped up to the Artifact, grasped it, and began channeling their magic into it, coaxing out their Spirit
>Then, when they found each other, their Spirit was drawn into the world in a kind of spectacular light show
>Thank goodness the protection spells were up
>Otherwise, the random, empowered spells that flared out during the process might have done some damage to the hall!
>Looking back, she noticed a couple of her friends deeper in the line, waiting, like her, to go up
>They hadn't run to get a better spot before, so she'd hardly seen them today
>Still, they could talk after this
>With every person that stepped up, she got closer, eventually standing just beside the stage until, finally, it was her turn
>Walking up the stairs, she felt herself tremble
>This was it
>This was actually it!
>Finally, everything was going to be alright!
>Her teacher's words swam in her head as she stared at him
>She only barely made out the process of summoning her Spirit
>Whatever, it didn't matter, most of it was the artifact and the Spirit in question's job anyways
>She just provided a beacon
>Turning to face it, she stepped up to the large crystal, prepared herself, and then grabbed hold
>Squeezing it tightly, she pushed her magic, directing what she had into the Artifact
~~~~~~~~~~
>>
>>11600065

~~~~~~~~~~
>She didn't feel anything
>Was that supposed to happen?
>She was putting her magic out, but nothing was biting
>Maybe the process felt longer for the person summoning their Spirit than it actually was
>Though, from everything she'd read or heard, it was supposed to be pretty quick
>Had she fucked up?
>Had she somehow managed to be the only one here not able to call upon a Spirit?
>Was it because of her-
>Wait
>There! She felt something!
>It was odd, but something had definitely grabbed hold of her magic!
>Focusing with all she had to not lose this chance, she drew her magic back in, pulling whatever it was that had grasped her, free
>The artifact glowed yet again as she, and her Spirit, were bound together
>While it shone brighter and brighter, she lost her connection, her magic forced entirely out as the magic of her Spirit flowed into the space around her
>A light surged from the top of the crystal, and then a silhouetted figure began to float free
>Whoa, it was big!
>Had she gotten some sort of Lion or something?
>Small enough to manage would have been preferred but she could make it work
>It didn't matter what it was, after all!
>As it rose higher, emerging from the light and the artifact, it spread it's limbs, arms looking long and thin-to-toned, sporting hands at the end
>Maybe it was a kind of monkey?
>It's legs rose up as well, similar to the arms, but thicker, obviously
>She hadn't seen a tail yet, though, so just what was it?
>It floated there for a moment or two more before the light faded, her Spirit drifting down onto their feet
>Just two feet
>Wait, what?
>Well, it definitely didn't resemble a bird, so just what exactly-
>She didn't get a chance to hypothesize any more as the light faded away entirely, letting her see her Spirit
...What is it?
~~~~~~~~~~
>>
>>11600087

~~~~~~~~~~
>Was he in heaven?
>Anon wasn't sure how, but he knew one thing, he had died
>While the details were a bit fuzzy, he knew it had sucked, too
>Still, as he left this mortal coil, his vision going black, he'd seen what almost looked like a hand
>It had been blurry and colorful, hard to make out, but he'd reached for it
>Then, the world turned into a blaze of light that slowly disappeared, though he wasn't blinded by it, oddly
>In fact, he felt pretty great!
>That was when he saw the hundreds of...people(?) in front of him, sitting in what looked to be the audience section of a large theatre or some such thing
>He wasn't really focused on the building so much as the fact that apparently he was at some sort of animal-based masquerade
That, or it's some kind of a knock-off Harry Potter convention.
>He said aloud, looking about until his eyes settled on what looked like a large Puma
>It
>No, wait
>She, most definitely a she, was staring at him, wide-eyed
>She was also wearing the fancy robes and belts and what-not that the others were wearing
>When he looked down to see if he was wearing the same, and saw he was, in fact, in a kind of 'suit' he realized just what was going on
Ohhh, I get it, I'm dreaming!
>He guessed he'd been wrong about the whole 'dieing' thing
>Man dreams were trippy
>Looking out again to the now very confused-looking crowd, Anon shrugged, and moved a leg back slightly
>Well, he'd always wanted to try this
>Running forwards, he leaped, expecting to crowd surf, only to disappointingly see them move to the sides to avoid him
>The one thing that was about to catch him now was the ground and, as he fell towards it, he had brief thought
>How long did you have to fall before you woke-
*WHAM*
~~~~~~~~~~
>>
>>11600105

~~~~~~~~~~
>What?
>What the hell had all that been?
>None of the other Spirits so far had been like that!
>As she peered over the edge of the stage to the strange, now-unconscious monkey Spirit, as well as did most everyone else who could see him, she felt a large hand on her shoulder
>Looking back, she realized it was the school's Headmaster
"Come with me. I need to have a talk with you."
>He said, before turning, walking towards the far end of the stage and, from there, an open door.
>As she nervously followed along, she heard him speak, and her Spirit's body lifted up from the ground, floating after them
>Stepping through the door, she wondered just what the Headmaster had in store for her.
>This couldn't be good.
~~~~~~~~~~
CHAPTER TWO
~~~~~~~~~~
>>
>>11600123
>She took a seat in a chair in front of a large, gnarled oaken desk while the headmaster sat on the opposite side
>He gently lowered her Spirit Animal down into what looked somewhat like a circular basket with a puffy blanket padding the inside
>A few, circular crystals floated above it
>With her mysterious Spirit resting safely, the headmaster raised a hand into the air, catching a small vial floating by
>He spoke into it, sealed the vial with an equally small cork, and then released it
>Her eyes followed it as it flew off, through a hole in the wall, and away
>Then her focus returned to the headmaster, especially so since she realized that he was looking at her
S-So...what did you want to talk to me about?
>He raised a brow
Sir!
"It's about what you summoned, Ms. Quille"
My...Spirit, sir? I know he's not exactly par for the course, but is he really strange enough that you had to talk to me personally?
"Ms. Quille, do you what a Human, is?"
No? Sir?
"Humans are very rare finds. They are not like the usual animals we summon and bond with, they are entirely...unique, we shall say. They are not typically beholden to the same rules as most Spirits are. The magic they bring tends to be...odd."
Odd, sir? I mean, so far, he just looks like a weird, no-hair, no-tail monkey.
"One who speaks."
>>
>>11600139
Wait, you heard him?
"Yes, it seems to be another trait they posses. Unlike normal Spirits, where only those they bond with can hear them, or those that use specific spells to do so, and so on, Humans can talk freely. That is another aspect of him you'll need to watch, Ms. Quille."
Watch, sir?
>A lot of this wasn't exactly making sense to her
>Called away from the ceremony by the headmaster, talking about rules and ways of acting that she'd need to abide by
>This wasn't nearly how she'd expected today to go
>Still, one thing was certainly on her mind
>She had a rare Spirit!
>Not only that, but they apparently had unique and powerful magic!
>That was so much better than she could have even expected!
>She hoped he'd wake up soon, she wanted to talk to him and learn more about him and what he could do!
>Wait, hold on, focus, Cassandra
>You still have the headmaster talking to you
>>
>>11600154
"-which is an unknown mystery where their magic became powerful, but as it did, so too did they become more and more reclusive, until they swore off their magic for good, 'for the world's sake' or so they said."
Sorry sir, I missed that first part.
>He sighed, rubbing the top of his beak while his Spirit, a Parrot, fluttered down, landing on his shoulder
"I was saying, Ms. Quille, that Humans have very unpredictable, and potentially dangerous, magic. The normal rules do not apply when they get involved, and so we will have eyes on you to make sure you don't get up to anything strange with whatever magical qualities this one has."
Wait, really? How powerful is he?
"It's not about the power, Ms. Quille, it's about the unknown, and how we're unable to anticipate it in the case the worst should happen. Still, keep in mind, he IS yours. He is bound to you and must obey your commands."
>He said, gesturing to the lightly-glowing collar around the Human's neck
>It wasn't a surprise to see it, as Spirits that were summoned were bound both spiritually, and literally as well
>Should he attempt to use his apparently-vast magic on her, or others, she could stop him
>She couldn't lie
>Well, at least not to herself
>She was damned excited about this
>First, he'd help her with her magic
>Then afterwards?
>Well, she could figure that out with him
"Oh, also, he'll need clothes."
What?
"Well, firstly he has no fur so he'll undoubtedly get cold, and two, he doesn't have a sheath or anything quite like that, so he'll be flopping about otherwise."
>>
>>11600168
>She couldn't help but blush a little as he mentioned that, scratching at the back of her head with her claws
O-Oh yeah? I hadn't really noticed so I guess if you say so then I could-
>She was cut off as a small, green box floated into the room from a different hole in the wall
>It drifted over to Cassandra, and she caught it when it dropped
>Opening it up revealed a very basic long-sleeved shirt and some pants that could be tightened or loosened with a drawstring
Is that everything, sir?
>She said, pulling the clothing out of the box, placing the latter on his desk
"Yes, for now, that will be enough. Enjoy getting to know your Spirit, Ms. Quille. The door will take you to your room."
>He gestured to the door they had entered from, and she nodded
Thank you sir.
"You're welcome, Ms. Quille. I'll help him through the door, but I leave getting him dressed, and the rest, to you."
>She nodded, and went up to the door, the design now matching that of the door to her room
>Pulling out her key, she unlocked it and stepped inside
>Once it was open, it was her Spirit's turn to come through
>The Headmaster raised a talon-tipped hand while her slowly-stirring Spirit mumbled something, rubbing his head
>Before he could get a good look at the room, though, he was sent floating through the door behind her
THE END
~~~~~~~~~~

For now, perhaps? I had an idea that got stuck in my head, so I wrote this, and some of Chapter Three, up to get it out and see what people thought about it. It'd probably be a bit rough to do two different stories at the same time, or at least, more time-consuming. Still, I also like the premise and possibilities with this setting, so I figured I'd put it out there and let people say what they wanted about it. Share thoughts and all that.

Thanks for the story though, I do like this one too.
>>
>>11600968
Thank you for saying so! I first thought it up as a way to satisfy people who wanted Anon to talk, plus the Cat Anon, and it sort of sprawled into this whole idea. I wasn't sure about making Humans mostly unknown in this world, or if they should be commonplace, so that's part of what I'm hoping to hear about from people in the thread. Still, even if they aren't too well-known, Anon being Cassandra's Spirit 'Animal' means he'll be seen as a sort of pet by every fur/scale/whatever around, even though he talks and all.

I'm planning on making a green about this owner who is mentally ill and is willing to steal one of her neighbor's human to do "buisness" with her. With the help of technology she'll be posting things on the deep web as people (humanphiles) pay for her videos to see her "play" with the humans.
