Try to gather your team of monsters early in the game. Every new monster starting from lvl 1 makes it kind of pain to get them up to speed later.

I still use my Red Khezu. Bulldrome has a stupid high attack but no defense and will carry you for a little bit, as well.
My current team is Red Khezu, S.Nerscylla, Yian Kut-ku for rock breaker, Rathian, Black Diablos, and Rathalos.

Also if you get Black Diablos get rid of Merciless Horn ASAP. It does amazing damage, but it knocks the Diablos down for a turn and monsters can do more damage to her.

Another thing to remember is that Black Diablos are pissed off females in heat so if you hatch one your getting an always pissed off and horny monstie.

It seems hard to believe at first, but when you consider that at least more than three people seem to regularly commission artwork of their OCs as well as this recent discovery? You're probably not wrong, and I'm genuinely curious as to why it has gone this way. Sure plenty of monster designs lend themselves perfectly to hybridfags, but it still feels like I'm missing something. Did a bunch of furries in the past few years come to realize it was a goldmine in that regard (plus whether Tama had a part in this) and may think they're special snowflake for picking a more 'obscure' series in the west compared to something like Pokemon?

That said there's some amusement to be had from that Cyan Zerureusu guy actually never touching Frontier.

Don't think so, roughly two years ago I played the Pokemon TCG for a small bit of time since a friend of mine convinced me to play and it just ended up being a moneysink in the long run. I had my fun, but as soon as local people started to buy singles the power creep between people just went out of hand. If a MH card game existed I'd get single cards if they looked nice, but nothing more.

Wacom DTK1300 Cintiq 13HD.

So far I'm really enjoying it. Feels better to draw directly onto a screen than a normal tablet, though at the cost of portability. If you really wanna get into digital drawing and such, it's very useful.

That's how I was before until I decided to actually get back to socializing with others online. Talking to someone who also plays video games helped a lot.

Though World broke my disappointment with MH, I'm actually very hopeful about it while 4th gen disappointed me.

Some monster do seem to have patterns, and all monster have a preferred attack type. If you're familiar with the main games then the monsters' preferred attacks are pretty easy to figure out.

There's a thread on /v/ for this, have a browse through it and then ask any questions if you still have any.

It feels more like it's weighted with some monsters and a pattern with others. Monsters using special attacks also affect what they'll use after. i.e. a monster uses a speed attack that poisons you will immediately use a technical/power poison chaser attack afterwards

Another thing to add: Some monsters will change their attack pattern if you win a h2h. This is more apparent the further into the game you are.

I'm not following any trailer and I'm hoping to jump into World mostly blind.

But I fully expect weaker weapons to be randomly nerfed and flawed ones still end up being flawed like the SA only being worth it in one mode, CB existing and IG not having any actual interesting feature with the bugs.

Though apparently they made HH easier to use and removed oils from SnS which while you could see it as a nerf it's a layer of mechanic I really felt that the SnS didn't need.
