Yup, it's bar soap. I'm just used to buying it in 3-bar packs since that's the largest quantity the local supermarket carries. Doing so would be highly cost prohibitive. You'd need to upscale the dies used for Huggies, as well as retool or upscale machines to accommodate the unique features of the diaper like its stretchy tear-away sides. At that point, you might as well just start from scratch since you're already creating so much new equipment. Using existing adult-size machinery wouldn't be much cheaper since significant modifications would still need to be made to get something halfway approximating training pants.

In the end, you're looking at a significant investment to create or modify manufacturing equipment specifically to make these pullups. For me, it's the feeling of being a "big kid" because you're not wearing a diaper and are expected/able to use the toilet, yet still needing some protection because you're not fully trained and might wind up going in your pants instead. Having an accident (especially one bad enough to leak) is a lot more embarrassing when you want to be big and not need diapers/pullups, a feeling that's amplified when your padding can't hold much to begin with. Then there's desperation and the potty dance, the relief of giving in before the distress of realizing what you've just done, the shame of getting a bad mark on the potty chart, being led to the changing table, and the possibility of getting demoted back to diapers despite being "too old" for them. All role-related things that aren't necessarily specific to pullups, but that I think are enhanced by using them over diapers.

I like diapers as well of course. They just hit different notes in terms of the mindset involved.

If that affected me in the way I think it did, that explains my fixation on pullups since that's what I would've worn at the time. I'm also pretty sure that's the main reason I got into ABDL as a whole since a lot of the activities and scenarios I enjoy revolve around the toddler-preschool age range.

There's practical reasons as well. Not having to dress around a thicc diaper bulge if you want to wear out would be a plus. Then if you need to use the bathroom while you're out, you could just pull them down like underwear. Can't take a diaper off to use the toilet unless it has velcro tapes, stretchy sides, or you tape it loose.

That can certainly have had an effect on you developing a fetish later on but i don't think it might be 100% the cause. I've spoken to a few diaperfags with seemingly unrelated diaper stories from their childhood. Myself, i've been always hated diapers as a kid, i made fun of my preschool class at the age 2 for not knowing how to use the toilet, i was acting superior because of it. The earliest instance i can remember about getting a boner from the thought of wearing a diaper was at the age of 11 and even that was basically my brain making odd associations at the time. I could have ended up with any fetish.
