Poppy Opossum Thread: The End of a Comic Editon
How do you feel about the format change? Do you think this will improve or hinder the story?
>>11325403
I have no clue, I'm just wondering how they're gonna beat the bird that has ears and potentially eyes everywhere. It's probably.
I just removed the shortcut to the site. I'm really disappointed because I absolutely loved his art style and hated the holiday story he did.
It sucks that he didn't like making full comics, but I have no interest left in it. I'm not reading 2000 word updates.
>>11325403
The art was the only good thing about it
Now it truly belongs in the trash
>>11326968
>The art was the only good thing about it
it's gotten so lazy, it's pretty obvious Morbi would have rather finish this arc in the novel format, he's simply rushing it... when it comes to the art anyways, given how he never makes it to his deadlines.
>>11325403
>tumblr comic
>>11325403
And what a worst way to end the comic
>I'm going to force myself upon you in a desperate attempt to woo you
>And I'm going to completely forget that rather dark conversation we literally had minutes before
>>11328241
I'm pretty sure Morbi doesn't know how relationships work. Has he ever even been in one?
This comic used to be so good. Used to be.
>>11328691
Has he been in a good healthy one?
Also
>the word count
>all that art promised
Calling it. Calling it now, nothing will change.
>>11328984
Then politics and gays got involved.
>>11331406
he's still doing comic strips in between paragraphs
>>11325403
>One Poppy thread on /co/
>One Poppy thread on /trash/
>Always a constant thread with one person knowing everything and posting real time updates on Morbi and Poppy info and posts
Something seems suspicious.
>>11335895
Morbi used to shill the comic himself on /co/, regardless of how much shit he talks about 4chan, the little faggot loves the attention.
>>11328691
>I'm pretty sure Morbi doesn't know how relationships work
Does Kit?
>>11325403
>How do you feel about the format change? Do you think this will improve or hinder the story?
That is entirely based how Morbi writes.
That can be a big problem considering how his comic has relied heavily on art and color.
>>11325463
And Morbi still hasn't revealed how his powers work.
Maybe its some Morrison grade bullshit meta narrative powers where he actually sees the comic and thus knows what happens in it.
>>11328241
Yeah I don't like the tone whiplash either. Nothing is worse than a comedy comic deciding to be gritty or serious.
>>11337346
This. I think Morbi overestimates his writing ability. Words can't paint a picture of his settings as well as he can draw it.
>>11338089
He could do like Homestuck and just have massive walls of text.
>>11327861
I'm sure he just wants to get it done so he can go back to playing Zelda 24/7 until they cut off his power because he has no money.
>>11338148
clearly nobody wants that
>>11338276
nah, he wants to fug splatoon girls now
>>11337481
>And Morbi still hasn't revealed how his powers work.
He attaches his magic to stuff and it turns that thing into a secret microphone he can use. What are you not understanding?
>>11337241
>>11337241
>>11341367
Kit isn't the one writing this garbage.
>>11336325
Is he the one bumping these threads off of page 10?
>>11342162
>Is he the one starting these artificially made interest in Poppy threads that then degrade into shitposts because everyone knows it's a bullshit thread and comic, to page 10?
>>11342603
Why would you bump then?
Jesus christ, you people are paranoid
What if kit figured out she was in a comic? How would she react to the knowledge that her world is fabricated?
>>11325403
Technically Prequel is the same. Loads of text with images here and there. Should be fine.
>>11338089
>Poppy points two fingers at Kit and gestures like she is firing to pistols, "It's cool, I was planning on avoiding the guards anyway." She says with an overly sly expression.
>"Oh, uh, okay." Says Kit. She lets out a look of embarrassment at the Possum's overconfident expressions.
>Poppy sees herself out, still pointing and giggling with her overt bravado.
Not quite the same effect.
>>11344267
>Should be fine
Except for the whole, y'know, not fucking updating part
>>11343597
Hey Morbi, how many times have you changed IP
say goodbye to /co/. Stuck here forever now
RIP in peace, Poppy. Remember the good times.
>>11348538
>we'll never see giraffe girl's face now
>>11348538
>the good times.
LOL
>>11339722
Morbi does.
>>11347954
Not the anon you responded to, but holy shit, you guys are indeed paranoid
>>11350169
Of course you would say that cloud. You're just using a different shape this time.
and the /co/ thread is dead never to be returned to again.
Good bye /co/
>>11350901
It was nice while it lasted
>>11341175
Where did it say that? I guess I missed a page somehwhere.
>>11348538
I still don't understand why people got so autistic over a giraffe who never says or does a single thing.
>>11352316
Furry autism is a powerful thing.
>>11351749
>>11352316
never underestimate the power of autism
>>11352339
>>11353467
Which Morbi is banking on, and the SJW's wallets too.
>>11353528
If that were the case, Morbi would have dropped the comic and just worked on commissions for Kit fetish porn. Less effort for more money.
>>11355034
>Kit fetish porn
>Without multiple boobs and a fortune cookie
Why even bother.
>>11355066
But morbi does draw multitits
>>11355066
Because not everyone is a sick fuck, like you
>>11352316
I keep hearing about this, now I'm curious to hear the story
I wish the comic wasn't so obscure. It could have netted alot of art of thicc furry gals. Now that it's becoming a wall of text, I doubt people are eager to join in.
>>11356984
It was just the usual "I wanna fuck that" joke but taken too far. What they're not telling you is that Poppy threads were infamous for going nuts about a specific thing in every thread, the Giraffe was just one of many things. For example, many believe Morbi disabled comments in the site because they were lewd but what actually happened is that one of the retards who got violently obsessed over things reached the site and made a mess there (it was something about Silvanna) and Morbi being the lazy fuck he is removed the section so he wouldn't have to deal with it ever again, even though it was the first time.
>>11357672
it's not, it does get a shit ton of art, as far as webcomics goes anyways.
>>11357725
makes me glad I don't go to the /co/ threads
>>11358955
The /co/ threads were really good up until sometime after the tournament arc (minus the giraffe incident, but thats a specific thing).
After that the threads devolved into a goddamned molten salt plateau of (mostly) incoherent rage towards morbi.
I mean, yeah there were plenty of perfectly reasonable complaints and criticisms towards the comic, but every little gripe turned into a big rant for no reason at all.
hard to say how far it was, but /co/ did have a hand in speeding the "getting tired of this comic" process on morbi.
>>11341819
>>11341367
still a better love story than bcb.
>>11359691
Bittersweet Candy Bowl? Anything is better than that.
>>11359975
Not for long.
>>11360713
why's that?
>>11361193
He probably means the medium shift will shaft the quality of poppy.
Even then i don't think that poppy will get worse than retarded drama cats. At least some of the characters in poopy possum were likeable, in bcb everyone was either horrible right off the start or became horrible somehow.
>>11337481
>Maybe its some Morrison grade bullshit meta narrative powers where he actually sees the comic and thus knows what happens in it.
I have long had the feeling that the whole Poppy universe is indeed metafictional. Obviously, older vidya is an influence on it, so consider how much the cosmogony feels like something out of a MMO. It would also explain the humans showing up, and the deal with eyes and gloves, the latter being a perfect representation of a mouse cursor.
If anybody's interested, I drew a specific fair lady of the lord.
Enjoy.
>>11361782
Nice.
>>11361738
Or, you know, having fucking smart phones phones in a fantasy-esque world of magic that has parallels of actual modern technology mixed in.
>>11355034
Because it's easier to draw what you want and now to just type up a wall of text and then edit it once. Rather than draw out what you want, in a cheap attempt to sucker people into paying for a pay-as-your-read donation style fictional illustration attempt.
I'm willing to give the new format a shot but im just hoping the next arc is better than this one.
>>11364362
>im just hoping the next arc is better than this one.
I wouldn't hold my breath, they have been getting progressively worse, given how bad Morbi's writing actually is, I don't see the format change doing him any favors.
>>11364031
Uh, that doesn't seem to have any bearing on what I said.
>>11336325
>regardless of how much shit he talks about 4chan
Really? are you a 4chan fanboy? Are you so dependent on 4chan in your life that you'd defend it from criticism?
>>11367195
Found the Tumblrite.
>>11367195
pff, nigger.. I could't give two shits what people says about this shithole, that doesn't change the fact that he's a massive hypocrite for shilling his comic in /co/ when he talks so much shit about it constantly.
back to tumblr with you.
>>11368538
>that doesn't change the fact that he's a massive hypocrite for shilling his comic in /co/ when he talks so much shit about it constantly.
Is there actually any proof of this.
>>11367195
Why are you attacking anon for things Morbi did?
>>11368772
>newfags from tumblr will ask this everytime someone mentions how morbi can be such an insufferable prick
You don't even deserve to get linked to the archives desu.
>>11368949
Croudo-kun can do no wrong anon.
>>11369047
>insufferable prick
>on 4chins
Good gosh.
>You don't even deserve to get linked to the archives desu.
I wanna shitpost as much as you anon, but I need substance.
>>11369075
It looks like you need to be spoonfed.
>>11369168
Mhmmmm, butter me up anon.
>>11369194
Nipples on her vagina?
>>11370959
Just the way lala-anon drew them. Somtimes the teats and multi-boobs stop at the stomach or go all the way to the crotch.
>>11370959
what's the matter? are you Nipplefobic or something?, check your privilege you bigot.
>>11368232
What parallels to the real world or real world politics are there in Poppy?
>>11373157
It sounded like they were taking a really roundabout way of saying "there's queer people in this lesbian furry comic."
>>11369194
When are you going to post where you link, I still remember when you were banned because of asshurt mods.
>>11373740
What.
>>11373755
Jesus I am out of it, LOL!
>When are you going to setup an account somewhere and give a link to where you post your works online.
>I remember when you were banned on /co/, which was bullshit.
>>11373360
It didn't start out as a lesbian comic
>>11373740
>muh fursecution!
>>11374282
It kind of did, actually.
>>11374778
I thought that was kit at first
>>11343617
Probably spiral into a suicidal depression knowing that she was created just to suffer and that her existence is someone's amusement at best and wank material at worst.
Just looking back on when Poppy first met Kit, and they have a chat about trusting each other. Morbi really knows how to place these... recurring set pieces? "Motif" seems too strong a word.
>>11380098
It would of been nice Poppy did the kiss/trust thing in the drawing room instead of outside the lab though.
>>11380098
>"Motif" seems too strong a word
but that's literally what a Motif is
>an object or idea that repeats itself throughout a literary work
>>11373360
>It sounded like they were taking a really roundabout way of saying "there's queer people in this lesbian furry comic."
Did you forget about the squirrel getting a ladyboner over Poppy's muscles.
>>11374778
I'm surprised that with all the world-building Morbi forgot something as simple as ylfs for the tails.
>>11381990
ylfs?
>>11325403
Damn, didn't bother reading the title as I thought this was a Zootopia comic from the thumbnail and just clicked it.
I Disappoint
>>11382610
Backwards fly.
>>11382719
>Zootopia invented furries
Is there anything more disgusting than newfags?
>>11383047
Pedophiles.
>>11383059
Agreed
>>11368538
>LEAVE 4CHAN ALONE!
You sound like that trap Britney Spears impersonator.
>>11383133
>You sound like that trap Britney Spears impersonator.
Kek, Says the faggot who gets triggered when people calls Morbi out.
>>11381552
I figure a motif is more meaningful and often metaphorical, and is seen in more than one level. This is just a callback to a previous set piece, it's a much more common thing. I mean Morbi has decidedly put more forethought into this than the vast majority of Western pop culture of the last couple of decades, but this ain't Moore- or Morrison-level. Tho who knows, there's still a lot of ground to cover, we're only at about 20% of the full story.
>>11383870
I was thinking the same. It's pretty ironic.
>>11383906
Lol, what? You are giving Morbi way too much credit, and it's painfully obvious you are outright sucking his dick in a way to increase discussions with his faltering comic, I wouldn't be surprised if your Morbi himself larping to increase interest.
>>11385062
back in my day, trolling meant something
>>11386026
back in mine, you weren't born yet
>>11386026
Back in my day, people didn't overvalue, over-analyze or shill this hard for mediocre content in a vain attempt to create artificial interest.
With Poppy and Kit talking about eloping to some quiet countryside town I'm wondering if this means that the location of Poppy will change for the next part after Poppy 9.
Also I wouldn't be surprised if part 1 of Poppy ends with Poppy and Kit's wedding, with them immediately getting the fuck out of Canopy after what I presume to be absolutely crazy Specter of Fate shit goes down in Poppy 9.
>>11388306
It's either Morbi's going to kill Poppy - ironic she dies before her unnaturally short lifespan - or retire her with Kit to the countryside, or whatever. Unless we learn whatever IMS is and how it affects Poppy.
>>11326925
Same here, deleted bookmark, zero fucks given as he wasn't updating on any sort of consistent schedule in the first goddamn place and he doesn't seem to realize that nobody reads the comic for the fucking writing. Writing is absolutely not his strength, the art is, and frankly I've never seen so much as a paragraph of prose from him that would make me think he's even capable of doing well with the format.
All the semi-interesting worldbuilding he can pull out of his ass won't save the story from the tired anime tropes he keeps building the plot on.
>>11389059
I don't think Poppy is gonna die before those seven candles burn out. I see the story of Poppy O'Possum being about her last seven years and what happens during them, with the story ending shortly after she dies, presumably after defeating the Specter of Fate.
>>11386026
it's called baiting now, grandpa
>>11390378
wouldn't she be a deteriored grandma by then?
>>11391297
That's not anime garbage.
>>11391297
>>11390378
If she's twenty-three now, that makes her what, seventy something in opossum years. Which I don't think opossums age like that.
>>11390378
She's gonna croak in Act 2. Lily will eventually become the big bad. Cap this post.
>>11393745
god i hope so
>>11393745
Lily is like 3 years old. This isn't Marvel where a 10 year old can be a master scientist/engineer at everything.
Also the comic is called Poppy O'Possum. It would be weird to have a series named after a character that dies halfway though.
>>11391538
>people
>>11395953
Anthro people, yeah
>>11390378
Pretty sure Poppy will outlive Kit
Will we ever find out about Hateball?
>>11399732
That would be a bit too sad IMO. Poppy only has a few years left. I wouldn't want her to be married for a few years and then spend her last years mourning over Kit while trying to raise Lily alone.
>>11395635
That's why I said she will become, not that she already is. She's still got 27 or so years to go, and the story constantly drives home the point that she's a prodigy, and has several small character moments that don't bode well.
Also spitballing again: each act will be named after the flower that lends its name to its main character: Poppy, Hallia?, Petunia, Lily.
>>11403929
I don't see a main character switch happening. Especially since the story, not the act is named Poppy O'Possum.
Also if each act had a name, then it probably would have something related to the main plot of each act. Like this act would have something to do with the god's blood, one would have something to do with Crodilius's revolution, and the other would be named after robots or some shit.
Where's the update, Morbi?
>>11406984
>Well folks, that’s “it” for Poppy as a comic. Starting with Poppy 8’s cover on September 8th, I’ll be transitioning the series to a web novel medium,
>>11407566
Posting corrected version
>>11407039
Maybe now it won't take him literally a year to finish a chapter
>>11408149
Sure, too bad 90% of fans will lose interest because they have to read now.
If Morbi thought this was a shortcut to get out of work, well, he's gonna get that wish.
>>11379508
Why is Lala's ass so perfect?
>>11407958
Kek
>>11407958
>Trying to earn (you)s
>>11408927
Is there even a shot of Lala's ass in the comic?
Best you'll get in the comic.
Futa is fucking disgusting.
Would you like it if I flooded the thread with scat and diaper porn???
Futa is a gross, niche fetish just like shit and diapers and belongs in a fetish thread. Just because it has a mouse or rat in it doesn't mean it belongs here. Scat porn of anthro mice eating shit out of a diaper doesn't belong here either.
>>11415594
Cry more.
>>11415594
did you post in the wrong thread?
>>11416109
No, this is the designated shitposting thread.
>>11411331
Not directly, but he makes sure you know she's thick enough for your mind to fill it in yourself.
strange how it's Poppy with the least amount of thicc art where compared to the other main characters.
>>11413582
Morbi should've just swallowed his pride and done the whole comic black and white. He'd actually be able to keep a schedule and he wouldn't get burnt the fuck out.
He's too obsessed with going with full colour though, probably because of glip.
>>11419779
Morbi didn't like doing his comic in black and white and would of burned out eventually since he doesn't want to do the comic format.
I do wonder if he will ever revisit the Hand of Fate chapter and recolor it.
>>11421534
I wonder if he would revisit the text only chapters and remake them as comics
>>11359670
You know I noticed that as well.
I don't know why it happened then. I thought Morbi becoming less inclined to listen came after that arc.
Maybe because Poppy was very Mary Sue in that issue and that just soured the air.
>>11422103
>Mary Sue
Man, these fucking words don't even mean anything to me anymore.
>>11422103
How was Poppy a Mary Sue?
getting close
>>11421935
I wonder if he will revisit the comic only chapters and redo them in text then erase the comics
>>11426223
better save these pages then
>>11430939
What is she referencing?
>>11422103
>Poppy was very Mary Sue in that issue and that just soured the air
Now that I think about it, Poppy is pretty Mary Sue.
>immune to magic
>so strong she can lift mountains
>singlehandedly kicked a fighting champion's ass with no prior fighting experience
>the veil is watching her because of how special she is
>the mafia fears her and actively avoids her until now because they don't have a choice anymore
>somehow did not die to being impaled by Poda
>kicked an eldritch dragon's ass
>gets stabbed multiple times and casually shrugs it off
>practically invincible
>best friends with a Popstar
>becomes girlfriends with none other than the Queen herself
Chapter 7 was especially bad with it. She can ignore everyone's advice and act brashly and instead of it coming back to bite her, it turns into the best solution with no repercussions. It's like the universe bends so that anything Poppy does ends up with things going her way.
>disregards Petunia's training and does her own thing, turns out that was the "correct" way to fight
>disregards Freddy's warning to not spill the beans to Kit because that might jepordize everything and Kit won't believe her
>turns out Kit easily believes Poppy and Freddy is the one who screwed everything up because he didn't realize Chicadino can tap into anything powerd by dragonblood to spy on people
>Poppy forces herself onto Kit and instead of Kit pushing her away and breaking things off, she swoons and agrees to Poppy's terms
>>11431243
>singlehandedly kicked a fighting champion's ass with no prior fighting experience
What
>>11431243
>>singlehandedly kicked a fighting champion's ass with no prior fighting experience
She was getting her ass kicked and only lost because his pants ripped and caused his star to backfire on him
>>the veil is watching her because of how special she is
Her and numerous other possums who have fulfilled the first few steps of whatever prophecy she may be related to
>>the mafia fears her and actively avoids her until now because they don't have a choice anymore
Though they've been shown to have agents that can deal with her
>>kicked an eldritch dragon's ass
Couldn't even hurt it with a mountaintop, was only able to slow it down before practically dying of a heart attack and needing Valente to swoop in and save the day
>>practically invincible
>has been shown to have broken her bones in fights
>has a time limit on how long she can fight at once before overwhelming her body and having a heart attack
She has weaknesses, she just hasn't felt them very much yet.
>>11432636
artist?
>>11432811
No clue, unfortunately.
>>11430939
Which Poppy character(s) do you want to impregnate the most, /trash/?
Bumping with thicc
>>11431243
>disregards Petunia's training and does her own thing, turns out that was the "correct" way to fight
Petunia was getting hung up on trying to use her hellish DEX training on someone with a purely STR build. Petunia is a trained fighter, but that doesn't make her an experienced mentor for anything other than her own school.
>disregards Freddy's warning to not spill the beans to Kit because that might jepordize everything and Kit won't believe her
>turns out Kit easily believes Poppy and Freddy is the one who screwed everything up because he didn't realize Chicadino can tap into anything powerd by dragonblood to spy on people
Friedrich has been demonstrated to be extremely paranoid to a fault.
>Poppy forces herself onto Kit and instead of Kit pushing her away and breaking things off, she swoons and agrees to Poppy's terms
Kit's a huge romantic who was starting to slip into a dangerous mindset because she thought she'd lost Poppy's trust. Reassurance was exactly what she needed at that moment.
>>11431243
>>the mafia fears her and actively avoids her until now because they don't have a choice anymore
She sent one of their best enforcers flying away in a single punch.
They HAVE the tools to deal with her, but prefer not to because it would be needless carnage and trouble (moreso since poppy didn't want anything with them, especially after they ended the contract).
>immune to magic
Comic itself already proven how much of a con this is.
>singlehandedly kicked a fighting champion's ass with no prior fighting experience
if anything, boris defeated himself. he'd have ended the comic if he got to use the berserk-mode of his power.
>kicked an eldritch dragon's ass
I know the fight against the dragon was really messy to read, but she did nothing but stall him.
>>11431466
>>11437013
>>11437308
Oh my God, all these Mary Sue apologists...
Okay, just in case you Anons don't actually understand, when a character has all this amazing crap happen, they're a Mary Sue.
They do what they want and things work out somehow, and they get the girl/boy and they're rich and they solve all the problems and they're better than everyone at something or many things, and if they have a weakness that actually turns out to be a strength:
Mary
Fucking
Sue
The method and in-universe explanation doesn't matter.
Also, see http://www.springhole.net/writing/marysue.htm
>>11439169
Yeah, look at this fucking Mary Sue, getting completely wrecked in a second by the one opponent she didn't get the drop on.
>>11439894
And here she is, taking the bait and breaking her hand on the first person who's a match for her strength, rendering her useless because she never learned how to counter that.
Goddamn Mary Sue.
>>11439976
Let's not forget that time she put everything she had into fighting a dragon, accomplishing nothing but inconveniencing it and having to be bailed out by an enemy who solved the problem without any effort.
What a flawless, unstoppable heroine.
>>11436842
Yes, good
Nightly bump
>>11440844
If your definition of "coming out on top" includes "did not die" then sure, I suppose it applies to those situations.
It's easy to point at her bagging a queen as "getting everything", but that ignores the fact that Kit herself is a huge mess whose involvement is making Poppy's life infinitely more complicated than if she just kept her head low and worked as the Quibble's maid.
>>11379508
gib me dat
>>11337481
This sentiment worries me, because I've been making a comic for a while now (none of this indefinite webcomic bullshit, it's exactly 314 pages) and I really like doing dramadies. Is it okay for a comic to shift between comedy and drama so long as that impression is set up from the very first chapter (sprinkles of black comedy, clear setup for serious interpersonal conflict, a distinct narrative thrust and end goal despite the generally upbeat nature early on)? I hear a lot of people tap out if either drifts into the other, but the stories I want to tell benefit from both sides.
If only Morbi was like Skidd where he does porn commissions of his characters alongside working on his comic.
>>11444238
Doesn't he have a private twitter account where he does just that? I recall seeing one image leaked months ago.
>>11444361
>I recall seeing one image leaked months ago.

Which female character in this series has no porn whatsoever?
>>11447996
Vix Darling.
>>11447996
I don't think the big titty fox from the first part does
Or Mrs. Lam
WHERE'S THE COVER MORBI
>>11448212
>generic vixen
>complex outfit that looks like something out of an RPG
Gee, I wonder why
>>11448307
I'm gonna need to see some reference pics.
>>11440046
>>11439976
>>11439894
I hope all Poppy apologists aren't as sad as you
>>11448555
Hopefully it'll be posted in a bit, instead of close to midnight.
>these poppy threads aren't a general
I remember when this was nothing more than a shitpost.
>>11451918
I'm sorry but this shit's just awful, looks like some shitty wannabe anime crap.
>>11451918
She better be trying to save Friedrich.
That's all I'm going to say.
>>11451918
replace 'buy' with 'read' and you have morbi right now https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aDTwO0TlwOU
i gotta admit i'm a bit curious with tuna's bizarre outfit.
>>11451918
Heh, we can see her bald spot.
You get transported to canopy.your immune to magic radiation and you can't get Hurt by magic attacks.your now a stranger in astrange land and your newfound powers will probably be found out soon enough what do you do?
>>11453053
>i choose a better setting
>i choose a better setting with better females
>i choose a better setting with better females and males
>i stop roleplaying
I go down the list until one applies.
>>11453091
I'm not role playing I'm just biting the time in this thread because morbi won't get off his fatass and release the damn thing.
>>11453053
Fondle my multiple-boobs.
Shits hard to find even amongst furries.
>>11453152
Release the... cover? It's up. Hell it was posted a few posts up.
>>11453152
>the average poppy thread poster
Wow It actually looks promising this time.
>>11453797
But I don't have my hopes up just yet, I'll give it the benefit of the dout and say it looks well made for what were actually Gonna get but hey I might actually be surprised.
what an awful time to leave picture format
were about to hit a chapter that presumably is going to have a boat load of action
I am not confident Morbi will be able to express what's happening with words more than he could with pictures.
>>11451918
>Artist is given slack on amount of art he needs to produce
>Immediate decline in cover quality
oh no

>>11446633
Close, it was "Pregnant Nun. Holy Crap!".
>>11430988
See above.

>>11439169
You're a complete idiot and the reason the term doesn't mean much anymore.
First off, it was a term for FANFICTION, using it to describe a canon character is something that should have never been done. Second, using a "common Mary Sue traits" checklist to judge every character out there is laughably stupid because THE most important factor that makes those traits good or bad is the CONTEXT in the stories, you can't just claim something is inherently bad if it actually works in a story.
>when a character has all this amazing crap happen, they're a Mary Sue
>The method and in-universe explanation doesn't matter
Yes it does you shit-for-brains, IT'S THE FUCKING STORY. How would ANY character matter if it has no story?
Don't even claim you were just pretending to be retarded for (You)s; you ARE retarded for spouting this inane unoriginal shit.
>>11451918
All I wanted to see in this comic since Chapter 1 was Petunia fight. Now that it's happening when it's not a comic, it means I have wasted my time entirely.
Fuck you, Morbi. Fuck you.

>>11453839
t. shill
>>11456489
Morbi claims the web novel version of Poppy is going to be "PACKED with art" but we'll see how true that is, and for how long it remains so.
When's the first "page"?
>>11457115
Monday.
>>11457187
It better be worth the wait
>>11457187
I'm not sure if the thread will survive until then
>>11457696
Threads eight days old. I'm sure it'll get there.
>>11451918
>Petunia finally going to step up and kick some ass
>BUT ITS A BOOK NOW NO FIGHT SCENES FOR YOU LMAO
I was actually willing to give the new format the benefit of the doubt but I am not happy right now.
>>11458121
The whole point of the format shift is so he doesn't have to draw anything BUT fight scenes and advertiseme-I MEAN reaction faces.
>>11458143
You gotta admit, there are alot of good reaction faces in the comic
>>11458121
Morbi's said over and over again that the action scenes are going to be more illustration than text.
>>11355034
>>11459246

>>11460207
>>11460767
>>11461366
>>11463345
>>11463391
Explain? Who and what are these?
>>11464403
Names, locations and ??? referenced in the comic.
>>11464403
Skyhenge is a thing that's been mentioned by a couple characters and Bright Eyes is a character that's been mentioned by Mary.
>>11464417
>>11464428
Can you explain and reference this, I am interested.
>>11464468
Just re-read the comic sometime.
>>11464477
Can you at least remember which chapters they were in, or any clues to where I can find the references?
>>11464655
It's in the comic.
>>11464675
>Check out these vague references that I am totally starting discussions about and excited to find out about
>Where are they, where can I find them referenced in the story?
>Idk, read the comic
Something seems fishy here.
>>11464801
I'm lazy and don't want to track down specific pages for someone else's interest, so sue me.
All I remember is that the Bright Eyes thing is from the first time Mary appears in the comic.
>>11464801
I'm just fucking with you anon. Because the question feels as dumb and spoonfeedy as the dozen other people who didn't understand how Chicadino's Lucky Star works even after it was spelled out twice in the comic.
Go re-read Clash in the Canopy and like half of the Queen and the Clockbelly.
Oh, and Bright Eyes is on the cover of Poppy Year 3.
>>11464801
It's sprinkled throughout the comic and I'm too lazy to pinpoint pages. Mary mistakes Poppy for "Bright Eyes" and Boris threatens to punch Poppy so hard she'll be launched into Skyhenge in Chapter 2 and I think Kit's dad starts screaming about Skyhenge during his spasm in Chapter 6.
>>11451918
>tentacle around the edge
We Poda now.
>>11464913
>Spoonfed
>Vague references that are mentioned once or twice that weren`t really anything of note to begin with until it was brought up now

His ability was easy enough to understand without needing commentary or explanations about it. Thank you, though your condecending tone still really is odd enough, as though you worship this comic and/or know everything there is to know about it. And/or there`s more to you than meets the eye.
>>11464941
Thank you, found them both now.
>>11465121
>as though you worship this comic and/or know everything there is to know about it.
Bruh, I just re-read it since comic poppy was co-
>And/or there`s more to you than meets the eye.
You got me. I'm morbi.

What furry comics should I read, anon.
>>11468708
>it has to be furry
Lackadaisy Cats.

I already read that and
>Lackadaisy
>Furry
That's like calling Blacksad furry.
>>11468877
That's a Fantomet I haven't seen before

I would say Endtown, but that one turned into shit.
I would say Beatriz, but it has too many typos and comes out too slowly.

Are you trying to seduce me Kit?

Cucumber Quest: Fun adventure/comedy with interesting art.
Faux Pas: Not sure if it's furry since the characters aren't anthros, but it's a cute, cozy comic.
Unlike Minerva/You Say it First/Namir Deiter/Nicole and Derrick: Nice SoL comics with a shared continuity.
Bear Nuts: More adult-oriented humor comic with adorable characters.
Furry Experience: Another cute SoL comic loosely based on the author's college years. Currently on semi-hiatus due to family tragedy.
Housepets: Clean, safe and humorous with some interesting plotlines.
Bittersweet Candy Bowl: A complete trainwreck with inconsistent art, asshole characters and storylines that lead nowhere. It's fun to see just how far it can go before it completely crashes and burns, though.
>>11472877
The Housepets guy has been doing a pretty good mature comic on his own site called A&H Club.
Who's the cuter critter?
Poppy...
Or Kit?
>>11474331
>>11474335
Why not both?
>>11474506
Because some people would prefer one over the other. You can't too sure in a place like this.

The choice is pretty obvious anyway.

I agree.

Suddenly "anime" is a bad thing to be in a Chinese cartoon forum?
Anyway, I confess I'm not seeing many cliches, at least not more than an average work.
>>11468708
I could recommend you at least give Jasper Gold a try, specially since it started updating again recently.

>>11477226
Anime is bad too when it relies on its own cliches and tropes, like powering up constantly.
>>11464801
>>11465121
You're a moron and you WERE asking to be spooned.
>>11471452
The author saw an opportunity to ease his frustration over his failed marriage and did it, at the expense of his characters. And the current chapter is a mess, it's like he doesn't care anymore.
>>11478788
>The author saw an opportunity to ease his frustration over his failed marriage and did it, at the expense of his characters.

>like powering up constantly.
Did people really get mad over Z's unlimited bladeworks.
>>11468708
does latchkey kingdom count? its pretty good.
>>11471452
Sendoff/ending to a long time character (and the main character's love interest) was basically her writing herself out of the story and everyone not giving a shit to that fact. Doesn't help that the new love interest was really forced (even if she isn't a bad character by herself).
Haven't seen much of the new chapter but the reactions to it weren't all that great.
Better question, will there still be waifus?
