whats the point of a fursona

The same question applies if you asked what's the point of an OC.

1) to create a representation of yourself in another world/dimension. in other words, an avatar for interaction

2) to create the perfect version of yourself. a representation of what you want to be but ultimately can't achieve.

3) to create your ideal partner. a representation of everything you want in a significant other or sexual partner

I created my main one for an AD&D game and it sort of stuck, hes cold logical but leans towards being lawful good. Got two more with one being a sociopathic type with his own aims and damn everybody else, and another which.... um basically allows me to roleplay as a chick for the purposes of sexual fetish based roleplay (which can't do with either of my male characters since both have the libido of a tree stump)

Personally speaking my fursona is who I'd want to be in a world where I could choose everything about me, not just appearance-wise, but personality-wise as well.
I just chose my favorite animal, added traits to them that made them stand out from the rest, and that's it.
