When it comes to great steaks, I've just raised the stakes. The Sharper Image is one of my favorite stores, with fantastic products of all kinds. That's why I'm thrilled they agree with me. Trump Steaks are the world's greatest steaks and I mean that in every sense of the word. And The Sharper Image is the only store where you can buy them. Trump Steaks are by far the best tasting most flavorful beef you've ever had, truly in a league of their own. Trump Steaks are five star gourmet, quality that belong in a very very select category of restaurant, and are Certified Angus Beef Prime. There's nothing better than that. Of all of the beef produced in America, less than one percent qualifies for that category. It's the best of the best. Until now you could only enjoy steaks of this quality in one of my resort restaurants or America's finest steakhouses, but now, that's changed. Today through The Sharper Image, you can enjoy the world's greatest steaks, in your own home, with family, friends, anytime. Trump Steaks are aged to perfection to provide the ultimate in tenderness and flavor. If you like your steak, you'll absolutely love Trump Steaks. Treat yourself to the very very best life has to offer. And as a gift, Trump Steaks are the best you can give. One bite and you'll know exactly what I'm talking about. And believe me, I understand steaks, it's my favorite food, and these are the best.

A good host is an entertainer first, host second. Don't focus too much on your events, backgrounds and instead focus on the entertainment value of your games. Sure they have to look good, but unless you're going for a memorable experience like Aikawa's hungertale, they don't matter too much. I could ask you right now what Asgore's background looks like and you probably wouldn't be able to tell me. Be a persona, be a character and most importantly make your games memorable. This can be done by picking your theme well, or doing something nobody else does. Find your unique trait before even starting to write your events.

Commentary is really subjective, I've never liked doing it myself. Either you make it something special (See: Seth) or it just gets bland like any other host does them. Everyone can look at a slide and read out what it says so I personally don't even care that much if a host doesn't do it at all.
>>11266765
Uhh, pretty much a rehash of the first reply. If you don't like getting attention, being a popular host is going to be hard for you. It's about putting yourself in the spotlight and putting on a show, sort of like a performer in a way? Much less big though, you're entertaining 48 people at most.
>>11266912
What if I'm just an unlikable person?
It's insecure hours all over again.
Holy shit, get a life
Remember that Rin made the awful haunted hotel code and is opinion isn't worth shit
>>11266962
So what you're saying is that the code is memorable?
>>11266973
pretty sure he said its awful
>>11266708
...I see.
Why not just give? I have food. Water. Shelter. Everything needed. Don't see why not.
>>11266962
>awful
That's why it was hosted instead of default for a month straight and now among the /co/des that are still hosted?
It was never meant to be THAT widespread, the code was made to host every now and then because it barely has any events to it so, yes, it got boring quick.
>>11266973
Crendor's code is memorable.
The haunted hotel code is a big boring turd, any /co/de is more entertaining
AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO DOESN'T CARE WHO HOSTS AS LONG AS THEY FOLLOW THROUGH AND GIVE US A WINNER?
>>11266987
awful can be memorable.
>>11266924
Thanks Rin, I don't really remember how Seth used to commentate, I'll admit that I myself don't really read commentary either, but I understand your point. I'll still host every now and again, but I'll quit trying to be known for my games/Hosting.
>>11267003
You're just saying that. You want a host that is better than others.
>>11266924
>I could ask you right now what Asgore's background looks like and you probably wouldn't be able to tell me.
They range from alright to bad.
Also, I'll ask: what does one do when one doesn't have a hosting persona and can't think of one?
>>11266924
Asgore's way above your level Rin, fuck off

Event writing, good commentary, knowing if people are just saying they like your game so you host again or if you really like it, how to battle the desire not to be the center of attention between actually hosting a game, how to not want to die while in the middle of hosting, how to get away with not doing wincards.
>>11267082
Shitstorm incoming :3c
>>11267040

I literally host as my irl self
no one can tell you that you have bad rp if you are your own source
>>11267082
No point hosting then.
>>11267087
So that's why Hungertale is so boring?
This is my wife
She has been a good girl today so give her lots of headpats
>>11267127
Who talks like that?
>>11266992
You don't have enough to give to everyone. Some make more than they need and give to others. But if they get nothing in return, they would not have all they need.
Coin makes the exchange easier, that is all.
>his eyes wander towards the caravan, where preparations are made to depart
Forgive Kharjo, but he has to leave. The caravan needs him.
>he gives a curteous nod and waits for a response before leaving for the moment
>i'm literally crying now
>i will never be a good host
This is my wife
She has been a good girl today so give her lots of headpats
>>11267040
Think of something you're good at. Seth was good at, well, being Seth. So that's what he did. Aikawa's good at coding, so he used that to create Hungertale. Hoshi (and yes, this hurts to say) is good at building up hype for his games, so that's what he does. I like to think I'm decent at writing horror, so I used that to make all my codes in that direction.
Think about what you're good at and amplify it by a hundred. That's your persona/shtick.
>>11267049
I never said he wasn't?
>>11267150
Don't say that

Commentate beyond the events, just don't read them verbatim. Apply things from the character's source material, or from past events, or even from past games.

I have never thought about that, and neither should you.

Why not both? Don't host just for attention, obviously, but if it comes to you, then it comes to you.
>how to not want to die while in the middle of hosting
Only hosting when you feel close to 100%. Also, caffeine.
