One day I was walking home from a long hard day at the coal mine. It was raining heavily and was also cold outside. As I was walking downtown I noticed between 2 building, laying next to one was what looked like a pile of rags. I thought nothing of it until it moved a little. I went over to check it out. It was a gardevoir on its side using her dress as a blanket. The gardevoir was shaking. When I came near it looked at me and made an eek sound before its head went down. After a minute the gardevoir stopped responding to me. I decided to take it home with me.

When I picked her up she felt very light for a gardevoir. I am guessing that it’s a she. When we made it back to my house I put her in front of the potbelly stove while I stoked it. It opens its eyes for a second before going limp. I went and got her tomato soup to warm up her body. I held the spoon to her mouth she opened her mouth and took in the soup. I did this a few more times before she passed out. I decided to take her dress off to clean it and repair the rips in it. What I see is shocking. She is 100% a girl but that’s not the problem. The real problem is the condition she is in. I can see her ribcage. Her skin is pale. She must have went a long time without food. She is just skin and bones.

Imho, if you're going to post in AO3, and share through a link, you should just do regular third person prose. Greentext is "designed" for and works best when posting it in the thread; it's also for not sticking out like a sore thumb if the thread is mostly about stories in that format. The appeal is that you have a sort of captive audience who watch the story unfold post by post, and can give quick feedback, since it's eye catching and right there in the thread whether someone asked for it or not. Or you could say one is like sitting down in the cinema and watching a movie with your friends, and the other is watching it home alone on Netflix. Aside from this, the format is just plain weaker than past-tense third person prose, or even non-greentext second person prose.
