The pseudopenis doesn't work like regardless of how much the futafags try to force that. The males actually start doing mounting behavior very early on due to needing all the practice they can get. To no one's surprise, trying to shove a dick into another dick coupled with the odd body shape of spotted hyenas makes that rather tricky. People always seem to forget the males can gets just has nasty and aggressive has the females during hunts and fights and the fact the males are just has capable of eating/cracking bones. There's even cases of males ganging up to take out or chase off lower ranking females. Spotted hyenas have one of the more complex social hierarchies of the animal kingdom.
