Comfort first, sexual second. I like the big soft padding and how cozy it can be. Being able to just be really cuddly with someone if it were the case. Plus it just feels nice and don't need to worry about making a mess. But not the number two kind of mess, hate that a lot.

Gonna jump in and say, I've been into diapers since I was 5 (got caught wearing by my granma), I think a lot of it has been about escaping stress, abuse, responsibility, escaping to a mental time where i was safe with no worries. I alss have a thing for the sound and feel of plastic diapers, likelybecause thats what I had growing up. Pic very related, also love footies!

For some it's straight up fetish, for others it's a relaxation item. There are a few here who doesn't even like to "use" diapers and only wear because they feel comfortable.
You could use them as pajama bottoms. Just remember that they get sweaty like any kind of underwear, so you might have to throw them away after about 5 or 7 nights of sleeping in them.

Many reasons: Comfort, convenience, the feeling of security having one on brings me. When I'd wear them, it was always over night on my weekends from work. It really helped me unbottle my stress to start the next week in a better mood. Plus, I just like the way they look on people. Wearing more than one at a time adds an awkward bulkiness to it that is fun to walk around in (just don't knock over anything expensive with your butt, you will be waving it with every step).

The smell of baby powder was also a plus and waking up in a soaked diaper to start your day by grinding on a wand feels good.

They are also plastic to further emulate the old ones.
Apparently, actual baby diapers today are not plastic and are now cloth type like Preschool, and have velcro fasteners instead of tape.

Sake of curiosity, what's the consensus on inflatable/full cloth stuffed diapers here? Granted, former doesn't work well with the messing crowd (either side), and latter just seems like it'd be a hassle to clean afterwards if used that way, but they do play into the comfort side of things and look cute in their own way.

Would've loved getting one of the squeaklatex inflatables myself, but they're kinda closed up at the moment, unfortunately. Pondering sewing an overstuffed one from an old nylon sleeping bag if I can.

I have cloth diapers that i use disposables in as stuffers, but IMO, full cloth stuffed would be really hard to keep clean/dry after laundering. Just make sure whatever filler is loose enough for water to get in/out. Never seen an inflatable one, lol

I have a cloth diaper that allows you to add your own stuffers. I use a folded towel to get it thick. I tried pee in it once, was not worth it and you need to wash it immedietly. I just use it now as a cheap alternative to disposables and only wear it for comfort and sleep in it.

Do inflatables exist? The question is: would you want a diaper with absolute zero absorbency? Or maybe you only like the texture, in which case, go for it.

Why not make diapers that are thick like in art, but to cut costs it isn't all usable. Like, have an inner layer of the absorbant material, then an outer layer of some cheaper fluffy material to add bulk. I know cloth is a thing, but it doesn't do ot for me like disposable, so I have to fasten several to get the thickness I need.
