I don't think they are, pred's just looking at their big gut with an evil smile while the prey's dazedly looking upwards. If you think about the perspective their eyes wouldn't even meet even if there was nothing between them.

Not-so-secretly I feel guilty for kinda liking paniced prey. I wonder how long that immediate, encompassing horror of getting swallowed would actually last, it's not like there's anything going to be happening to you for a good while - which just makes the eventual digestion all the more looming and creepy. It's literally just waiting for the small space you're in to start getting all acidic.
And it's not like it's going to be some big pool of fluid like often drawn, more like the stomach contracting around you while slowly secreting juices, trying to get you to slip to the bottom where most of them are. You could probably wipe them off your body, climb away from them and it would probably slow it down a big deal, but unless you can get out of there at some point, the fact of ending up digested becomes inevitable.
First you'd get tired and would just have to give in. Then it'd start to get painful and you'd probably really regret getting lazy. Eventually you'd be too worn out to get away from it no matter how uncomfortable you were. If not before, that would be the moment where it'd really sink in how horribly doomed you are. There's no preparing for pain that kills you no matter what.

I feel this too to some extent.
Like I enjoy certain types of fat monster-like characters when it's more like the "chubby cartoon dragon" design where they're just big and round but it's not really "fat" or it somehow just looks how their species is supposed to look which again, is something almost exclusive to cartoonish monster characters. And those types of characters that I like are few and far between. More often than not I do not enjoy how 90% of vore artists draw these types of characters because of how they overemphasize or "anthropormorphize" how the bodytype is to make them appeal more to fatfurs
I just don't like things such as fat rolls or especially not really spherical bellies on preds. Don't have a fat fetish, just like vore.
It's one of the reasons I prefer when the pred is large enough that the prey makes their stomach visibly extended but not balloon out.
