Yeah, what people don't understand is computers just count numbers, and numbers don't stop at 1999, and computers aren't self aware or contemplating some paradox or conundrum, they're literally just going 'THE NEXT NUMBER IS 2000'
and people thought that would end computers everywhere kek.

It's a NES game. Also, I'm trying to complete every Zelda game. By contrast to Zelda 2, the GameBoy Zelda games are both fun and a lot less brutal. I'm actually a fan of the niche that Oracle of Ages/Seasons had in their linked game concept.
>>10414568
This is true. Timeless classics.
>>10414594
That's because some computer software at the time used dates that were just the last two digits of the year. So 1900 was indistinguishable from 2000, which had the potential to cause problems.
>>10414594
the y2k bug was actually a thing
it caused some programs to read 2000 as the same thing as 1900, everything important that would have been affected was patched prior to new years though
>>10414548
Not quite because it's a different problem.
in 2038 32bit machines that store the epoch timestamp as a 32bit integer will suffer from integer overflow and basically turn into a negative number, don't think that affects systems that aren't 32bit though. ask ruby

https://youtu.be/ow6GeYer6t8
>>10414916
I probably will sometime. I feel like a lot of the themes explored in it were better drawn out in other games. Granted, it is the only game to take place in a dream, but it felt too short to really immerse yourself in that. Plus, they drop that bomb on you by like... the 6th dungeon? So there's not much story that develops off of that once Link realizes it. I also feel like there could have been more moments with Marin, but I guess there's only so much that can fit on a GameBoy cartridge.
Maybe it needs a remake?
G'night.

Well, the 3DS remakes of OoT and MM were pretty decent, the latter being even revamped with really, REALLY beautiful graphics and more challenging bosses. I can imagine a remake of Link's Awakening could be done well.
Of course, another option might be a different game in the same world, like A Link Between Worlds was to A Link to the Past.

I'm ok.
You know something that doesn't make a whole lot of sense?
In the hunger games they legitimately let their kids be taken and killed for 75 years.
Can you imagine that?
Literally 4 generations put up with it.
I can see one generation, two yeah, but by the third discontentment would be so high that there'd easily be riots and lack of work and shit constantly.
I mean, look at any place where that shit has actually happened in RL, there's always been some sort of rioting or uprising when shit goes on, even over 1 to 2 generations.
>>10417835
Oh yes, not sure how they can let that happen for so hold without any major revolt going on, quite insane, no reasonable society would stand for that for multiple generations without hitting at the system.
Oh btw, that ceo on twitter posted this a few days ago, quite the tease given we'll need probably another 100 years before anyone would be able to get this in my country lol
>>10417925
lol nice
>>10417936
Yea, so far the only way to get these sorta speed is buying a dedicated line, for 500Mbit/s it costs $8,300/month and the highest package they got is 10Gbit/s, for the low low price of $105,000/month!
Also some users are posting they're getting the new "open" speed option, one person with 17Mbit/s and the other 14Mbit/s, I pray I'll be able to get 4Mbit unlimited at least lol
>>10417986
Can you imagine having the money to pay for 105k a month?
Fuck that noise.
>>10418016
That's over 1.2 million a year on internet alone.
>>10418016
>>10418031
I'm guessing this is for the really big companies that could need this sorta speed, but not even the largest company here would spend that kind of cash just for internet lol
the next lower option, 1gbit/s, costs $12,000/month, which seems more reasonable for a super major IT company I suppose than blowing 105K/month like that
and to think you can get 1gbit for less than 120X the cost in some places in Europe lol
I mean, sure it won't be symmetrical, but being that much cheaper would be better for any company lol
>>10418067
That's still 140k a year on internet alone I suppose you're right in saying IT companies and internet based companies can justify that price surely. it just seems so steep to me though I guess.
>>10418076
Yeah, because any residential connection should be economical as well as relatively fast, also let's not forget these are dedicated symmetrical lines, meaning they get the full uninterrupted bandwidth, which is why the costs are so high, also it's not a good idea to take the prices here as a reference cuz we aren't exactly a fine model when it comes to internet speeds and prices :P
>>10418104
lol that's true I suppose.
>>10418114
If that were the case, we might as well have considered sub-Saharan African to compare :P
which is funny because once on Netindex's site we were bottom of the list when it came to upload lol
the great debate
>>10418153
Yeah, I think at one stage, I dunno if its still true or not, but aparently south africa had better internet than we did/do.

You can try disabling the telemetry directly: >>>/g/61354683
You can look into Firefox forks such as Waterfox or Palemoon. The legacy (non-webextension) version of ublock origin can supposedly block the telemetry.
For a "non-botnet" chromium based alternative, see ungoogled-chromium: https://github.com/Eloston/ungoogled-chromium ... problem with using that is you have to update everything manually.
Hope that helps!

Cool! Pic related is what you look like to me.
>>10421554
I'm fine. Went running yesterday... was only like 10km though. Other than that I haven't really been doing much, lol :P
>>10421616
I guess I can't run for that long. I can cycle that far on a bicycle, but not run. I hated running at school so much. When we had to run circles for over an hour non-stop I just had a blackout at one point and woke up in the grass next to the path. I guess at the time I didn't actively do any sports other than school sports for years though, partly because school sports made me hate doing sports, so I was even weaker then than now...
>>10421783
Why is your name field two boxes?
>>10421783
I did cross-country running, wrestling, and track & field in High School (14-18 years old). Was mediocre at all of those, but it did teach me how to exercise plus was it was legit fun sometimes...
>>10421992
It's supposed to be a blank name... doesn't work for everyone.
>>10421992
this desu
>>10421992
anyone ever get banned from xbox live?
i used to play GTA IV alot, i loved playing multiplayer and I'd always go for the buzzard helicopter in GTA IV: TBoGT
I played it quite well that I'd typically end up with the entire server jumping in helicopters to kill me as a team because my aim was really good that the moment someone tailed me i'd kick around in the chopper and kill them in under a second from really far away and people would just rage at me over it "CHEATER!!!" or AIMBOT!! kek
I never used an aimbot but microsoft actually banned me from xbox live over it.
I guess so many people complained about it that they just assumed i was rigging the game or something
>>10421992
It's supposed to be a blank. What Urshy said. >>10422029

School sports sucked for me. Plus I never liked how the teachers were always giving the really fat guys and girls good grades for trying hard and giving slim people who didn't have any muscle either, yet still performed better than the fat kids worse grades, just cause they looked more sporty, even if they weren't. That upset me way too much.
>>10422085
Idk, I always sucked at aiming, so I never got reported for that. But I can see how annoying things like that could happen, if one were too good.
>Alright, let's try using Borax on the inner small holes
>there, done that should fix...
>5 minutes later

>>10423684
This is your state on democrats: they'll spend more of the budget on complaining and legal fees than actually running the cities.
Does Seattle even have any major social issues to speak of?
All I hear from protesters out there is this imaginary "I'm being oppressed by an overly benevolant government!" or "I'm so poor!" or "Change for me larger society that may or may not be listening!"
