The ground missions all feel like a last second addition via repurposing multiplayer maps to have simplemented objectives like destroy all targets as well as the on rails arwing missions feeling sluggish and not as action packed as other installments.

If the Arwing's technology is that advanced, there would be no need to chop off their legs. It's not like it actually helps them withstand extreme g forces anyway. Doing this in real life just handicaps you. Miyamoto himself said it was just an art design at the time.

People often bring up real world pilots who had no legs, using them as examples to why Fox has metal in his old design. No, these real world people were just phenomenal pilots.

The original and 2 were fun, but felt like they were held back by the hardware.
Everything released after SF64 has either been mediocre, or flawed in some way, hobbled by a lack of vision.

So, let me get this straight: assuming ALL games have some degree of canonical value, does the timeline look like this?

Star Fox/Star Fox 64 - The gang's first adventure to stop the evil Dr. Andross and his army from conquering the Lylat System.

Star Fox 2: Faye and Miyu join the team, Andross is back to his old tricks after thought dead in the first game.

Star Fox Adventures - Faye and Miyu leave the team for unknown reasons. The team falls on hard times due to lack of contracts (maintaining military-grade equipment is expensive yo), and in desperation picks up a contract to send aid to Dinosaur Planet/Sauria. Hijinks ensue and Krystal is added to the team.

Star Fox Assault: The Bug Borg invade the Lylat System, and start assimilating everyone. Naturally, Star Fox steps in to save the day.

Star Fox Command: Some fish from Planet Venom wake up and attack everyone with spaceships. Attempts to be a multi-path story but ends up written like bad fanfiction.

Theories suggest it was mainly due to the game giving you a free rumble pack upon purchase, or that it was just a one hit wonder as in it was just lucky

Adventures is the black sheep of the series, it's not a bad game as some will try to argue but it's akin to Links Adventure in how different it is. Many wish to see this game remade on Switch due to learning of it being much longer than how it was, other examples is the real final boss being Scales with Fox and Krystal fighting him together

Assault some will say is rushed but has the best multiplayer in the series. Many have said the gameplay is the best way to go now for the reason of the genre 64 and eventually Zero will still try to hold onto dying off. Some wish to see this on Switch.

Command is despised by virtually everyone to the point they refuse to acknowledge it as canon. Though years later the director confirmed that none of the endings were ever the real one, so due to this the game cannot be counted. This game can easily be compared to Other M even though that game came out a few years later.

64 3D as mentioned in 64 didn't do well at all despite being the masterpiece of the series. Some will try to argue this is because of lack of advertising (there were ads, Nintendo pOwer even had a cover about it), but the release of Ocarina of Time 3D a month later and wrecking it's shit says otherwise. This raised the question if 64 was even that good of a game at all

Zero is considered the biggest disappointment in the entire series. Only a handful will defend this game, some will even try to say the reason for it failing it because of no advertising (there was), but it was a year ago when Splatoon came out and became a system seller as it sold over a million in 28 days (4.5 million in a year). This game also caused a revolt against 64 as this was the third-fourth time people have gotten this game, the only difference with Zero than 64 is it has a fanfic plot of 64 and desperately tries to justify the gyro controls.
