I've discussed things with Rik2tails, and he's agreed to finance me with a flat rate per panel and letter. This will allow me an an acceptable standard of living while I produce the comic. Entirely unrelated, I will also introduce a secondary protagonist! You'll just have to wait and see for yourself, but I can promise you he'll really allow the story to go in some exciting directions!

But really, actual Kazerad here. The only frustrating part about the roasting in that previous thread was when someone said "this is why he never comes to these threads anymore" when I think that was the first one I missed. Or maybe I posted earlier in it, I don't remember.

I find it weird when people think the nigh-unadvertised streams stem from a desire to maintain relevance. Like, it's more like an attempt to make money without increasing relevance by taking up a different project and making people think I moved on to something new. Well, the fandom is pretty small, and the two subsets of the fandom don't really interact with each other that much. You've got the people who go to the streams and are still convinced the comic will make a comeback, and then you've got the people who are only in it for the porn, and you've got varying amounts of dedication between those two.

But the fandom is really quite small, being for a glorified webcomic born off the homestuck forum, and small fandoms tend to have less autism than larger ones. Or rather, their autism tends not to eat itself to grow larger. And so it's honestly pretty quiet compared to larger fandoms.

Maybe if we get a new Elder Scrolls game it'll grow a bit, but that's almost as likely to happen as getting an update.

It's hard to say. Prequel is lucky in that it does interact with a larger fandom, because Elder Scrolls. It's not much interaction - some people in this thread at least have made it clear they don't know or care what Katia's from, they just like the lewds - but it's there, and that could keep Prequel on a life support of sorts, at least until some other Elder Scrolls related fan thing comes along. I'm honestly surprised one hasn't at this point - it's been a little more than six years now, Prequel came out a few months before Skyrim. You'd think something with a Skyrim focus would've taken over in the interim.

But anyway, if I thought it would work, I'd try to expand this thread to a general Elder Scrolls porn thread, with a focus on Khajiit and Argonians - not shoving out Katia, but trying to broaden the focus. But there's about as much (good) porn of that as you'd expect, and not near enough to sustain a regular thread, and most people don't seem to care about non-Katia or Quillweave lewds anyway.

Most creatives who want to make something for the Elder Scrolls games focus on mods. Of course, because there are so many mods, 99% of them end up swallowed into obscurity. So Prequel has that going for it, in that it's pretty much the only webcomic for the series, and an interactive one at that.

Anyway, yeah, most people don't want lewds of generic characters as much because they're generics, and outside of some background information there's not a lot that differentiates khajiit and argonians from regular cat and lizard furries. Meanwhile if you do Katia or Quillweave, they've got a whole narrative around them already, so it makes it easier to get invested.

I will say that Kaz sure found a niche for himself. If this were any other franchise his fandom would have been subsumed long ago. It's like the perfect storm of desperate and needy.
