Is it me or are the superhero/comic threads slowing down? Mezco, Marvel, DC all seem to have been crawling.
>>
>>6507055
Yeah the last Marvel one just seemed to suddenly die. With the DC thread it's probably just that there's barely ever any news to discuss
>>
>>6507055
I haven't noticed. It's natural for threads to slow down when they're on the later pages past the bump limit.

Dark Phoenix is awesome.

Meant regular Phoenix. I never found Dark Phoenix at retail and I'm not sure if I want to deal with the secondary market.

Yeah, that's a Xeno. I actually just picked up a Genocide 2 pack with 2 red xenos. My favorite part about it is that it has a small stand, so I can use that for Marvel Legends now which is pretty cool.

Favorite one? That's a tough one. The Carnage Select is probably up there with his really good posability, detail, and accessories.

For Legends, I'm biased towards Agent Venom even if his articulation isn't the best, but Black Suit Spidey, Ghost Rider, and Man-Thing are all really good too.
>>
Where do you guys store your extra accessories (alt. heads, hands, etc) I usually keep them in a regular plastic bag, though I'm not sure if it's a good idea since I'm pretty new to this.
>>
>>6507130
Regular phoenix had a shit head, you can actually use the Dark phoenix head sculpts on regular phoenix. I plan on buying a regular phoenix and using doing this.

Anybody going to Fan Expo Toronto this Saturday? I haven't been in a few years. My Marvel collection is all Toybiz/Hasbro but I want to add some import figures. Will there be a good selection of them at decent prices?

I collect a shitload of Jojo SAS figures and bought one of those plastic tackle box things for your sewing shit. It works out great.

I have a bunch of plastic bags all in a drawer of my desk, but as my collection grows it's getting out of hand so I might get a tacklebox or something

Went to Frank and Sons the other day and found a guy selling Jane Thor and Sunfire at retail prices. Sweet figures, though Thor's legs are pretty damn gummy and the cape's a pain.

Anyone interested in the build-a-figure parts?

Spider-man, especially in the black suit, could like flick you in the forehead at a slight angle and snap your neck in some crazy direction, it doesn't need to make sense.

If you want to get nit-picky about shit that matters, I'll complain all day about how people seem to have a misconception about wolverine having super strength when he doesn't.
>>
>>6507619
That's you assuming he hit him in a face to face stance, the alien could just be quickly spazing and squirmishing and Spider-Man hit him in the side of the head. Stop being a retard is what I'm trying to say.
>>
Saw a Spidey/MJ two-pack once at retail a few weeks back, but haven't seen any more since... did I mess up?

Probably. I've talked to several TRUs and they've had them and sold out quick. It's annoying, I'm sure 90% of the things are snapped up by scalpers, because there's no shortage of the motherfuckers being sold for 80+ on ebay.

Of course you'll always see posts in these threads about people seeing multiple ones sitting on shelves.

Hey guys, I have a question and any help would be REALLY appreciated.

I want to put the bearded Peter Parker head (from the cosmic Spider-Man figure) on a regular colored Spider-Man figure. The thing is, I don't want it to be loose/to have a small hole. Is there a regular Spider-Man Marvel Legends figure that has the same peg as cosmic Spider-Man? If not, which Spider-Man figure can hold the head?

I suppose they might have retconned it in years later. As far as I know that concept was first introduced by Raimi in Spider-Man 3 and Marvel has been making tweaks for synergy's sake for some time now.

No, it was definitely in the cartoon, so way before that.
Peter had the symbiote suit as his costume, and he was walking on walls wearing a business suit being a dick to people.

Worst thing it did in the comics was take his body out for joyrides while he slept to fight crime for him, because it needed the adrenaline

It wasn't a cartoon thing, since the suit making wearer more aggressive was made up before TAS came out.

According to some guy on /co/, the aggression thing was a retcon of Parker actually being more violent/moodier during the 80s, as that whole "Dark Age" theme was seen across most comics back then.
So after it became Venom, the writers said that it was the suit's fault.
>>
classic Blaze w/ chains really grinds my gears. flame throwing effect recommendations pls.
>>
>>6509386
But again, that was only after Venom was a thing. While Peter wore the symbiote suit, it never affected him emotionally. And Peter only wore it from 1984-1985. Most of the "dark" stories he had like the death of Jean Dewolff and Kraven's Last Hunt were only when he had the cloth version of the black costume.
>>
>>6509412
Just saying, it wasn't a cartoon thing, since that agressive part was years before TAS started.

I wouldn't know about the comic storyline, as i didn't start reading Spiderman until the late 80s.

Also, going around at night just to fight is aggressive.
>>
>>6509420
But that's the thing, it learned emotions from Peter in the first place. It never would have turned aggressive if he didn't try rejecting it. Symbiosis is a two way street. It learned emotions from Peter, and once it was angry that it got rejected, it only got further corrupted when it sensed Brock's hate and bonded with him. But while it was with Peter, it did nothing but benefit him. It was the victim in the situation, being rejected from someone it just wanted to help and have a true symbiosis with.

And it was just trying to copy what Peter did by beating up criminals, just like when it tried to kiss Jean because it figures that's what Peter would do.

What I'm trying to say is that the symbiote is a good alien who did nothing wrong.

>>
>>6509618

It was said the front skull and flames can be removed. I assume they will reuse it later for a Logan figure, which they could easily put together with the Old Man Logan body and an unmasked Wolvie head.
>>
>>6509762

Not necessarily, because Enchantress, Nico, and some other females peg warmed as well.
>>
>>6509389

I plan to swap heads with the black Ghost Rider and steal the chain for him. I don't mind the blue suit, I just prefer the black one.

>>
>>6509784
Being visibly black is a death sentence for figures of basically any brand.
MCU Mordo didn't fare well, either.
>>
>>6509275

The mane being missing is Toxin's biggest shortfall. It's the most recognizable part of Brock-Toxin's design and all we got was a flimsy little single tendril to represent it.
>>
>>6509805

I just wish they would've done a straight heroic version of Toxin from his first appearance, the red and blue with no mouth visible normally.

It's nice that Hasbro is willing to go all current events sometimes, but sometimes for me it feels like it's at the expense of the "classic" versions of the characters.
>>
>>6509786
How did MCU Black Panther do?
>>
>>6509814

Did he come with an unmasked head?
Regardless, he would've been packaged with the masked head either way, and thus not *visibly* black.

Hasbro shipped entire cases of Black Panthers

I love excessive articulation, but if it significantly breaks up the sculpt without offering any real advantage, I don't want it. The articulated fingers look really fucking ugly, and they really don't let him do much. Making a fist looks awkward and his range is pretty much just on how spread out his hand is, and what sort of passes as a thumbs up. On the other hand, the sculpt of the immobile fingers looks really cool while accomplishing the same thing as most of the articulated hands capabilities.

I mean this sort of thing doesn't apply to all figures, but generally articulated fingers in 1/12 feel pointless and look hideous. Though I do really enjoy Revo Venom's hands.

I'll bet most of the people buying White Tiger want to use her as customs fodder. She's got the closest thing to a nude female body that Hasbro has ever produced.

So gamestop is having a buy one get one free on all their clearance stuff and they have the Dormammu wave for $6.97. the catch is that the figures are chosen at random for some reason. worth it?

Considering that their supply will consist of 80% Mordo and Astral Form Strange, probably not.

I would sincerely doubt they have any Iron Fists.

So Human Torch has definitely been released in Canada. Walked into my local EB games in the mall of a place near Vancouver, and saw 3 Human Torches. I passed on him because I don't need the FF, but if I keep seeing him and Invisible Woman in store, I might be tempted to pick them up.

Monica is pretty fun, a good reuse of parts with no obvious missteps. Face sculpt is good, and her eye paint is actually pretty great. The coat comes off just like movie scarlet witch's, so you can do a jacketless version pretty easy.

It was also more hassle to get the axe from Loki to Lady Thor, so yeah, I'll put back the hammer. Thanks guys. :)

Yeah, I've seen everyone else and bought Punisher. I would buy the wave but I don't want to get stuck with 90% of a BAF and JJ is the one i want the most from the wave.

if I don't find her I will live with my old Man-Thing, Bullseye, and Snipes Blade and probably pass on the mediocre fat Daredevil.

I'm in the same boat on the X-men wave, I can't find Cyclops, so I won't get Polaris and Not-Pyro to make Warlock without him.

>>
Found Bullseye today, I love him even more than I expected to, this nu2099 body is still awesome (I assume that's what he's on, anyway.) One question though, what happened with his gun? On the back of the box, in the holster, it looks like a standard pistol, but for the retail release they went with the ray gun looking thing? I can always give him a spare pistol, but the one he comes with is almost too small for him to hold or to even stay in the holster.
>>6510931

>>6511271

Well, you never know. They made Udon Taskmaster and bullshitted out a totally non-canon Red Skull iron man suit.

Future X-men films centered around or featuring Laura are currently in the cards after how well Logan did, so they'll run out of comic X-23s to do toys of eventually.
>>
>>6511309
>bullshitted out a totally non-canon Red Skull iron man suit
The Taskmaster we got and Iron Skull are both from cartoons. Taskmaster was from Ultimate Spider-Man, and Iron Skull was from Avengers Assemble.
>>
>>6511314
they still gave tasky the udon head
but regardless, those are neither comic nor MCU sources, so the potential for video game shit is there
>>

I want a classic Taskmaster so I can swap the Udon head on the current one permanently, otherwise Taskmaster without a skull face just feels wrong.

I must say that the pictures impressed me.

>>6513423
he's pretty good. the trench coat one has a smirking face. you could also get that one you posted in a two pack with Ego if you wanted a figure of him.
>>
>>6513423
I'd say he's worth it. The Figuarts doesn't look very good, in my opinion, and even if you do think it looks fine, I don't think it's good enough to justify how much more expensive it is.
>>
>>6513423
Do you collect mainly Figuarts or MLs? The ML might look off next to Figuarts and vice versa.
>>
>>6513423
He's fine. Get the figuarts if you care for a couple extra hands. He's alright if you have a mixed ML and SHF collection, just don't put him close to SHF Cap because he is too short.

Cool, i guess i'll got for him, i just checked the Ego pack, looks nice too but it's not availabe in my country just yet, maybe i'll wait for it (if the price doesn't sky rocket like the Spidey MJ pack did, i could probably buy 4 figures for what they charge for it around here).
