Upcoming wave has been leaked: House of M Spidey, Doc Ock, Dagger & others (see pic below)

Still planning that waifu poll/tournament- figure a full round of 32 single elimination bracket would be best unless anyone else other ideas

I buy toys that are ridiculously better quality than Marvel Legends, yet I still think ML has some of the sexiest sculpts for women in figures. It helps that I greatly prefer comic book stylization with women, over anime style or strong realism. Just wish the paint and engineering did them better justice.

>>
>>6498428

Thanks. I'm in the houston area, if anyone is curious and all Targets have a set day for restocking or whatever. They had the full Homecoming wave.
>>
>>6498372
What's really galling is that they'd only have to care enough to rotate the joint by 90 degrees in their CAD software, do about two minutes of clean-up and call it a day. But it's better than Mattel, right? At least these have hinged wrists at all.
>>
Havent gottwn any of these, have thumbed through shelves of them that didnt interest me

>>

That's a good thing for everyone, then.
I went to that Target for groceries and happened to check for any MLs. Before today I assumed the Homecoming wave had basically run its course, as none of the figures seem to have much peg-warming power.

Luckily, though, I was wrong.

>>
>>6498557

>some figures get a ton of accessories while others get nothing.

I think you mean very little to none get a TON of accessories. Hasbro is seriously lacking on accessories for each figure, Ares is recently the only Marvel Legend I have purchased in a while where I feel like I got what I paid for.
>>
>>6498633

I wouldn't feel that way, considering he's 80% a 5 year old reused figure.

I would say the hips aren't "good"

And like, yes, he's fine. But he's still an old ass figure they repackaged with new shins and paint. They could've made a new one. Or even done a 6 inch Executioner since he's actually in the movie.
>>
Is it just me or is the whole Mantis wave HTF? I managed to get Nebula at Target, i had to order Death's Head from TRU.com and when i did that i tried to order Adam Warlock but he was sold out.

>>
>>6498719

Is there a third helmet with red visor in the package too?
>>
>>6498726
Yes, that two pack has 6 heads in total, and down at the bottom is the harness that the Manborg wave Hydra soldier came with, so you can recreate that one.

I think that red visor head is a repaint of the generic flight helmet the Nick Fury/Dirk Anger figure came with as a troop builder option.
>>
>>6498727
Well i guess ill be needing 2 then. Sucks its a TRU exclusive, i find TRU to have the worst distribution and stocking in my area
>>
Speaking of which, the TRU site currently has the Dark Phoenix pack up for order.
>>
Hi /co/mrade here and also a spideyfag, first time on this board, I was about to open a thread when I saw this general...so I want a good Spidey figure, reading this thread I came to the conclusión that Marvel Legends is my best beg right? And if yes wich one would you recomend? (Also probably buying Netflix's punisher)
>>
>>6498768
Straight up traditional Spidey? You'd want what we call Pizza Spidey. It's from the Hobgoblin build-a-figure wave.

http://marvellegends.net/Figures/InfiniteSpiderMan15/SpiderMan_0.htm

Right now it's way overvalued on the aftermarket, since it's consider THE Spider-Man figure to own. BUT, it's being repackaged as a "vintage" figure (see pic) in the next month or so and will be retail priced. Wait for that.

Also: Ignore anyone that tries to sell you on the revoltech meme.
>>
>>6498740
Are you sure? You can add to cart but its not available to ship to home. Its been like that for a while. Unless I just fucking missed it.
>>
just wait for the takara version lol
>>
>>6498783
Oh, I have no idea. I didn't try to buy it.

I was just looking at the MJ pack and it didn't even have the option to buy, which the Phoenix one did.
>>
>>6498787
Got it. The Phoenix one you can add to cart but only pick up in store but theres none in 100 miles for me
>>
>>6498782
Yeah i wanted classic Spidey! Thank you so much anon! I'll wait till next month..was about time to finally get myself a Spidey figure
>>
>>6498708
Same. I eventually found pizza spidey at target, but had to shell out a few extra to get 2099 online.
>>
>>6498719
I wish they'd make a pack like this with a couple generic thugs/robbers.
Spider-Man and the "street level heros don't only fight costumed baddies after all.
>>
>>6498768
My personal favorite Spider-Man figure is the Ultimate Spider-Man from the Spaceknight Venom wave. But if you'd prefer an older Spider-Man the Hobgoblin wave Spider-Man is your best bet. It's getting re-released in vintage packaging but without all his alt hands.

>>6498782
>Also: Ignore anyone that tries to sell you on the revoltech meme
The Marvel Revoltechs are actually really great with the exception of Spider-Man though

Both are good but I personally prefer the Revoltech

You can get him loose without the baf piece on ebay for like 30 bucks. And if you really care about that version of hobgoblin, you can buy the whole figure for around the same price, or the individual pieces for 5ish each.

The price gets ridiculous when you're looking for an unopened one, that's when you're looking at like 80 fucking dollars which is not something anyone should pay for any ML, in my opinion.

I was having trouble getting Spider-Man 2099 from the Sand-Man wave around here. He goes for so much online. Is it because he's a cool figure? Cool character?
>>
>>6497689
>Still planning that waifu poll/tournament- figure a full round of 32 single elimination bracket would be best unless anyone else other ideas

I guess you can use the nominated figures as seeds so that they don't face each other on first or second round whenever possible.

>>6498782
The Spidey rerelease doesn't have the alt hands of the original, though.

Also regarding pizza spidey I'm not a fan of how long his waist piece is and how high up the torso the resulting joint is. I have no idea why they did that. It was a retool of a shorter previous buck, wasn't it?
>>
>>6498899
It's because that's a totally new mold, and a popular character. I have him and I don't consider him to be anything special, especially without any accessories (that costume has a bad-ass laser-cape in the comics) and because I much prefer the original 2099 costume, but I have spider-man autism and must collect them all.

There's nothing wrong with him.

Laser web-wings would have been awesome. But more than anything, he needs HANDS. It's a goddamn crime that he only comes with fists. I mean, I sorta understand because his hands have a ton of paint apps so it would have been a pain to do too many, but still. My disappointment flows deep. He need some open clawed hands at least.

Anyway, he's a great looking figure. The costume is cool and the new body is fucking brilliant, one of the best ML has ever released. Aesthetically it's perfect, so well proportioned, and I hope they use it a lot in the future. The new shape of the butterfly joint cutouts is appealing as well. I don't know if it's just mine, but the joints even feel smoother and easier to manipulate than my other MLs. It's one of my favorites, even with the terrible lack of accessories.

I went to two today looking for the MJ two pack, and at both they said they had some but sold them, so I would imagine the Dark Phoenix one is the same situation.

Overall, I give this set a 7/10. There are some QC issues mainly on She Hulk. I will say, beyond the dried cum, she looks good in low light. I love Eliza. I hate that her hands can't hold her revolver. Lady Loki is the reason I got the set. She's 10/10 easy. Monica is okay. Kinda bland but good to have. Singularity is oddly loose. Her leg/hip joints are really loose. Might tighten them up if possible. Also, I hate her wrist joints, you could easily handham them. I used some warm water to move it but there were stress marks starting. Sif is cool. Both her and Lady loki have the same Cap molds. Her right helm wing is a little bent. Might fix it at some point. Overall, worth getting before it sells out and they're worth too much.

Make a splint on both of the sides to straighten it, hit it with a hairdryer for a minute, dunk it in cold water when still gummy, leave it in the splint for an hour.
>>
>>6499492

Heat the knee up just a bit, either with hot water or a blow dryer, to make the plastic a bit soft and then straighten out the leg. Then either wait for it to cool or you can run some water over it to help cool it off. Just don't heat up the knee too much or you could make it worse.

>>
>>6499517
All of the heat advice is good, but here's the thing: you can't make it worse by overheating, and you don't need a splint.

Your method should be:
Fill a vessel (preferably a Pyrex measuring cup) with 3 cups water.
Heat in microwave for 3 minutes. This will bring the water to a low boil, steaming.
Take each figure in-turn, fold their legs and curl them into a fetal position and fully submerge until the leg joints get floppy (you can pick the figure up by the head, wave it around and the legs flop--about 30-40 seconds).
Remove figure, move ALL joints back and forth at least once.
Straighten figure completely and lay on back on a cloth to dry.

That's it. I do this to every single ML figure I buy, new or used. I've resold figures on here constantly, and no one has ever said "hey this figure is fucked" because this method completely resets the plastic without stress.
If you still have a stuck joint, boil and submerge again, but this time, pop the joint apart, let it rest, then boil and reassemble. You can get knee pins apart by softening everything and popping the knee pin out with a chopstick, since those pieces are hard plastic that doesn't soften. With this method, you can pull out 90% of a female ML body's joints--just not the discs because they mold that in-place.

Probably because autists like him are grabbing them off the pegs as soon as they fucking hit for retarded shit like this. All I wanted was a Dark Avengers set up, anons, and I got this guy acting like a smug fuck.

It's like someone collecting like 19 fucking Thor figures and claiming "Oh, it's a Viking army." He's not even supposed to be army built, he comes 1 per fucking box. Seeing this picture weirdly got under my skin -- it's not only taking them off the market for me, but other collectors and even little kids who's first experience with having a marvel legends figure might be with a badass figure like this.

I didn't call MLs shit.

I said wanting a very specific costume that was popularized because of a specific artist and not getting that art is amount to getting generic cartoon aang instead of the specific artist's style.

Getting generic shit isn't cool.
>>

>>
>>6500553
The problem with getting figures of specific artist styles is they don't fit in with other figures. DCC's artist figures look good with other figures based on that art style, and that's it. Their articulation also tends to suffer so much from trying not to break up the mold too much, that they might as well just make statues.
>>
>>6500581
I felt that way about Deadshot in Suicide Squad, but that movie was shit regardless.

At least Thor 3 looks good. Making MJ in Homecoming black, as dumb as it was, had an added layer of funny to it because apparently MCU Peter just loves black girls.

I don't care if the style doesn't match the rest of the line, hence DCC having a generic line and artist series (plus Mattel shit), because matching the style should be the entire point.

Also, the Capullo series had a fair amount of articulation. More than Mattel's crap depending on the wave and character.

If you're picky about paint, order online anyways to guarantee you'll have it and keep it in the package for a bit while you look for other options. If you find a better one in-store, buy it and use the receipt to return the other one.

Working on some custom 3D printed heads for selling via Shapeways of things like helmets and monster heads that can readily attach to the ball end of the necks. I know the larger figures like AoU Hulk and certain BAF are much larger, but what are the average diameters of female neck joints and male neck joints respectively (or ballpark ranges)?
>>
>>6502406
Rom is owned by Parker Brothers, a subsidiary of Hasbro. A new comic started in 2015 released by IDW.

So while Hasbro owns him and can release figures of him, it won't be under Marvel Legends branding.

They actually just made a 3.75" figure of him for their Revolution SDCC exclusive boxset.

You're the one lashing out, friendo. What's your damage?
>>
>>6502444
I want to say yes but there aren't. your best bet is to find yourself a standard to use and let people who buy them dremel out more as needed.
>>
>>6499517

Identical issues with mine, Sif's helm was bent, Singularity looks like she took a baseball bat to the left knee but thankfully no cum shower for my Shulkie
>>
>>6502444
No. But if you keep the heads hollow and split the ball socket you should allow enough expansion to accommodate the overwhelming majority of modern MLs. Or you could just have multiple identical models with the only difference being socket size with a clear description of what it will work with. The only thing it will cost you is a few minutes to reconfigure the boolean and change diameter.

>>6502608
Dremeling might be a bad idea for a few reasons. First, end users that don't know what they're doing and fuck up their stuff then start complaining. Second, he couldn't make the head as hollow as possible because he'd have to not only make space for hole expansion by the user, but he'd also have to account for the sheer force of the dremel against the fragile material. If he can't make it hollow, it'll cost more money. So if he does make it more solid he either lessens his mark-up profit to stay competitive with other designers, or he makes the model more expensive and possibly push away buyers.

Might not be an issue for him, though.

Guy who was shitting on the weapons here.

Idk, like you could probably coat it in something but like, what's the point? Id just fine replacement weapons. The problem is that they didn't make them with a hard plastic for the length of the handle, so it just droops. Probably, at least for the hammer, it was to heavy and cause hulk's hand to droop. So they half assed it and kept the hammer part hard but the hand droopy...fucking dumb.

Hulk BAF is alright tho.

Ehhh... Maybe pin vise a rod down the length of the handle? Even something simple like a paper clip inside would suffice. I don't have the weapon since I don't buy Hasbro stuff, so I don't know the effectiveness of something like that. It also seems kind of long, beyond the length of a typical drill bit, so maybe pin vise a hole in the top and in the bottom, and have 2 rods meet?

Very serious question: If you were an adult that was both so poor and so pathetic that you'd do something like this... why not just kill yourself? >>
>>6503138
I dont think its about being cheap, especially not in this case. You put that much effort into something they you're just getting off on being a dick. Whoever did it is probably checking the store every day to see if anyone has bought it yet, giggling their ass off every time they see its still on the shelf.
>>
>>6503100
Serious question. What do you guys call on this practice? Like changing the contents of the packaging?

Also, how do people do this? I never saw this here in our country. Perhaps the toy store security are much more tighter than there in US?
>>
>>6503427
>Also, how do people do this? I never saw this here in our country. Perhaps the toy store security are much more tighter than there in US?

It's easy, you take it home, you swap it out, and you return it. As long as you have a receipt you're not doing anything overtly wrong to normal people.

And that's the real peoblem. Normal people don't know what this stuff is, they don't care. In the US retail is about the only job anyone can get, and it's destroying people. They are only there to do the job, to get through the day.

If someone is returning some bullshit, as long as they have the receipt, fuck it, they're good. Minimum wage isn't worth starting a fight with a customer over. Do it, move on. It becomes someone else's problem.

Hasbro has been making god-tier sculpts for heads since forever.

The difference between that old head and the new one is mostly just the paint, which they've almost always sucked at. Sometimes simplistic paint jobs allowed the sculpts to really shine through though. Rarely for fems though, because we're too used to seeing them glamorized with make up.
>>

>>
>>6505371
any figure that used the newer pegs so Star-Lord, Doctor Strange, Bullseye etc. they fit most arms without much issue and if one is to loose a little bit of floor polish/super glue will tighten it up fine.

People that do this have an addiction to it, like gambling. They keep getting away with it, it gives them a high in the reward center for their brain. This is the biggest thrill of their life. I agree, suicide or exploring something else is a better idea. This is more pathetic than hot wheels collectors.

I report all of these I see to customer serivce/asset protection. If you see it at a target, believe me, they do care and will ban those people from all targets. Wal-mart varies at stores. TRU tend to really care too. The store see's it as theft. They track returns, returns are time stamped, you're on camera, they're fucked. They'll keep getting away with it as long as you let them.

I took it up to CS. Not sure if the guy really cared but he was aware of it happening and said that they were keeping new MLs up there at the CS desk. To my surprise bullseye, blade and ares were sitting up there just for me so that was a win.

Yes, but like the pre-MCU ML movie figures are substantially worse than even the pre-Infinite Hasbro MLs getting released alongside them.

There were some that were good, like 6in Crimson Dynamo and Titanium Man released in the generic 6in Iron Man 2 line, which could've fit in with any branded legends wave, but if you're talking about the Iron Man 1/Incredible Hulk figures, none of them are that great.

Like the BAF Iron Monger is both an actual ML and 1000x better than the MCU version. Those figures didn't have the same standardized articulation or scale, even.
