>How the fuck did you get that for $14?
Christmas day a few years ago, I was browsing ebay while waiting for people to get ready to go out for breakfast.

While searching RDs, I noticed a Night Combat Eva that was ending in like 10 minutes but had only been bid up to $8.00. Figured I'd give it a shot, put in my bid which took it up to $14, no one else bid, and that's how I got it for $14, haha.

Pretty ridiculously lucky for sure.

I firmly believe ANIME is eventually going to expand into the OVAs. I mean an ANIME Ground Gundam would be like printing money, especially if they included enough accessories to configure it into unique loadouts and tossed in a GM head.

Wasn't a DX Chogokin YF-19 displayed at that one no-pictures Tamashii Nations show last year? The show where people first saw the Hi-Metal VF-2 (and a VF-0, I think?), but the only pic we had of it was one of the entire Hi-Metal display area from far away.

Actually, it may have been a Hi-Metal YF-19 now that I think about it. I just remember someone who attended the show saying they saw a YF-19 being displayed.
>>
>>6491938
I'm the one who asked about the VF/YF-19 DX Chogokin in the last thread and thinking about it I'd happily take Hi-Metals of the YF-19 and 21 if they're as good as the forthcoming VF-2SS is promising to be.

Wonder what's stopping Bandai producing DX Chogokins, do Arcadia have an exclusive 1/60 license or something?

>>
>>6491737

No it hasn't. It's been surmised that it has white joints but that doesn't close the case on what all might be included or changed (or not included considering the price tag). Fwiw 2chan doesn't know either, although they've made the same observations that we have.

HLJ is doing a weekly sale on robot damashii gundams, best part is with the figures you get those LTD ed blue and zeon red stands.

Trying to rationalise a third Z'Gok. Don't want a third Gouf.

Can't really rationalise a third Z'Gok as they were only on screen in pairs.

They didn't include G-Fighter and Gogg as they were more recent releases.

Since I didn't want a squad of FA Gundams, I might army build the Proto Gundam if I could justify it some how in the 1983 MSV continuity.

Licensing is a good bet, as anon hypothesized in the last thread. I also think part of it is the fact that Bandai produces so much stuff that they don't have the factory time for more DX Chogokins right now. I mean, even for something relatively simple like Delta's VF-31 DXs, where the only notable differences between variants is the paint scheme and the head, there's still almost half a year between VF-31 releases.

I do hope you get the chance to get a YF/VF-19 DX at some point; it's an imperfect release, but it's still an awesome valk, especially for the price. I'd totally be up for YF-19/21 Hi-Metals too, though!

>>6492414
Dang! Tempted to get a second one just because... good catch anon.

>>6492419
You'll have to use a middle-man service like nippon-yasan. Another option is mykombini.com, the advantage of that site is you only have to put 50% down, whereas at nippon-yasan you need to pay the full amount (plus shipping) when you pre-order.

>>6493870
Grats on the cannon fodder valk! What are you liking about it, and what still has you on the fence about them?

The non-valk Hi-Metal releases have been pretty fantastic, as they have the advantage of not needing to accommodate a transformation and they're brand-new sculpts, whereas the valks are essentially a 7 year old mold with some minor improvements (from the brief Hi-Metal line that ran in 2010). So I think you'll be happy with the Destroids if you're enjoying the valk.

Char's Zaku has a quirk where it's knee joints have a sort of soft-ratchet to them that has put some people off. The green MP Zaku does not have that issue. Also, some folks have reported the hip joints on their Char Zaku have gotten loose over time (again, green Zaku seems to have resolved this).

While my Char's Zaku's hips are fine, and I'd still recommend the release if you're interested (if only because it has my favorite effect part, the machine gun muzzle flash), but it may be a good idea to get the other RDs you're interested in first and wait for a sale to grab Char's Zaku (it has gone on sale several times).
>>
>>6494199
It's petty little things, mostly. The swap-out landing gear is not done very well in my opinion, and there's a few parts with exposed nubs/casting flash that didn't really need to be visible. The hatch and folding wrist on the forearm are the worst offenders for me because they're so visible in Gerwalk and Battroid modes. I like tight joints but at first the shoulders and a few others were just too tight, to the point I was worried the metal would shear. I also don't understand why they couldn't have used transparent inlays for the landing gear and shoulder lights like Yamato/Arcadia when they have them on the GBP armour and Destroids.

On the positive side I love how solid and weighty it is for such a relatively small figure, having to swap the canopy and the hands actually doesn't bother me much and the finish looks a lot nicer than I expected in-hand. Some of that might be a function of it being the mass production version though, the shade of tan they used for the plastic and the brown metallics are great. The transformations are pretty great and each mode is quite solid.

Thinking about maybe picking up an Arcadia for comparison, but I have this paranoid fear that if I do Bandai will either a) immediately announce a DX Chogokin VF-1, or b) finally solicit that 1/35 version from Tamashii Nations 2015.

I think so, there's nothing awkward about it and he looks very satisfied with his firepower and exudes a "come at me bro" attitude. Only tweak it could use would be an image rotation, but if you really had him defying gravity like that it'd just make the pose even better, haha.

>>6492631
Whoa, nice score.

>>6494214
Nah, those are very valid complaints. I really like your suggestion of transparent inlays for the lights. I'm glad they at the least used a reflective paint for the landing lights with the HMR releases though (the original 2010 HM release just used flat paint), haha.

I definitely feel you on the concerns about joints that are too tight. Speaking from experience though, the 2010 releases got very, very loose over time (the hips in particular), so I do prefer the tighter joints and fortunately they haven't caused an issue for me.

I'd recommend grabbing an Arcadia even in the face of a possible Bandai release, though! It's really a near perfect representation of the VF-1, I think the only real way Bandai could challenge it would be cost (as they did with their DX VF-19 Advance vs. Arcadia's YF-19), and a better method of locking the backpack in battroid (which you actually don't really need to do on the Arcadia, but if you do it scratches the tail fin).
>>
>>6494205
Probably the reissue of Char's Zaku from October 2016 wouldn't be too different from the first batch.
>>
>>6494235
I think they could one up it with some more modern engineering. The 1/60 had pretty limited poseability even for its age, and there are always some things they could do that haven't ever been attempted on other transforming valks, like a working waist joint or slide-out panels that hide the fact they're all hollow shells in battroid mode. It'd of course end up being way more expensive but we are pretty overdue for someone else to attempt it at this point, the 1/60 is ancient these days and even the hi-metal is getting up there too.

Best Destiny color.
>>
>>6492682
Curious, what's disappointing about it?
>>
>>6495169
They're probably referring to how the full armor piece for the chest limits some of the articulation. The chest-plate is one solid piece, which keeps the sides of the chest from going inward and also blocks the ab-crunch.

It is a bit disappointing, but personally, I feel like the figure makes up for it with its gratuitous accessories and effects, and still keeps the rest of the articulation from being hindered.
>>
>>6494186
fuck you, that pic made me go and shit out 38k yen for the VF-19 DX
its awesome
>>
>>6495185
Ok, fair point. I actually have it and that's one of the first things I noticed as I was putting the armor on--everything else was largely unhindered by the armor add-ons. I think it's an inherent design feature and kinda makes it feel more "accurate." Besides, not all upper body articulation is lost.
>>
>>6495237
You have no idea how tempting it is to do the same, but I just can't swallow that for something that retailed at a little over half that price.
>>
I don't have many robot spirits releases because the ones that interested me are too expensive. I did manage to grab 4/5 over the years and lately I've been noticing some particular releases at a very affordable price (RX78 First Touch, Pacific Rim 2, Knights&Magic).

Now, Bandai doesn't do ANYTHING just because so I'm wondering: is it because they come with no accesories therefore less plastic? are they trying to appeal to a new target audience? will the quality remain the same?

I notice that a LOT of robot spirit releases end up on frequent sales so I always thought they needed to review their strategy.

>mg prototype gundam I already have but not built or RD coming up and sell mg prototype gundam

Save money and stick with a bigger thing I have or cut out the build process for something that fits better with most of my collection?

I was on a gunpla spree but got burnt out when I realized I'm just shit, selling the kit would be problematic because the box is damaged (customs inspection) but parts are still good, the bulk of my collection is 1/144 just to fit in the lone cupboard I have and its running low on space

Nobody buying kits second-hand gives a solitary shit about the outer box unless it's some weird ultra-limited event exclusive, and even then there's some people who'd be happy to take it just to not feel bad about building it. All modellers care about is the condition of the runners and ideally them still being bagged, and the transfers being intact.

Just make sure you list the damage in the sale description.

It is tough. I know that HG Origin is doing a decent amount of MSVs too, but ultimately, RD ANIME is still superior in engineering and has a more complete line up compared to MG. They are made in the 1983 styling which makes them very clean and smooth and gives off the illusion of 2D.

Origin HG has okay articulation, but you need to be a good painter to make them look good. Their designs are more Katoki CG, so they will look less fluid if you prefer 2D action scenes.

So, this us the ultimate battle between traditional 2D Okawara vs 3D Katoki, with both lines having MSVs.

Too bad we won't be getting an RD of Waterproof Gundam as it is MMSV.

Hope you enjoy the valk!

>>6494316
That's very true, I nearly forgot about all the extra parts the Yamato/Arcadia has to hide gaps in battroid mode. Having that feature integrated with slide-out panels would be super sweet, and Bandai has shown some pretty neat transformation steps recently that could spice things up.

It's plain white plastic, though it's a very high quality, matte-finish plastic. I can understand the concerns about yellowing; it's an inherent danger of white plastic of course, and I do recall seeing reports of certain isolated runs of Yamato valks yellowing (one of the earlier VF-1Js, I believe).

Arcadia supposedly has taken steps to minimize the possibility of yellowing. In certain lights, the white plastic they use often has a slightly pinkish hue, and speculation is that this is caused by a plastic mix which helps prevent yellowing somehow.

No idea if that's true, but I do have an original release Yamato VF-1S TV that is over seven years old now. I bought it secondhand off Mandarake, so I've only owned it for about 3 years, but I've kept it out on a shelf ever since it arrived. The valk is still a bright, vibrant white with no indication of discoloring whatsoever.

Likewise none of the Arcadia VF-1s I own have shown any hint of yellowing, though of course those are much younger valks, heh. I know for Arcadia's asking price it's hard to just take the chance if it's something you're concerned about, but the Yamato v2 mold is seriously sweet.

If you come across a sale or otherwise come into some extra disposable case (lol), I'd suggest giving an Arcadia a shot. Another option would be to pick up an older Yamato brown cannon fodder VF-1A. I remember the 30th Anniversary version of that valk stuck around for a loooong time, and you may be able to get one at a reasonable price. There's also the possibility of Arcadia re-releasing it, though I'm a little doubtful of them doing so.

And still no sign of a Gelgoog or Zeong. Damn.
>>
>>6497886
Don't worry, they're coming eventually. They seem to be releasing figures almost by order of appearance in the series, and with ony a handful of MS left to release, we're sure to see Gelgoog pop up soon. I'd say Char's will pop up first, then the standard release, with Gyan in between or after, and finally the Zeong. Of course other MSV/exclusive A.N.I.M.E. releases will be spaced out between them too.

I'm curious if they'll bother with the Zock, or any of the mobile armors. I could see them doing an Elmeth at least. I also wonder if they'll release the Big Zam they already showed back when they premiered the A.N.I.M.E. line.
>>
>>6497916

Isn't the Zock technically a suit, not an armor? Theh would have to do it, maybe as p-bandai so they don't have to make much.

Oh my, oh my.

Both guys come with all the Char's Zaku effect parts. This is like how the Gundam effect parts are reappearing in the GMs.

Well played Bandai.

I am surpised that the Zaku I has the MSV bazooka and they specifically described the gas launcher as from 08th MS Team. Does this hint 08th MS Team will be next in line after everything from 1979 to 1983 is done.

Zaku I is akin to their Prototype Gundam, the sudden supplementary guy with all the accessories.
>>
>>6497922
I think Zock will be P-bandai when Acguy is released. They need to finish off the seafood while they are hot.

Then they could move onto the space arc for next year, mainly with Zeon including MSVs like High Mob Zaku and Zaku Psychommu. Maybe Bigzam and Bigro?

I still need a GM Light Armor and Dom Tropical Test Type. Maybe Guncannon II before heading into space.
>>
>>6497837
Wait till they release a Zaku II Ground Type ver 08th MS Team, though the will be different if they brand it as ANIME.
>>
I would be pretty upset if they skip GM Light Armor, even though Gouf Experiment Type is the only MSV so far who didn't have an 80s kit.

Granted that the GM MSVs sell super well, they should complete the GM line with the Light Armor, then Guncannon II may follow.
>>
I just want for them to move into the specialty stuff like the Gallop or White Base. Although I'm not sure they would even do that since all the ANIME stuff seems designed to display with each other and there's no way they could make a to scale White Base sooo.
>>
>>6498158
Nice! Unfortunately it's like 150 on mandarake now
>>
>>6498349
Gallop would be great.
>>
>>6498435
Yeah they MIGHT be able to do a Gallop if they if they can figure out how to package it right, maybe break it up into a few pieces or something. It would still be fuckoff huge, prolly put the Kshatriya packaging to shame. The shipping alone would be insane, I'd pay it though.

I suppose they could do something smaller just to save everyones sanity but I'd prefer a full size one, just imagining the display that could be built around it gets me drooling.

Which also get's me thinking, I wonder how much it could cost to make a to-scale white base out of fiberglass or something? (or whatevers cheapest and still sturdy) I know it's not for everyone but I'm imagining a giant battle diorama all situated around the White Base. It'd probably take up an entire room to itself but I'd still do it if I had the ability.
>>
35th anniversary VF-1S Hi-Metal has been pushed back to September. Fuck it all, I was really looking forward to that this month.
>>

I'm glad I have no interest in the A.N.I.M.E. line, I can put all my $ into these Ka Signature Sentinel releases. They are worth it, though.... the HGUC would not be able to do the Sentinel designs justice, based on the HGUC Ex-S, S and Xeku Eins. These Ka Sigs are much better.

Unit 2 was an exclusive, and comes with the shotgun. Then there's an even more exclusive Unit 2 that comes with the paintball guns and a command car.

There's no working tow cable, which is somewhat understandable given the figures are about 5" tall. It's cast into the bottom of the crotch (including the hook) and fully-painted at least.
>>
>>6498533
Hence the taking up of an entire room to itself.
>>
>>6498610
>Unit 2 was an exclusive, and comes with the shotgun. Then there's an even more exclusive Unit 2 that comes with the paintball guns and a command car.
That shit really annoyed the hell out of me and made me skip ALL the releases. I also don't like how cheap the weapons look in comparison to previous Patlabor figure releases from various brands. No way in hell was I going to jump onto the web shop exclusive train when the figures have flaw and are trying to withhold weapons from me.
>>
>>6498610
Really? Weird, one of the most iconic scenes from the show was Noa using the shotgun like maniac while ALSO using a regular shotgun herself.
>>
>>6498643
Should have bought Unit 1 at retail, then.

I suspect the line is going to go exclusive-only after the Saturn and Brocken hanging around this long.
>>
>>6498662
>Should have bought Unit 1 at retail, then.
What difference would that make? They already started doing exclusives before Unit 1 even had a chance to sell. Modern Bandai is pretty much anywhere from 50-90% exclusives depending on the line.
>>
>>6498666
Well Satan, I suspect the fact that Unit 1 didn't come close to selling out on preorders and is still available even now might have something to do with that. Given how many people seemed to want new, good Patlabor merch Bandai were probably hoping for higher sales.

>I suspect the fact that Unit 1 didn't come close to selling out on preorders and is still available even now might have something to do with that.
Not really an accurate indicator these days because prices are so high and most stuff isn't selling out on preorders like it used to. The only exception I can think of is stuff like Sirbine that even after a re-release is still selling like hot cakes. That's the exception rather than the rule these days though.

Most popular figures these days are moving units fast but not fast enough to sell out before release or even after release. Only stuff with intense popularity is managing to do what essentially 90% of all releases USED to do. This applies to all lines.

>>6498591
Though it's lacking accessories, the Ingram is an excellent representation of the Labor and the command car is very well executed too. If you're in the US, Amazon has it marked down to just $32.00, and one third party seller has it for a mere $28.23 (kudos to >>6492414 for discovering it).

I heartily recommend giving it a shot at that price if you're a fan of the design.

>>6498767
Preorders are not open yet, but when they do open it's actually quite easy to place an order. Tamashii Web Exclusive releases have a set preorder period (usually around two months) and you can place your order any time during that period.

Folks outside of Japan need to use a middle-man service, but again they've made it very easy and it's just like ordering something from any other online retailer. Sites like Nippon-Yasan and MyKombini (as described in >>6494186 ) are examples of easy to use middleman sites. Middleman sites make their money by adding a nominal fee to the cost of the figure itself (generally around $5.00 or so), so it's not a bad option.

I'm actually not entirely sure what a Japanese resident does to order one, but here's the RD web exclusive page, so maybe your friend can check it out himself to see what he needs to do:

>08th MS Team ANIME

Oh fucking christ if they do this I will completely lose my shit. My dick got hard just reading the words 08th MS Team again. It's a logical move too, considering how popular 08th MS team is, and chronologically it happens during the OYW which keeps it right in line with the whole ANIME theme. Aesthetics might be slightly different but I'm ready for a slight change in that department anyway. I mean hell the only time RD has touched on 08th MS is the Gouf Custom so there's def room for expansion there.

There's also a rediculous amount of variants in 08th MS that would make for excellent figures. Gouf Flight Type and the ambush Zaku from Battle in 3D? The different ground Gundams and the EZ-8? Imagine an Ez-8 with a legit parachute effect..... fapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfap

Really all of the OYW non-MSV A.N.I.M.E. stuff would be right up my alley, and any non-plane Macross HM-R would be great since I had some of those old school Exo-Squad Robotech 7" figures back in the day.

Hmm, for ANIME, my suggestions then would be the RX-78 (my preference is for the green Full Armor version, but if you want to stick to non-MSV then the regular White Devil is still excellent), and then some mix of the Dom, Gouf, and green MP Zaku II.

For HM-R, if your preference is non-plane stuff, you're in luck as the Destroids and Zentradi mecha are all new, modern molds and they're all quite excellent. I know exactly which Exo-Squad figures you're talking about as I had them too, and if that's what ya loved I'd heartily suggest any of the Destroid releases (they've gotten Spartan and Defender out, with Tomahawk around the corner). Some Regults for them to tangle with would be recommended as well, and while the original HMR release is long out of production and quite expensive second-hand, there is a web-exclusive two pack being offered that includes options parts to turn them into both standard and missile Regults.

Check it out!

Oh, and the Mk II Monster is out on the Destroid side as well. It's absolutely awesome, but it's also gigantic and takes up a ton of space (not to mention being pricey, though it does tend to get on sale during HLJ's seasonal sales), so starting with Spartan/Defender/Tomahawk may be best.

I liked the first one so much I'm not even mad about the exclusives, unlike the ANIME line.

Guess it's not too bad so far, just the Tyrant and Unit 3 to pick up next. I'm guessing the movie colours versions will all be P-Bandai and I now have my doubts as to whether we'll be seeing some of the stuff they teased like the carrier, or budget-grade Labors. Also doubt we'll see stuff like the Helldiver at this point.

The sample for this guy was revealed when the Hi-Metal R line was initial announced. This means we should get the Ostrich as well.

Currently First Gundam ANiME is aiming for a full cast, supplemented by selected MSVs(similar to the lineup of the 1/144 kits).

Dunbine is almost a full lineup, but they may skip Gedo and Dana O Shee.

Macross 1982 TV is getting to a full cast, we just need the two powered suits. Not sure whether than green pod thing is counted.

Don't know if you can really make this out, but the circled area shows how badly the supers got crushed.

The point of the circled part has been shoved so hard into the tray that it almost poked straight through the tray. I had to cut around that part in order to get it safely out of the tray, as it was wedged so tightly that it wouldn't budge.

Thankfully the part was made of sturdy stuff and seems to be fine. Ran outta time to play with these new additions, so saving that for tomorrow!

would you guys please stop recommending nippon-yasan? They're the worst possible importer to buy from, aside from nin-nin game which is probably more of a scam than an importer desu.. Reccomend AE, Mykombini, and HLJ instead. And Mandarake.

>>
>>6500652
No you're not fucked. They're not terrible or a scam or something, they're just not as good as the others.
>>
I mean I personally think they're terrible, but they're not nin-nin-game terrible, they're not going to scam you out of your order or anything. No they just do things like:

1. Overprice shit like crazy.

2. Charge more for shipping than the actual shipping costs.

3. Come back after they've charged for overpriced shipping and ask for even more money (this one happens all the friggin time to orders bigger than a typical figure)

4. Have some of the worst customer service imaginable.

stuff like that.
>>
>>6500658
How are Mykombini? One thing I do like about NY being in the UK is their willingness to undervalue packages.
>>
>>6500649
Anime Exporter (AE) has a high communication failure rate and have been known to send similar but incorrect figures...least according to mfc reviews and nothing new has been said other than "make your order but don't make any changes to it".

You also failed to mention amiami which also has second hand figures which offers another chance to acquire online exclusives which have fewer options shop wise (hlj and amiami don't offers those natively), oh and hobby search (1999.co.jp)

>>6500658
>overprice shit like crazy
Some prices are better than amiami and hlj, hell their p-bandai gundam kits are cheaper than gentei kits which is astonishing, their LTD online exclusives however can vary depending on desire levels and how long its been out as prices INCREASE the longer it sits around, cheaper to get the transformers masterpiece reissues via pre-order than existing ones they had from previous orders for example.
>Charge more for shipping than the actual shipping costs
>Come back after they've charged for overpriced shipping and ask for even more money (this one happens all the friggin time to orders bigger than a typical figure)
I've heard about this, from the 3 things I've ordered (all ltd stuff) they copy amiami ie too MUCH packing which makes things safer but really buffs up their cost, though a *little* price gouging could be present but I really need to sit down and do the math between the big 3 (hobby search, hlj and amiami as well as Japan's postal service) to get a more accurate idea of postage.

>Have some of the worst customer service imaginable
Never had to deal with them directly, hell all 3 of my packages have been untracked and all arrived safely.

That said I bumped up the shipping to a tracked one for my HMR regult 2 pack, not letting that one go without a fight

What are you even talking about right now? The customs agents aren't going to open up every package coming in by air to see if your $50 plastic toy is made in China. You're getting scared over nothing. At worst they'll randomly check a package here or there but even if they do they probably won't notice the made in china label, they're usually looking for things that may violate import regulations, like combustible paints coming in by plane.

Big businesses are a completely different story because they have container-fulls of goods coming straight from China by sea.

Understood on both points; the Zaku Cannon is gorgeous and the VF-31's Supers are fairly unremarkable. My main reason for getting the super parts was to avoid future remorse in case I decided later on that I wanted them and had to pay the 2-300% late tax, haha.

I gotta say though, having it in-hand, the Supers are way more awesome than pictures show (especially mine; I just can't get my camera to capture blues correctly). It's relatively few parts, and they all attach very easily but securely. I always hated attaching/detaching the boosters on the VF-25, just didn't know the trick I guess, but the VF-31's booster were a breeze to attach.

Homeland Security crushed my Zaku Cannon too, just wasn't as obvious til I opened it up. Smushed tray and parts that got knocked out of their spots rattling around.

Fortunately no harm done, though the Zaku itself was making a rattling sound that was driving me nuts. Turned out one of the spare antenna had gotten knocked out of its tray space and got itself stuck inside the Zaku's left foot. Some judicious shaking eventually got it out safely, phew.

Fantastic looking figure, my only gripe is that I wish the waist missile launchers had some more range of motion. I realize they're probably being true to the design, but I would have preferred that the launchers were attached via ball joints rather than the limited swivel-hinge.

They don't seem to do what Amiami/P-Bandai does which is make the page and then open it up at the correct time.

that's not entirely correct.
the US P-Banda is a new branch that is currently covered by Asia Branches, mainly HK for payment/shipping and even SG for site and support related.

They did start with left overs and extra but as you can see from the recent GFFMC wing it started to have it's own allotment due to it's targeted market. USA and Canada.

depending on how well it does, they will evenly be supported and covered by it's own location staffs.

looks like they are doing pretty well.
>>
>>6505193
>They did start with left overs and extra but as you can see from the recent GFFMC wing it started to have it's own allotment due to it's targeted market.
That's what I said. Fact remains it's a handful judging by how quickly it sold out when the Japanese branch had it for hours and everyone could have gotten one. Middlemen usually end up being slightly more expensive at most anyway, since US P-Bandai has rape shipping charges last time I checked
>>
>>6505196
But you also said there's no US-P bandai when there is ,and it's official. it's just currently run by their Asia branch staffs. It's pretty much a small startup right now but that doesn't mean it's not official. But most of the other stuff you said is true.

other facts:
The other Asia branches were only limited to 1 per order, (lots of angry fans) , it sold out in hours even when the website was crawling.
The US-P Bandai site were limited to 6 per order just like their Japanese site, it also last a hour and it even reopened again with more when it initially sold out. But that lasted only like 30 minutes.
The Japanese site had 2 runs, with 6 per order. and yes that sold out too. but those runs lasted for a couple of days. Mainly because it open on Friday /weekend and some Proxy services are slow on the weekends.

The shipping charge from US-P Bandai sucks for single order. $33 flat rate sucks if you just want a option part or 1 small item/ Robot spirit .
But if you order 2 mid size items like the GFFMC Gundam wing zero then the $33 looks pretty good. Now if you like to go wild and pre order 6, then the $33 shipping is like nothing and you will not find a lower or better price than that.

You will see more and more p-bandai stuff on the US-P Bandai site in the future with more than 1 per order and with the recently shipping rate survey, hopefully they will have more lower cost shipping option for smaller items.
>>
>>6505346
Doesn't it technically limit you to only one item of each figure?
>>
>>6505603
not for the GFFMC wing gundam. it was limited to 6.
>>
>>6505193
>depending on how well it does, they will evenly be supported and covered by it's own location staffs.

HAHHAHHAHAAA

P-Bandai local staff in the U.S.? PFFFTTTTTTTT That'l take another 5 years given at the pace of how long it took to just set up the shop

Yeah I always end up staying up all night and then missing HLJ's preorder anyways. Fortunately the VF2 came in and out of stock for like a week after.

>My question is, have US P-Bandai ever canceled orders because they accepted too many?

I don't think anyone has actually received anything from the US P-Bandai yet.

Could anyone check if these fit Robot Damashii ANIME?
>>
>>6506564
We got the metal build avalanche from them and their packaging is crap. There was like no padding. Imagine amazon packaging but shipped internationally. Item box is all beat up.
>>
>>6506735
I have those and while I haven't checked yet, at a guess they're too large. They were large even on MSIA's.
>>
>>6506861
It is more about the grip size.

The Guncannon rifle fits GM Sniper II but not Guncannon ANIME.

Rick Dias clay bazooka does fit the Rick Dias though.

Not sure about the Zaku machine guns.

how many more times can this re-release this mold?

Char's color next?

I dunno but I've already come this far so I might as well buy the rest.
>>
>>6508401
it'll very likely surpass the number of Unicorns

I felt that Full Armor Gundam would have been better without the armor gimmick and have a new mould for the torso, thus retaining the clearance for the shoulder joints.

Char colors
Zeon's gundam
Blue full armor gundam (this is the one I really want)

all sounds like web exclusive to me

also perfect gundam
>>
>>6509391
It sold out after roughly an hour, just for the sake of noting.
>>
>>6509146
Somehow managed to grab one from AmiAmi. HLJ seems to be totally out.
>>
>>6509641

It keeps coming back in stock for a bit. I've seen it available at HLJ 3 times since 6am EST, and I don't even want one; I just check the site out of habit and curiosity.
>>
>>6509700
Not surprising. Likely cancellations because CDJapan and Nippon-Yasan had better prices. They tend to be more expensive on shipping, though. And HLJ's customer service makes a few bucks difference not worth chasing. I never dealt with CDJapan's customer service, but I've heard nothing but nightmares about things like parts replacements

Worth it, shame unlike amiami's they weren't open right on 4pm japanese time, my break finished right on that time
>>
>>6509735
They were up, I posted the link to the VE-1 right at 3:01 AM Eastern for example. It's just their search system is awful and seems to take forever to add them now for some reason. The Star Wars Figuarts stuff stuttered in over a minute or two of time however.

Super Ostrich HMR when?

Heads up: Chogokin Gipsy's back up on HLJ.
>>
>>6509821
Already sold out again. Is there any reason to get it from HLJ over Amazon if you're in the US, given the sort of shipping rates you can expect on it?
>>
Anyone have the DX Draken III? How is it for you? Waffling on it and its ghost pack over the DX VF-19.
>>
>>6510916
Not American so I don't know what kind of perks you have with Bandai but my general experience is if it's a high demand item, best to get it sooner rather than later.
>>
>>6511372
In the case of America, Bluefin is an official redistributor that works with Amazon and a lot of other places to bring Bandai's stuff to the US. On Amazon the SoC Gipsy Danger is $250 plus sales tax for your state if relevant, and if you have Prime it's free shipping. Hell, even without that's more than expensive enough to get free shipping.
>>
>>6511246
I have it. It's quite nice visually, but it is incredibly complex due to how they did the transformation and its mechanisms, so expect it to be a slow learning experience to transform it the first few times at least. It's absolutely gorgeous, and mine happily remains forever in gerwalk mode which I think is the best for it. Already have my Lil' Drakens on the way, personally.
>>
Man, I'm so excite that I got a Elint Seeker preorder, I've only done 1/60 Yamatos before, but I had to get in on that lovely plane I missed out on in the past.

I hope I like these hi-metals.
>>
>>6512138
As long as you don't mind transformation involving swapping out a cockpit glass for a heatshield, and maybe swapping wings/hands, you should be good. They're solid little toys, they just have the compromises you'd expect from something all of like 6 inches long in fighter mode.
>>
>>6512308
Yeah I don't mind that, I always keep the little revoltech boxes out to hold accessories for my desk toys anyways.

Anyways, they can't be as bad as the Toynami ones, which I have messed with, so it'll probably be all good.
>>
>>6512377
Heat shield is the only absolute piece of parts swapping. Landing gear is removeable pieces too. There's hardpoint and hardpointless wings, then a combined stubby set of wings for battroid mode to replicate the anime magic shrinking they do. They have lil' stump hands for fitting in the forearms that you can swap out with pre-posed, properly sized hands as well.

So i ordered some shit off the p bandai shop a while back and i noticed my address.
In the address line should i include my FULL address as in city (brooklyn) too?
I rarely import so sorry for the stupid question
>>
>>6512981

Yeah you might as well mate. You never know really
>>
>>6497469

Count me as another one of your victims. After these pictures and three video reviews later I'm spending 300+ on one.

Are there any of the same solid quality as this one though? All the other designs I like seem to have either rapidly-loosening hips (YF-29 Durandals) or just really meh (The DX Chogokin x RD Koenig Monster). I'm a fan of the old style of valkyries more rather than the new ones though. Any recommendations?
>>
>>6513011
Your best bet would likely be going for 1/60 v2 Yamato/Arcadia VF-1s, if you're not a fan of the newer designs that the DX Chogokin line is focused on. They're going to be expensive as all hell to get your hands on, so good luck there.
