>>
>>
>>6474004
Hasbro's MO for a while now has been to release the repaint first. People who just want it for the new toy will bite, and maybe double dip when the "intended" use of the mold comes out. I'm kind of surprised third parties are only starting to do it now.

I've got enough primes to last a goddamned lifetime and I'm always down for a nemesis version though, so I'm probably down.

It just released so ya need to give it a while. What you do want "upgraded" anyway?
>>
>>6474078

None yet. A lot of 3P's have moved away from the whole upgrade/optional part thing. It's really only PE and at most 2 or 3 other groups doing stuff, and their releases are few and far between. It's not like CW where there was a new hand/foot set every other week and various upgrade plates and guns and whatever.

I don't have an answer to your question, but your situation is pretty common with a lot of 3P stuff. Unless something is complete garbage, it tends to be gone pretty fast. Only garbage tends to stick around (and thats why you see the same shit every time any site has a "sale").

Naa, I think PE is given early releases to youtuber for reviews.
The earliest one I saw is from the cube guy from japan.
And there is another guy that lives in Southern Taiwan that also got his hand on the figure last week. (I am in Nothern Taiwan)

Now you got wotafa and I still have not heard a thing about the figures start being shipped.

Peaugh let himself go.

Also, when is someone going to do an actually accurate God Ginrai/PMOP? Thunder Manus is very stylised, and the other one is just an ugly mess which they've still only marginally improved.
>>
>>6474007
I'm pretty much done with TFC too, but their Seasons are meant to be great. They look really nice but I'm not into their aesthetic personally, so I'm not going to get them. That, and they cost a lot.

>>6474616
Takara has taught me that trying to get the perfect modes correct at the same time will result in a gappy travesty or a fiddly nightmare.

There must be compromise somewhere. GT is making the toys look 15% less high speed so they can actually be playable toys.

Fuck, I really like the Planet X Starscream in Acid colors. Was going to avoid it initially but something about that color palette just tickles my fancy. I do feel like he's kind of a wasted effort though. So anywhere from $150 to over $200 mighty American Freedomerica Eagledollars for a $45 Leader figure when theres at least 2 3P PMP's in the works that look amazing, AND will have articulation and engineering to justify their price tags?

I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised by this guy. The quality is leaps and bounds over constructor bots so far. Yes the kibble is a bit obnoxious but, doesn't look that bad in hand. Also the pay off of having nice clean alt and arm modes is worth it. Transformation isn't too complex nor overly simple. Only frustrating part is trying to get things to line up the first go around but I can see it getting easier.

If zeta can continue this quality with the rest of the combaticons and their upcoming aerialbots I see a bright future for them.

The first link is just a KO voyager sized mold. It doesn't seem to have any changes except more paint apps, more in line with the leader paint I think.

The second is a Oversived KO version of the same mold. (I'm glad they chose to move along with the voyager mold, not a big fan of the leader)

They look like they are made by different companies though. The Oversized one Is Wei Jang and they included diecast pieces and are coming out with a 3rd release version with a helmet gimmick and improved engineering with I think the hands and maybe something else.

TT megs is good but you really don't want to transform him due to very easy paint chipping.

Desp is much more cohesive looking but has a less accurate gun and bot mode. Desp is also more solid and has less poor tolerances/scary transformation steps. Desp is also around 100 bucks cheaper but has less accessories.

It depends on how much 200-230 USD is to you. I'd say megs is worth it if you're okay with not transforming him ever.

I've taken the liberty of circling the problem area. And before you think I'm trolling, I'm not. He's fragile as fuck because he's basically a bunch of floating panels on a plastic skeleton made of little rods. He looks great but thats it. Should've gotten the GT one.
>>
>>6477525
I've pretty much only shopped TFS and from what I've seen, they've always been quick to ship what was in stock. The only time they aren't is because, by default, they will take your orders as they are when you place them and won't ship until all items are in stock. If something is in stock (and not from their "vintage" warehouse) and is in the same order as a preorder item, they won't ship it until the preorder item is also in stock. You can always email them later and ask them to split the order but that's how they operate.

HOWEVER, they do tend to take a bit longer to actually GET the items in stock. As an example, they were one of the last sites to get Grinder in stock after he released.

But yeah, BBTS is more notoriously slow from literally every shopping experience I've had with them. Slow to get the items and then slow to ship them. I don't get where the TFS hate meme came from though. Their customer service has always been great as well and quick to ship replacement/missing parts whenever I needed them and for free to boot. I like 'em, personally.
>>
>>6477556
>I don't get where the TFS hate meme came from though

Never used TFS myself, but the reason I haven't is because I've seen a lot of people complaining they list items as in stock when they're not actually in stock to secure orders, and then taking longer to ACTUALLY get things in stock than other places, plus apparently exceptionally slow shipping at times, especially around any sort of holiday.

BBTS is just kinda slow in general but they're usually the guys with everything in stock when others have long since run out.

Never tried TCP but they're supposedly good.

I use toydojo a lot, they're super fucking quick. Every order I've placed with them has gone out same day unless it's a preorder item (or has a preorder item grouped with it). Downside is they're a VERY small store so carry really limited stock, I've noticed.
>>
>>6477517

>they list items as in stock when they're not actually in stock
Hasn't happened to anything I've ordered before so I dunno what to tell ya. Honestly, I think a lot of people just don't realize that they have something on preorder in the same order because like I said, they won't ship until all items are in stock OR you email them and ask them to split the order.

I really wanna see the sales figures on the MPs since they've gone full-retard on cartoon pandering. Like, a lot of people obviously bought Megatron because he's fucking Megatron, but I feel like when we get back to ho-hum characters like Sunstreaker, they're alienating more buyers than not. I mean, were there any geewunners who weren't buying the MP line beforehand? I really can't see how this change in aesthetic could garner them extra sales, but going by the complaints I've heard in this thread and the official /tfg/ threads, it seems like a LOT of people have no interest in Sunbowstreaker, here.

I'm pretty sure they're doing fine. Megatron sold out almost immediately and apparently despite his flaws there was still enough demand for him to warrant a re-release, and last I checked Sunstreaker was pre-sold out on HLJ and AmiAmi, but that might've changed. I think they know what they're doing. Sure Americans don't seem to like these toys, but the Japanese must love them, and that's all Takara cares about.

>Ginrai is a legends sized manlet
That's honestly my biggest issue with the set. Every other representation had the cab significantly bigger and making up the bulk of the chest. In MT's case, they made the cab a legends-sized figure, thus giving a smaller vehicle, smaller robot, and it's barely ab-sized when forming the chest. Basically, it's too tiny and doesn't appropriately scale with anything unless you want to fudge it into your Legend collection but he'll be super huge in PMOP mode comparatively.

Maybe? It's been a while since I've seen the scale for it so maybe he will scale perfectly with Legend collections. Still, my point is that with the cab and actual robot being so tiny, Legends is the only scale this thing properly fits into to any extent. I don't really collect Legends too heavily so that is enough to turn me off. It looks cool but not something I need.
>>
>>6478317
Well in the first five minutes he hamhanded the figure twice. Throughout the transformation he kept having trouble due to hams for hands and transforming it on camera so he could not get a good look at areas he needed to. Many of the viewers are probably blaming the toy for that and not him.
>>
>>6478522

God Ginrai (ie: PMP with the Godbomber) is combiner sized in the lore. He's about the size of Star Saber, who is about the size of Liokaiser. So he's pretty fucking massive. Star Saber with his lion buddy is a bit bigger than even that.

So yeah they should tower over regular sized 'bots. Remember, Optimus only goes up to like, Devy's knee.
>>
>>6478464
CW Shockwave has better arm articulation and better knees. That's about it though.

Still, if anyone calls CW Shockwave better than Bridge Watcher it's 100% them either not wanting to replace their toys or them not wanting to buy 3P.

>>
>>6478719

Lose waist swivel. Loose thigh swivels too but it hardly matters with how sturdy his hips are.
>>
>>6478708
I'm not entirely sure about that. His heels still seem to have something round on them which would match up with where the small wheels were. Plus, his larger wheels were behind his knee-caps on his upper thighs so it's possible they're just hidden in the shot PE posted. He still has something hanging off of his legs around where the wheels would be so who knows.

They certainly seem to be taking far more liberties with Megs than they did with Optimal Optimus though as far as screen/original figure accuracy goes. The legs and wings in particular are totally different.
>>
>>6478664
At like 1/4 the price, CW Soundwave shouldn't really have better ANYTHING, but it does. At that kind of price difference, I can easily see people preferring the cheaper one. Bridge watcher might be better, but not 30 dollars better. I've heard the same sentiment about the iron factory seekers.

>loose thigh swivels

It honestly baffles me how all of these PMOPs need to end up covered with so many visible panels, seem lines and transformation joints in alt mode. We've seen plenty of Primes at every scale that don't end up this messy and it's not like the ability to slot into the armor needs a lot of extra engineering. it's pretty much just alt mode with the legs folded up, so why is this so tough for them to pull off?

Perfect Effect seems to have the best effort so far and it's still not perfect thanks to those visible ball joints in alt mode but it's still better than FH or MT's offerings. It's just a shame that it only works with the official toys.

For me the major issue was the little clips that hold the ammo snapped on 2 of the latches and that the big rifle was never glued together and falls to pieces. Fix that up myself but not one of the better Wu releases. I also recommend KFC hands to make him that much more expressive.

This so much. PMOP/God Ginrai shouldn't be hard to do, but no one is getting it right. Fans Hobby can't seem to get the trailer right, either - it's not tall enough and it sits waaay too far back.

MakeToys has gone for a very stylised design and theirs is also quite small. Which is fine, but it's not really a Masterpiece-style God Ginrai, is it now?
>>
>>6480070
There are a bunch of reviews out there already, anon. Learn to search.

I've heard there are some loose-ish joints but it's generally fine. MAAS Toys seem to have good customer service, and while this is arguably a bit pricey for a Deluxe-sized toy, it's something I personally really want to get.

Also, the hips are colour-matched properly on the final product. The one in your picture is a testshot.
>>
>>6480462
I would agree with you if you stopped trying to make "Powerpuff Jinrai" a thing. Fucking hell anon, it's time to stop. You need some help.

All this talk of PE's Beast Gorira...
I honestly just don't want to touch it when most people are touching themselves over it and anyone being actually objective are like "hey, there are some parts that don't tab in anywhere, and it has some loose joints".

Combined, those two responses just make me never want to buy it. I'd love a new Optimal Optimus but I'd rather just wait a decade for a new one if I have to at this point.

>MakeToys has gone for a very stylised design and theirs is also quite small. Which is fine, but it's not really a Masterpiece-style God Ginrai, is it now?

To be fair, the MT one is also in their Cross Dimension line.
>>
>>6480698
Oh, definitely, but that was my point - I'm totally fine that they went that route but it's part of their Cross Dimension line, so it wasn't meant to be a Masterpiece-style God Ginrai to begin with, and so our only options currently are Fans Hobby or Perfect Effect + Hasbro PMOP/TT God Ginrai.

I'm starting to really like the Unique Toys offering. Their Brawl and Swindle look really good. I wish they were a bit bigger, but still.

>>6480171 said toys weren't greased up except for the mold release grease which is wrong. I9 have never once heard about this or come across it being mentioned before ever and all the Iron Factory toys I've ever gotten have arrived completely dry with joints that had zero lubrication of any kind. If there really is some kind of lubricant applied at the factories do you mind at least explaining how you know this and what it looks like so we ALL know for the future?

>>
>>6481312

>>
>>6481380
I've been working with factories producing plastic items for 8 years now. I've visited at least 20, most of them do produce toys at least from times to times (a lot of factories aren't owned by the brand owning the product, they simple produce what they're asked to in each contract they get) and all of them use lubrication on finished product. Even if you don't "feel" the lubricant doesn't mean it's not their. In fact, if there was absolutely no lubricant, your figures would squeek like crazy even if the mold releasing agent was used.
>>
>>6481436

>>

I don't know what people's fucking problem is with the back of the wings, I'm literally autistic and I don't even care about that lmao. I honestly didn't know that was a sort of thing anyone would ever care about at all until people started freaking out about it on TFW. It barely looks any different from if they had filler pieces. Nah. Most people are just autistic competitions who want every character from their childhood cartoons to check them off a list and stand them on a tiny shelf, shoulder-to-shoulder in brick-like poses for maximum packing efficiency.
>>
>>6481374
Floppy, arm joints will not hold that pose without glue, and if you do glue it, the joints are likely to tighten too far and shear off... No heels, flimsy toes, bad color layout, can not hold any 5mm weaponry, and forget about swords.
>>
>>6481980

What makes the shelf-ster-fuck meme the default for transfags? G1?
>>
>>6482359

I'm gonna assume it stems from Transformers collections usually being both 1: Insanely fucking huge because it's an old-ass toy line with a million characters from A-listers to Z-listers, and 2: There being so much shit hanging off the average TF toy, even 3P ones, that, combined with the numerous nature of most TF collections, makes it a nightmare to pose any of them due to all of the shit sticking out from them at odd angles, because moving one bit on a shelf will knock over another 5 if your shelves are crowded to the hilt.
>>
>>6482359
I don't see my shelves as a display so much as I see them as storage.
