Alternatively, thank fuck we don't collect DC figures- those things a shit.

Moon Knight quickly disappearing off pegs, good luck finding him.

Those DC ones are embarrassing. I saw the Steve Trevor one yesterday and his shutgun didn't even have a trigger. It just has a solid plastic mound where it should be. I do have one of the Icons ones and it isn't bad though.

Check your local TRU today if you're looking for Dark Phoenix.

Did Hasbro ship out a ton more or something?
Do you know if the MJ & Spidey two-pack is getting restocked?
>>
>>6473160

My TRU had one but the paint on MJs face was fucked so I passed it up.
>>
>>6473144
Why?
>>
Saw a lone Ares from the Hulk BAF wave and a lone Jessica Jones from the Man-Thing BAF wave at my local Walgreens. It looks like they only packed out these two from those waves since their shelves are still loaded with older figures... Still can't pull the trigger at $20 a pop.

I went to two TRUs and didn't see that two-pack, but I did find Adam Warlock, so thanks for the heads up anyway.

It's insane how much better the Magus head is compared to the Adam head. Better expression, better paint, better detailing.

Is there any figure of Spidey who can crouch like pic related?
While i like the current ML spider-man (my current favorite one being Scarlet-Spider) i miss the toe articulation (and maybe some other that would help).
Any chance the new figuarts movie spidey can do it?

It's not just you, the Revoltech is very off. I enjoy Yamaguchi's figures for the most part and what I have of his Marvel Revos are some of my favorite figures but he really went off the rails on that one I feel. I couldn't get into it even if it appears to be the best option for articulation as far as Spidey goes.

Dude...Jessica is the last piece I need to complete the wave but she's the most expensive on Amazon (I'm willing to pay $24 or less w/ free delivery; non-discounted figs at my local Gamestop stores runs $24 anyway and Target and Walgreens don't have shit) and apparently the most popular other than Bullseye, given that I've found everyone else on the shelf. Why does everyone want her so much? She's maybe the worst looking figure and no accessories.
>>
>>6473889

Female figures are always shortpacked because they don't sell to anyone but collectors. Because they're shortpacked and don't sell to anyone but collectors, scalpers know to pick them especially out of any wave.

So then you have manufactured scarcity on top of shitheads knowing exactly who to nab to get the most $$$ for. And everyone else will only sell full sets online because they don't want shit stock like 100000000 Speed Demons sitting around in their warehouses until the end of time like every Walmart has.

Thor is really nice, and you can tell they really did try to give her extra neck range for flying poses. It doesn't work all that well and her head likes to pop off, but it's better than their older female bucks with no neck hinge at all.

Also, just when I was starting to give hasbro credit for giving their wrists a hinge on the right axis, they beef it again. The worst part is I don't think there actually are any hands with the proper orientation I can swap her's for.
>>
>>6473894

>>
>>6473917
Huh that's odd, the head on mine doesn't pop off easily at all
>>
>>6474022
It's not flying off or anything, it's just that the force+angle when you try to make her look up is the perfect combo to pop it. I've also gotta give them credit for her hair, it's molded so that it looks long, but it's also short enough to not get in the way and also made of the really soft plastic like enchantress' was. It easily could have been a disaster but it came out very agreeable.

If so, how is it? All the reviews I've seen are "this shit is worthless, all these characters have been released before except Gamora" but I don't have any of them, so that part doesn't bother me unless the figures are just shitty to begin with.

I just like to put my figures in groups, and I think he'll look better juxtaposed with space weirdos and a Spawn character than with the other symbiotes or Spider-folk or the misc. Spider-allies like Morbius, Blade, Black Cat, and Punisher.
>>
So how do Marvel Legends become rare? Does the company intentionally make certain figures in shorter demand?

I want to collect all of that Spidey wave next year for the Lizard BAF, but now I'm getting worried I won't be able to find certain figures if they're in high demand.
>>
>>6474502

they become "rare" based on several factors, >character popularity
Spider-Man and Wolverine are big examples of this
>general availability
Such as characters in the Space Venom wave that might've had the potential to be peg-warmers if that wave wasn't crippled by older peg-warmers (such as 2/3s of the Absorbing Man wave or two specific examples from the Rhino wave you can still find in stores to this day) preventing that wave from reaching as many stores as most others did
>exclusivity
Usually store exclusives (unless they're packed with trash like the Kate Bishop/Vision/FalconCap box) are in high demand, like the current MJ & Peter and Dark Phoenix & Cyclops boxes. Con exclusives are the same thing, but exponentially more in demand, usually.

Obviously scalpers contribute to these factors.

Then there's the less aggravating reasons, like if a character is seen as being good for customization or troop building, where at least the reasons for people buying them up like obsessive spergs isn't as underhanded.

I would see the Lizard wave being as widely available as the Sandman wave, which is to say not impossible to find, and regardless of that not being sold for assrape prices online.

Their Homemade Suit Spidey looks miles better by comparison.

Yes, but it's a problem with the trim around the opening of the shoulder where the ball fits--it blocks movement. Good luck with it: the only way to get it "unstuck" is to just jam the fucker and risk rubbing off some paint/plastic like I did. It seems like a common problem on that fig.

Ares is so weird. He's got presence, he comes with the most stuff I've ever plied out of a marvel legends box, and I like the overall look of him quite a bit. But goddamn, is he a brick. His neck is permanently looking down, his elbows are closer to 45 than 90, and those hips. My god, those hips. I've opened a lot of NECA stuff in the last couple days and that's what he reminds me of most.

>>6475457
Casting cave has a couple shotguns that might work, the SPAS-12 they have is different than what I bought from them a couple years ago but it might work for what you want.

12 inch Marvel Legends Daredevil isn't a SDCC exclusive right?
>>
>>6475476
It's because barring the shins and feet, he's made from engineering that's roughly 9 years old and wasn't very good to begin with.
>>
Goddamn. Just my luck, I managed to snag an Ares from amazon while it was briefly in stock. It came today, and of course it has the worst paint scratches I've seen on any so far. They're not even convincing battle damage. Guess I'm back to hunting for him again.

No joke: the True Heroes line of figures. They're sized like GI Joes, but their guns are hilariously out of scale and work great with 1:12.

They're actually 1/12, so they'll look small in the hands of marvel legends, but not freakishly small.

It's a combination of things- I wouldn't say he's "rare", but because Hasbro has shit distribution some stores haven't received him. Disappointment: The Box Set.
It was easy to see that Cyclops is on the old Bucky body, but Jean being on the Wasp body (at least from the waist down) is pretty dumb. Scott's belt doesn't really stay put in a good spot, and always looks like his underwear are creeping up over the belt line. Jean's knees are okay (rare for this body), but her normal head sits way too tall on her neck, and only really looks okay on another body like Kitty Pryde, Jessica Jones or Elektra. She's also too thick. Her Dark Phoenix body is supposed to be dangerously thin, not hippy and healthy. I really hoped I'd like this set since I didn't already have either character, but now I just want to return it.
>>
So, I bought Scourge from the Red Onslaught wave and I have a question about him. I just thought he looked cool, I have no idea about his role in any story or anything.

I need to know which group to put him with, heroes or villains. I've read several wiki articles about him, and the figure isn't the first version, but he seems to be a vigilante who murdered a bunch of villains in his initial run.

Is he a heroic character in the vein of the Punisher, or is he just a villain who happened to be hostile toward other villains?

So, after watching Homecoming, I really wanted Vulture and the standard suit Spidey, even though I don't really collect these figures. I had seen Vulture figure and he looked pretty cool, so I got them both.

Then I happened to be at Walmart and found a Civil War Falcon on sale for $9 so I got that.

Then I stopped at Walgreens because I've heard some cool stuff ends up there, and I ended up getting Sue Storm and Spider-Man 2099.

What am I getting myself into...

I've seen the wave on clearance at several walmarts for half price or less, but Iron Fist is obviously never there, so it's not like it even matters. That's the only figure I'd ever conceivably want from that wave.

I cannot believe they actually released a fucking figure that's just "astral projection" Doctor Strange. That boggles my mind. Even the standout terrible figures from other waves still have SOMETHING going on. They aren't one-tone repaints released at full price.

Not to mention it's the 3rd fucking Strange in that wave. They couldn't have done a comic-accurate Mordo? Or even the actual villain of the film, whatever his name was?

If Enchantress and Nico weren't so good, I would say it's basically an irredeemable wave.

As for the swirls, could just be me after knowing about GPS from all those years I spent in the transformers fandom, but gold plastic with swirls is more likely to break over time. Hasbro says they've perfected the formula, but only time will tell.

Good to know about the plastic. Are you sure it's the same, though? >“The first thing you need to know,” he tells me, “all I have on under that costume is a thong. They brought them in on my first day, like, ‘Here are your thongs.’ I had serious misgivings – would my arsehole ever be the same again? But I had to get used to it. Even though I was thinking no way, no way!” He’s still horrified it happened, as made clear by his blow-by-blow account of the incident. “You have to completely disrobe and then put a dressing gown on, but they’re very comfy ones, you can’t walk around in just a thong, can you imagine? And then you race across the lot to the toilet, then come back, get back into it – it’s such a mission.”

What vest is that?
>>
>>6477908
its from the NECA Sam Fisher figure. I've seen a lot of people use the vest from the armored Kick Ass figure though.
>>
>>6477908
Looks like the Neca Sam Fisher vest.
>>
>>6477381
>but hid one just in case.

Honestly, this pisses me off more than thieves or swap returners. Why hide it? WTF does that do? You think it wont get found in the time you're going to decide? What's the point? just buy it or don't. Don't be an indecisive fuck about it.
>>
>>6477928
I'll never understand this poorfag mentality either.

At least put that shit on layaway or just buy it and return it.
>>
>>6477946
Is that poorfag's crabs in a bucket mentality
>If I can't have it fuck it no one else can have it
>>
>>6477928
>>6478010

I saw some group of dudes doing this in target and when they got done I just went and got them and bought them. Pisses me off thinking that someone stashed a figure I want somewhere in the store though.

I came across a Walmart the other day that, no joke, had up to four full waves (minus a few Iron Fists) of the Strange wave, all still going at full price.
>>
>>6478065
Yes, at TRU at least.
>>
>>6478065
Walmart only does it during the Christmas season now.
>>
does anyone know if you could use the dark phoenix's extra heads on the new MJ body? any pics would be appreciated.
>>
>>6477652
The closest TRU is an hour and a half bus ride. I can't just casually waltz down there when I feel like it, and I'm generally the type of person to not pay for something I know I'll return.

>>6477626
It's still a quality control issue, makes the set feel half-assed, and I kinda with they'd stop using the Bucky Cap mold, it's kind of falling apart with every new release.

>>6477928
>>6477946
I don't really mind if someone finds it and buys it, milf of my mentality was waiting for the 4chan response to see if this set was worth getting a couple of repaints.

As for the poor flag mentality, it's not really that so much as I just finished the Warlock wave in one swoop today (4 figures) and I've been meaning to save up for a 100% complete Sentinel BAF r one of my local shops.

Also TRU confirmed for getting full cases of Thor and Netflix in, and if they're is a Thinkgeek store near you, as them to check in the back for Netflix stuff.
>>
>>6477908
If it makes you feel better, ShartimusPrime is on the verge of losing his YouTube channel because his constant patreon begging has done the opposite of getting him support and driven people away and he has no ad revenue from YouTube. Not that I dislike the guy personally, but he's definitely not going to be able to keep doing this when his wife has their kid in a couple months and he has no money from this to support them.
>>
>>6478283

I mean, I understand there are people who would be consoled by that, but christ how fucked do you have to be?

Since I'm not American what are usually the best/cheapest options for online buying? I'm mainly looking for 6inch Spider-Man stuff and e-bay seems to be a ripoff.

Bootlegs from Aliexpress, they are good quality, cheap and free shipping. I highly recommend pizza Spiderman.

Anyone have a hard time with Bors legs from the SDCC set

I love him but the leg joints connected to the pelvis suck. I can't move them for shit without making them really loose and immediately after moving them one time he wants to rock back and forth now. For my favorite figure in the set I wanted to keep him nice and its upsetting

Finally completed this bad boy. If only he came with a screaming face. It would be perfect.
>>
>>6478459
Probably not, but I'm willing to give at least a bit of a shot if I move it far away enough from the figure aisles.

Plus I live in Scalptown USA, including a local comic shop that will buy exclusives just to re-sell them at a higher price. No one except a small population actually cares about figures here.

What Tobey original Spider-Man 6-inch figures are there anyways? I've been looking for one for my collection. Thanks.

Just wait, be patient; These things will be $40 by next January. It's an all woman pack of literal who's in the boys aisle. I got the last 3 pack for $20 and the one before that is still being clearanced out.

>One company sent him a Spider-Man action figure for him to approve, but he sent it back because it looked nothing like him. “Not even vaguely,” he chuckles. “So I just said – really nicely! – ‘Guys I can’t approve it. Are you sure it’s based on my face?’
>They worked on a new face, and sent it back over for his approval. Did it pass the test? “Noo! It looked even worse!” he howls. “And now they’ve just released it, so… I guess they just thought, ‘You know what, we don’t need his approval.’ It looks nothing like me, it’s bizarre.”

Lol, i wonder which company was he talking about.

That entire wave was pretty heavily discounted. I got the whole wave for less than $10 a piece at Walmart.com a while back. Including seconds of each Ultimate Spidey, since I'd already gotten them loose from Dorkside Toys.

95% of all Legends slip to below retail prices a few weeks after release. Then it's a matter of if they actually go above that ever again.

These bastards came in today. They're alright. Frank's heads sculpt is pretty damn good. Articulation is standard in DD, Frank is lacking in certain areas like no ab crunch or boot swivel.
>>
>>6478794

For some reason, despite having Blade, Bullseye, and Elektra, I can't bring myself to buy either of them until I find a Jessica Jones who doesn't look like shit in the face.

I have some kind of BAF autism, I guess. I want the torso.

It's not comg to retail. It's considered a SDCC exclusive. Only available for a limited time on their website.

Verified the above with my local store and the "Rweb" number. It's not inventoried like stuff that will ship out from warehouse to store.
>>
Does anyone have one of those recent images of of each upcoming wave/check off lists?
>>
>>6478824

They said at SDCC that it would hit stores.

>>

yeah, because these threads always hit the image limit and we have to be extra careful about what pictures get posted, right
headswapping pictures and haul pictures always get in the way of the constant influx of ML news we get everyday, like I was gonna post my uncle who works at Hasbro's insider info about the next X-Men wave but that picture of Taskmaster and Scourge made me so mad I'm not going to anymore

there's not going to be real news until september or whenever hascon is, unless something leaks, and even then someone saying "look what I got today" doesn't prevent that

Why not just....BUY IT?!?!
If you can't afford it the first time you see it you shouldn't be collecting toys.
>>
why is this same "if you're not fucking loaded at all times you shouldn't have hobbies" discussion going on simultaneously in so many generals i frequent?
>>
>>6479336
It's the haves and the have-nots. The ones who can afford their "hobby" are further validated by the ones who have to resort to schemes in order to "afford" their hobby.

This is just another channel to promote the cycle.

No one wins except for the supplier.
>>
>>6479474
I don't have an issue if someone with less money wants to collect. Things such as hiding figures is kind of petty but whatever, not a huge deal in the grand scheme of things. What I do get concerned with is when someone overextends their means to live by spending it on figures rather than food or shelter, etc. I can't control how someone spends their money don't get me wrong nor do I want to, I just look down on it.
>>
