this is my set up. 2 sometimes 3 lamps with paper towels over the bulbs. the bulbs are LEDs so they dont get hot so i can leave the paper towels on them. backdrop is a large sheet of white paper from the local art store.

Not only that, but the mechs' stride is way longer than a humans, so according to the pic they would do one step, stop, wait for regular soldiers to cover suficient ground, then do another step.
But I took the pic and I like it, so it is what it is.

This same guy has been posting almost the exact same fucking pictures in these threads for years and they all look the same. Some shit transformers or star wars figure against a plain white backdrop with one of the tamashii effects. Can you just go a few threads without posting, they really aren't as good as you seem to think they all are.
what do you guys think?
>>6466323
Here's mine. Not the best looking but I like it and it works for me. Just two pieces of white poster paper on the wall and one foam board on the bottom. The bulbs are Daylight and that small blue lamp is usually switched with another large arm lamp. Working on getting a new desk soon too, one that's all flat so that I have a bit more space.

dudes please help. Whenever I take pictures, the depth of focus or whatever is way too high. Things that are like 2 inches infront of each other get blurry, and I can only focus on one thing. I need to adjust my Fstop or something but then my pictures come out too dark even when I have a light shining directly on them.
>pic related
I would be happy with having Boomerang's left arm blurry, but Id' like to have his right arm and face in focus.

>>6467722
I couldn't agree more with this post. They're so uninspired, my eyes gloss over and go numb. After years of suffering all these years, I feel like I need to address why I dislike (most) of these photos:
First off, the compositions are all pretty one note (dutch angles) and too cramped to boot, with no good use of negative space.
The depth of field is all over the place, sometimes used to good effect, but most of the time half the photo is blurry, serving no artistic or creative purpose, ex. >>6468093.
The lighting is also pretty bad for the most part, no creativity involved, just some fill lighting that blanket the entire scene. It's like white noise and really stale looking. The skeleton office photos show some potential though for creative use of lighting.
The outdoor photos look worlds better by comparison, but the cramped compositions still remain. Chill with the macro lens settings or pull back a bit to give your pictures some room to breathe.
You have some good ideas as far as subject matter goes, but it far outweighs your skill level. You'd benefit from some experimentation in different lighting techniques and composition. It also wouldn't hurt to use a different background other than white, though I've seen you use grey before and that was even worse.
>>6470732
dude, i love your criticisms more because they are constructive. you dont just say
>hurr stop postin
you tell me exactly what you dont like. thank you. i will work on these and experiment more.
>>6470945

>>6471005
Lighting. You need lighting. No matter how much light you think you need, guess what, you'll need a lot, lot, lot more.
guys, is this shot too dark? wanted it to be moody
>>6470615
>>6471119
A little.
>>6471119
If anything it's too well lit. The white light looks extremely unnatural for a night time scene. I assume it's meant to be maybe moonlight but even then it's too white, cold and strong.
Would be interesting to see how much of the image you could light up with just the orange glow.
>>6470945
I'm glad. Looking forward to your improvements.

Hey so if you want to make your dof farther, turn your fstop up as you did, but don't forget you also need to reduce your shutter speed to compensate. Sometimes even if you shine a light right on the subject, if the shutter is too short to let that light in, the photo will be still be dark. Hope that helps!

Pic of cubicle box.
>>6467932
hey man!
in order to get the best out of your staged pics, you'll need a tripod.
to get the depth of field right, youll want to turn up your fstop number. to compensate for this, you'll need to keep the shutter open longer and let more light in.
Av mode on the camera (right next to P and S) will let you set the aperature and automatically adjust for shutter speed.
good luck
here are some test shots I took with w stage/box i made in 10 min

How does Advocate Pinoy use his monitor as acba backgrounds? I've tried but monitor bus always too bright. Is it just raising the shutter speed to make things darker and use desk lamps?

>>6483762
Still over $25 a pop. Thats 3P Legends figure tier pricing at the very least, for something even smaller. And weren't they sold in sets of 2 for $40, or am I just imagining that?
>6483765
Yeah, sets of 2 for $40, which isn't bad at all imo,
3P Legends? Third Party?
They charge more for the engineering than for the quantity of plastic they use, they wouldn't be as cool if they were any bigger.
I can tell you the plastic quality is pretty chunky and nice, metal pins everywhere, even the 1" pilots have a lot of articulation and sharp detail.
It's certainly much better quality than most robot things at that price range, I'd get one of these over as many of those megablocks mechs I can buy for the same money any day.
If you like Mechs you won't regret it, if only for a cool desk toy.

>>6487934
>are not looking to spend even an amount someone like /p/ would deem "entry level".
Definitely this. /p/ is basically always gonna point you at $200-300+ DSLR's and lenses. Most people aren't gonna blow $200+ on photographing $15-60 toys every now and again.
