I'm assuming these were done in higher quantities as builders. Phase green is the perfect color for Villser and it's mutations, so it makes sense these had a higher limit and probably run in a higher quantity. Also, phase arms and axis joints in phase green to go with these.

20 Neo Phase and 5 Revenant left.

I'm not a big fan of Neo Phase personally. It's not a very attractive shade of green to me. I do own the original Phase Buildman, and it seems to me to be a different shade of green--yellower and more...ooze-esque. Like, it's the perfect color of Ecto Cooler and Retromutagen Ooze. It's gorgeous and I'm never gonna sell it and I wish we could get more of this color plastic someday.

With Glyos this thing happens a lot where at drop time I'm like "meh" and pass on most of the stuff, and then months later I'll see someone's pic and be like WHOA WHAT IS THAT IT LOOKS AWESOME and I'll realize it's the same figure I passed on 4 months ago.

A very similar shade came back and was released as a Battle Tribes figure. Onell also did a freebie phase arm in this color around the same time and then released some other stuff in this color, such as Skeleden and Crayboth. Then, Bio Masters used the color for their figure. So, there has been some cool stuff over the last year done with a yellower translucent green PVC.

It also has to do with builds and adding little bits, for example lots of the more plain figures from recent years can looks shitty or boring in stock forms, but really come to life with the proper accent color or some detail bits from OSM or Spy monkey weapons.

It's nice to know that the paint is so tough...guess it would have to be, seeing as this is a toyline where the parts are constantly being pulled apart and rubbed up against each other. Hell yeah. My only complaint with Glyarmor is that the arm pieces just don't want to fit sometimes- Particularly on the open Traveler hand. I just can't see the fit working at all- I see that the wrist has an oval shape, but even turning the armor to fit it, it doesn't fit.

I'm really curious to see how much I hate this figure in-hand. It seems like the only legit color for Villser is green. I know this kind of thing gets posted here a lot, but I am working on some figure designs and I'm planning to make them glyos-compatible at some point., I'm ready to move to the prototyping stage. My question for you guys as glyos-system fans, is whether you like pvc or vinyl more? I can easily scale my designs for either. The first figure itself is builder-oriented, less about individual characters more about having some solid colorways

Why is people complaining about how tight the glyarmor is not an acceptable complaint?? Damn just accept the fact it's tight. It's crammed on. I have two figures where the paint has come off removing it. But these fucking die hards every single time.. You gotta take a hair dryer to it or you gotta put it in the microwave. Yea don't get me wrong it works but why in the fuck should anybody have to do that and it's always said in the context of "duh" isnt it obvious you have to get a hair dryer to build with a figure that's intended to build with! The paint coming off is a problem I'll agree but its most likely caused by the factory putting the glyarmor on when the paint isn't fully cured. So many cry baby bitches in these glyos generals. Anyway, I do struggle with Glyarmor myself, but I do sorta understand the problem. Think about it: Matt needed to engineer a part that fit not only over shins, but also over arms. These two parts are quite differently sized and shaped. It was virtually inevitable that one or the other was gonna suffer a little.

So I straight up did not notice the purchase limit on the Villser and ordered two. But after I saw someone on here comment that we wouldn't be able to make the double builds because of the limit I immediately contacted onell and asked what they wanted to do. Being the cool guys they are they said it was fine and not to worry about it.

I got my Villser today, and I'm actually a little disappointed. Cool looking figure, but it's less posable than I thought it would be (that's on me, I took detail lines for joint cuts) and so many of the parts feel monopurpose. Granted, I've never gotten much into the mix-and-match. No knock on Matt, you can't please all of the people all of the time.

Speaking of paint- Bio Phase Pheyden's joints were a fucking nightmare. One of the legs was pretty much stuck on to the point where I was afraid I'd break the joint if I forced it. The figure looks fantastic, but it was frustrating to loosen the joints.

I was also hoping for a little more advancement in the arms. After seeing Noboto's arms, and how the angle of the cut allowed him to spread his arms outward, I hoped future figures would learn and grow from there. Oh well.

I'm quite pleased with my Villsers. No time to build yet, but I like them just as chunky bruisers. The only part I'm really displeased with is the biceps--no matter how you rotate them, they just look awkward and bulbous and break up the flow of the arms in a bad way.

Honest question, is it too late to get into glyos as a line or has there never been a better time?

Its not too late in the sense that a good number of the same molds are available currently. It is too late in the sense that a good number of molds are also unavailable/retired/out of business and that's never good in a building toyline. The worst aspects are paint is far worse than it used to be and some of the more fun aspects like vinyl are on life support at best. So the true glory days are over, a common meme is glyos is kill and while it's not entirely true it's not entirely not either.

Man, TJ is relatively new to the Glyos scene, but in the Kamen Rider threads and on /toy/ in general we've know him for a long time. Dude definitely IS an asshole. One well-known example: a fan once sent him a huge box of free toys. He opened it on camera, then proceeded to get fucking bummed out and publicly chastise the guy for putting duct tape on a belt which he would now need to clean. Who fucking gets toys for free and then bitches about them to their entire fanbase? Sometimes I can't believe TJ still even has any fans. I understand where he's coming from. I'm one of those people who have only ever gotten phase arms, axis sets, and crayboths from his orders instead of whole travelers, test shots, and wave previews. It's a fundamental problem that arises because of Matt's liberality with such freebies. I've felt the disappointment of getting "just a crayboth?" from Glyos orders. Meanwhile, I got two free warps packs and a old head from a Callgrim order and a felt like a winner.

He's also correct about the clique/circlejerk being really defensive. On the OTT you could never complain about anything without prefacing with "Matt's great but . . ." and you'd still get people like kent telling you "then don't buy it if you have a problem with it". /toy/ and the old #glyos (the one I started up, not the new official one) were the only real avenues of frank discussion in the glysosphere.

That said, top wew what a sperg.

Hey you know it's still freebies. "Just a Crayboth" or some extra build bits is stuff you would never have otherwise. I know I would have never bought a cray on my own until I had a few in hand as stoways. I don't know the method to Matt's decisions, other than bigger orders tend to get more freebies. I feel like we shouldn't antagonize Matt for his freebies. (Not that anyone is right now) If you get something extra, come talk about it and show us. We're not all here to whine about line, or want to sit and grind our teeth about paint or molds. Some of us just want to buy cool plastic and show builds.

Matt does come in here, i wouldn't want to make him feel bad about the little extra he tosses in for his customers. I'm no shill or anything, but when it comes to Glyos, what we have is a almost entirely consistent line of good quality sculpts and colorways, with just a dollop of risky colorways and releases. I don't think he's charges more than what's fair for his product, with shipping. So if you get a little cray-boy and a phase arm in your order, that's like a "thank you" or a "please come again". If you get some off the wall fig or colorway that hasn't been seen, I'm very certain is because he wants it leaked and talked about. The rampant speculation and guessing games we play before drops land is part of the Glyos fan experience.

I've been supporting Onell since around the time Glyos launched. I remember reading coverage about Pheyden and Exellis on CollectionDX back in 2007, and before that, seeing Matt's custom figures featured on microforever.com.

I've been lucky enough to snag early colorways, a bunch of production molds that appear to be out of commission now, several Custom Corps figures, and even a couple Microshin heads (because I happened to be at Grass Hut in Portland, OR at the right time).

Here's the thing: I've paid for everything I've wanted. Or I've missed it, because it sold out. I've never expected to get anything for free, and anyone with that mindset needs to reevaluate their relationship with toys. Glyos doesn't owe you anything.

Matt's always been kind—much more so than nearly any other toy manufacturer, big or small—to throw in freebies. 99% of the time I've received my order, there's a Crayboth or Phase Arm or Axis Joint set stowed away in there too. Every time, I think, "Wow, what a nice guy."

That's why people get defensive—because one person's sense of entitlement reflects badly on all of us. Not everyone who collects Glyos is playing the freebies game.

Secrets and surprises have always been part of the Glyos experience, but they're entirely transactional. Back in the day, there were these little games (like the Cliffs of Granthan, but more rudimentary), and if you beat them, you'd unlock a figure. The original Classified Sarvos was one example, IIRC. You would then PAY FOR for the figure. And it was okay to hide stuff behind a little challenge back then because "mystery" items didn't sell out within ten minutes.

When the fandom grew exponentially and "cartjacking" started to happen, Matt very quickly realized the fairest way to give everyone what they wanted was on a first-come, first-served basis. Old-timers don't get special treatment. Trust me. There's a lot I've missed out on because I wasn't fast enough.

The people who do seem to receive sneak peeks and substantial freebies are either lucky (I was one of the lucky people to get a Gobon when Matt was tinkering with the weight balance), or are Matt's friends—like, friends who know him because they've hung out together. Many of these people met Matt through Glyos, and have gone on to start their own Glyos-compatible toylines, but they didn't get to that stage simply by showing up for every drop, commenting on the blog, or sending emails to Onell. There are relationships happening behind the scenes as people make an effort to actually meet each other and make a connection beyond "hey give me all that cool free secret stuff."

I think people forget that there's only a few hundred Glyos collectors out there. It's pretty easy to track people across social media platforms and comment sections and see who has what, if you really want to dig into it. There aren't many test shots and unseen figures floating around—there'd be a lot more posting (and drama) about them if there really was a secret club who got all the exclusive shit.

Finally, if you really, really want freebies that "no one else" gets, here's a tip: try placing an order that doesn't coincide with a drop night, at a time when the blog is relatively quiet. I've done this a few times over the years to stock up on parts and have seen some surprise heads/figures (that would eventually show up in the store a couple weeks later). No guarantees, of course. And if you're placing the order solely in the hopes of receiving an awesome freebie, you're probably not going to get it.

I spent more than that on almost every drop from 2010-2015, but I've gotten plenty of stuff free. I have also nearly stopped buying glyos this year because I'm sick of supporting a line that's no longer doing things I enjoy. Paint is worse and most of my favorite items are no longer produced. New items tend to look far more bubbly and rounded. I always saw people saying they didn't want to get into glyos because everything looked like the michelen man, I never thought that was true until you start putting recent items like Noboto, Mushi, Glyarmor, Vilser, Darkness soldier etc next to eachother. The neat mechanical lines of exellis and vinyl have been dropped and retired for the most part. SAD!

These two zeroids are probably the most fun I've ever had with a single Glyos order just by itself.

So many contained builds and just enough parts to be creative but so many that you run out of uses.

My opinion on roboforce has completely changed.

I'm already a little bored of villser. Like I made a cool build and I don't feel like even taking it apart. I'm still having a blast with those red zeroids though.

Also, I got my battle tribes stuff in the mail today. I love the vampires and I'm glad I got two vampire bats. I might try and off load the purple ones though, they're not really doing it for me. I'll take some pictures tomorrow.

How am I wrong? Refute it. I'm in every single glyos group on FB and the boards and I've seen the same one guy who always posts glyos pics post a couple of builds and then literally 3 or 4 other photos. If the entire glyos fandom is supposedly so amped up about a new figure then where are the pics? Where are the builds? We used to get more haul pics of the 36th release of Noboto than we have of this supposedly super exciting new figure. If a full new mold can't energize the fan base then what hope is there?

I don't think it's terrible but it definitely could have been better. It also should have been the Delphi first then an extra set for the Vilser. The arms are bad, no getting around that. Having a torso piece that is roughly traveller sized that has ports on both the front and back though is incredibly useful. Also I love the unique accent pieces like the front hose, the head cap and the backpack. At this point most limbs will feel varying degrees of same so it's detail parts that will make or break future figures IMO.

It does look a bit bad, sorta chunky, but on the other hand, that grey does really remind me of Hun-dred. And since Glyos paint is so strong I'm not really worried about it scratching or flaking.

But the weird thing is that the club exclusive Maxx in "bootleg" colors had red legs, green arms, blue body, yellow head, and orange hands. Plus a few RF figures come with extra sets of arms. So it seems possible, but I guess he goes with paint for more control over colors.

I'm gonna assume this is how the parts are distributed between sprues then. Looking at the arrangement of parts on Hun-dred, there isn't a clean separation of parts that could have been molded in another color without still having to paint. And there might have been a weird mismatch between paint and PVC if they'd tried to go partial molded color, partial paint.
