I don't have anything to add other than I'm sad this franchise is dead
>>
>>6459051
I had this guy but his thigh snapped right in half right out of the box. Stayed away from them since. I'd heard bad stuff and gave them a try but it wasn't worth it. Awesome looking figure, too.

>>6459056
Hug me, brother. At least figma might bring us some more figures. I want a Yellow Guyver 2 as well as the monsters.
>>
>>6459041
Creatureplica has Yeti, Bigfoot, Werewolf and Zombie Werewolf

Then you can grab NECA Stitch

Then there's a couple of Marvel Legend BAF like Green Goblin, Abomination that can shoe in as generic flame goblin and fish monster respectively.

I'd rather have some Zoalords or notable Zoanoids. Guyvers aren't different enough from each-other to keep doing.
>>
>>6459056
The manga is till going, though.
>>
>>6459195

Is it being translated by anyone though? Shame it never got a video game.

The universe is like Scientology, but cool.
>>
>>6459199
I honestly don't know anymore. The Guyver Advocacy dudes are such dickweeds that I gave up on new releases some time ago. I do really hope that we get Guyver Gigantic, Dark Gigantic, Guyver 2, and Zxtole before the line craps out, though. I'm sure those are stretches, but a man can dream. Oh, and Gregol would be killer for a generic thug/monster figure.

The deluxe Predacons are still pretty good monster figures, particularly the Fuzor/TMII ones.

Making a line of toku-style monsters has always been a dream of mine. Even as a kid I bought more of the monster figures from Power rangers than the rangers themselves.
>>
>>6459225
>Not including my boy Aptom
They could even reuse one of the guyver molds heavily for his fake guyver mode and then make one of him post-zxtole absorb mode.
>>
>>6459706
Oh shit, I completely blanked on Aptom. Yeah, he'd be a must-buy.

I just picked up the skookum (pic related)

Line is a bit limited right now but they're really solid figures that seem to fit your criteria

These better be prototypes.
>>
>>6459590

I wish I'd kept that figure. William was great.
>>
>>6459588
You have increduble taste
>>
>>6460457
it clearly is
>>
>>6459059
The qc is awful but I really like him so I bought a second one. My first one also had his thigh snap immediately. I fixed it, but later his elbow snapped.

My current one's shoulder joints are insanely tight, which is the biggest danger to his elbow joints. It's incredibly difficult to move his shoulders without mistakenly putting too much pressure on anything below the bicep.
>>
>>6460457
Skookum, Sasquatch, Silverback, and I think there was one other recoloring of Sassy all were devoid of ab-crunch. Yeti on the other hand I think has a ball-socket diaphragm.
>>
Anyone have in-hand pics of Guyver 3 yet?

It shipped days ago
>>
Been checking this out recently.

lack of ab and wrist articulation make me iffy though.

We really need to have more threads for random kickstarters like these, otherwise it's a missed chance for cool toys.
>>
>>6460606
Those are super cool, but I also dislike the lack of more common articulation. I'll think it over.

>>6459817
If I were any good at customs seems like this would be an easy figure to mod into my original picture. Still neat and might be worth a try! I've wanted their werewolf for a while now but never enough to pull the trigger.

It's still being translated by a single group. They only release their scans to those who buy the japanese books ( either through them, or providing proof of purchase somewhere else ). Honestly not worth it at this point. The manga has frequently taken breaks of several months at a time. The last issue released April 2016.

I dunno man. It's like one of the most simple, but critical things. The eyes are a focal point on an otherwise dark and uniform figure, make sure they have good contrast.

Then they went and made them practically invisible by using brown tinted clear plastic.

Promo shot for comparison.

From their kickstarter:
>The figures have 11 points of articulation, but here's the cool thing; though the sculpting and approach to the design of these action figures is very contemporary and detail oriented, the way the production and articulation has been engineered, is very old school. The torso will be made of hollow vinyl and strung together very much like a MEGO figure, allowing for an incredible range of motion and pose-ability, that you don't see a lot these days in most action figures. It's bringing back a little of that 70's magic and mixing it with a level of sculptural detail that was rarely seen in that era. In my opinion, this is truly the best of both worlds. It also prevents a lot of the breakage you see in the jointed areas of some figure lines out there, that basically make them more like statues instead of a poseable figure. The range of motion and articulation in these figures easily equals or surpasses a lot of what's being done nowadays, and it's achieved with less joints.
So it sounds pretty interesting, especially since the Mego dolls did get a wide range of motion from their joints.
>>
>>6460606
This is awesome, thanks for posting. I'll be picking one up (hopefully assuming they get funded) to interact with the Nemo toys this guy sculpted from Mezco, still my single favorite item ever released. I've always been on the lookout for a decent fish monster to go along with those figs and most are basically statues so this is perfect. Really hoping it meets the goal.
>>
>>6461288
Cool for folks who love mego, but I'm not a fan. Hope he makes it, and revisits them again later with modern Articulation.
>>
>>6461288
I'm okay with the type of jointing. It just looks bad, like too small, too skinny. Looks off balance and ruins the amazing sculpt of the upper body.

What are you looking for in a generic monster? just something like the common werewolf, zombie or dragon? or something that still has a name and specific design that can pass off as the former and/or has army-build potential?

Well, I caved into temptation and bought this lot from ebay. Quite pricey, but they go for a lot everywhere if you can find them. At least guyver will have a neat assortment of enemies to fight! Plus, I feel it highly unlikely any of them will get decent figures in the future.

This part worries me abit though. Both shoulderpads are connected via a tab that rotates at the shoulder, and both of them have a stress mark where the tab flexes(within minutes of opening it mind you).

Anyone else see this on theirs? Or even on the on other Guyver figmas? Maybe it's normal.

Try to get a discount rather than paying the full-retard price GSC asked. It comes down to this franchise mostly being dead and knowing you really have no options other than this, and the older, more expensive and less-articulated max factory series. Those are also larger scale.

I don't have any complaints with the articulation, it seems better than standard figma-fair. The paint-job is plain, I would have preferred colors like pic-related instead. It will pose well and it's got decent accessories(minus an effect part which would have been ace). He's also really tall for a Figma, and will probably tower over most of your imports, which is cool.
>>
>>6459817
Are these only available from their website? I really want them but I'm in the UK and don't want to pay $35 per figure then a huge shipping fee then customs fees on top of that.

You're gonna be hard pressed to find it at retail, let alone less, you missed the window.

I thought like you. I figured a mostly dead franchise would shelfwarm and I'd be able to save a few thousand yen getting it cheaper. Boy was I wrong.

First week it was out, it sat, same with the second. Then for some reason a week or so later it literally vanished. Now places are charging 10k+ for him.

I literally found the last one in Akihabara the other day. I spent no less than 3 hours scouring the whole district for him. Couldn't find him, even for scalper prices. Finally found him in one of those often overlooked variety shops that mainly sells adult video.
>>
>>6485206
Just checked mine. I wouldn't call it "normal" but it's definitely a product wide issue.

Just don't stress them too much and it should be ok. It's rubber so it should react fine to being lightly bent occasionally.

>>

I wanted 1 and 2 but cared not for 2 since I grew up with the 90s anime but didn't watch the movie nor read the manga (though I aim to) it stands to reason that the buying trends reflect a similar mentality, but I figured Japanese fans would more be fans of the manga itself.

I'm wondering if the reason it sat and then suddenly vaporised was due to the influx of tourists since early August. Are France and/or China big fans if Guyver?
