Has anyone been to Hascon and want to share their experience? Is it as cancerous as SDCC? I'm 1.5 hours away from Rhode Island, I feel like if it is low key enough I could just go there and grab the figures, but $60 entry price is kinda steep and I have nobody to go to with. I also not sure what I truly want, presumably I'd want this guy but he'll be $20+$60, which at that point I can just commission a custom deadpool for about the same price. My last Mantis piece came in today. She's pretty good, Good sculpt, her hip articulation is a little limited because she's a BAF but otherwise she's got pretty standard female body articulation for a female ML. I'm pretty happy to say my GotG display is done for now.

They're not bad. The weightyness of the wings make them a little floppy. Idk if having the turbines would help with that or not. The end peices attach just via a snap joint on the top. They hold up well enough.

I want a Lizard for my Spiderman Yamaguchi. I believe it will fit well (I thought about the Select one, but the aesthetic of this BAF is more appealing).

That being said, I don't plan to collect the entire wave. Any way to get only Lizard?

Butterfly joints have been standard for Spider-Men for a while. There have been a few exceptions, like the body they debuted with Spider-UK not having them, or the Ultimate Spidey body, which I guess they deemed to small for them? But the USM body doesn't really suffer too much from it.

There aren't any Spider-Girls/Women with them, though. The idea of well articulated female figures apparently terrifies Hasbro.

I'm not a waifufag by any means, but the women in the Marvel Legends are always my weakness for some reason. I ended up buying Enchantress because I thought she looked interesting even if she didn't fit my collection. Just bought Dazzler and I can't wait to get Lady Thor. I think it's a bit because it's different, not the same few superheroes getting figures again and again. Doesn't hurt that imo figures of women look more aesthetic though.

Every ML at my Walmart was $9 today. They are pushing everything out. I scored Beetle for his BAF part and am pretty happy. It's everything. Homecoming wave, GotG Vol 2. Found a lone Loki at target in southern NH. I went to another one in the area and I only saw the Enchnatress/Executioner two pack.

Ideally for me, it wouldn't be super skrull, just a normal classic styled skrull with those accessories. Also alternate hands and a skrull gun are a must.

Maybe a tad less muscle definition and some more suit wrinkles so the sculpt looks like a body actually wearing spandex rather than just a naked body with painted on clothes, but that's really my wish for the line as a whole.

Eh, kind of not really? His articulation is a little sketchy QC wise, at least on mine stuff like the hips and ab crunch were too loose to properly hold up a figure of his size. I also wanted him to be able to pose manhandling my other movie legends, and he can't quite pull it off. IE, can't bend forward enough to punch shorter guys, can't balance to kick them, iirc he couldn't even hold the average legends by the arm.

An anon a few threads back asked about Mantis being able to headswap Mary Jane.

Unfortunately mantis uses a smaller ball than the most common current females as you can see, but Jessica Jones and Mary Jane are compatible. In fact they seem to use the same legs entirely, but a smaller bust for default JJ.

I haven't tested Mantis on a "teen" feale body yet, but I think that peg may be too small for her anyway.

They also seem to be compatible with the older bustier female buck that's used less lately (Rogue uses it too), but those heads are sculpted to be shallower so the newer heads sit low as well. What sort of clear coat do people use to seal the paint on their figures? Like for them to really stay on?

Yeah, I guess you're right. I wound up buying the Elektra because I gave in to impulse. Her arms are pathetically disproportional to her body and oddly shaped, but the heads look amazing. The face print is better than any of the Figuarts I've got, and the only knocks against them would be the mold lines. (the other face-printed figures I saw in the wild were all slightly "wrong").

It seems like every female figure compromises on articulation and accessories, maybe because they don't have faith in their sell-through rate (which is somewhat justified, given that Misty Knights and whoever that spider-girl with the big flowing hair was are still warming pegs), but for actual girls people want it's a problem.

It doesn't give me high hopes if they ever do get to Scream or a She-Venom or something I'd be more interested in on the character level.

They've said several times it's for looks. I don't know about marvel, but the hasbro star wars guys have straight up admitted it comes from licensor, so make of that what you will. IE, leia is one of the only toys in the black series line with double elbows, but only because she has cloth robe covering the hinges.

Personally, I think it's a stupid decision that misses the mark on who's actually buying these things. Pretty much every female legends being nearly a write-off in the articulation department is pretty frustrating.

Grabbed it last week sometime in the morning when they popped up on TRU for that short while. Was 120 shipped+tax. Basically you're paying retail for each figure but you don't get a BAF piece.

Heres a shitty photo of the gang. I really like them. I have no idea who the black girl is. Loki looks phenomenal, as does Singularity. The others are not bad either. She hulk is the most lackluster since she has no personality in her face at all. I really like the Elsa figure, as well.

That one, in my opinion. But I'm personally a huge fan of Ultimate Spider-Man so that does play into it.

Otherwise most people will tell you Pizza Spidey, which is getting a re-release sans alt hands in the near future, and a few stragglers will still argue for the old McFarlane Spidey.
