It was the minorest of nitpicks I could think of. I'm excited for him anyway so he can complete the set of 3 for me. Missed out on T30 back in the day, and I basically made assumptions ahead of time that he'd roll around again for PotP. The only thing I'm not entirely keen on is the apparent 4 month gap between wave 1 in December and wave 2 not till April. But if spacing them out means a better chance at stores stocking each wave well, I'll accept it.

Unfortunately that seems to be the case. The concept is awesome, the execution and corner cutting is what will kill it if Rodimus is any indication. And the deluxes are going to be CW tier with the voyagers able to be torsos so it is likely that something is going to be compromised in some manner.

These are the first official Transformers I've picked up since CW G2 Superion.

Chase: He's got a good headsculpt and I like that he retains the throttlebot signature mustache look. Other than that I'm not really impressed. Legends class ain't for me.

Sawback: The lion mode is OK and the other two are there. His actual face kind of sucks.

Black Shadow: He's great everything locks solidly and headmaster gimmick is unobtrusive. Would have liked wrist swivel and a panel to cover the gap in his arm. These stickers though the logos on the shoulders and tank are fine but the ones on the wings are peeling off at the ends.

Ideally stickers would go away but if they have to use them just give me a sheet so I can put them on myself.

Guys, this is literally the first new proper CHUG Prime mold since his original Classics version all the way back in 2006, pic very much related. All others released since then were either retools (CW Prime from Menasor, TR Powermaster / Ginrai from Ultra Magnus), pretools (TR Voyager Prime from Blitzwing) or side figures simply not consistent with the scale or aesthetics of regular figures (Legends, WfC and FoC, Cyber Battalions, etc).

In my opinion, it's about fucking time. I've spent more than a decade with the old Voyager being the only large Prime in my CHUG collection, let's hope Hasbro doesn't fuck this one up.

Roberts is not the artist of the books.
Nick Roche and Alex Milne are the artists who designed most of the Transformers from MTMTE.
They, especially Alex Milne, often draw model sheets demonstrating how the characters transform.
Taking a look at Springer or the 3P figures that faithfully recreate the characters should make this evident.
However, there have been more characters post-Dark Cybertron that do seem to be designed with no alt-mode in mind, but I'd say any of the Windblade books are guilty of impossible transformations more than any other post-Death of Optimus Prime book so far.

Most people just want a Toy that A) Combines B) Transforms C) Looks like the character they remember. the 150 option does all of that at 1/4 the cost, and in terms of devastator the hastak excels at C while most 3P offerings are just Green Giants made of construction truck robots, the only one that really looks like Devy is DX9 Hulkie.

Why spend $600 when I can get all the features I want for 1/4 the price when at the end of the day it's just going to set on a shelf making C again a much more important factor than one might originally consider.
