I'll probably be more excited when I pick up the remaining clones (didn't grab the box sets)

Their limb movement range is a bit limited, and they have slight balance issues, but they're alright

TMs have designated 'sit spots' on both
Wingspan's is undocumented in the instructions, but you can plainly see it in the middle of the bird's back, it's even got the little divot for the back of TM's feet

Not waste money on literal trash figures? I mean, there were probably actual good TF figures you could've put money to, but instead you bought Spearmint Face.
>>
>>6424520

The head in that photo is clearly rubber.
>>
>>6424520
I wanted Clouder, but no way am I getting rubber back.
>>
>>6424520
Can someone try and explain why they'd use rubber on certain figures? In some it made sense, in others it's just pointless.

-Skullcruncher has rubber teeth and that made sense, but then the hatch for the TM is also rubber for some reason.
-Mindwipe has a rubber head to prevent the delicate ears from breaking (would have preferred a less animalish head if it meant it wasn't made of rubber), but then the wing tips and the smaller wings are also rubber when the didn't need to be.
-Weirdwolf has rubber for no fucking reason since the teeth he has don't look sharp or pointy enough, and the cockpit hatch doesn't benefit at all from being rubber and you can't even make out the figure through the rubber.
-Don't have Kickback, someone fill me in on his issues and rubber usage
-All CW jets using rubber tips, then TR Megatron just having a solid plastic nosecone.
>>
>>6424550

For Skullcruncher, Mindwipe, and Weirdwolf, they probably shoved all the rubber bits on the same mold, rather than whatever mold they were doing the plastic on. So thats a casualty of cost cutting, really.

Kickback is really fucking weird, because nothing else is rubber, so they must've put the head for Kickback on some OTHER mold somewhere, probably.

CW Jet's probably have rubber nosecones because muh childrens, and because they probably only needed one mold to do it so they just threw them all on one mold and did'em en-mass.
>>
>>6424527
M-maybe it's just a prototype?

>>6424550
>Skullcruncher
Hatch would be hard to open if it wasn't rubber.
They could have designed it differently though.

>Mindwipe
I suspect the wing tips were actually designed to be in solid plastic, but then they realised that they wouldn't peg in properly as legs.
So instead of redesigning the whole thing they just changed it to rubber.

>>6424552
I could understand if the antennae were rubber, but yeah the whole head is ridiculous.
>>
>>6424550
They decided to cast Kickback head in a single piece of plastic, which means it's going to be rubber due to the antennas
>>
Not having a Kickback in hand, I have no idea if the antenna being cast in normal plastic would have led to breakage issue, they seem thick enough in the pics.

That being said, that mold has more issues than just rubber, with the toy having all the black being painted over clear yellow plastic, and the worst cockpit of any legends figure to the point it would have been better off to nix it.

The toy badly needed a redesign, and since its technically the second version I guess they saw only to just half the rear of the truck parts form, thus 2.5.

Only way to improve the look is a whole new mold and while all versions are lacking in deco the voyager is better hands down.

And here I am retarded enough to pre-order caliber prime WHILE painting the voyager to look like it, I'm doomed to forever part with money

>without omegalock

I just want him for a planet diorama so his planet shell has to be complete (ass flap, toes) but am aware the omega lock isn't necessary.

My country won't stock the redeco sadly, so what is a good price range, no point ripping my wallet apart for an old unboxed figure right?

$85usd with the lock and $50usd without the omega lock, right?

Don't give a shit about little keys or missiles either, nor the unicron head thingie

Speaking about the planetbots, are these two worth 1.000 USD on a combined lot? One one hand they both easily look like the best versions of Primus and Unicron around, but on the other hand it feels like an absolute middle finger considering how the original Armada / Cybertron versions of each of these figures cost maybe 50 USD each on a mildly decent loose state.

Are they worth the investment or should I just go with Cybertron Primus and maybe look for the 30th movie anniversary Hasbro re-release of Unicron instead?
>>
>>6424712
And I thought anon was buying the hasbro version to try to save money to later buy the other one ie buying both?

Maybe I read it wrong but I'm just confused.

>>6424716
What contempt, I'd be fine if he was just buying the hasbro one...on its own (hay someone might like the deco and fact it doesn't parts form, it'll be easier to store loose because lack of chrome too).
>>
>>6424725
I don't think they are worth that much but if you're getting those versions specifically it'll be that much.
>>
Anyone waiting it out to see if they make a new version of Unicron and Primus? I think they could do a better job.
>>
>>6424725
Considering you can buy either from mandarake for around 25,000yen each convert that (second hand mind you but japanese collectors are careful collectors) and see how you go.

I like their deco's the best but price wise no thanks, the platinum unicron is supposedly getting a reissue this month or the next but as for primus for the best price hunt around ebay
>>
>>6424734
>unicron
Possible, when though is a big question considering the last titan vote had 3 choices, we could get omega or scorponok before another, larger unicron figure.

As for primus...up in limbo, it would make the most sense to have him as the titan for the new generations based line there is little to back him up other than the old marvel comics and armada which isn't talked about much these days and that redeco ain't doing him favors.

But hay, anything is possible, Im personally fine with the current 2 but would gladly sell both for a unicron that makes gen metroplex look like a manlet
>>
>>6424734
I think the only thing they can do is to bump up the sizes to titan class.

For a time they were amazing, $150aud for mp delta magnus shipped, but little by little things kept fucking up, the first signs were when mp ramjet came to play, many didn't receive theirs although apparently one guy got his 2 weeks ago, many got refunds.

But as time went on their emails went unanswered, they claimed they had a new "team" to address that, not only are they only selectively answering questions but what was supposed to be a backlog became an eternity, and when they do answer they just say "insert item here is to to arrive at insert begining/end of month here" with a generic "sorry about the service we're clogged up" header.

I want to be one of those lucky people who got their lg ginrai's at the least

>>6424929
I hear you bud, you should of been more careful for next time, examine shit carefully.

Last time I bought something on ebay I had to send it to a friend to hold it for me, I made him pop the item open an examine it, he ain't no expert but clear instructions meant timely inspections.

So far only guy who screwed me over on ebay simply claimed he went the item (mp ironhide) to the wrong address and stopped answering emails, then paypal sent me a random chargeback saying he didn't even have a paypal account.

So in short, examine carefully and even look back at listings, I'm primus anon and let me tell ya this level of prep to find an intact primus at a good price and then to inspect the thing when it arrives(transformations and all, with or without the key) makes me feel autistic.

...of course said autism lead me to transform mp36, fffffffuuuuuuuuck man

We tried for a group action with ours, they basically said try asking the police.

Some of the luckier ones have gotten charge backs, others just left angry reviews on numerous sites, and even quit collecting.

They have the Australian tf community split, the private fb group sings nothing but praise and anyone mouthing off gets silenced, where's the public web forum and most of its members are the ones trying to take action.

If they send my primal any time soon I might forgive them

It's not the color scheme. It's the headsculpt itself that's disgusting. Takara's is 100% better.

>We tried for a group action with ours, they basically said try asking the police.

Try with them again, and if they say the same, fuck it, take legal action. It may sound dumb, but when cops and lawyers get involved, that tends to either expose the scams (if they're scamming) or get fires lit under their asses.

Then again, thats how it works in the US. Since you sound like you're from Australia, for all I know they'll just laugh at you and all you'll be able to do is chuck syphillitic drop bears into their home compound out in the boonies.

Someone apparently asked a cop and was given the run around.

You've given me an idea that was once laughed at actually, maybe we can refer them to one of those shows where reports chase people around demanding money.

Ack, its annoying as fuck, some people got knocked back from chargebacks because they would receive 3 month late replies to emails ruining the process, in my case the bank isn't even communicating with me, maybe because I'm chasing up something so old despite an official letter saying the case began sent 3 days after my call.

Doesn't help I'm talking to someone in an indian call center where's other banks have email access for this sorta thing where I can just forward documents online and be done with it, Australia's biggest banks are behind the ball at times.

Speaking of shady sellers there's a bunch of JUST LAUNCHED Amazon accounts selling shit at well below MSRP. They're all being generated by a scam artist who might also be into credit card fraud.

Amazon took down the Ramhorn listing after enough people complained, it was being posted at $5.64 dollars for the Titan Master but all 5 or 6 listings were entirely fraudulent sellers.

The Amazon Chaos on Velocitron has had shady listings there as well and a bunch of people fell for the In Stock listing when all the people who were selling it were the same shady accounts.

I do love that mold, but it kind of highlights a lot of my issues with older Generations releases. People always say that they used to be "more complex", and I guess that's true to a point, but as much as I love Sgt. Kup, his bot mode just has a ton of shit hanging off of it that gets in the way. Yeah, he has more articulation and ankle tilts and whatnot, but... he's kibble city. Newer toys are more simplistic, but they are also way more creative about having a fun, clever transformation that keeps kibble to an absolute minimum.

I found the Megatron version looked better if you reduced the legs a bit. Instead of locking the knee, leave it at the back touching the back of the leg.

>Newer toys are more simplistic, but they are also way more creative about having a fun, clever transformation that keeps kibble to an absolute minimum.
And I think in a lot of cases that works to its detriment since being so simplistic highlights the obvious flaws. A lack of paint or elbows that don't go the right fucking way are way less harmful to detailed molds than they are the really simplistic box-bodied ones we have now.

>>
>>6425946
It's pretty nice, a definite step up over the Leader but he could have been better (with arm swivels his sword poses would have been amazing, and a thicker shield with the gun that's missing)

Evasion Prime's still better, but that guy was ridiculously good for a voyager.
>>
>>6425950
It pisses me off to an unreasonable degree when they don't give sword guys wrist swivels, it's such a necessary bit of articulation. I'd also like to see them able to tilt their wrists down but that never happens, even expensive figures just mold the sword hand at a slight angle and maybe have some wiggle if it's ball jointed wrists.
>>
>>6425958
It's a problem for gun-users too, like Generations Voyager Roadbuster, that figure could have been awesome if he was made proper, but the turnout was an absolute disaster that doesn't even work the way it was meant to.
>>
>>6425958
It happens sometimes. WFC Prime for example. It had the tilt joint for transformation, and a swivel just because the designers back then had souls.

Skullcruncher has it too. Forearm swivel in addition to upper arm swivel gives him pseudo wrist swivels.
>>
>>6424928
What's really crazy is that they still have people wondering if they should place more preorders with them. I just don't get it.
>>
>>6425976
Skullcrunchers needs them to get a convincing beast mode, though. WFC Prime didn't.
>>
Serious question. Aside from Grimlock's filed down teeth and platinum Soundwave's clear plastic, in what way are the hasbro MPs lower quality than the takara versions?
>>
>>6426010

Sometimes they're looser because they didn't think the molds needed fixing beforehand. Sometimes they fix problems the Japanese releases had though. It's really a crap shoot, the only way to know is to see when it comes out.

tl;dr Wait on it. Especially if it's another release of Optimus. He's gotten a bajillion releases. Shit, BBTS STILL has Hasbro Optimus' from the last time they released him.
>>
>>6425962
Oh, absolutely, wrist swivels really should be considered part of the minimum requirements for articulation, but it especially effects sword users. I love Voyager TLK Optimus despite the locked feet and knee-range-limiting moon boots, but the lack of wrist swivels is just a punch in the dick.

Oops, forgot the pic. And yeah, the legs are mistransformed, I like the proportions more this way.

Anyway, does anyone know if the back of the seat gun is meant to connect to anything? It has 2 notches and a peg so I don't know what that's for.

Jazz and Shockwave both got repaints with much better weapons. Comes down to if you're getting them for the character or for fun.

Bee is from WFC which just means it's a better value for a deluxe.

That bumblebee is horrible. The vehicle panels are difficult to line up.

Safe bets.

One of the more outlandish rumours, doesn't line up with previous rumours that Dealer would be in the Voyager waves. Seems like a waste of a leader slot

That color scheme really more applied to the older hasbro mp's, specifically thundercracker (toy deco tampos) sunstorm (rinald mc donald) and acidstorm (which takara eventually pumped out as well just with a sticker designating him as mp11-A).

Newer ones are close to takara ones but not quite (lighter face colors on prowl, warning tampos on starscream and smokescreen).

Oh and more chance of the paint being real sloppy or signs of mold degredation (my smokescreen and starscream are proof of this as I have all prior hasbro mp's).

...thankfully I bought all my hasbro mp's for cheaper prices than second hand takara mp's are for brand new but trying to find good specimens was difficult, and by good as in doesn't look like a 12yr painted it and super glued it together because they've become progressively worse over the years, I worry for hasbro mp10 owners

>>
>>6426411
Supposedly it was a whole new mold but the engineering is essentially an mp03 2.0 mold, looks great from the front of the bot mode and top of the jet its far from perfect.

>rear winglets could fold it in reduce robot kibble
>could add in a faceplate gimmick like other mp's especially to capture the seeker's personalities
>better tabbing
>more articulation

A new seeker mold could be amazing if they done it now but alas seeker collectors such as myself are too burnt out to chase up another set.

BTW anon if you find said accessories PLEASE post brand names, I had the same idea but have no idea what brand/scale the chefs had and apron would be.

Wouldn't use the jelly hamburgers though, greasy little shits, though a mock wrapping paper on its hands would work for both protection and for prop purposes

None apart from Primus and Unicron. Metroplex, Trypticon, Fortress Maximus and Scorponok (under protest) and Omega Supreme (also under protest, I guess).

This is coming from a g1 fanboy so take this sas it comes.

...it takes the characters you grew up with, even some you may of only knew as toys, and gives them lives, lives that would fit our modern first world society, what does that mean?

>trans genders
>same sex couples
>politics
>MUH GRILL POWER

The action stuff is amazing but a fair bit of it needs to be ignored, this ain't the g1 I grew up with as a kid with a campy feel this is something with bite for the fedora lovers.

There is only one reason why I don't hate it entirely, its because starscream is the mother fucking ruler of cybertron and not because of conquest but because it was handed to him, leaving him stuck between doing good and doing as he wants.

The moments he does good leaves me mixed but when he just does as one expects him to do brings tears to my eyes, even better when he's making a gay relationship work in a horrible sly way he does best (no he ain't in it, he just manipulated events to his favor).

All hail starscream
