Thomas's sides are not blue!
Flying Scotsman or Mallard?
For me it was the Mallard, the lovely blue on that sleek body really makes me feel good. I like the futuristic design but with a steam engine at it's core. My favourite train.
Man, what happened to them? They use to have some pretty cool trains.
I only have one BRIO product and that's Theodore Tugboat himself. I remember wanting to collect all five tugs. And now I wanna collect the Thomas line too, which is expensive af
Damn anon, thanks for taking me way back

Knockoffs sucking up shelf space in toy stores. My extended family has a largeish collection of tracks and trains that get passed to the next child in the clan. Some pieces break, others get added. This has been going on for decades. The stuff I inherited as a wee toddler now belong to my younger cousin's kids.
Does anyone make micro brio? I'd be all over it if they did.
>>6432093
No, why would you want that?
The idea would be silly because kids could swallow the parts.
There are obviously model railway stuff but that's much more detailed.
I know there are companies that make semi model railway stuff that are simply the trains with stands or with some moving parts like the wheels instead of the engines/motors of the real things.
I have a few lying around that I've picked up from places.

Brio still has some great shit now
>a monorail
>a subway
>road tracks
This stuff was great.
I loved to play with it.
So simple, yet so effiencient
Why is Brio so comfy?
>>6444235
So comfy.
Does anyone here collect these? Id like to see
why is it so expensive
Man, this thread is bringing back all sorts of memories. I've actually still got my old trains in storage in case I ever get the chance to pass it on to someone someday.
>>6454091
Or if you feel like getting it out, setting it all up and playing with it I bet!
(I too have kept mine for that reason though)
I don't think the Brio road system had come out when I was little but I did have plastic roads that were about similar in concept to the railway stuff. I loved setting that up to go underneath the bridges and to the station. I also collected alot of Brio type vehicles to go on the roads- the dumper truck was cool, diggers and construction vehicles were even better. I also found wooden miniature figures to populate the town.
Another reason I can't get rid of them is because when I do, I remember playing with them but can't bear to part with them.
(For the same reason I've got all my Castle and Knight miniatures still)
>>6454173
the road system didn't come out until 2010
why the fuck didn't they have it when i was a kid?
doesn't stop me from buying it right now but still
I miss this little guy.
>>6463893
That explains it then. I ended up looking at a collectors site and some of the catologue pages and there's some really cool stuff I would have liked as a kid.
Part of me wishes I could get it, but I know I can't because I'm an adult and there's no way I can justify it to anyone.

No one has to know, anon.
aW shIt, did sOme MothERFucker just Say BRIO THREAD?!
>>6464045

Because I'm no longer at risk from swallowing my toys and regular brio requires too much space

Loved it, maybe the comfiest toy ever made.
>>6474637
1995-1998 is fucking comfy
>>6424595
Thought that was a gold Thomas when I first saw it. I thought surely they can't leave the entire side not painted blue, but nope, that's exactly what they're doing. Fucking hell, Mattel.
>>6492787
Next thing you know, Mattel is going to turn Trackmaster into pic related.
>>6424595
This is fake by the way. Unfortunately, what we're actually getting is hardly better.
>>6496007
>Ryan now how his own tooling instead of reusing thomas'
>Ashima has more detail than the 2016 version
>new livery Rosie
>Decent (at least from the quality of the picture) bulstrode, harvey and s.c.ruffy
>Thomas' wheel arch finally goes over his front wheel again
however
>big tender engines like Gordon and spencer only have 6 wheels
>that shitty winston
>that obamination Stephen
>Stanley's black smokebox
>the tenders in general
>new incompatible track
>no Edward, Henry or Toby
>overall lack of variety in characters
>no good reintroductions or new characters
(Rex, Donald, Douglas, Rex, slip coaches, Judy & Jerome, frank)
>the fact that all available information and pictures on Thomas wood haven't even been released by Mattel and have all been leaked or told by a 3rd party, who have said these come out in November
Well, I may buy 1 or 2 of these, but besides that, I guess im gonna start buying more Bachmann and Hornby trains.
>>6497582
>overall lack of variety in characters
Can't have more than one train of the same color, or normies won't buy them.
>Billy, you already have the green one
>>6496007
They all look like they have paint chipping off of them.
>>6431937
No chillens of your ownses? Sucks Anon I love getting the cool new toys for my daughter and playing with her. As an adult still fascinated and intrigued by the cool new toys of today ur really missing out on something special
>>6465446
Im 23 a male and a father(thank God) and I get to play with Legos collect Shopkins/Pokemon crap because of my kid. And she plays with me( I mostly just build stuff I don't really know how to play anymore)
>>6501898
That's deliberate. It's meant to make them look "premium".
Remember these?
