That fish has a really nice headsculpt considering how old that toy is.
>>
>>6411465
Most of the old monsters had really nice sculpts. Bandai's always done much better with the monsters than the Rangers themselves.
>>
Where can I get the Metallic MMPR figures online? Have they appeared on US retail?
I can't find them on Amazon.
>>
So are figuarts just done with power rangers?
>>
Picked up the Imaginext Dragonzord today. I was surprised to find it for thirty bucks. It's pretty cool aside from taking 8 batteries.
>>
>>6411988
Probably. If the movie did better, it'd probably have revived it, sadly its not to be. I expect Bandai USA/Bluefin will push for more MMPR stuff, so we might get altered color reissues of the old set, or even renewals, but thats it.
>>
>>6412067
Is it on sale anywhere? Its usually 60 bucks which costs too much.
>>
>>6412069
So we're just stuck with the shitty 7" Legacy figures instead? Bummer

Any chance of a Legacy Green/White Ranger Morpher reissue?

I remember the original Morpher got it like 3 times. Also, I just recently got the Dragon Dagger and Dragonzord from Toy'R'Us Canada.
>>

All the Wal-Marts around here have it for 30.
>>

Don't think they're out yet. Haven't seen any of them in store around here.

You know, for all the endless Toku shit they put out you'd think they'd throw us a bone and do Zeo, or Space. I don't think that's as tall and order as, say, unmorphed American team Jason, Tommy, Kimberly etc
>>
>>6413727
Ohranger is fucking dead to japs and they prefer to exclusively cater to their own market. If we have Star Wars figuarts at all is because they love Star Wars.
>>
>>6413727
by all reason, this would be smart. But Bandai Japan is bullheaded, and sycophants claim that the US market wouldn't support the line(even though the secondary market for Power rangers figuarts is insane.)

>TFW no figuarts gold ranger
>>
There are around 20 MMPR Red Rangers nowadays, they released a sculpt almost every year since 2007 (when Once A Ranger happened), sometimes several within a year. Especially nowadays, they went totally overboard.
How many different sculpts ARE there of him, however? Many times, they were just re-releases (at least around 2007, not to sure about nowadays, also with the MMPR reboot in 2010).
And which one of them is even the best? I suppose Figuarts, but besides that. Many seem to have the six-pack chests as well, but the ones released around Jungle Fury and RPM in 2009 (Super Legends) were still fine in that regards. It also produced the only good Lord Zedd figure, if I remember correctly.
>>
>>6414899
There was no Red Ranger Super Legends. And I actually like the 5 inch Zedd better than the Super Legends. He has better paint, better articulation, a more accurate staff, and a more accurate sculpt overall. My only complaint about him is the way they did his knee articulation, not because of functionality, but because it fucks up the accuracy of the sculpt in that area.
>>
I'm thinking about getting the Megazord and Dragonzord Mini-Pla Megazord since I'd love a 6 inch transformable megazord..

however I've got HAM hands and i've never had a model kit. How difficult are they to build? I have trouble even putting god damn stickers on toys.

>>
>>6418895
Dude relax. You'll find them. I've been able to find every other Legacy Ranger at retail in store. You'll be fine. They've started showing up at Targets. Mine happened to restock Wave 3 a week or 2 ago so I still have plenty of MMPR yellows and Whites floating around. Grabbed my white during the first stock. He was the last one so I felt like a winner. Still nice to know I would've had a second chance to get him. I'm expecting the metallic rangers to be out after the current stock clears pegs.
>>
>>6419508
>Dude relax.

His post didn't indicate anything angry or agitated. You come off like a cop looking to beat someone up with a dumb excuse to justify it.
>>
>>6419523
It sounds like that same guy who asked earlier in the thread. And even if it isn't, he could read six posts up to figure out the answer to his question.

Why did you even feel the need to respond to that? Don't be so easily triggered homie.
>>
>>6419523
People in this fandom have a tendency to panic prematurely for no reason. The metallic Legacy figures are BARELY released and there are already people (not necessarily the poster he was replying to) getting their panties in a bunch.

Like, I guarantee this will happen within the next month--someone on the West Coast will find a Rita Then and Now pack and post about it. The next day there will be someone in Clarksburg, West Virginia bitching that they can't find Rita anywhere and they've checked all the Walmarts in a fifty-mile radius even though she's supposed to be out by now. This shit takes time. Patience is a virtue.
>>
>>6419523
His post actually had useful info and didn't come off as angry or anything. Why is this fandom so sensitive?
>>
>>6419508
>>6419592
Sorry. I want trying to come off panicy. I was just wondering because i hadn't seen them.
>>
>>6420185
No worries broski, just be patient, they'll turn up. Like I said, I haven't had any issue finding any wave of these guys. Even Wave 1 where MMPR Red goes for stupid expensive aftermarket for some reason. I don't think the demand for these are as high as say, Marvel Legends. So just check your local stores at least once a week and you'll get them.
>>
>>6413714
Is the case assortment just those two? I haven't seen In Space Blue, Black and Pink at all but I saw a bunch of MMPR White and Yellow the past week.
>>
Finally some sense that the remaining Then & Now packs are coming. Alpha is just the 2010 figure, which was to be expected after the 4 inch Loogie. He was over-sized so he's not terribly out of scale, but I hate how stylized he is and wish he could have gotten a new figure. The OG Putty isn't shown, so maybe there's hope of a proper 5 inch figure.
>>
>>6420597
>that new movie putty
I haven't bought any of the new movie shit, but I almost want that for how fucking hilarious it looks.
>>
Another weekend of no metallic rangers in my area. I'm surprised I've seen so many white rangers peg warming.
>>
>>6421887
He's packed more heavily. Though it doesn't say much for the line's future when White Rangers aren't flying off shelves. That should be a gateway figure for many.
>>
So has there been any info about a legacy shogun megazord yet?
>>
>>6422955
If any news was to be made, it'd be at SDCC.

Just sending along a reminder for those stateside that as long as summer is going on, it is still garage sale season, and it is always worth going out looking. Sometimes you won't find shit, but sometimes you find pure fucking gold.

I picked this up Sunday at a sale, Legacy Dragon Dagger, no scratches or bent parts, all sounds work perfectly, heavy as fuck, all for $17. I don't know how I kept a straight face from the minute I saw it until I was in the car and gone, trying not to tip the fucker off and end up getting charged more.

Always, ALWAYS check your garage sales, you never know what you might find.
>>
>>6426174

The only people who have garage sales anymore are old fucks who don't know how to use the internet. That said, good find anon. My city hasn't had a good garage sale since 2000.

Actually, you'd be surprised how much the internet has expanded garage sales. I use craigslist to go looking for them locally in upstate NY, and I find a lot of neat stuff where people take photos and put them up in the listings. Church sales do it too, and you can sometimes find good stuff at those if you get there early.
This is also a good way to make some side-cash; I picked up a Supertrain Megazord for $10 at a sale once and flipped it on eBay for $60 even undercutting the prices at the time. More recently I've been working my way through this box of stuff that I got in several installments from various sales since summer began, partly by looking up the garage sales online and finding any that had interesting photos.
So those Minipla Daizyuzin an Dragon Ceasar things... the Gouryujin combination really has me wanting to get both. Are they going to be like those candy toy model kits though? I tried those once and christ they did not go well.

>>6426339
Yep, they are candy toy model kits. The Super Minipla line is somewhat higher quality than your average candy toy kit though, they have decent color separation and more complex engineering. Really, in my opinion most of them could qualify as full retail kits if they were just cast in better quality plastic. In this pic the Super Minipla Daizyujin is on the left, SRC on the right.

Anyway, if your last attempt didn't go well because the kit was shit quality, I can assure you these are nicer. If it went poorly because you have no modeling skills, get in the Gunpla general, read the sticky, and practice on a cheapo kit before tackling Dai/Caesar.
>>
>>6426346
It was Diesel-Oh. It didn't get finished because I kept messing up the paint and trying to be overly meticulous, ended up throwing it out when I was at low point because it was never going to get finished.

Doesn't help I was using Testors enamel paints, which I've since resolved to never use ever again.
>>
>>6426351
Don't bother painting then. Like I said, the color separation is decent already, and stickers are included. If anything, MAYBE panel line and topcoat if you want it to look a little nicer.

Just go slow, read the guide in the Gunpla thread, trim your nubs appropriately. You'll have a better time I think.
>>
>>6426361
I've since gotten better at painting thanks to ventures with Shapeways and Transformers, but my main reason for going with paint in the first place was I REALLY hated how Diesel-Oh, and the sentai candy toys in general, have decals meant for entire areas that aren't flat surfaces.

the plastic quality is tougher than your average minipla, so it wouldn't break that easily

though you need to paint it to make it better looking, the provided sticker is not enough to make him screen accurate and it wouldn't stick long enough.
>>
Why is there so much Legacy MMPR Yellow and White now? Did they do a revision case of entirely just those two? I sorta want MMPR Green and Red, but of course those have disappeared and fetch insane prices in after market atm.
>>
>>6429868
Some dumbfuck at Bandai decided offering Wave 3 in 2 separate orders was a great way to avoid shelfwarmers. So now most stores only ordered the cases with White/Yellow and hardly any Space Blue/Black/Pink.

Not even joking, lots of people have confirmed that Target and Wal-Mart were ordering MMPR sets only.

Legacy Dino Thunder White, In Space Silver, and Psycho Rangers in 2018. Silver and 4 of the Psychos will have an Alpha 5 build a figure. They also get weapons. Psycho Pink will get the Savage Sword instead of a build a figure part.

Legacy Zeonizer and Golden Power Staff. No Shogun Megazord. Large scale non-transforming Dinozords with 2 inch Rangers.

The only figures that sell from this line are the MMPRs, which they've exhausted, and Red Rangers. If the other Space Rangers were shipping en masse they'd be sitting around big time. Face it--there just aren't that many of us who care about anything besides muh 1993 childhood nostalgia.

>>
>>6432074
I think the price point is to blame, which is the same reason the figuarts line failed. Even at half the price of figuarts we're talking $120 for a team of six. I think people would be much more willing to buy full teams of basic 5 inch figures at $10 a piece. Or if they could do team sets like the current series gets, 6 figures for $50, I think those would be very popular. They really should have attempted to put out a series of 5 inch Alien or Zeo Rangers and saw how well those sold before rebooting the line at a larger scale and higher price point.

If the line was doing so well they wouldn't be dividing cases so that retailers can only order the MMPRs, and they wouldn't be packing an MMPR build-a-figure with In Space figures. Dark Specter would have been the no-brainer build a figure for the Psychos, but the line is clearly in trouble, and they're resorting to MMPR pandering to try and save it. That's if the line can even survive past the Zeo/Dino Thunder waves, which will be the first waves with no MMPR figures.

>why didn't they make more of the ones people want?
Right? Bandai just fucked up royally when it came to handling the Sentai Figuarts.

They refused to finish teams, they focused too much on the newer sentai series no one gave a shit about, and then they tried pandering to the wrong fucking generations with Sun Vulcan and Gorenger.
>>
>>6432886
The issue with Sentai Figuarts was the new teams being exclusives in a time where they were harder to get, and Bluefin being unable to deal in Sentai exclusives when a majority of the characters were exclusive.

So a line that would have been supported by US fans ended up getting very little US support because the only thing most of us could get was Red, MMPR, some of Ninja Storm, and Operation fucking Overdrive.

Expensive twopacks didn't help either.
>>
>>6432911
>and Bluefin being unable to deal in Sentai exclusives when a majority of the characters were exclusive.
What? That's not true. The majority of the Zyuranger's were web exclusive in japan and they all got mass retail releases here.
>>
>>6432790
The nips were stubborn about catering to US demand. Bluefin tried to get them on board with Zeo or Space to no avail. They wouldn't even milk the MMPR cow some more and put out Zedd. It's like they were opposed to making money.

>>6432160

How incredibly odd that you would mention Clarksburg like that when I live there and collect Power Ranger items.

Though, technically, you would be speaking about Bridgeport since that's where the shops are located. I never bitch about not finding items though, we may get them later but it's such a small collector town that i typically find everything I'm looking for at retail over time, the only exception being some Legacy items that the TRU hasn't carried like the helmet.
>>
>>6438629
I'm right outside your window.

Nah, actually I listen to a lot of Jim Cornette podcasts and he frequently mentions Clarksburg, West Virginia since it was a stop on the Smoky Mountain Wrestling loop. For some reason it sticks in my head as an example of a small town. I've never been there, but I guess if you're in reasonable driving distance of a TRU it must not be so bad.

Call me a nitpicky fucker, but I canceled my Dragon Caesar preorder cause of the bad headsculpt. Its eyes should be way bigger and chin a tad slimmer, but most glaringly, its teeth should be hidden completely when it closes its mouth. I'm not sure why they sculpted them so large and prominent and constantly showing. It just looks wrong to me.
>>
>>6442407
I also dislike that headsculpt.

>I'm not sure why they sculpted them so large and prominent and constantly showing. It just looks wrong to me.

Because the thing is too tiny and just a "cheap" minipla. Same reason the tyrannosaurus has fake teeth.
>>
>>6442413
I see what you're saying, but I think they could have managed a better solution seeing as the head is so prominent to this design, unlike the T-Rex which is just a part of a combiner. And intricate molding is more than possible for them, I've seen some pretty small/delicate parts in the Super Minipla kits I've built thus far.
>>
>>6442370
Even still, a 1 inch difference is huge when it comes to scale. I'm thinking maybe the 8 inch monsters were undersized. Would be nice to see a side by side.

Got my legacy power sword today. Flimsy soft plastic with a solid rod in the blade center. Only metal is the tiny coin. All the weight is in the handle, it feels weird and the sound button placement sucks, as well as the sounds themselves. I guess they made it softer so people woudln't break them if they hit shit, but if it was good enough for the Dagger and for Saba (still the best of all the weapons overall IMO), why not this, especially at that price.

>>
>>6463447
I think it looks pretty good with just the stickers too, if one's paint skills are not up to par.
>>
>>6463457
I don't know why people treat painting like it's some grand skill. 80% of it is choosing the right paint (acrylic in this case), and the other 20% is patience (doing multiple light coats instead of trying to glob it all on at once). That's literally all there is to it. Because these are completely unassembled they couldn't be easier to paint.
>>
>>6463842
Choosing the right colour is quite difficult. Detail work is difficult. Making enough of the colour you need so it doesn't dry out before you're done and you need to try to make more (only to find out you can't get it exactly the same). Painting is fine, painting well is not easy. At least that's my opinion.
>>
>>6463880
Why would you make a color rather than just buying the color you need?

Supposedly the Ninja Steel waves that were supposed to be out by now were delayed to ship out more Movie stuff in the first half of the year. I guess since they share shelf space in most stores all the movie toys are preventing stores from getting new Ninja Steel waves.
>>
>>6478677
That might be it. You guys at least got more than just the first wave of rangers so far, up in Canada we haven't gotten any of the villains yet.

Yeah, let's just wait for the Figua--oh wait.

Gold Ranger was always to be a fall wave item, which is stupid since he debuted on the show in the middle of March. This isn't new either, Super Megaforce Silver made his show debut in April, and his toys were fall wave. Same goes for Samurai Gold. It's a shame they've backpedaled because the Dino Charge stuff lined up fairly well with the show debuts.

They'll show up eventually.

They're not gonna send something besides what's in the pic right?
>>
>>6480371
size and upc match the item at TRU, worth the risk for the price, if they send you something like the movie sword it can always be returned

Ordered one just to test things out, thanks bro.

but then I wasted money in shipping!

Pretty sure they refund you the shipping.

That's unfortunate I got one in at least.

Its up again if anyone needs it.

So the Dino Charge toyline was great. Why is the Ninja Steel toyline such a mess?
>>
>>6480424
There's no option at all as of last night for me. Maybe they just removed the buying option?

DAMMIT. Wish I had seen this sooner, just to see if it went through.

you're totally right, the Figuarts are much superior, nobody should have ever made an attempt to make the figures after the figuarts.
>>
>>6481216
I wouldn't be so salty if they were still making figuarts but instead all we have is an incomplete line of good figures and no better alternatives
>>
They shipped my power sword this morning. I didn't want to order more than 1 and risk it like that but it seems to be the actual item 5 pounds of Jasons dong.

>>6481318

>"Please note this item ships in its original packaging and cannot be gift-wrapped or concealed."

Ah, so the mail carrier & everyone else will know you'll be getting the Power Sword, and possibly "steal it" saying its lost. And/or you'll get a bunch of mailing labels & stickers on the box, ruining it (for those who like pristine packaging).

Holy fuck where can I find this hotness

>>6438252
I went to Toys R Us to buy my a gift for my niece and I saw they were selling the motherfucking Thunder MegaZord from my youth and of course I bought it

A week later I went to a different Toys R Us to get like a little red ranger toy to decorate my office and fuck they had the Power Sword so of course I bought it. Blade tip is kinda bent though but whatever
I feel like I am at a slippery slope
>>
>>6482178
Don't worry, eventually you run out of things to buy
>>
>>6482179
I mean I only like the original MMPR stuff so hopefully it won't ruin me too much
I'll see if I can make another toys r us run this weekend, see what new hotness I can find
>>
What's the deal with the SDCC SH Armor Black Ranger? He's pretty cheap compared to the other's in the line. Is he just really common or is something wrong with him?

It's enormous and heavy as fuck and I love it because it reminds me of my dick
My one problem is that entirely unlike my dick, the very tip is slightly bent, as if something heavy had been placed on top of it for an extended period of time and that part again reminds me of my dick
>>
>>6483691
Sucks your sword got flacid, maybe you can heat it up and adjust it at least.

My only concern about the sword is I might not be able to lug it around a con due to its size and the blade being made of foam.
