This looks so badass. How people pass up galaxxor and shit talk it constantly is baffling to me. The only way this could be any cooler is if there were actually other vinyl items still getting made to go build crazy with this guy. Armodocs and Rigs, Bani Tanks and Titan mushis, Giant Callgrims and warp bikes, Blocks and Wedges.. yeesh they would all kickass in this color scheme.

>>6410823
Well...truth be told, I'm not that into vinyl cause there are fewer building options and it's expensive to build up a stable of parts. I also don't like that Galaxxor's legs are molded in place, and think his slightly bent knees stance looks kind of awkward and weird.

Seeing this pic of the resin prototypes made me realize something though--that if Galaxxor was the same size as Travelers and split into a larger number of pieces (like at least as many as a Traveler), I think I would be a big fan. I like the shape, it's just the lack of true modularity and the fact that it's vinyl that are keeping me away.

Yeah I know, but I feel like I lack the imagination for that too. I can barely make interesting Glyos builds, vinyl feels like hard mode. Anyway, ultimately it's always gonna come down to the cost for me. I own like two vinyl pieces, most of the time I just can't force myself to buy vinyl when I think that it could be 2-3 normal figures instead.

Really it's easier to do more interesting things because fewer pieces=fewer combinations=any variation will be a big one. I love the vinyl because it's easy to make crazy awesome things, plus you can stuff shit where ever you want and make extra cuts to really mess with it if you so choose.

I mean, the color scheme is cool but that sculpt literally does nothing for me. It just looks...boring. I mean sure I could put those arms on another vinyl figure I guess, but that's pretty much it. It's a 4 poa nearly-statue that I can't even pretend to think is worth the money.
>>
>>6411069
Nah man, I wish I had more vinyl on me to show you the potential this thing has. The legs are the hardest bit to work with and even then they are super useful- they are a Y connector piece, can easily be used to make spider like mechs, 2 headed monsters, a ribcage like chasis for a massive vinyl build(think exoskeleton for another vinyl creature like the Supercray, Armodoc, TitanMushi or even jumbo Grim) not to mention the neat kind of stuff you could do just by connecting a bunch of legs to eachother in a tree root kind of way, you could create some kind of spindly structure or containment cell.

The heads are all extremely useful- the Horned head is one of the only distinct faces in all of the vinyl, boom, anything you put it on is a character. The dome head is the exact opposite, it's perfect to greeble other large vinyl builds with something other than switch pins. It pairs best with a block but can also go well with rigs, banitanks, wedges. The new "missle" head is great, has a ton of character and can also sub in for missle or gun tips on any build. A vinyl jetpack, tip of a cannon or gun, or my favorite use for it- cannon hands. It's basically just like the head/hand combos from Weaponeers of Monkaa but as a vinyl piece.

The arms are arms, clean looking and can go on literally anything. Super useful no explanation needed.

The body is the real MVP, a clean small vinyl part with 4 ports is infinitely useful. It can be the central body to nearly any build or it can be gauntlets or shin pieces with ease.

Use your imagination man.
>>
>>6411158
Hmm, I think the inability to do this kind of thinking is what keeps me from being a good builder. I tend to think kind of like >>6411069, I just can't see the potential of the parts
>>
>>6410927
I copied this build.
>>
so everyone seems split between delphi and villser soldier as the big reveal. no sense thinking its vinyl because onell design doesnt want to run those very often due to cost/slow sales/whatever. not familiar with the true reason

if its villser than probably that addon kit of a head and some other minor things to match up with argenesis. that was the original kind of villser soldier coming before axis joints, hubs, and swing joints got split off

if delphi than maybe a new armor set and series of heads like glyarmor. hopin for this one more then anything
>>
I really hate how Glyarmor is often tacked onto Nobotos/Quallerrans. It's nice on Travelers, but on Nobotos it just makes the figure feel way too chunky and it doesn't fit well. The only upside is that it isn't a complete fucking pain to fit on their body, Traveler Glyarmor feels like it's not even meant to attach.
>>
>>6410747

The colors are really nice but this sculpt is so lazy and boring it makes Toy Pizza look like a Four Horsemen figure to be honest.

>> How people pass up galaxxor and shit talk it constantly is baffling to me

It's like, one of those Kidrobot Munny or Dunny things that's just a blank formless body.
>>
>>6411158
>The body is the real MVP, a clean small vinyl part with 4 ports is infinitely useful.

It's just a tube though? If I found that part in my house I wouldn't even know it was a toy, I'd probably throw it away thinking it was some abandoned vacuum connector or dog toy to be honest.
>>
>>6410914
true you can do a lot, but most of the parts havent been offered in years
>>
>>6411871
This is what pisses me off about Galaxxor. The idea (Retro super-robot homages, if I'm not mistaken) has so much potential, as a fan of Getter Robo and other Japanese super robots I was incredibly excited to hear about Galaxxor. But the sculpt is so painfully basic.

I understand that vinyl is incredibly expensive to produce, but I would love to see more variety and articulation. I can't see that being introduced in Galaxxor's current state, but imagine a more poseable Galaxxor, with weapon sets and sculpting that could actually make proper use of homage colorways.
>>
>>6411923

I mean, even the Jumbo vinyls it's homaging have more detail. I understand going for the simple look but the parts seem so unrefined and blobby. The conehead there looks REALLY sharp, imagine how good the rest of it would look if that paintjob on the chest had some recesses or details to work with.
>>
>>6411826
>>6411826
Matt is a master of the obvious if we finally get a production Delphi. He's a tool if he shoves some Villser thing down our throats. I expect the Villser based on his posts.
>>
>>6411923
There's another chest and head piece being worked on for sure, so more variety is coming.
>>
>>6411876
This is the real shame. Vinyl has so much potential and it's wasted at this point. Unless the price has skyrocketed I don't understand the logic either, as vinyl items were between $3- $26 even with a price increase of $4- $30 it should be fine considering that drops are often full of excombos where most figures are $12-16 and then some random $20 or $25 thing. Doesn't seem much different from having blocks, wedges, bikes, and conversion kits all under $20 And then a rig or armodoc at a $30 price
>>
>>6411876
>>6412098
So now that we've meme'd detail lines back into existence should we shitpost our way back to vinyl too?

I thought the whole point of vinyl was that it's relatively cheap as fuck and easier to produce than steel molds, which is why every indie company and even 3A used it for stuff.

Molds are cheaper but cost per unit is higher. However like I said lately almost all figures are in the $12-15 dollar range so I honestly don't see a huge difference anymore. It used to be "Ok it's not a huge deal if we're sitting on 150 unsold whatevers because they are $7-$8 but if vinyl didn't sell and we're sitting on 150 $25 things we're in trouble" So unless vinyl jumped up in price nearly twice as high (which I don't think it has) I don't see the harm in having a drop every 6 months or so where there's 5 vinyl items and only 3-4 pvc figures and accessories. Order the minimum number of vinyl, it's probably pretty low(i'd guess 100-200) and sit back and relax. If it was established as a once in a while drop it would always sell. The only reason things stop selling is when we get blasted in the face with them like HERE HAVE 4X NOBOTO EVERY DROP FOR 12 MONTHS!! ALSO NOW THEY ARE PAIRED WITH GLYARMOR SO THEY ARE $5 MORE!! BUY BUY BUY NOBOTOS!!!

DELPHI

DELPHI

DELPHI

GLYOS LIVES!!! BRING ON THE DELPHI!!

Honestly I am close to done with glyos but more vinyl and Delphi would bring me back bigger than ever. Delphi are the single coolest characters/sculpts in the line's history. And having big ass ever changing ships are another staple of why it was so cool in the first place. A Rig is a masterpiece of form and function, the fact that you can photograph it 4 or 5 different ways and not even be able to tell that it's the same thing is insane.

I think I remember reading an interview with the Galaxxor dude where he says he was not a toymaker and is actually a horrible sculptor. Galaxxor was formed over the course of a year, just slowly and laboriously sanding away at parts until they reached shapes he liked. Given that, I can sorta understand the "unrefined" and overly simplistic look.
>>

>>6412112
Hmm, the way the foot tucks in neatly to the thigh is interesting. That entire piece is interestingly shaped.
>>
>>6412499
Y'know, unless you're REALLY concerned with having a "legit" piece, it might be worthwhile to just track down and buy a clear Gobon then contact Ni and commission a lookalike Nemica. He uses those same techniques to airbrush his clear pieces (Monsterkolor clear colors and high gloss topcoat).

>>
what would you like to see more of officially from the companys: contained builds or unlimited builds?
>>
>>6413891
Contained builds. It's neat to see unlimited builds for the potential of Glyos as a building toy, but I prefer contained builds because they're actually feasible to create.
>>
>>6413891
Both. It's great to have combo packages like that panther robot made out of accessory sets from Onell, or the crazy build bundle TGB just did. But I also want to see crazy shit that inspires me, gives me ideas, and makes me want to buy more than I can afford. This is how I got into glyos, from pics from the EMD and ZED waves that features tons of builds and endless amounts of figures.
>>
>>6410927
Dino Riders!!!
>>
>>6413917
This is good. Contained Builds shown offer more ideas of what to do with the stuff from the drop. Matt used to offer new contained builds all the time
>>
>>6413891

I still don't really know the difference between the two and I've been buying Glyos for like 3 years now.
>>
>>6414456
contained build is a build that uses All or nearly all pieces from complete specific molds only. So, for example, A Deep Space Glyan (one glyan and one hubset) is a contained build. The recent godbeast drop featured an extreme contained build, where it was offering a pack of 2 of each figure and accessory pack to make 2 giant monsters with barely any parts left over.

An unlimited build is a build that just pulls parts from anywhere, with no care or concern for using all pieces or how many figures you borrow parts from. Unlimited builds tend to be far more interesting, contained builds are for the poorfag express which is why so many people here are for them.
>>
>>6413837
Marty has posted here before and identified himself openly, for whatever that's worth. Anyway, this doesn't really matter to me either way. Shilling is kinda lame but I'm not so weak-minded that I would be taken in by such a practice. I know what I like and what I don't, and nobody telling me "look how cool this is!" is gonna change that. IF that really is you shilling the shadows though Marty, just come out and be direct next time, like the other anon suggested. Tell us Mushis are going on sale, post contained builds, whatever. Just don't be weird about it. Be a bro, not a slimy salesman.

Anyway, got my TGB package today. There was a surprise Kabuto Mushi comic inside! I liked the story, and there were some neat infection designs. The art was a bit rough, but that might just be because I'm used to Ralph's amazing artwork. Cool bonus item in any case.

Haven't even taken apart my Mushis yet....too tired to try and assemble the contained builds tonight. Maybe tomorrow. I did at least swap the grey and blue pieces to make "pure" colored Mushis though, and they look great.

What is what? The toyline in general? It's called Glyos, it's an indie toyline run by one dude that has branched out and had other independent creators make compatible parts for it.

It's based around an interlocking peg system that allows you to disassemble each figure into dozens of pieces and build new figures, like Lego.

Oops, sorry haha. I deleted my post cause I posted the wrong pic. Anyway, price range for a single figure is typically in the $10-15 range, but can be more or less depending on complexity and how many pieces it includes. They are typically around 3" tall, a good-ish size for game pieces!

Also, Phil Reed at Battlegrip sorta came out with a rough tabletop game you could play with Glyos:
>>
>>6414713
I was going for something more of a miniatures game than an RPG, something more like Warhammer or Warmahordes, but with an emphasis on fewer, more customized units.
>>
>>6414729
Ahh, I see. Yeah, it'd probably be cool. Given the nature of Glyos, you could have parts be shot off and harvested for upgrades in the field, having each player build up their avatar over time with scrap from battles.
>>
>>6414733
Exactly. Infantry are more modular and can scavenge, but are weaker to start with, while tanks/mechs are more rigid in design and require special support to repair, and monsters can only gain new parts by eating enemy units.

Use your teeth. No, I'm not joking. The PVC is pretty goddamn durable, I've been prying Glyos pegs out with my teeth for ages now. It almost never leaves any kind of mark, and in the rare events when it did, it always sprang back over time. If you feel really scared about it, wrap a thin cloth around the peg/part before biting it.

Hey someone saved my beach pics. Good, there was a group of 4 or 5 hot girls sitting right next to me while I made these and I felt like an idiot. And then I turned around and they started building sandcastles too. One of them spoke to me and I immediately ran to the ocean.
>>

I think they're a great option to have and I would dig seeing other cloth goods experiments in the future. Even though fabric is cheap and they are easy to DIY I love being satisfied with a figure right out of the box. That said I hope they don't become a crutch and I hope we continue to see some of the variety and experimentation of the past 3-4 drops.

Why did they stop making these big collar and skirt pieces? They really complete the look of the figure and are useful for other things.
>>
>>6418284
They're from the dark traveller/aged exellis/LSA mold which hasn't been used in a long time. Just another example of wasting molds especially considering it's a newer one. I hated the DT chest piece but the multi piece heads and belts/scarves were great and much more useful/aesthetic than glyarmor.

Thanks.

I used two of the ROCK BEETORIAN STANDARD Mushi which are still in stock, and some of the slitherhook set tentacles that sold out unfortunately.

I supplemented that with some Bio-masters parts(the tan creatures). They only have the standard tan one with the big body bulb part that is on the spider's butt, but they're out of the supplementary set with the tan tentacles.

You could probably recreate most of it with two of the remaining Bio-Masters set but you'd have to get creative with whatever pieces were from the Godbeast slitherhook add-on.

Finally built my DX Mushis. Stone Crawler is solid as fuck, I was not really expecting that with those two-piece tentacle legs. Thought there would be a lot of bowing and undesired swiveling leading to it crashing to the ground.

On the other hand, my Flora Crawler is tough to deal with. The two pieces of the head pop off really easily, the Kabuto thigh pieces are all very loose, and it's really tough to get it to pose with its tusks off the ground. There just isn't much clearance there.

I was totally expecting to love Flora more, but Stone is just more fun to play with due to its stability.
>>
>>6419300
I had a similar situation with the blue build.

I just heated the thighs pins, squished them down a bit while warm (widening the pin slightly), let them rest a bit and then inserted them. I also heated the hole they went into, let it rest a bit and then connected.

My loose joints are nice and tight and have been that way since.

I also heated the chest hole to get the axis joint pin in deeper so that whole underside piece stayed on better.

I love both builds but the blue one is my favorite. He's just to creepy and has more character in that face.

I kind of like how cheap and "toyetic" the blue plastic looks. Reminds me of like...Imaginext, or Playmobil. The silver hands and boots are nice too. The face tampo....I'm really conflicted on. It's a little neat I guess, but it also sorta looks like crap. I dunno. In any event, I wouldn't be mad to own this figure. IMO it looks better than the painted-on beard from the last homage.

No no, I know what it's homaging. But the look of the plastic doesn't remind me of the Adventure People figure. It looks much more cheap and chintzy, in an appealing way. In fact, Playmobil and Imaginext is probably too high-grade even...the plastic sorta makes me think of vending machine toys. And again, I mean that in an appealing way.
>>
Got a potentially interesting discussion question for y'all.

How do you think Glyos will be seen and regarded in the far future? Let's say 30 years from now, the line has ended and Matt has long retired from the toy business. How will future collectors view the line? Do you think these will become sought after on the aftermarket? Will Glyos simply be forgotten, lost to time?

I'm curious how a drop-style line with extremely limited production runs for each release and a lot of super obscure third-party "addons" and sublines will age. Like, did we ever have anything like this in the 70s or 80s, so we could have some idea of what might happen to it?
>>
>>6427873
OSM will be remembered cause it's a old line. Robo Force probably cause people like robots. One of the better Glyos things to build with besides accessories. Pheyden design will be remembered kind of how people remember Alpha 7 from OSM. It's all a blip in the independent toy industry. Something talked about like toy lines that lasted only a few years for hardcore fans (OSM, Robo Force, Air Raiders, Starcom, Army Ants, Micro Machines, Pogs, Construx, Disney Infinity, EXO Squad, MASK, MUSCLE, Monsters in my Pocket, Megaforce). Ten years helps but its already a blip to the MTv people who first found it. Revered as something cool once and you wish would come back. Maybes buy some off of eBay in a lot
>>
>>6427873
>I'm curious how a drop-style line with extremely limited production runs for each release and a lot of super obscure third-party "addons" and sublines will age. Like, did we ever have anything like this in the 70s or 80s, so we could have some idea of what might happen to it?
I think toys will become things people make on their personal 3d printers, and if Glyos is remembered it will be as one of the forerunners for niche universal connector toys that inspired the people making the models for the 3d printers.
>>
>>6427849
Yeah, I love the idea of paying $12 for a toy that reminds me of some fucking tiny ninja I could get for 25 cents. You just drove the point home, new glyos figures look like cheap trash that would barely sell in a vending machine. At least bit figs make sense now!

>>6427873
I doubt it will be remembered at all, ie outside of the 200 people that buy glyos no one knows it exists. Every once in a while one of the 5 people that posts builds or pics my throw a random photo up and a couple of interested parties might go "Oh cool, what the heck is that??"

But we're talking about a line with no fandom, no retail footprint, nothing. Toylines people remember today were made in the 10s of thousands. Even though glyos has sold that many individual figures, they've all been sold to the same 500 people (figure fandom has never had more than 250 buyers or so, but some leave and a few new come in etc). It won't be remembered because it doesn't exist. Honestly outside of 4chan and already glyos connected web pages have you ever seen anyone on the internet mention them?

I'd love to see a new Gendrone sculpt, especially because this is somewhat likely to be the Gendrone return drop. Maybe it's some sort of new body for Argen?

>>
>>6435435
Sure, as long as someone is willing to do the legwork...which means showing up to every drop on time to save the full-res photos, then make entries for all those figures. It's not particularly difficult, but might get tedious.

I'm willing to chip in some help if someone sets it up and makes it community-editable. I'm really not happy with the current way the archive is run, I like to be able to see all the figures in a given drop at once instead of clicking on them one by one in that sidebar. Basically what I'm saying is I was happy with the old-style archive, it just needed to be broken up into reasonable sized chunks.

Also, even if we split it up drop-by-drop, which I do think is a good idea, they need THUMBNAILS so bad. I'm sick of scrolling through that list of waves with names I don't recall, clicking on each one to find the figure I want.
>>

Well well! Someone has been working very hard keeping this wiki up to date, and I really do appreciate that (guessing it's mostly user fallofthemutants, since they have like 12,000 edits to their name). However, as far as an index of all the figures, it has the same problem as the official archive--you need to painstakingly click on each figure's name to see it, and there is no way to visually scan drops, you need to guess which one you're looking for.

The info is all entered in there, we just need a better way to visually scan over it quickly.
>>
I'm kind of hoping that this drop doesn't have a mystery figure. I like the concept, but after missing out on Rayexx and Phanoid, I feel more pressured to buy the figure in case it ends up being completely desirable. However, Commayder was pretty disappointing, and i'm not the biggest fan of Neo Astrovos. Hopefully the next few mystery figures are better

From the comments:

>"This new (old) character is the largest PVC figure we've made for the Onell imprint, standing just over 3.5" tall."

>"Each part was designed and sculpted to try and continue the themes and evolution we've been exploring since we started, but with some fresh yet also familiar dimensions and angles. There are some fun secrets layered into the aesthetic lines."

>>
>>6445763
That's a shame. I actually really love the Outlander mold, but it never seemed to catch on.

The weird and untimely color releases didn't help. I think it was also missing three key female ports: bottom of the feet and one on that back. That would have made the whole thing infinitely more useful.
>>
>>6445763
Outlander is the only current Glyos line (that isn't dead in the water like fucking Callgrim) that I could see actually dying out in the near future. The existing stock isn't moving anywhere near fast enough to warrant new production. It's a shame, the alternate heads are actually really nice.

This sculpt will tell us what the future is for Onell. Sadly, we haven't gotten a new full figure sculpt since 2013. Will these be a long-awaited revealing or will it be some garbled mess?

I am very interested to see the thing fully put together (in it's one or more forms) and see what it is. Will it have enough "character" to be something as coveted as the Armorvor or the figures that came before it? Or will it just be a downgraded version of something that has previously existed in resin?

Will the parts breakdown and sculpting lines lend itself to something that can be swapped and personalized or will we see a continuation of the overly painted statue-shit? I'm sure there will be plain figures this first drop. I just mean, how was the sculpt intended and what will we see Matt do with it? An example is Kabuto Mushi II was totally made in a way where it doesn't need paint apps. Now, Marty has gone the way of paint apps simply for variety because he has made so many colors. But, that sculpt doesn't need them to look very striking!

It has taken so DAMN long to get a new figure out of Onell that if this lands like the Neo Granthan head or whatever then the line is pretty much stagnant. The thing that made Onell so amazing right from the beginning was Matt's designs and sculpts. The figures are fairly primitive, but have a lot of heart. Who doesn't love Pheyden? Sarvos? Phanost? Armorvor?

I guess no matter what I see myself being pretty disappointed if we don't get a Delphi. And, if it's just an indistinct blob with a Delphi head, that's going to be a tough sale unless that head is AWESOME!!! If that head lands on us like the Neo Granthan head, then kiss my money goodbye.
>>
>>6446623
It's not stagnant if an entirely new figure is being released. It may be going in a direction you don't like, but the line isn't dying because you don't like the whole new figure.
>>
>>6446768
Hey retard...what I mean is that if it sucks and sits around and piles up in the store like Noboto, DT, Neo Granthan, etc. then that's bad for Onell. This figure needs to be cool and have 4 min. sellouts and be well received by the fanbase. Otherwise, it's just one more boring exercise of Matt not really giving the people what they want and trolling for years about getting around to things and hinting continually and then delivering something flat. I still expect to be blown away, but it's hard to really be too hyped knowing that this could go either way.
>>
>>6446937
Fair point, I hadn't considered that. Slinging shit at me before making a constructive response doesn't leave the best taste in my mouth, though, Let's just both hope that this figure will be good as a whole.
>>
The comparison shots of the feet and hands don't do this new sculpt any favors. Distinct shapes vs barely sculpted blobs. I was initially excited but am already prepared for disappointment.
>>
>>6447724
The blobby shape would work perfectly in the figure's favor if it ended up being Villser.
>>
>>6447758
Yeah, except that nobody really gives a shit about Villser. This is like if John Kent designed a Glyos figure...unless we all of a sudden get some sweet reveals and redemption.
>>
Lol yeah I'm sooo excited by a villiser soldier!

The only cool villiser was the vinyl one and even then nobody gives a shit.
>>
>>6410173
I'm really enjoying the detail on the armor.
>>
>>6448152
>This is like if John Kent designed a Glyos figure..
?
>>
>>6448583
Kent sucks. Duh.

This figure could totally be great still. The other side of the hand looks fine. The legs look fine. But, I don't understand them. Matt didn't like the Delphi legs from the CC stuff because they were stiff, straight, and not posable. But, then these legs are exactly as stiff as the CC ones. Um, don't tell us you need joints and that's why you don't release Delphi and then you release it with stiff fucking legs! I actually am not bothered at all as the legs are fine in my book. Just more contradictory crap and excuses for why this has taken 6 years to see come to fruition.
>>
I'm sure it's not Delphi. Doubt it's villser either. Assuming that is the case (and it may not be) what else could it be? I'm thinking it's a new gendrone/Argen figure. He was dismantled (destroyed) but has shown signs of restoration.

I just want a Fucking renegade gobon. This ain't it.
>>
>>6449145
Matt said it's a long awaited character. Could be some other traveler or new body for Govurum, but I still think it's Delphi.
>>
>>6449145
I seriously think it's Delphi/Villser at this point. The only other option that would fit with the whole "Long since destroyed" thing would be Argen, Microshin, or some form of Armorvor, and none of those quite fit with what's been shown.
>>
Cant even tell what the new part is
>>
Admittedly I am not a big fan of Onell's design style but looked up all the Delphi stuff online and how is this much different than every other figure in the line? Head looks slightly different I guess but meh.
>>
>>6451603
>looked up all the Delphi stuff online
>how is this much different
All the existing Delphi are just customs made with existing parts + custom heads though. We haven't seen an "official" mainline release Delphi yet, so nobody knows what it will look like.

Also, we don't know if the new figure even IS a Delphi. You're making a lot of assumptions there, bucko.
>>
>>6451603
>Head looks slightly different I guess but meh.
You're probably not the best person to be critiquing the line if you think the Delphi head looks "slightly different I guess" from "every other figure in the line." Why are you even in this thread if you're not a fan of Onell?
>>
>>6452322
There's a lot of art of the Delphi thing online that aren't just customs, and I've been looking at the part preview hints and it all looks very samey to me.

>>6452326
Fair question. I like the idea of Glyos(always have) but only really buy the other Glyos stuff than Onell.

Anyway sorry to trigger you guys, wasn't trying to troll, probably came off that way though.

The Delphi have been shown with many different looks in different sketches and concepts. Look, there's even one with a smooth humanoid hand here. Like I said, there's never been a definitive production one, and furthermore, Matt could easily have changed his mind or redesigned them since. tl;dr: there's really no telling what we're in for, or whether it even will be the Delphi.

There's no point in getting down on it before it's even fully revealed. If you break down say, a Glyan or Buildman into its component parts, most of them pretty abstract and "samey" too. They all fall under Onell's general aesthetic, just as intended.
>>
Head reveal Thurs?
>>
>>6453156
Looks like it. Matt's revealed both the limbs already, i'm expecting a slow torso/waist reveal and then a head reveal on Wednesday with a full picture right before the drop.

You're fine. The Delphi have sort of taken on this existence of mythic proportions not unlike the space jockey from the original Alien film. For those that have been around for a while it's one of those mystical creatures we have never known much about, but has captured everyone's imaginations.

I hope this thing is partially cast in grey and it's not 50% paint, although seeing as how Kent is able to do the mystery modules and include extra arms in different colors, the tooling seems to allow for it. Matching grey or black Zeroids would be great, too.

We now basically have parts for hinges, swivels, and balljoints, so articulation is pretty much as free as you can build.

If you mean will the standalone single figures ever get better articulation, then nah, probably not. Glyos is like Lego, it's about diving in and getting your hands dirty to get what you want.

oh thanks man, that kind of makes it easier to visualize the figure. I'm excited and also kinda worried, I work the night of the drop and I get off just shortly before go time. I'm wondering if I should stick around and chance the shoddy connection at work, or try to speed home before the store opens.
>>
>>6459129
That's rough. I don't particularly like any of the component parts- I guess I'm going to have to see the full figure before making any decisions, but it's looking grim.

A lot's also resting on whether it's Villser Soldier or Delphi- Hoping for Delphi, Villser Soldier was shown exactly fucking once and doesn't even look that great. If Villser ever makes a proper physical appearance, let's hope for vinyl.
>>
>>6459338
i like the shins, thighs, crotch, and the forearms/hands, kind of mystified about the rest. We'll see how the full figure looks. I traditionally usually buy the new molds on principle though, just to see how they are.

Photo of fig is up and it's not a Delphi unless there's an extra head not yet revealed. It looks kind of neat, like an official fig of the Glyonaut (I think) whatever build it was that was mostly axis joints like a pre-DSG. But still not being a Delphi if that turns out to be the case, stings.

The fuck does this even mean? The only defining feature of a Delphi is being tall and their badass heads. Any body could have been engineered to be a Delphi body.

Even this would be an ok production Delphi body, but if the head isn't included as an alternate then I'm not buying.

Can someone explain the hate for villser and the love for delphi? Is it a dumb lore thing?

I've never thought the custom delphi heads looked cool and this has some interesting new parts so I'll pick it up tonight.
>>
The Delphi is a unique and iconic sculpt- I personally love it, but even if you don't like it you can admit that it's unique to the line. The character itself is also in a neat position, lore wise they are essentially engineers back when they were still mysterious and cool- they were powerful ancestors holding the secrets to the creation of the glyos universe.

The villser is less liked because they are basically the thing, described as a virus that infects and corrupts the host and with far less going on about them. Production wise we only ever saw a single drawing of them, and it was a less than impressive buildman esque figure with a tentacle arm. They are less distinct by design and usually just represented by figures being built with asymmetrical larger limbs. Outside of the head here which is pretty cool this figure looks like a blobby mess imo.
>>
>>6462101
Fair enough. I appreciate the measured response. I've never known much about glyos outside of "oh this one looks cool". I think the new body looks fun, but I can completely understand why someone might be disappointed in it. Maybe we'll be surprised with some new heads or accessory packs.
>>
>>6462107
This is my secret hope, that Matt has spent the past weeks teasing the villser and that when the store opens there will be an alternate figure for sale with some alternate parts including a Delphi head. A new extra set would be great, a special torso and a couple of different Delphi heads to go with the limbs from the villser would be ideal.

So the panel lined figure sold out the fastest??? Take note Matt
>>
>>6462692
It's true they are popular, but I'm guessing they are also being produced in smaller batches than the rest.

Panel lining seems to add about $4 to the cost of a Traveler + armor. Would you guys seriously buy an entire panel lined wave if it meant an extra $3-4 per figure? I like panel lines a lot myself, but I dunno if I could swallow that cost for each and every figure.
>>
>>6462733
We don't need every figure with panel lines to be some super deluxe figure bundled with 1 or 2 sets of armor. A perfect drop would be 3 figure molds with panel lines and any 2 accessory sets with panel lines. Let us build with lines again. It's not going to break anyone's wallet- on the production sign or on the consumer side.
>>
>>6462854
>We don't need every figure with panel lines to be some super deluxe figure bundled with 1 or 2 sets of armor
No, I get that. I'm saying the cost in this very drop of a Traveler + Glyarmor differed in cost by $4 between lined/unlined. So we can assume that at least 1 of those dollars went to lining the armor, maybe like $1.50. So let us assume that it costs around $2.50 - 3 to line a basic figure.

Would you guys be willing to pay that for every figure in a drop is what I'm asking. So far it's been just one-off experiments, which as I mentioned, are probably made in a very small quantity. In an army building type drop, where people want a ton of figures and parts, would the addition of that $3 or so per figure just make people mad? That would add up pretty quick. I mean, back in the day my army building orders would consist of at least 15-20 figures--that would tack on $45-60 for panel lining alone, and that's assuming they're all basic figures with no deluxe features or extras.

I'm basically curious if people really DO want panel lining to return on a larger scale or if it will all implode once it moves past the single figure scale. Y'know, one of those "we wanted it intensely until we realized how much it would cost" type of deals.
>>
Really excited to finally own a Buildman, and in my favorite colorway too. Picked up Villser in matching colors, as well- Can't wait to see the build potential of these two! I'm going to make some sort of Villser Argen build as soon as my order comes in.
>>
>>6462907
I'm curious as to why you posted a novel about the first half of my post when I already answered your questions with the second half of my post.

Of course things are no longer the same and with glyos being a small fan base of 95% poorfags we can never expect a massive drop of fully detail lined figs again.

But as I said, a perfect drop would be one with 2-3 figs panel lines and 2-3 accessory sets to go along with them also panel lined so we can build. All you need for a cool faction is a commander and a troop builder, then maybe a robot or an engineer or whatever.

The days of ordering 20 figures are over for most, but ordering 4 or 5 figures and a few accessory sets would still put you right around the $100 mark assuming that every figure wasn't some bundled bullshit driving the price up to $20
>>
I always miss getting the matching axis joints... Ugh, I really hate that, I wish those were produced in higher numbers, because I usually buy 8-10 axis sets when I like the colorway
