Please don't post guro on a blue board.
Windshields are nice for display cases.
Those of you with Lego Stores near you. How long do they usually take to get newly released stuff on their shelves?
for some reason the hinged waist made ed more stable.
now i can build a better stairwell.
>>6397646
love it
nice job
>>6397644
To my knowledge, they usually get shipments in early, and will have the new sets for sale on the official release date
I really wish buying on Bricklink could be simplified to like normal websites using crystalcommerce or something similar to Amazon or eBay.
Having to go to each individual store, having to purchase everything separately, wait for invoices, the difficulty searching for stuff can be without item numbers or knowing the correct keywords...I just want to buy some minifigs help round-out my Collection of characters, but I HAVE to use Bricklink because doing this on ebay is just impossible.

Too comfy

We also never found out what that piece of art was made of. Was it cardboard? A sticker?

This is why Brickowl happened, but no-one bothers with it

Wasn't the highest res photo but appeared to be the box art from one of the Helm's Deep sets from 2011/12....Uruk Hai scaling the walls. I loved the swords and shields they made for those sets.

search for the pieces on bricklink and then build the old LEGO sets with them, thats what I've been doing this week.
Hope you find some neat stuff whether it's a set of a new idea this weekend, anons
As for me, I'm starting to put some money aside for the bait shop and a nice ninjago set or two later this year
New Creator Vehicle
>>6398028
Not a fan, would have been on board if it were minifig scaled like a few mocs I've seen.

I remember getting a replacement for the CMF zombiebusiness man broken suitcase, but that was a while ago.
Personally i don't mind lower mouths, gives faces character and implies different face-shapes. Eyes and mouth very low makes characters look younger, just a lower mouth makes the face look longer and more pronounced, but the face too high just looks like downs-syndrome.
I'm really glad my Dyna-mite has quite a lower face than others i've seen because mine looks way better to me.
>>6397857
That's probably the most fun for me. Really coming up with creative ways to incorporate obscure and strange pieces. Even if it doesn't come to you immediately, one day you'll have an eureka moment where that weird thing you bought is suddenly the finishing touch.
Ugh, new JL sets look garbage. I can't describe why I dislike the minifigs. They're like.. TOO detailed? Also why is the flash using a gun
realistically what would my lego 10030 UCS star destroyer be worth in AUD
>>6398135
https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?S=10030-1&T=P
Upwards of $800, possibly over $1000. Depends on how fast you want it gone.
how much Neo-Hong Kong will be, anons?
i really want it... i would use it as my ultimate playground and put all my custom minifigs in it to make a perfect world to live in
but damn...
1) it will be very expensive
2) AND THEN even more expensive so i will never buy it ever in my entire life
i need to keep saving money right now
>>6398195
$299.99 US
I've got $80 in Lego VIP points built up. But I've still got some saving to do.
>>6398028
Oh shit
new tire piece
>>6398195
$499 AUD. It's fucking impressive but I'm still at a loss as to how I'll blend it with the classic european modular city I already have going.
I'll be getting one day 1 release but I'll be waiting for Myer's regular 20% off toys sales, TRU sales, etc etc and whenever I have sufficient disposable income I think I'll try and grab a box to put on the top shelf of the closet. I doubt they'll be a huge run of these and I think once they're gone, the latecomer's tax on these is going to be fucking huge.
Yes they're expensive but buy two and when you sell the second one in 2 years time you'll almost have gotten both 'for free'.
Also, I hope Neo Honk Kong catches on for the name.
>>6398231
>$499
what...
that means >>6398203 is a fucking liar?
I could afford 300$ but 500$?!
fuck that...
not going to buy it...
I want it because it literally looks like my dream city. Very cyberpunk-ish but in a positive way.
Looks like a map from Overwatch, a drawing from Big Hero 6, etc.
>>6398231
>Yes they're expensive but buy two and when you sell the second one in 2 years time you'll almost have gotten both 'for free'.
its not about this...i literally wont be able to get that much money (not everybody lives in Ameirca where you have a big house, 2 cars, 4 TVs, 5 consoles, 3 dogs, 2 quadrocopters and updating Ipad every year/throwing old one to garbage)
>>6398234
$300 US, $500 Australian.
>>6398235
ok may be i will be able to get it...
but wow i got freaked out... 500$. i would rather buy a PC for that. or just keep those money to live without worrying about food/rent.
>>6398238
Are you from the motherland, anon?
>>6398261
y-yes... here we can live with 200$ per month. 500$ = 3 months of mother russia not asking me to visit gulag.
>>6398215
>new tire piece
is it, really? I think I've seen them before.
>>6398284
probably around 120, but price hasn't been announced yet.
>>6398281
If you buy things from physical lego stores, or the lego Shop@Home, you can get VIP points (one point per dollar spent) and 100 points turns into $5 off.
They sometimes have double/triple VIP point promotions
>>6398281
If you buy from an official Lego source and have an exclusive membership, you get 1 point per dollar spent. 100 points gives you $5 to use on your next official Lego purchase. To join is usually a whole thing about being invited and whatnot, but I happen to know a link that you can use to register. It will only work for the US though.

>>6397965
With the condition of the other parts and amount of stuff missing from that old tub, I might as well just buy the sets again. It did get me looking through older themes and discovering stuff I'd never heard of.
>>6398129
I guess it does add more character and uniqueness to the figure, but I just don't like the way it looks. The bottom of the mouth also gets cut off a bit when I put a helmet on it, which looks ridiculous.
>>6398385
look up the "creator" sets
pretty sweet little houses, vehicles, and characters
As for licenced, I don't like much of them, but The Lego batman movie Joker lowrider is pretty sweet

>>6398418
>TLG employees
Doubt it. Most likely some third world shithole where it would cost too much o get them shipped back from.
>>6398428
Never mind, found it.
I was thinking of making a Moon Knight fig, and this seems like it would be a great fit. Too bad only one minifig in one set (Taskmaster) has ever had a white hood or cape.
Saw the Penguin car for £20 at toys r us but I got the spiderman homecoming bank heist instead. Did i fuck up?
>>6397644
The only time I've been to Lego store in my AFOL years (last summer) they had summer sets up on last day of May, a day before official release.
Dunno if that's a thing they do or if that store just fucked up.
>>6398418
How come I can't find any posts about this on any English speaking communities?
>>6398417
That Y-Wing is great.
Im happy that LEGO has released in just the last 2 years a modern version of all 5 Icon Rebel Starfighter designs in the X-Wing (the Resistance version and Poe's awesome custom design), the Y-Wing (with a great droid), The A-Wing (with the best Lando minifig ever), and the Millennium Falcon (sure it has the TFA radar dish, but its the best designed Falcon outside of the UCS).
Now all they need to do is release a modern B-wing and the Rebels are good to go in terms of Starfighters...I wish they'd show the same love to the Rebel Capital Ships (CR-90 Corvette, Home One, A Medium Transport), but I'll take these for now.
Now if only they can get a move on the Imperial/First Order Starfighters. The F.O.S.F Tie Fighter was great, but where is the Interceptor? The Bomber? A New Defender from Rebels? I mean, Its great we've gotten so many cool Grand Vehicles (Tank, AT-ST, Heavy Assault Walker soon, Imperial Battle Pack) but in terms of Starships...All we've been getting is Transporters, Shuttles, and the new First Order Star Destroyer coming later this year.
Give us Starships from the Original Trilogy. Hell even the Capital Ships and Starfighters from Clone Wars and Rebels could use some releases or rereleases.
>>6398437
I'd say so. Penguin's car is great, though I don't really like the gold.
>>6398416

Chill out bootlegfag.
The challenge is to make a LEGO moc.
If you make a lego moc but add random shitty stuff on it - it stops being a L E G O moc.
Do you even understand how that works?
You might as well attach literal piece of shit to your moc and be upset when it gets removed.
>>6398547
Yea you're right. Grey empty boxes are modern and not as frowned upon as colorful childrens toys
>>6398549
>build moc

>>6398559
>If there's a building block that's better than lego I'm going to use it
do what you want. its your toy
But dont deny that your moc is not a lego moc because you using non lego parts.
>>6398511
Autism doesn't just mean something you don't like, anon. Whatever you think of people that buy bootlegos, they are displaying a healthy lack of autism.
>>6398547
Those are at least different characters. The whole thing with the clones is that it's just rows of the same thing.
>>6398563

Filthy bootlegoscum buys crappy products but still wants to be accepted in Lego Community.
Yeah whatever.
>>6398538
I don't want to spend $5 on a hood. I keep checking Bricklink for stores that have a lot of minifig parts I want, but they tend to be spread out, and Lego's Bricks and Pieces thing either doesn't stock some parts I want (Like Mighty Micro Magneto's head) or is sold out of them.

Have the bountyhunter starwars set lying unopened here.
Not such a starwars fag but like space and robots and remember being intrigued by my friends Bossk figure. I mostly bought it because i know Lego won't do anything like this quickly again and once the set goes out of production the parts from these popular characters will be >9000s cents and i might kick myself for wanting some of them later.
>>6398700
Finally got my TIE Striker, Resistance X-Wing and Imperial Star Destroyer in the mail this morning.
Have already built the Striker. Just not eating some dinner before beginning the Resistance X-Wing, and I'll probably save the Star Destroyer for tomorrow.

I managed to find this set on clearance and it seems really comfy.
Do you have any ideas for autistic lore regarding the minifigs in the set? All I have so far is that the two inmates are a classic "brains and brawn" duo.
>>6398742
Add some gap moe. The brawny one is the actual brains, while the other guy is a bumbling "used" car salesman.
>>6398746

There's a Friends hospital that was out recently.

>>6399039
Nice, it has a back too. Must have missed it.
Neat.
They added a police and fire stations with a bunch of stuff in each of them.
Also there's a piece of runway available so an airport will most likely be next.
>>6398958
i dont really see the point of this piece in this build
>>6399045
Yeah that's the section that needs the most work. I want the fold out "transport" section to be adaptable to different vehicles and cargo.
>>6399077
They offset the placement of the giant gun and needed it to be secure, I guess. I'm not complaining, new parts are new parts, and this will be immensely useful. I'm actually looking forward to the whole set, unlike most. It's an awesome black parts pack, and I don't have many DC minifigs atm, so it'll be nice to get them

>>6398385 here. Piucked up lukes landspeeder today. because it was the best looking one at walmart under 20 dollars(payday is today/tomorrow at the time) It was okay! Prolly gonna pick up corner deli and the two house one this week and stick to that kind of theme. Eventually plan on buying superhero sets/ things that could happen in an action movie so I can make some kind of cool dioramas or something.
is what they do with the tubes in lukes landspeeder legal?
Anyone else see baby driver? I want to buy a few speed champions more than I ever have before and make a police chase moc
>>6398742
My gf and I just got done this one. There's a sticker for the strong man's cell, it's a photo of the girl who comes in the balloon for his rescue.
So it could be as much of a love story as an action one... sounds a bit mushy for prison island, but it's a great set.

Too far to check and too shy to call
I just want my plastic antidepressants so I don't kill myself
How is this set? I know it's not a great arkham (not nearly gothic enough) but it looks like a neat old style hospital
I was thinking about buying two of them to combine together and selling the minifigures to offset the cost, but I also don't know how much is a reasonable price for all of them

>>6398549
I agree but only somewhat.
I saw a guy that excessively used Brickarms Double-clips in mocs to connect pieces that wouldn't otherwise go together. I would call that cheating and might as well use 2x4 Megabloks bricks instead of Basics.
But when it's minifig acessories like a gun or turret I find it ok because there just is no good way of making guns unless you accept "Exo-Force Drone arm + T-Piece + Lightsaber hilt = AK-47"
>>6398592

300$ for nearly 5000 pieces. This thing is a MUCH better deal than the other Ninjago D2C. At that count and size I kind of expected 400€ like the Ghostbusters house.
I hope it will be available at Toysrus.de so I can snag it with 10 to 20% off like the Simpsons kits.
>>6398229
I assume the shelf life similar to the Seacow so 1,5 years, maybe 2.
>>6398231
Don't frighten the children. This is a fuck huge D2C, this isn't a shitty Ideas set that it only gets one production run (10.000 kits). D2Cs always last at least 1,5 years, many are planned for longer. There is only a tiny number of failures and that is always license UCS shit not in minifig scale, aimed at people that would have an easier time with model kits (UCS Tumbler 1 year, UCS AOTC Jedi fighter 6 months, Grievous statue 6 months, UCS B-Wing 6 months but actually 1 year because nobody wanted to buy the fucking thing).

Been putting together a set about every other day. Pretty happy with where I'm at on the private-vehicles-towing-stuff collection! Any suggestions to expand on it?

>>6398958
those are the most fugly minifigures I've ever seen. Jesus christ. Lego really needs to calm it down with the minute details or they're just going to have photographed faces and clothes on their figures by 2020

>>6400805
>Honest question, how do you dudes with the huge digital files catalog the parts to get them on bricklink?
Export BOM in LDD, this will give you an .xslx part list. Manually add parts to BL wanted list, doing colour corrections to the model in real-time based on colour availability.

Elaborate
On amazon current sets are 10 cheaper than on lego shop at home. But, there is no vip points obviously. Which is better/cheaper in the long run? Also, I do have prime, so that's free two day shipping on amazon.
>>6401626
Speaking purely from a mathematical standpoint, since you get 5$ for every 100 points, you would be better off buying it from Amazon unless it's more than $200, in which case the points you would earn from Lego would be more than the $10 you're saving.
>>6401626
You'll only get $1 of VIP credit for every $20 spent. Double that during the promotions. But it doesn't really make sense to me when you can save $10 on a $40 set, or whatever.
Having VIP status is more important for the access to sets early, imo
>>6401563
Fuck yeah! Also, a decent store promo for the first time in a while.
>>6401233

>>6400823

>>6401669
They have just different colors.
New guy getting back in, posted the other day. So far I have picked up three small sets just to kinda test the waters. they are, along with my thoughts on each:
>>75173 Luke's Land speeder
was my very first one. It was calming building and I def wanna get back in more, but maybe not with star wars, at least rn. Part of me does want to modify it and make it sort of a technical with an e-web blaster, but where can I find this burnt orange color? color?
>>76082 ATM Heist Battle
Bought this because I realized I want to make a little street with some of the medium sized creator sets, and small buildings from other set. I also really like the robbers wearing avengers mask, and wanted a spiderman fig. I Need to build a roof, and maybe modify the back so it looks better, before it goes in the neighborhood.
>>76044 Clash of the Heroes
Wanted it for the figs, but also figured it was a good way to dress up a roof. Scrapped the turret thing, built it into the wall in the back, and and reworked the spotlight to not be shootable.
Any thoughts/reccomendations on cheap sets to buy with my tip money from work(usually get 20-30 on top of hourly a night)?
>>6401673
lol forgot how >>numbers works
>>6401669
Yeah, I missed out on the cave people. I was still resisting getting into Lego when they were originally released.
>>6401665
Great. I don't know what the general opinion on this is, but I really like the "curvy" printing they do for females. And that torso could be used for a MGS2 Raiden
>>6401258
God fucking damn I hate the 6 brick tall doors so much, figs look like midgets.
Why did they change to that size?
>>6401696
Probably for larger hair pieces. And minidolls.
>>6401662
I was debating getting it as well.
one one hand, nice tank and nice Ayla Secura minifig
on the other hand, A-Wing is best starfighter
on the third hand every time I look at A-Wings I think I'll just build a better one eventually
I ended up buying chinkbricks instead.
>>6401422
I only have Palace Cinema and I adore it, even if the inside is bit lacking. It was also 30€ cheaper than rest so yeah. Don't know if it's still available, though.
But you can't go wrong with Restaurant or Office. Bank isn't bad in a sense, but it feels bit lacking to me. Maybe it's the laundromat that's just tacked on. White and grey isn't very eyecatching color scheme either

Get the Ghost Rider set if you can still find one. It has really nice street corner with newspaper vendors and traffic lights. You'd double dip on Spideys, but it's different print altogether. Ghost Rider is also amazing fig, and then there's Hobgoblin.

>>6400558
Ah nice, i'm not such a fan of the more smooth and modern nexo tech design. So this more industrial oldschool detailing looks way more attractive to me.
>>6400464
Nice selection anon, do you like to moc?
Because then dabbling into speedchampions and making them more in scale with the city stuff is a good way to go deeper into different cars.
>>6400442
I more or less finished a 60's le mans inspired but with a 90's style bugatti front racecar based around the speedchampions gt40. Using this windshield, seating a minifigure AND having a closed roof is rather tough, but i got it as low as i possibly could.
I'll post it in a bit.

>>6402067
set 21109 might be worth a look.
It's out of production but still available at or around retail, check on bricklink for best prices.
And it is finally completed...the 75055 Imperial Star Destroyer. I got a really good deal on this kid, despite is being retired for quite some time now. It was brand new in the box, with the factory seals intact.
Its alittle smaller than I thought with 1300+ pieces, but damn is this thing sturdy as fuck and the handle is so greatly built into the skeleton of the entire ship, that you could swoop this thing around VERY easily from the handle and never fear that it'll break or anything.
>>6402086
And here is an inside look at the Imperial Star Destroyer.
All the minifigs you see came with the kit, with the exception of the Grand Admiral Thrawn minifig. I figured that despite being alittle deeper into the time line, Thrawn made sense to be inside a Star Destroyer, potentially talking to Vader and Palpatine than he would on a First Order Star Destroyer or really any other Imperial Capital Ship or Station/Playset.
Bought a Creator set Detective's Office and put it away sealed but am so torn to build it. I usually build the sets as intended, then tear into them with some mods of my own. I was hoping to keep this possibly as an investment, but who am I kidding. I'll probably never sell a brick.

For right now, your best bets are the Battle Suits from the current Nexo Knights wave, since they're cheap and have great parts in them.
If those don't interest you, the upcoming Ninjago Movie sets have plenty of them, so it's probably worth waiting until August to fulfill your Mech-related needs.
yellow or fleshie?
>>6402155
Thanks anon!
In other news, I did a little heresy last night after finishing up some builds. Unfortunately the frowny face has some significant chewing marks, but it was only 20 cents and it was good practice. Hopefully the printing on the next one I get will be as tough as this one was.
>>6402089
Rebels has brought him in much much earlier than he used to be.
>>6402221
I meant the Star Destroyer, but yeah...Rebels, currently, is like 2-3 years before RO/ANH now going into Season 4.
So unless Thrawn gets murdered, he could still be behind the scenes, but Im sure he'll survive Season 4 of Rebels so they can use him for future projects and Galaxy of Heroes stuff.
>>6401696
The old 5 high doors can't fit like half of my minifigures. If a figure has hair/hats and an accessory around the neck or even the new hip accessories like pouches or a tail they quickly get too tall for them to fit.
The creator ones like i used in pic related are pretty much non-functional for everything.
>>6401695
Some really dislike it but i mostly don't mind.
If you read them as the torso being more tapered there as opposed to a sharp cut-off line denoting the sylhouette it looks more natural. There are examples where the colours used have such contrast and the curves are angled so extreme that it looks very silly though. Most notorious examples being the old knights kingdoms cuirass and the even older castle corset style dress torsos. The last instance where i thought it looked bad was the lego batman movie Magpie torso.

And this torso:
https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=973pb0910c01&C=11#T=S&C=11&O={"color":11}
>>6402365

>>6402242
>If a figure has hair/hats and an accessory around the neck
They had those way back when the doors were 5 high and they worked just fine.
>>6402423
Yeah my mistake.
I checked with some of the 80's doors that twist around the top and bottom studs and you are right that they fit most tall hair pieces, hip accessories and neckbrackets. The doorpiece used in the pic you replied to has less space because of the frame being a a plate+ at the bottom and about a plate at the top.
I must say i prefer the look of the taller new doors, but i guess it all depends on the proportions of the building they're used in.

Thanks, and it really does. Hopefully 4 years from now I can look back on this year with the same fondness. Cheers to coming out of dark ages!
Btw, thanks to the anons who posted pics of the short haired space girls, I dig this way better than the blue Coffee Guy hair for my commander

Original poster here.
The far right girl is actually supposed to be Yennefer from Witcher as well, though I might take her apart to make 2B from Nier Automata.
You guys pretty much nailed the rest of em.
Chandra (Never said it had to be a video game), Bloodborne Hunter, Chloe Price from Life is Strange, Fallout, Hyper Light Drifter, and Geralt from Witcher.
I've actually never played any Dishonored games. More figs on the way.
