Where to buy second hand Shinkis:
>eBay, Amazon - generally overpriced, but you might get lucky.
>Mandarake, Rakuten - search 武装神姫 and don't trust listing images.
>Yahoo Japan Auctions, Suruga-ya - you'll need a proxy if you’re not in Japan.
>Taobao - some shops ship international now, so you might not need a proxy.
>Amiami, Jungle-scs - occasionally get some preowned.
>Check the BST threads, My Figure Collection, and Busou Shinki World too.

The what?
Any word on a paint recipe to match the original skintone (like the faceplates) using Mr Color paints?
>>6397555
The ratios should be in the instruction booklet.
>>6397578
The recipe in the manual gives a peach blush-like pink fleshtone, the result is pic related and doesn't match properly.
>>6397601
Maybe you should have painted the faceplate like that first. It certainly looks like the better color.

Methinks there is some other thing to achieve that milky skin yellow tone, aside from using white primer instead of grey.
Snibbitty snab :DDDD
>>6397907
I bought a set of files dedicated to that purpose.
>>6398172
oddly enough i don't think i've seen the bandai mecha musume girls discussed here despite being technically included in the category
they scale fairly well with FAGs too, they just look like tall FAGs
if i were to guess, it's because the faces are too distractingly bad
here's hoping the chinaguy would change that
her face doesn't seem terrible
>>6397907
definitely not the only one filing/sanding down the joint pegs. Too many fragile easy to hamhands joints that are too tight normally.
If you were refering to the nail file, nope, I been using a nail file attached to clippers for that purpose now and then if the joint peg is too hard to get at with my sanding sticks. I really need to pick up some needle files
>>6398042
>>6397535
Cross Frame was a spin off of the original Frame Arms line as well. It essentially meant mechs from an existing IP being built with an interior frame like the architect(I don't think it was an actual arcitect frame at least) and could have easy parts swapping with other Cross Frames as well as Frame Arms. Think only Broken Blade and Border Break fell under that line.
>>6398063
Archer and Ninja are stacked holy shit
>>6398267
Faces are bad, just bad. They are way too tall, FAGs are already slightly on the big side for a 1/12 figure, but the build girls are just beyond that so their compatibility with 1/12 accessories is more limited. And to make it worse, the armor is built into them, and makes it too hard to dress them up.
Now things might greatly change with the release of this un armored body but problems with this is that A) the face still looks off, the cheeks protrude too much giving a weird dimension to her mouth. B) it's not really a good generic body that can be used with the other girls, but this ties into C) There is nothing 'generic' about these girls. They are pre-existing characters from the gundam show, you can't really swap that easily between them bnecause of wildly different body builds, and it is harder to customize and make her your own personal figure when it's just Fumina, except with a new body.
Bandai seems to be beginning to understand what makes this subgenre of Plamo tick, but they are still off the mark from what they shown so far in my opinion. If they start doing a generic MS Girls line with a base body underneath the armor, then they are going to probably find a place in these generals.
>>6398310
>Faces are bad, just bad. And to make it worse, the armor is built into them, and makes it too hard to dress them up.
The new Fumina finally got a non-armoured mode, plus the Volks girls seem to be in a similar size range and what Volks presented for their future plans makes supporting them absolutely worth it.
>>6398310
They need to take it back to it's roots. Dust off that copy of Les MS Girls, and go back to the original concept of girls strapping themselves into Gundam armor.
>>6398329
I already mentioned the unarmored mode in the first line of the second paragraph.
>>6398331
Bingo. But the first AGPs were unarmored as well and they didn't do so well, so who knows how this might turn out. But I think being model kits would give them an advantage especially if they decrease the size.
>>6398310
>it's not really a good generic body that can be used with the other girls
i have to disagree with this, the unarmored mode is generic enough
the body build/proportion is not exclusive to the character
unless you're limiting yourself to girls within the line
>>6398272
>Cross Frame was
Will be?
>>6398366
>unless you're limiting yourself to girls within the line
You kinda have to at this point unless you are making custom face plates. To my knowledge she is too big to be used for other girls, and the head does not lend itself very well to making a new face.
>>6398372

No. This is not acceptable. What kind of man misses that?
A lot of people (me included) were asking in past threads what these gray prototypes were from, and just now I stumbled upon the answer.
They're some sort of crowdfunded figures, I'm guessing it's Japan-only and the prices don't seem too hot for something that looks like a custom Megami Device
https://camp-fire.jp/projects/view/25884
>>6399284

I've been considering a Fumina to try out. Her eyes are really fucking weird. Are they decals or inset adjustable eyes?
If anything, I'd probably use the Angel Axis for a kitbash, but her face without work is pretty terrifying.
>>6399824
the eyes are stickers on flat a surface inserted behind the eye sockets and non adjustable
the surface where the decals are applied are too deep inside the socket
common fix is to apply the stickers over the clear plastic meant to cover the eyes
Where i can find something to replace this one? it suddenly snap off when i try to twist Hresvelgr-chan body today ;_;
>>6399842
There is a piece of paper inside the box which you can order whatever runner you need
>>6399838
Thanks for the reply. I want to try to make her look pretty. I also think the super shiny plastic on her face looks awful. I think just dulling the fleshy parts would help, but I'm not for sure without having the kit in hand.
>>6399852
Or you can send the paper trough some middleman service.
>>6399859
But i don't know any middleman
>>6399315
Except that's wrong you dipshit. Same with the guy/s saying the Bandai Build Girls, and Fiores are in line with FAGs/MDs for size/ scale. At 18 cm, roughly 17 cm, and 16.5 cm respectively, all three of these lines tower over anything 1/12 scale, and are closer to 1/10 to 1/9 in scale. Essentially they stand closer to MG Exia in height than they do FAGs, or MDs, which are just within 1/12 and comfortably 1/12 respectively. I only didn't include Alphamax since they're a bit odd at 15.5 cm, but their demon girl theme could help them fit in 1/12 just by concept.
>>6399655
Even if the pegs and ports are 3mm, the base of the connection is going to be far larger proportionally compared to FAGs/ MDs/ Alphamax, preventing any compatibility.
>>6399842
Just do what japs do who managed to break that joint somehow. Pop out the peg, measure it with calipers, source a peg that fits the size, and then drill out the base where the peg broke and then glue in the new peg. Done. Seriously, I'm surprised people manage to break that considering it's one of the chunkiest joint in the kit, but then again a lot of people don't seem to get that sanding to soften up joints to prevent breakage is a necessity outside of Bandai kits.
>>6399875
Also, just for shits and gigs.
>>6399865
Try a search engine to find some.
Don't tell me you don't know any search engines either.

>>6399896
Sent me memehands anon.

>>6399875
Cool, thanks for the correction. I didn't feel quite autistic enough to break out a ruler so all I was thinking is that FAGs are somewhat bigger than 15cm.
This one, already try to glue it with cement but it not so good
>>6399468
>>6399328
>>6399944
>that "oh no you didn't" pose
>>6399875
the bandai girls seem to scale well enough to the FAGs
>>6399924
>I live in australia
Do you mean that they block such internet sites?
So what seam wending technique tends to give best results for the inexperienced: Extra thin cement taking advantage of capillary action, or melting runners and making that glue with ABS cement?
>>6399952
Putting them side by side really makes the Bandai one look like a bad bootleg or one of those cheap ass chinese toys that's technically not a bootleg but part of a line of original totally-not-GI-Joes.
>>6399936
Pin it
>>6398413
It's true. That's why I like Megami Device so much. Two kits released, but 4 hair styles and faces along with the GK adding another 2 hair styles, so it's like I have 6 characters!
which FAG would be good for a first buy?
I've built gundam kits in the past but not recently, but I remember them being very simple
>>6400015
i think this is bandai's sneaky way to force people to go beyond snapfitting
>>6400001
Just the extra thin should get good results
>>6399924
The problem is not where you live; middlemen live in Japan. The problem is that most middlemen aren't cheap for this sort of thing or refuse to send to Koto your sheet.
EXTRA T H I N N
>>6400082
The one you like more. Consider that not all FAGs have non-armored legs.
>>6399842
Let this be a lesson for future FAGs or Megamis, if it feels kile the fit is too tight sand it down a bit. Actually just sand it down regardless, we know all pegs are tight on those lines.
>>6400082
I'm fond of Architect and Jinrai, but just about anyone you want is fine. Note that Gourai and Stylet aren't quite as well-made as their successors in terms of their joints, so if that's a concern, stick to anything made after Materia.
https://pastebin.com/chqaNxKW
Chapter 3 introduces another tiny robot girl and gets some more exposition out of the way. Next chapter will probably be Sayuri's first camshow in her new body.
>>6400082
Stylet needs the most detail painting, I'd say Baselard probably needs the least work beyond basic snapping to look good out of box.
Innocentia has the best articulation.
>>6400250
now this is autism
>>6399936
I did something similar to mine, a paperclip as a pin and some super glue took care of the issue. I thought I'd somehow gotten paint in mine or something, didn't know others were having the same issue.
>>6399875
>sanding to soften up joints to prevent breakage is a necessity outside of Bandai kits.
I wouldn't advise doing that for every kit without putting it together first. I think potentially a big reason why Koto is guilty of this is because a lot of their kits are quite bulky. Heck There are a few occassions when I need to THICKEN a joint to keep it from sagging under the weight. Their Frame Arms, FAGs, and MDs definitely do not fall under that category though so they should definitely have some sanding done.
>>6399952
last thread someone felt some 1/12 furniture felt on the small side with his FAG. A few threads back I recall talk about some clothes that worked on shinkis not quite fitting the FAGs properly. It really is not so much about wether or not FAGs scale ok with Fumina, because I will admit they appear to scale just as well as MDs to FAGs. The issue is that FAGs are already on the large size for a 1/12 figure, any taller and you are definitely out of scale.
And yes I know MDs are technically 1/1 and FAGs 'nonscale' but it does not negate the fact they fall under a 1/12 scale when compared to everything else.
>>6400306
does this mean that shaq is out of scale?
Slightly off topic but it's for FAGs, so maybe you can help. Making a bondage room diorama, but what the hell are those triangle things you sit on called? You know, the ones that are this shape. I just wanted some reference images for them.
Also, if anyone has any suggestions for the flooring, go right ahead.
>>6400343
Shaq is clearly a 7:6 while Fallon-kun is a standard 1:1.
>>6400345
It's called a wooden horse. It was originally designed as a torture device.
For the flooring, maybe rubber?
>>6400348
Thank you, I kept trying to search for saddle. I knew it was something like that.
And I posted over on the custom thread. I have stone walls from miniatures.com and I was thinking quickrete for the floor, but even with a drain or two, I don't think I can make convincing gutters so I think it would look a little plain. Part of me was thinking tiles, but those would clash with the stone wall, so I'd need a different wall there. And stone floor/stone wall doesn't really feel right.
>>6400358
You could score in gutters using a file or using a plastic knife while the quickrete was drying.
>>6400343
honestly I do, as a fellow tall(not nearly Shaq height though) person who has issues looking for clothes, we are 'out of scale'.
>>6400083
Nope. Bandai just wants to sell things. And I can't believe the "let's do a shitty model so people will buy more markers!".
>>6400378
Maybe... I might go with quickrete and just hope the furniture doesn't make it look too boring. I've had the project on the back burner for weeks now, but I just got re-inspired since I saw the electric chair just came back in stock on miniaturesmarketplace.
>>6400409
Add a rug or two if you think the floor needs more to it. Shouldn't be too hard to make one out of some scrap cloth and thread.
>>6400149
I know what you mean man
I just started dry-fitting my Baselard and preparing for seamwelding today, and I spent the most time filing pegs and sockets, particularly for the ankles and shoulders. Too tight, it was gonna risk a break, but I ended up grinding the insides of the o-shaped slot rings instead of the pegs, because I had the tools and because sanding the pegs had a lot of obstructions.
>>6400296
True.
Though for Baselard's shoulder ball socket, I had no success trimming in a polycap for the diameter, so I trimmed away the tiny tab inside the chest that keeps the ball in.
Now I can pop in and out the shoulder ball joints for painting, then I can tighten the insides with Future and CA glue.
>>6400345
A bondage dungeon clearly needs a stone floor.
>>6400306
It seems to be a crapshoot. The folding chairs and scooter I got were a bit small, while the couch I just got, seems to be just right. Gonna take some experimentation.
>>6400843
My shot in the dark guess is that 1/12 scale toys and toy accessories tend to be a bit looser while 1/12 scale furniture that you buy from dollhouse and miniature stores is spot on.
I got those Hasegawa folding chair and school desk model kits as well and they're clearly designed for Figma's smaller side 1/12 while everything I've gotten from miniatures.com is designed for the larger 1/12 of shinkis and MD. Hell, I have Howling in the large dog cage they sell right now.
Just back from AX, no luck at Kotobukiya booth. Was expecting Megami Devices real colors and god nippers, non was wad. They did have plenty of FAGs, but looked to be sold out of Innocentia.
>>6400901
Yeah I was there too. Disappointed at the complete lack of not only Megami Devices, but actual Frame Arms as well. The only MSGs they had were the propellant tanks. They did have that workshop where Nobuo helped people build MSGs and then take pictures with them, and that was fun, but I don't know if that's happening again.
At least they gave me a free MSG with my purchase of a Gourai... But why can't I buy more?
>>6400953
I got there after the build workshop was over but I think they'll have it every day. It's from1:00-2:00.

How does brush painting compare to airbrush?
>>6401167
airbrushing is a more even coat, with a brush unless you have godlike skills you'll leave brushstrokes behind
>>6401167
Easier to start due to cost, much more difficult to get comparable results.
>>6401167
i hated airbrush tools cleaning afterwards but the results are worth it after you get used to them
Tried applying make up on FAG. How does it look?
>>6401216
I would've gone more subtle. When it comes to blush I'm a fan of a really light touch. That goes for the bit of shine you added to, though the handiwork actually looks pretty good.
>>6401089
I imagine the prices are the same as you'd find online or even worse? Those Godhands are ~20 dollars more expensive than on Amazon including shipping.
>>6401252
just about the same, the guy was asking for $80 with tax each.
i do have amazon prime though so i could probably get them cheaper somewhere but people steal mails around my neighborhood
>>6401167
Brush painting is cheaper, but you pay for it with an interest rate of roughly 200% in terms of time invested.
It's one hour downtime between every coat vs maybe half a minute if you're being really careful.
>>6400858
>Hell, I have Howling in the large dog cage they sell right now.
Is she here to protect here from the squirrels or are you speciesist?
>>6400358
As I said in a previous thread, that bitish line of 1/12 B-movie horror scenarios is being re-issued by the Japanese. You might want to look those up for inspiration.
Concerning using actual screed on a scale model - yes, you won't get away with not aging it up, adding water effects, dirt, dust ect.
>>6401378
I just like bullying tiny robot girls.
>>6401410
Yeah, I think weathered quickrete is going to be the best
Reporting from AX, just finished the Koto workshop.
Was able to talk to one of the Koto Japan guys. Told him us fans wished KotoUS did more for FAG. Also asked about the Shinki protos and he said they would have an announcement soon.
Byakko yet?
>>6401455
That's a very nice cage.
>>6401894
Glad it's not "can't comment on that right now" which would mean they were dead in the water. If they say they have announcements to make they're still hoping to release it.
Also thank you for socking it to KotoUS. Useless fucks.
>>6401913
My gut feeling tells me the licensing got held up by the blank body releases with the BD.

Thank you. I'm waiting on a shipment now so I'm stalled out there for a few days at least. I also have some amputation stumps in the making.
>>6403377
>I also have some amputation stumps in the making.
I'm on board with dungeons but that's too much for me.
>>6403377
How do you make the stumps?
>>6403352
I'm not even into BDSM, but this is neato
>>6403418
It's a first attempt, so I'm not sure how they're going to come out, but it seems as simple as taking the arm off at the mid-upper arm joint and then slapping a lump of apoxie on there. It'll take a bit of shaping and painting of course. I've always found those little doilies you put over amputation stumps to be adorable so I think I'm going to try making some of those too.
Primarily for shinks, but they're simple enough that I'm going to try FAGs and MD too.
When it comes to painting FAGs, is there a big difference when compared to painting Gunpla or other mecha model kits?
>>6403489
Washing is necessary (and it isn't with Gunpla despite what a few autists may claim)
>>6403352
I see Planelegs is outsourcing his tiny robot girl abuse now.
>>6403491
it is still a good habit to have though. tripped myself up once by not doing it for gunpla, then forgot with the next kit which was not gunpla and had to redo the paint.
Finaly after having my FAGs for 2 years on the box and killing gunplas trying to get gud before build them, decided to sell them to a better anon.
So after checking prices why the weapon set 1 is so expensive and how much should ask for it?
>>6403619
>So after checking prices why the weapon set 1 is so expensive and how much should ask for it?
Expensive because only one run was made. Charge $30 for a reasonable price considering the market.
>>6403619
>2 years
Shitfuck, has it been that long already?
>>6403631
Gourai was released on May 2015

>>6403491
Why?
>>6403711
Is there a set release date yet?
>>6403733
July 19
Man, the unarmored Gourai and Stylet that come with the BDs are cute and all, but I just don't have it in me to pay $100+ each for two Innocentia recolors with architect's torso.
>>6403668
>Bandai (and damn nearly everyone else who does plamo) makes use of mold release agents to get the trees off easily and to prevent sags during removal. There's about 20% chance that some of that residue will remain on the parts so washing is a requirement; that percentage jacks up to 60% for older models. Considering how you used lacquer primer, it should've dried out very fast (I use Alclad 2 mostly, but rule applies to all lacquer based primers/paints). if you don't wash off the mold release agent, there's the chance that the Tamiya tape will yoink out the paint and primer (sometimes the primer just comes off in sheets).
>>6403762
so you wont see some shit like this
>>6403762
I never knew this was a thing. Glad I never got around to painting any of my models. Doesn't seem to be an issue for simple panel lining, though, I've done that without much trouble.
>>6403762
Whether there's still mould release doesn't even really matter because by the time you've finished assembly, the pieces will have sanding dust and oil from your hands and need to be washed before painting anyway.
anime expo almost done! time to build my girls
>>6403770
yeah youre right.
its still a good info
>>6403772

>>6403352
This is both hilarious and horrifying.
Master showed me this picture he took at Anime Expo today. It proves that I, Stylet, am the best FAG! That's what Master calls me and everyone else agrees! I sold out before any of the other girls, which means everyone likes me best!
Well, aside from Innocentia... B-But she wasn't even in the anime so she doesn't count!
>>6403668
Bandai's Gundam model kits, despite what autists claim, do not have residue, so they don't need washing. They're fucking pre-washed. It's part of the fucking sell, that children can paint them immediately with Gundam markers and spraypaints.
Conventional model kits are NOT pre-washed which means release agents are still on (touch a flat surface on a Kotobukiya kit and you can feel a distinct waxiness to it; That's the release agent). With that shit on, surfacer/primer and paints will NOT stick to the plastic, so you need to wash them first.
>>6403975
>yfw sales in the US drop because people who bought stylet think all the kits are that shitty
How many layer can I paint a part? I fucked up Jinrai's hair, can I prime it and paint again?
>>6404069
Doesn't really matter if it's not a part that frequently rubs against others like joints. You can strip the paint by soaking it in thinner a bit if you want though.
>>6404053
>>6404080
Seriously though Stylet is THE worst kit, all the same problems of Gourai with the added bonus of painting necessary and fragile hair.
>>6404081
Why is it so important to paint her?
>>6404082
A lot of her armor benefits greatly from being painted, most other FAGs only barely benefit from it
>>6404082
Worst colour separation of all the kits.
>>6403641
Time fucking flies, doesnt it?.
>>6404053
She needa a new kit ASAP.
>>6404134
Stylet KAI/ Renewal Stylet when
I prefer ears pointing forward
>>6404053
>was checking Amazon
>Stylet one of the few FAGs with Amazon Prime sellers
>only 6 ratings, all high stars
>This was enough to make her 'Amazon's Choice' for Frame Arms Girl search results.
Those poor deluded bastards
>>6404082
combined with the fact she has Gourai's old outdated body engineering, like the others said, bad color separation. What is funny to me is that Kotobukiya had already released updated versions of several older Frame Arms because they suffered from this EXACT problem, this includes the very original Stylet and a couple of the Stylet variants. So it's odd they would do this again.
>>6404134
She needs replacing and fast.
>>6404043
you should still wash those bandai kits regardless. Your fingers have oils and you probably did some sanding so that all needs to be washed off.
>>6404179
I can't wait for Renewal versions of all the Humida FAGs.
>>6404179
Those areas are just way too small for me to paint. I wonder what should I do with her.
How do you wash parts? Just throw the runner into a bowl of water?
>>6404143
>tfw totally forgot about snipper Sylphy and Chrom in my backlog
I am a bad mastah..
>>6404193
A bowl of soap water. Then brush them with a toothbrush or something.
>>6404193
That shit is surprisingly resilient, soaking and rinsing with water is not enough. Soap (usually dishwashing soap but body soap is fine too) is recommended, as is going over the runner directly with a sponge or toothbrush.
>>6404190
The markings have decals, all you actually need are black and white Gundam markers.
>>6404224
>>6404229
For the record, Stylet can be very rewarding to paint.
She's not very posable, a bit rigid, and an occasional masking nightmare, but I was very satisfied with the results.
>>6404246
Wash the runners, build the kit, use black and white markers to paint the black and white parts (leave everything else as it is), apply decals, then spray a topcoat.
>>6404265
>She's not very posable, a bit rigid,
yep
>>6404081
What are the problem points of the Stylet kit that :
1. need to be fixed or redone with mods
2. need the Innocentia body parts to fix
That said I wonder if getting FAG Greifen down the line is better than the idea of getting an MD/other FAG and using the normal Greifen's body parts on it.
>>6404272
Which topcoat would fit well for her?
>>6404324
Any matte but I personally swear by My Hobby's Premium.
>>6404324
I use Mr Ultra Clear (UV protected), more expensive but also protects from strong sunlight and fluro lights.

>>6403770
Personally, I usually cut out and sand all the pieces first before washing (I put them all in a net and wash them together), before assembly and painting.
>>6404344
>This marker set?
You can get them individually too but yeah, that would do fine.
Gundam Real Touch Markers (completely different from these) are also good for panel lining. They also make actual panel lining markers but those suck.
Wait. This is not black. Why don't they have something so basic in this set?
>>6404356
Are you asking why an "advanced set" doesn't have "basics" in it?
>>6404356
Whoops yeah, probably just better to get them separately.
>>6404231
Someone should make a kit like this for regular FAGs.
>>6404265
>Galaxy Fraulein Yuna
I thought I was the only one. Out of the figures I actually display, she's the longest I've owned, believe it or not. Had mine about ten years now.
>>6404293
The only structural problem I had with Stykko is that her chin guard isn't shaped right. It doesn't sit properly with the bangs and mine broke from the stress of being squeezed there. Literally snapped just from display x too long.
Other than that the kit is fine. It just needs A LOT of paint everywhere.
Neat, I just snagged a shinki cradle for 20 burgers off eBay. Now I can feel better about disassembling and fucking around with my other one to try and make customs.
>>6404381
Yeah, I guess it's been about 10 years now. Yuna forever. Once you get -befriended-, you never go back.
One of these days, I'll go back and finish Lightning Angel.
I'm hoping that all this talk of MS Girls coming back into the spotlight will mean a return to Mika Akitaka and the original Les MS Shoujo.
Yuna can't be far behind in that case.
>>6404497
I'd love it if they brought back Yuna, so many good designs there, but I just don't see it happening. It's been 20 years since the last game that wasn't a port or collection. I'm guessing at this point most people have never heard of Yuna, even in Japan.
I could see the MS shoujo designs making a comeback at some point, though. If only because designs based on first Gundam stuff always seems to be popular.
>>6404265
I like that blue on hamburger.
Did you paint her flesh or is that just plastic?
>>6404080
Perfect for bullying, etc.
>>6404179
That kind of difference feels like the difference between the test shots and actual OOB results of the Super Fumina but with even worse plastic
>>6404657
>bringing back Yuna
I have bad news for you.
Yuna is owned by Hudson Soft, which was bought out by Konami sometime in the 2000s.
And Konami...
>Hudson Soft ceased to exist as a company on March 1, 2012 and was merged with Konami Digital Entertainment. Products and services will continue to be provided under the Hudson brand through Konami.
>>6404747
RIP Yuna. No way I'm wishing on the Konami-brand monkey's paw again. I don't need to see a mecha musume pachinko machine that badly.
>>6404657
I guess I'd rather the series be finished rather than have it suffer through what Valis did.
>>6404664
All three are top-coated, but the skin is unpainted.
>>6404747
Fuck.
>>6404875
Did you paint the Jinrais?
>>6404875
>I guess I'd rather the series be finished rather than have it suffer through what Valis did.
That's truly the worst. I honestly can't think of a worse outcome. It's pretty bad when you can say, "Hey, fuck Konami, but at least they're not Telenet."
>Valis
>Telenet
Can you enlighten me on what happened?
>>6404925
Valis, as you may or may not know, was a chesecake-y but otherwise wholesome fantasy series where girls in metal bikinis fought evil in a fantasy world. The series died off and was forgotten after the fourth game came out on the SNES/PC Engine. Then just in time for the 20th anniversary of the series, a new entry came out. And it turned out they gave the license to a eroge company. Thus the venerable platformer series became a VN where the MC and all her friends are literally raped by various monsters.
Very few other companies can say they celebrated their most successful franchise's 20th anniversary by quite literally raping the series. Capcom and Konami only wish they were so brazen.
>>6404933
>literally raping the series
Fuck I lol'd
Also, can you guys think of any clever uses for runners aside from repairing broken parts?
>>6404941
>>6404949
That's badass, especially considering how much of a pain it would have been to put together
>>6404941
Well apparently you can melt them for detailing stuff.
http://www.gundamkitscollection.com/2015/03/tutorial-melting-gunpla-runner-pieces.html
Or you can go all the way and make a human sized model.
>>6404886
Yep.
Red did not come out like I'd hoped, but that's what you get when you don't test your paints on a runner or spoon beforehand. I like to think I salvaged them both.
Jinrai Red still has some problems with her hip joints (all of them) but she poses well enough.
>>6404933
Valis was always a little porny, but cleaned up for the console releases.
Looks like the pent up stress of having to censor their brilliant original idea of demons having their way with bikini-clad warrior types just overcame them, and they could no longer hold back. It couldn't be helped. Or something.
>>6405060
Did you paint their hair too?I can't get Jinrai's hair color right.
>>6404933
>And it turned out they gave the license to a eroge company
At least it can provide some fap material for those into rape fantasies. I rented Super Valis a friday night in 1996 in preparation for a storm and took about three minutes to bore me to tears, turned off the console and swore i would shit talk it whenever someone raised the topic, this is the first and only time in 21 years.
>>6405079
Red Jinrai's hair is painted, Indigo is not.
Neither of them have painted skin, save that I painted a ninja mask on Indigo.
I'm still looking for some decent transfers for the bikes.
>>6405135
Valis IV and Super Valis IV are not even close to being the same game, and it did not benefit from the transition from PCE to SNES.
They dropped 2 playable characters and a whole pile of stages. The ones they kept were completely changed.
Though it must be said that Super had better play control.
>Jinrai's VA is REALLY getting into FAG huh.

>>6405337
The left peg on Jinrai Red's hip structure broke off while I was assembling it. I thought it wouldn't be fixable, but some pinning and super-glue got it working again. It won't slide up and down anymore, so her articulation is not what it could be. But she can still hold a pose well enough.
And she's so darn cute!
The joint that connects the hips to the waist remains loose. I'm still trying to figure out a solution for that.
>>6405428
