Kids today don't know about mail-order loose-leaf notebooks as prizes for collecting enough Kool-aid points.
Or iron-on patches. Or plastic kites. Or erasers. No period of time was as branded as the 80's, and the only reason kids today are growing up with brands as surrogates for identity is because their parents grew up in an era that promoted brands as culture.

They're not going to make a TR Rewind or Real Blue Frenzy it seems.

This means they've been pushed towards the next line because all Leader Figures can transform without the headmaster gimmick, hope u like Twincast and Soundblaster.

No, seriously. There's a dozen crossed-out Decepticon emblems and the Mercedes logo, but there's no Autobot insignia painted on him.

Anyone mind helping me identify a transformers toy i used to have as a kid?

It was from 2005-2008 give or take a couple years, almost completely purple, triangularish in shape, and i think it was some kind of ship that i thought was a submarine but probably wasn't.

Those digibashes I thought some 8 year old made. It turns out they're from the "official" botcon exclusives planning slides.

after more than 7 years of turning out garbage they double pinky plus cootie swaer that they were going to turn out all these high quality exclusives. The Fucking Tigertron from the Combiner Wars mold had the entire back of the head cutoff because they couldn't be bothered to make a full on new head for the figure and halfassed it.

And if you want to make a fucking action masters megatron, use the voyager mold, not only does it turn into a tank just like the original the jet mode can be fully replicated as well. Instead they use fucking six shot with a shrunken head feature.

Rest in Piss Botcon you fucks would have charged 800 dollars for the base set and then another 900 for all the extra, literally worse than Ubisoft.

Hasbro is already regularly delivering nitche characters at regular figure pricing. Fucking Metalhawk is getting a real toy compared to your exclusive bullsghit where you charge 90 dollars for a single fucking deluxe.
>>
>>6390917
given the size, replacements should be metal or hinge-swivel PLUS ratchet
>>
>>6390931
the gears on the right are all bent from regular play since you can accidentally break them by turning the leg in reverse under normal pressure.
>>
>>6390931
The spring for Trypticon is too strong, so that teal bit is deformed since it does not get pushed back like it should when you turn the leg, instead it deforms while moving (the piece that deforms it is the one in the middle).
>>

>>6390936

>>
>>6390933
>they use fucking six shot with a shrunken head feature

It's pretty obvious they only used that head since this is a mock up, and would have gotten a new head, along with Gutcruncher.
>>
>>6390933
True.
It's hilarious how gullible idiots from tfw fall for something this obvious.
>>
>>6390943
Yeah it's a mockup.
The real head would be half the size with a stupidly deformed face.
>>
I remember the Botcon machine Wars Set

Machine Wars had 12 figures, 8 deluxes consisting of 4 molds, two voyager sized ones, and two leader ones. They somehow made the over priced exclusives look worse than the originals who were themselves gutted versions of European exclusives and prototype flipchanger molds.

I bought the entire line of Machine Wars complete for far far cheaper than what they charged for the exclusives.
>>
>>6390862
>Shattered Ass
I'd rather Artemis Prime.
>>
>>6390857
The plot was not coherent in the scope of the other films. This title was the worst offender for retconning shit for the sake of it's own new conflicts and characters.
>>
>>6390943
>>6390945
The head would likely stay the same since the Galvatron headmaster turns into a mini Megatron.
>>
>>6390619
That's because the red cross logo that was suppose to be on his helmet had an Autobot symbol in the center. Now we got no red cross logo, so no Autobot insignia for Hound.
>>
>>6390917
I'd say 2016-2017 can go down in history as the official year when official toys became worse than dollar store KOs.
>>
>>6390904
What you describe is literally a lie. Hypocrisy is "a pretense of having some desirable or publicly approved attitude." Therefore, pretending to be a SJW and then supporting opposite beliefs when he wants a toy or other benefits makes him a hypocrite.
>>
>>6390999
It amazes me that this isn't considered different enough from the standard red cross to be okay.

Just bought these two cute little beasties for 10€, what am I in for? I've been wanting to get into Beast Wars and always had a thing for fast transforming figures with surprisingly good articulation and aesthetics, will this be a good introduction to the early days of the toyline?

Also, the same guy is selling a bunch of MIB 10th anniversary re-releases for 70€, should I pick them up down the road to start off a nice Beast Wars shelf in my collection?

The spring is too stong, just replace it or cut a bit from the factory one, we don't know how common this issue is yet.
>>
Watching the movie, I'm a bit disappointed nothing came up with the Sparks Lockdown stole in AOE.
>>
>>6390603
It fit Blaster because it's practically a soundstage and dance floor, which suits Mr. RockNRoll Robot fine.

Redoing the mold as Soundwave was stupid. Yes I understand the need to reuse every mold at least once to get back the costs, but the attempt at making the boombox mode look right was horrid, and the music stage looking 'base' mode doesn't work like it does for Blaster.
>>
>>6391029
One problem with that, no one's sure how much you need to cut. I hope someone does it so I don't have to experiment.

>we don't know how common this issue is yet.

Auto transforms, chubby altmodes, and a huge dose of classic aesthetic.

Still some of my favorite figures ever. Articulation still holds up today. They are like the missing link between G2 and Beast Wars with they're beast and bot aesthetic looking like robots wearing furs rather than having guts and shit poking out everywhere. Both are great, but it makes those two special.

Word of warning anniversary Dino bot is just as gps prone as BWN Randy or G2. Slingshot it's an accident waiting to happen. It makes beast wars grimlock look sturdy in comparison since all of Dinobots plastic is extremely fragile
>>
>>6391068
Slingshot is going to be a disaster, since his Combiner joint will literally burst right out of the body.
>>
>>6391041
>They are like the missing link between G2 and Beast Wars
Oh my, never though I'd be so hyped for two relatively basic figures. Beast Wars is a series that has flown for way too long under my radar, I better start getting a collection focus on that shit.

>>6391068
>Word of warning anniversary Dino bot is just as gps prone as BWN Randy or G2.
Goddamnit, that sucks since Dinobot is one of the six included in the 70€ lot. He looks really cool in that color scheme but I'm watching a review right now and holy fuck, the squeaky sounds that gold plastic makes are genuinely terrifying. Hopefully it will be at the very least transformable into robot for the sake of display?
>>
>>6391019

You'd think in a Velocitron box set there would be someone from Velocitron.
>>
>>6391068
I was checking some of my old plastic gen beyblade collection and noticed that Hasbro used grey plastic with fine glitter painted silver to get silver pieces in the later releases.
No idea if mustard/yellow plastic would react badly to glitter but it would've helped to try back then instead of condemning figures like Torca, Dinobot, Soundwave, and Grimlock to a future of breaking.

Regardless, when it comes to KOs I'd wait for reviews first. Even Weijiang's 1st Hound turned out to be really bad.
>>
>>6391039
Can you give us an articulation breakdown? Someone last thread said there's no thigh swivel, but I think that's a load. Is it just limited? Also how does the wheel foot work? Is there anything to lock it into place?

>>6391204
Most things it's easier to order even if it's mainline stuff. But I still like to stop and look to see if anything new is out but that's always a waste of time and money. Then sometimes I feel the need to get something just to have something new to play with.
>>
Kind of silly, but I bought the Jada 1:24 scale metal Bumblebee camaro.

It's nice. Real hefty. I've never bought diecast cars before, but this is a pretty neat thing for 20 bucks.
>>
>>6391210
No word yet but I'm guessing pretty soon. This isn't like official toys where we see the toys a year before it hits the shelves.

I think it's fine to get TLK Megs though. The big one's going to take a lot more effort to transform for sure, and I kinda feel one of the biggest draws to this mold is the transformation. So a voyager sized one will be a lot more fun. The wrists don't really bother me that much.

I think I saw V Megs in stock on HTS, but I don't want to pay 29.99+shipping for it.
>>
>>6391218
How big is 1:24? Voyager/Human Alliance?

Just to have some color variation on my shelves.
>>
>>6391225
And I did, you bastard. It's on its way to me right now. I'm not really a fan of those flat decals on the legs and feet, but they're better than stickers. I wish he had the foot and leg molding of Grapple instead. I've been really wanting to play around with that awesome ladder transformation and Artfire is a much better option than Inferno. Although I may still pick up Grapple at some later date.
>>
>>6391242
>I wish he had the foot and leg molding of Grapple instead.
I wish the MP line wasn't so autistically cartoon accurate right now, because otherwise the leg-molding would have included the detail of the toy, which easily the nicest option.

Apart from that, Grapple/Artfire is the best combo to own. Both gorgeous, and they're suprisingly unique to each other.
>>
>>6391237
>either Grapple or Hauler.
Look, your opinion is not wrong, but there's something about the fire truck version of this mold that makes it more satisfying. It was clearly designed with the firetruck in mind first. The hydraulic lift version is cool, but it's a lot more clumsy and less satisfying to transform.

Also, Nightstick is fucking awesome.

Not many people seem to realize this about the mold, but those stabilizers can actually extend to touch the ground.

I'm not even sure if this is on the instructions sheet, I only noticed myself when my Artfire came with one stabilizer extended slight in the package.

I like Grapple's legs better, but I wish they had the toy sculpted detail instead.

Fuck no. MP Inferno's shins are bare as fuck and need some detail. I certainly wouldn't classify the shin detail on the original G1 Inferno as "needless detail". Kill yourself, Geewunner.

Takara has almost always been about show accuracy, dating as far back as Beast Wars, with subsequent releases being more and more accurate and culminating in Masterpiece being the near 100% cartoon accurate releases they are now. I doubt this will change.
>>
>>6391350
I know, and it's such a shame.
>>
>>6391350
>Takara has almost always been about show accuracy
Stop with this bullshit. MP releases up until the most recent have always included toy-accurate details and otherwise for almost every character where applicable. It's only been the last few MP figures that have been strictly cartoon accurate to a fault, to the point where they include details (or lack thereof) where the G1 toys or otherwise were entirely superior.

>>6391348
I definitely agree, but I think Artfire is still amazing, given the current restrictions of the MP line.
>>
>>6391360
Support the Diaclone line then.
>>
>>6391365
Masterpiece line stopped caring about toy details with MP10.
>>
>>6391365
I'm not exclusively talking about Masterpiece. And honestly, toy accuracy is overrated and not needed. We already had toys with toy details, now we finally have a line for cartoon details and it's finally hit its stride in that aspect.

Stay salty tho
>>
>>6391365
That's not true, Takara has nearly always aimed for show accuracy after the g1 line. The difference is that show accuracy for MP has recently turned into mimicking literal frames of animations.
>>
>>6391370
Fuck off. MP-11 and up have plenty of toy accurate details. Hell, the amount of non-cartoon accurate details on MP-20 were enough to make geewunners cry.

>>6391371
But the cartoon sucks. I hate how this fandom is split between 30-somethings with no taste and people who like good toys.

The legs aren't actually meant to turn in reverse. They rotate forwards for transformation, and I guess you have to bring them full circle if you want them repositioned in his dinosaur mode.

But yeah, taking the springs out and packing in paper to create surface tension is one quick fix I saw for it in a video review.

pretty good.

though you have to be very careful when playing with it, the toy is very fragile.

word of advice; when putting together the doors & roof kibbles in the backpack don't push too hard, NEVER EVER remove the door kibbles from the back if not necessary. It will make a crack on the tabs for the door kibbles.

also, if the front grills/bumpers feel tight when you shut it in vehicle mode you better sand down the upper tabs on the grills so the friction wouldn't cause a crack on the bumpers.

At least with beast wars the show has unerringly consistent models. You could still say you want realistic animals because of the toys, but at least using the show as your only reference you won't have people fighting over their 20 different interpretations of the design.

Ah yes, the dreaded ratchet issue, like the video one youtuber uploaded mentioning moving them backwards can cause damage to...

But I've had him for 4 days and I never found a need to make him do anything other than peck at the ground like a bird or stand straight up for maximum height, yeah I see kids breaking it but even if that ratchet was made out of metal it'll get fucked over.

Should of made a better measure to prevent people from turning those legs that far, I can tell there was a stop there because the legs move rather freely one way but gives up on the other but there is too much "give", tempting you to challenge them.

I'm just glad I literally have bigger problems to deal with

So how in demand is that Black primitive Skateboarding Optimus Prime going to be? I know you could get fort max and the 3 pack relatively easy for months after SDCC. It's just I really like the PMOP/Ultra Magnus mold and want to get every version of it.

I eventually hope it gets repaitned and retooled into Thunderclash because it's just perfect for him.

>>
>>6392388
I don't really hate the Takara heads. I just prefer the Hasbro ones on most of them. Hasbro has been doing amazing head sculpts lately. They take the most iconic bits of a bot's face and update it all so it looks fresh and stylized, but still evokes the character without having to be identical to shitty old animation.
>>
>>6392410
I don't mind old designs but the human-faced headmaster guys were just ugly.

I actually liked the anime accurate faces a lot honestly. I never even saw the show they're based on I just think they look neat.

Remeber Takaras poll asking what reissue fans want? we got the runners: LG07 Jetfire, LG12 Windblade, LG13 Megatron, LG14 Ultra Magnus, and LG31 Fortress Maximus.

>No Metroplex, Blurr or Scourge.

>>6392454
Both RiDs kinda make it work.

The newer RiD is Bumblebee, Grimlock and Sideswipe at the front. Only Strongarm is a "who" among the main four. I would hardly say that counts.

Can you give an articulation breakdown on the figures? Does Hound Have thigh swivels? How solid are his feet? Does Megatron's hip kibble get in the way of his legs?

I'm starting to think UW Strafe is starting to be one of my favorite deluxes. He's a just stylish looking guy in all modes and has nice articulation. Also you can swing his backpack underneath his arms to give him armada Megatron-esque armpit canons.

If I had to choose between Triggerhappy, Topspin, or Kup, which should I get?

I mean naturally I'll probably get them all but like, priority-wise, which one is the better one to have?
>>
>>6392654
I'd go Kup. He's pretty solid all around.
Triggerhappy has a brilliant transformation but the bot mode is a little limited.
Not a fan of Topspin personally.
>>
>>6392663
I should add that I'm not really sure what Topspin's like, I just didn't get him because I didn't care much for his aesthetic. People seem to be recommending him a lot though.

Still, I'd go with Kup.
>>
>>6392654

>>6392654
Triggerhappy, Topskin, Kup.
>>

>>>/m/15642821
>>
>>6392654
Triggerhappy is my favorite out of those three but Topspin is probably going to be harder to find in the near future and it's still a pretty kick-ass mold either way, so that would be my favorite. Kup is a pretty solid figure and you should also probably get it down the road but IMHO, the original Generations version is still the best modernized Kup.

>>6392702
>>6392667
>>6392663
Alright, I'm leaning toward Triggerhappy. His vehicle mode looks really solid but his arms in his robot mode look a little lanky. Anyone have any problems with loose joints? I've run into a bit of that with the figures with big limbs like that.
>>
>>6392785
Upon closer inspection I think it's the guns he's holding in the pictures throwing me off. I guess the proportions are relatively equal. Nevermind.
>>
>>6392785
>>6392789
I haven't heard of any widespread looseness issues on Triggerhappy, no.
>>
As a noob to the entire franchise (g1 was my first exposure to Transformers, and I began watching it to it's entirety back in January) some of the terminologies and acronyms I see tossed around kinda confuses and intimidated me.

I mainly been getting TR figures, avoiding the headmaster ones for some reason. What's up with the same figure apparently being made by different companies? Or am I reading things wrong?

And "redeco," what is that? Like, a figure that recycles most/all of a previous figure's mold?
>>
>>6393147
>What's up with the same figure apparently being made by different companies?
They make the figures together, but the Japanese market works differently so Takara (Japanese company) often adjust their figures to it.
