If I recall correctly, Biollante actually didn't sell that well. She was too expensive with the combination of her enormity and light-up effects. Space G might have been slow to leave shelves as well, I'm not sure.

Most likely we will get repaints of both in time though. The current trend of the line seems to be a full cast of Heisei repaints with new sculpts interspersed.

Tbh the head looks fine if you poen the mouth a little, but the teeth are a bit too small, neca has a somewhat nicer paintjob, but the sculpt is really bad, not to mention the mouth.

Honestly, it was controversial due to the quality control getting out of hand. It was truly a gamble buying it, because you could either get one that was hardly passable or that objectively needed to be repainted or touched up heavily.

Beyond random paint application, the sculpt is wonderful albeit not 100% accurate, but $20/Neca enthusiasts will over critique and put down anything in the SHMA line to validate their budget in this hobby.

There was another dealer who slashed the price of the Revoltech Gyaos and Gamera. Someone snatched them up mid-Saturday. Forms 1, 2 and 3 look pretty neat but of course aren't in scale with each other. The fourth is pure garbage, both your pic and the regular version. Sculpt and paintjob are shit compared to the other figures, at least it's somewhat in scale with the previous G14 HG.

I have the repaint version and enjoy it. Not poseable or anything, but with the SHMA an expensive gamble and the NECA cheap and innacurate, it's a great middle ground choice. Can't really help you as far as scale goes, but if you want I can snap a pic with some NECA/SHMA/whatever to give you an idea.

No problem mate, I'm a sucker for prize figures and bought it too as it seems like a budget option for the Sakai vinyl by Banpresto.
I have to say it's quite big, like 10 inches long if I recall correctly, the tail is really large in comparison with the body and comes unassembled in two segments.
Overall sculpt for the body is good, it has some nice detail on those folds of skin but that's pretty much it, the big spines on his back are very simple and the head looks off because the teeth are in relief; those parts lack a lot of detail, even for a prize figure.
In the end I didn't like it much and don't think it was worth the 2kyen I paid for it so I sold it.

While I agree that the general paint on the figures is the same, the quality does vary from figure to figure unfortunately. For example my original release shin goji looks considerably better that the ones I've seen reviews of. Decent paint on the teeth, eyes in a good orientation not all googly, and red neck is nearly non existent on mine. And i too have seen figures of awkng ver that have better paint on the teeth than yours

Compare the figure to how it looked in the movie for example, the way SHMA applied paint and color is all wrong. Shin wasn't a glossy black, his red and purple colors weren't smeared all over him like a bad-wash. It peeked through the crevices and rolls of his body. Even NECA got that part right if not the sculpt.

The red on mine is applied so poorly and haphazardly that it locked up most of the arm joints and is INSIDE the ball sockets for the torso and tail. Like, yeah, it's within the lines and folds, but it's in everything else too.

I think the issue is that it's a smaller scale figure, so having it glossy makes it harder to see the sculpt's texture. Makes him look more smooth out, I guess?

Elmer's glue. Basic kind, just use it to fill the socket some to thicken that up. Let it dry and pop it back on. It'll give it more friction without causing permanent damage.

Mine does this too. Well, two of them. The one at the base and the one at the end. The torso joint was bobble head level of wobbly and his head joint is also really shitty. My other two NECA Godzillas are perfect other than a hand that always falls off on one, so it's real surprising. The joints on my Shin were either loose or stuck with paint. I don't know what happened there.

I wouldn't use Elmer's glue. I have a bottle of gorilla glue with a brush applicator that I use to thicken up the ball and socket. You can use floor polish (pledge with future shine is what most recommend, but I'm not sure if the bottle actually says that anymore), or really anything you can to build up layers and fricition in the socket. Just don't actually glue the joint shut.

For the torso joint on mine I fixed it by just putting some toilet paper in the socket which might work on the tail if you wanna try something easy that won't permanently affect your figure.
