Go look up the motion comics that came out around the time of the 2009 game. It has a disjointed timeline, much like what you see from some movies and other games. Mad Max and the Legend of Zelda have similar setups like this. No one has yet to confirm the current Wolfenstein games are a hard reboot, show me some evidence that they are if you're so sure.
