Man I've been doing that for the past 3 weeks.

Pity, too, it's the only clone I've seen that's on par with lego quality.

I think these are Best-Lock, but they're a knockoff of Woma minifigs, which are a knockoff of a different brand I can't remember.

newfag to these threads, as i stopped playing with lego a long time ago (just a fact, not saying that in a derogatory way). but god damn thats the closest thing to a mechwarrior mech i could get. wish i could build something like that.
>>6361494
>could, is there one that diameter that is flatter? I mean, the outside is more flush?
hmm
You could use liftarms to add a bit more detail. There's also this 'technic disk' piece that looks like it could work.

Hello /lg/, today, I may have possibly made the greatest garage sale purchase in my life. In the back of some lady's garages were four gallon bags of grey legos. I asked her how much she would sell them for, and she responded $5. I brought them home and my hunch was correct, it was a Lego Starwars Star Destroyer 10030. I feel almost terrible for taking it from her, but she should have known better.
My question is, if I have the complete destroyer in good condition, but no box, instructions, plaque, or rebel cruiser, how much could I sell my kit for?
currently having a blast building this bitch.
literally everywhere is sold out on the saturn v
i haven't seen a set hook normies this hard in years
>>6361775
Congratulations! Really great find. A pity tough that it's incomplete, especially the plaque and instructions, which I know that UCS collectors really find important.
As for how much you'll get, well a hell of a lot more than 5 bucks lol. I looked on Bricklink, and used, complete ones goes for around 900 bucks on average. So it's up to the buyer, really, but I don't think you would get less than, say, 500-600.

I'm not a build genius but I think mixel joints could help with Ur build as they are smaller and thus you can create more intricate connections. My guess is to look into those and expand the size of Ur moc a bit in order to incorporate more detail and functionality for arms/legs.

Lego noob reporting in. I ordered the Saturn V from the Lego store (online) the day it was released. Since then its status has changed 3-4 times and today I received notice it would be delayed by two weeks after having been told it would ship 6/16 twice by customer service. Now I'm beginning to doubt I'll even receive a kit. Meanwhile there are sets priced 3x retail available on eBay and Amazon and tons of build videos up on YouTube. Very frustrating.
Is this kind of service normal for Lego? Is their product line so strong they can completely fuck up new product roll outs and no one cares? As I understand it, the only way you could get a Saturn V was to order at midnight online or stand in line at a store and hope they have a kit.
TL;DR - Why won't Lego shut up and take my money.
>>6361489
>Not listing LeLe/Lepin

>>6361540

>>6362042
But they already have your money.
It's you who doesn't have klocki yet.
>>6362042
Stop whining. It's a super-high-demand set. Of COURSE it's going to get put on backorder. Also unless you typo'd, it's still 10 days until your ship date. So calm your tits and be patient for the klocki.
>>6362045
>klocki
What does this mean?

>Is this kind of service normal for Lego? Is their product line so strong they can completely fuck up new product roll outs and no one cares? As I understand it, the only way you could get a Saturn V was to order at midnight online or stand in line at a store and hope they have a kit or wait a month for the hype to die down and stores restock
Fixed that for you, big guy
Same thing happened with the Exo-Suit. Now it's easy to get for retail.
>>6362052
It's what some people call danishblokken.
>>6362044
He's a cake stall now. But someday, maybe, he'll be something nice looking.
>>6362042
I don't see why people clamor to get a set right as it comes out
Just wait a month and you won't have any issues. It's not like you can get spoiled about anything like movies or games.
>>6362093
As I mentioned, I'm a Lego noob, so I had no idea there would be so many problems ordering Day 1.
Also, one thing I did know was that certain sets go out of production and end up costing 3-4x retail from a re-seller. I didn't want to pay that much for a set.
>>6362101
Don't worry. Very few sets go out of production before everyone who wants it has a chance to get them. I'd say over 80% of sets can be found at near MSRP for a good bit even after they are done being produced.
>>6362093

>>6362042
I ordered mine at about 6:30 AM EST on release day. It said, at that point, that it was backordered until the 19th.
According to Lego and FedEx, mine shipped yesterday and should be here by the end of the day on the 8th.
>>6362124
Ot looks great. But doesnt fit Toxikita. Thats all.
>>6361981
Those arms for fingers always look incomplete to me, maybe add little claws to the ends? There's not many good options for fingertips.
Otherwise it looks really good. The Tox mech also, love the color scheme.
>>6362150
Mine was saying a 30 day backorder when I ordered at 9am but now I have an estimated delivery of the 8th too. So who knows.
>>6362101
The modular buildings have been the biggest offender for this, but they have like 4 years before they get retired. Don't see this set being a huge issue, honestly.
>>6361943
I used to do that when ripping off people in tf2.
Just to make them feel bad.
>>6362101
>certain sets go out of production and end up costing 3-4x retail from a re-seller.
>>6362115
>Saturn V

>I dont think you understand how quickly this thing sold
Hey newfriends, settle down and I'll explain how the MORE VALUABLE THAN GOLD meme works.
When a $400+ Ultimate Collector's Series set is released, not a lot of people buy it, because it's $400+ and not many stores carry it. This business model ensures that the people who have $400+ to blow on a single set will go through the effort of seeking it out for purchase, making it an "elusive and rare" set that not a lot of people get to see on shelves. This means that five years after stores stop stocking it, there aren't a lot of unopened sets, and because it's Star Wars/ other world-recognized brand, there will always be some people willing to pay $2000 for two pounds of plastic because it's an "elusive and rare" set, which helps to justify the exorbitant cost.
The Saturn rocket is not a $400+ UCS set. Lego will make several production runs of the Saturn rocket because in this case, their more profitable business model is to make sure it's available to as many consumers as possible, as it is a much more affordable model.
As pointed out upthread, the Exo-Suit went through this same SOLD OUT FOREVER OMGWTF phase where the green space minifigs were selling for $15-20 each on Bricklink despite the set retailing for less than $40 and including two of them. A couple months later, the new production run started, and suddenly all those scalpers couldn't compete because Amazon was selling the Exo-Suit new for $35.
tl;dr if you didn't get a rocket just be patient and wait a goddamn minute, Lego will be more than happy to take your money.
>>6362158
I feel the same about fingers, but I tried the claw pieces, and they look to pointy. Think I should either use this "Globe W. 3.2 Stick" pieces I used on thumbs, or get some pneumatic tube, cut it in small parts and use something like cones, round bricks or studs with hole.
>>6362170
other anon, but just wanted to add: Female scientists or whatever it was called was sold out instantly too. Seems to happen quite often with ideas sets. Maybe cause they are more adult-targeted and sometimes have a lot of hype behind them.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fZddqJ7y5TI
this already looks like a MOC :)
Will the UCS Star Wars kits ever return? I'd really like to build a Blockade Runner, Star Destroyer and Super Star Destroyer.
>>6362279
They loop through the more popular ones, it seems like. This is the second Snowspeeder they've made, so redoing the rest in a few years seems pretty reasonable
>>6362248
looks pretty cool, but I think it's pretty concerning that Nasa seems to go with a "design over functionality"-philosophy.
>>6361967

>>6362384

>>6361985
>>6362124
Just chiming in to say that I dig this build. The mech's got a good shape to it. I like how the knee joints are covered (but I wonder how much it hampers articulation). The yelllow-green color scheme works fine, I think.
I guess my only complaint is that it looks too "heroic" if that makes sense. It's needs to be a bit more angular or something. The giant claw hand of the original mech gives it a sinister asymmetricality. I don't know why, but the use of those sloped 1x2 vents on the original also add to the "bad guy" vibe. If it fits in with your personal head-canon, then more power to you.

It's more of an exosuit but it's the closest thing I have to a mech.
>>6361967

Pic only related because it's more Tron-esque Kazi bricks. Not the best minifig, I should say.
>>6362124

>>6361532
>>6361532
Shilling these shits as always. Holds a minifig in a cockpit in the back because it feels like a copout if you make a minifig scale thing and dont add space for a fig.
>>6362428
For you
is $2 for a 4oz bag a solid price for off-brand legos? (Mix of MegaBloks, Tyco, and some unnamed stuff)
>>6362042
All that trouble over a giant hypodermic needle. I don't get it.
>>6362400
>I wonder how much it hampers articulation
Knees are working fine for me, even though can't even reach 90 degrees and ball joints aren't so strong, making some poses tricky and unstable.
>looks too "heroic"
I can see how it might feel "heroic" to you, most likely rounded shape of arms gives that idea. But it's fine for me. As for the claw, i thought about it (since asymmetry is kinda my fetish), but haven't yet figured out how to combine claw and a nozzle of "acid spitter" in badass way. Might use head from one of Elves dragon, but don't know.
>>6362465
Cool! A bit to squarish in some places for my taste, but very good shape overall, especially grey one. Nice guns as well.

>>6362575
>>6362567
Oh, if you're SELLING them then, sorry about being a dick
For $2 I'd definitely grab a bag like that. Higher price, I'm not sure, it'd depend on what was in the bag. If it was all Tyco, IMO $4 or 5 would be okay price.
>>6362585
yeah, it's mostly Mega, and I have no idea how much Tyco mostly just a bunch of weird kinda triangular or corner pieces, no real sets or anything. Most pieces that are Mega come from the Kittyhawk aircraft carrier set, some old hovercraft set, and some big blue plane set (like blue thunder, but not the same because it has a special bubble canopy piece)
And does anyone know the part number for the Exo-Force light-up brick? can't seem to find it so far

>>6361532
>>6362163
Why in the world would your order not be honored? Stop being a whiny beeyatch.
I have the potential to pick up a Captain Rex AT-TE (#75157) for $65 and a 2010 AT-AT Walker (#8129) for $300
Are either of these good deals? The Rex Walker seems VERY cheap for new in the box, but what about the AT-AT Walker? It is also new in box and untouched.
They would go great together considering they fought each other in the Rebels animation, but to help perform a large scale battle between Resistance/Alliance and Empire/First Order....theyd both be VERY good figures.
>>6362886
Rex's AT-TE is underwhelming. There's a couple comparison videos on youtube to show the differences between it and the older ones.
$65 isn't a bad deal, but you'll probably end up spending more to modify it.
>>6362932
It seems like a good purchase. The Rebel/Alliance is VERY lacking on ground-based vehicles and thankfully it can function as a "Good-guy" Walker because its old "Clonetroopers" that dont appear to be Troopers and in Rebels...it does fight AT-ATs
What ways would you modify it to be more appealing?
>>6362942
It doesn't have that much usable surface area, and I'm not personally a fan of the neon yellows/blues. I'd probably start by taking those off and remodeling it into a proper weapons platform. More walkways would be good.
It's definitely a good one to greeble, it's covered with open studs on the sides.
>>6362947
I was feeling the same about the Yellows/Blues...I think I can get replacement plates in a dark red. It would certainly fit better with the Alliance color pallet of Reds/Browns/Dark Yellows.
>>6362541
This. I'm more interested in the bait shop.
>>6362886
what's with all that yellow blue and brown shit
it looks like some kid just put together wahtever he found
Oh, and on Bricklink, the AT-AT is far cheaper.
if AT-TE has figs, that's a solid deal, especially if it's got figs
>>6362967
I'm really hoping that VIPs get pre-purchase for that. There's set to be one or two, I think one in June and one in July. The bait shop is September? An August pre-order for it would be mint
>>6362970
Brown is supposed to be rust, I think, and the blue might be a "tarp".
Finally got my yuppie, and it only took me 3 weeks.
>>6362973
I guess I can kinda buy rust and a tarp, but fuckin' neon yellow?
>>6362766
That's Jang?!? I was imagining a fat white guy in his late 40s.
>>6362970
Yes...the Rex AT-TE is a unopened set with all 5 minifigs.
Like I said, Im probably going to replace the Yellow plates with a red similar to the flat pieces near them and the Blue plates I'll probably replace with the same Red color or maybe White plates. Same with the brown pieces around the Blue area (replacing them with red).
I'll probably keep the different colored leg though, only to keep the aesthetic of it being a VERY OLD AT-TE and maybe they had to replace one of the legs.

What are you building?
Also keep in mind that building big doesn't automatically mean it's going to be good. If you're not already extremely adept at building then don't waste your time and money. Or you'll just end up with a big fugly pile of bricks.
Just finished watching the Lego Batman movie, and I want to know why it had so many fucking homosexual undertones.
>>6363435
I haven't seen the movie yet, but man oh man are you new to the party. Batman has had a lot of homosexual undertones throughout the years. There are entire papers, dissertations and shit, written on this very topic. Do a little Googling around if you're curious. Though I'm guessing...you're not really curious, cause you sound kind of angry about it.
>>6363441

That joke did have a background though--namely, the numerous homosexual interpretations and implied homosexual subtext within Batman. Like I said, there are volumes of info on this with references and images, just a Google away. It's a pretty well-known theory and has been written about extensively.
Are there any good LEGO podcasts? I listen to brickfeed but I wanna know if there are any more
>>6363465
That's right, goy. It's all just a joke, and there is nothing at all unusual about homosexual jokes being in a cartoon movie for kids.
>>6363261
I dig it, is it an original design?
That being said, the feet are a bit silly
>>6363470
yeah I know, weren't allegations of Batman being gay propaganda even the reasoning/ part of the reasoning for why there should be the comics code? I remember reading about that, on the basis of: Well, Bruce wayne lives in a house with 3 guys and the flowers in Wayne Manor are neatly arranged, which means they are all gay. Then, to "counter" that DC introduced Batwoman (who is a lesbian nowadays)

That looks awesome, but I'll have to dock points for the stickers on the upper wing.

How do you deal with the urge to build more than you have space for? Are there reliable ways to compress minifig-scale layouts and have them look good?

Seduction of the Innocent was Bullshit.
But, it was enough to make "Bruce" a "gay name" (Which is why the Hulk on the old T.V. series was named "David")
Now, despite a rich man adopting a series of young boys and playing dress up with them it isn't gay. Wonder Woman is however about femdom. (check out the creator who liked both 3somes and being tied up by women.- which is fine in my books. )

Some deleted scenes from TLBM. First scene is really cool and would have fit well in my opinion. Also the control room looks neat. 2nd and 3rd are dumb but 4th is actually quite funny (doesn't fit at the beginning though, probably the same for 1st.)

Does everybody playing get their own three characters? Or the whole group gets the three? Are the rest of the characters brought along too? Or ???
>>6364011
Three for the whole group. The rest stay behind. I'd like to bump it up to 4 or 5 characters, but then I'd run the risk of the party being spread out across five rooms at once. I have the parts to render 3 rooms simultaneously, but I'm not sure I can handle 5 at once.

Doctor Quis basically has free heals according to the potion rules, so he's a must.
Inventor Penkala seems like a good way to boost the power of all crew members through the creation of the bizarre but effective forms.
The third slot is a toss up between Bosun Joy for her extra storage space, which would allow for planning for more situations at once. The other candidate is Engineer Lang, repairing machines and electronics could be a valuable skill for moving through areas quickly, or getting the heck out of them. (repairing control panels and fixing ships comes to mind) I'd likely go for the extra storage space though, I tend to hoard items.
Here's the big ol booty of my capital ship
>>6364244
Ooo, I like how they're staggered.
What do you actually do with Lego? I used to love it as a child and have recently been feeling nostalgic about it, but idk what I'd do other than build sets admire them for a bit, then disassemble them.
>>6364254
I like to get inspired by the builds included in the instructions, combine some sets, rebuild them to look cooler or fulfill an Idea I have. This doesn't work with high-dollar sets like modulars, or the Saturn V I'm getting this week. Those ARE just display pieces. But ninjago and nexo and creator stuff is fair game to make something cool with.
I have a bulk collection and sometimes I dump sections of it out and build with the cooler looking spacey stuff. Just depends on my mood. Pic related is one such example of when that went especially well
>>6364254
You build whatever you want with them!
Doing backstories is part of the fun.
Posing around the things you build around in displays, sometimes make pictures of it or even comics or stories.
Some people use them as tabletop games or make working technic rc vehicles for competitions for more "direct play". Although some go full real-time pretend pew-pew scenarios because fuck the police.
However building a set out of the box is perfectly fine too if you get enjoyment out of that.
There any bare breasted 3rd party torsos out there? Or stickers?
Working on a lego Stalk from Saga.
How could I best get the effect of this armless torso?

>>6364309
No. But if the other store's website has a lower price, and it's in stock, and you show that to the cashier, they're supposed to match it. HOWEVER, it's manager's discretion, so if they think it's a scam or too much of a difference, they are allowed to deny the comp.

>>6364308
That just might work, I was between one of these and just an armless plain torso.
Still, I'd love to find a sticker or something to give it hip lines and breast outlines, even though the hair will likely cover part of it.

Well, the long-term solution is to work on your OCD by forcing yourself to take models apart and not put them back together, but the short-term solution would be to buy some pieces you think are cool on Bricklink and build something with them.

Ditching the dishes and shortening the thrusters would make them look more like turbines/turbojets than giant fuckoff thrusters, if that's what you're looking for. If you want to rotate them properly you'll have to angle them from the end of the wings, or use something hinged instead of a technic joint.
My personal preference would have them sit behind the wings (like now) instead of at the end, but that's up to you, anon.

I just watched a review on it. Oh God, what's even the point of trying to make a large building if they're gonna limit the budget so much?

>If they made the pauldrons bigger we could have spehss mareen minifigs.

Well hopefully the right parts will be there so the dedicated few could buy 3 or 4 and make something impressive

change the heads and make a team of business people
Bought a little box of spaceship building parts to uni, it's been fun finding different models I can build with the same parts.
Built a lil' police cruiser, for use in cities and open areas, piloted by the closest thing I have to a future cop.
The diagonal bricks on the wings are surprisingly stable, it's so satisfying when a random combo of bricks actually lines up and works well

>>6366521
I like it. That's a good use of the flick fire bar.
>>6366594
I find limiting the parts you use often makes for a more interesting builds, I always enjoyed scraping the bottom of my Lego box for the smaller pieces and seeing how they can be used together
I took apart Tanker Truck Takedown cos ugly, what should I build with the pieces? I'm not creative
>>6366643
A spaceship, using the wheels for engines.
Though me, I'd probably play around with different designs for trucks.
>>6366643
Not sure if they're out yet, but the new jungle city sets have loads of orangish yellow (previously rare colour) and also have a bunch of heavy truck parts. Might go together well for a more elaborate vehicle bashing them together.

Functions. Lego has a ton of wind up motors, electric motors, pneumatic motors, etc. Work one of them into your creation.
I keep buying off brand Lego like blocks because they're cheap, the quality isn't horrible and I can build a ton of stuff anyway.
Go ahead, judge me, I'm poor.

Lego's quality's been going down the shitter anyway. Fuck the purists, I want TLG to have some real competition.
That's a pretty nice looking ship. And model stand. I can't quite tell, are all those parts printed or a mix of print and stickers?
>>6366941
The venator moc ripoff just became available on aliexpress. It has 6k pieces, is big as fuck, and barely costs more than a UCS. As soon as the first reviews hit YouTube and are positive, I'm ordering one.
>>6366955
Thanks.
They were printed directly on the blocks, I would've left them out if they were stickers.
The Stand, I made it out of the parts that I couldn't fit on the model.
>>6366965
Quite frankly, I can't buy Lepin blocks because I've read articles that say they get blocked in my country and I don't wanna get a 200€ fine. It sucks, I wanted to make some Star Trek models and a Few Lepin sets had the parts I needed.
>>6364850
>>6366967
>a 200€ fine
Seriously? Damn.
I can't buy Lepin because they rip off MOCs, fuck them. Which parts do you need anyway?
The rookie has arrived, and construction on a small outpost and new mining vehicle has begun
I'll post the Silver Ranger from my Lego rangers team. And a member of the rangers' agents. She has a shotgun.

In the set with the Wookie, I needed the parts that make up the wings and use them to make a small Bird of Prey.
Wanted to make a small squadron (3 or 4) to put around a bigger ship.
>>6366912
>I think a lot of people stop posting when the thread stops bumping.
Yeah, it's nice. Makes it feel like it's pre-2014 /lg/.

It's in Italian.
It says that a few packages are blocked in customs due to a recent legal battle between Lego and Lepin.
Here we can see the comments regarding the situation and some of them have proof that their sets are being blocked.

That looks like a pretty standard assortment of wedge plates and click hinges holding them on. Why not bricklink them? Can't be that expensive.
>>6366995
I don't know about the fines but I heard about Germany blocking Lepin packages also.
Just ask the seller to write allah akbar all over the box, it should be fine.
>>6367007
Never heard of briklink in my life. Checking it right now, looks interesting.
Need to see how much shipping costs to Italy.
>>6367018
You'll most likely find Italian sellers.
>>6367018
It takes a little getting used to, but is very useful site.
To get the most out of it you'll need to make an account, then a wanted list of the parts you need. That'll let you look for stores that have what you need, and more importantly, filter them by country or region.
>>6364527
Damn, that looks fantastic. I really love how you designed the torso.
I'm trying to create a xenomorph. Would you mind if I used your design as a basis?
One of these days I'll build a big proper space base.

Don't feel bad Anon! It's a lot better than the tiny corner of a hallway I made the other day. (I only had a tiny portion of my collection and it isn't sorted at all so I was working with scraps, but I think I did okay. Pics coming later because I'm not at home right now)

Don't shit on all of them, some are alright. Gudi's almost on Lego's level. I'm putting together a Star Diamond set right now, and the plastic feels a little different, clutch a little tighter, otherwise the quality's the same.

true, but sadly it's the minority. Though to be fair I haven't tested Gudi or Enlighten, cause I only buy chink bricks out of curiosity when I can get them locally. I was however pleasantly surprised by Sluban.

that was pretty bad, anon. Here's some suggestions.
1. plan out what you're going to say ahead of time, write a script and stick to it.
2. I have a migraine headache and your camera work made it worse. Posting a bunch of pictures really doesn't require shaky mostly unfocused camera work, it would have been done better with a slideshow of still pics.
I hope you stub your toes on something every day for a week.
